Our family of five vacationed in the area and went here all three days! We tried various things (mainly breakfast foods) and LOVED every bite. The service was friendly and helpful. Hope you enjoy as much as we did!

I'd actually give 3.5 stars if I could. The best part was our service. We were visited often for our coffee refills and to make sure we didn't need anything else. I normally don't order an omelette because I don't like it when the eggs get brown. The eggs were brown. I should've stuck with my tried and true scrambled instead. I asked for the spinach to be finely cut and they obliged. They even obliged when we asked for real butter. The grits were creamy. Mama's is definitely "a greasy spoon" type diner. Not much on ambiance but it was fascinating to see their pics of old Tampa.

Mamas Kitchen for the Win!!! Finally made it here and so glad we decided to go. I was in the mood for some home cooking kind of food today. Picked up my mom and we went for breakfast. We had coffee to start. Nice fresh and hot. Perfect. For my breakfast I chose French Toast and Bacon. 3 huge slices of French toast with Fresh Bacon. Like Real Bacon. Soooo Good yall. My husband had the Mamas Kitchen Special with 3 huge Pancakes. I mean Huge. He really enjoyed it. I'm sure he will need a nap. My mom had 1 pancake with 2 scrambled eggs. She was very pleased. It has a nice vibe and great service as well.

Yummmmm. Huge portions! Very friendly atmosphere definitely didn't disappoint Ellie finding a cool places to my husband didn't think I was gonna really enjoy this one, but the food was pretty decent. Huge portions and what I really like. The most is with breakfast. The grits were really yummy.

Came to Mama's because I had a CL Deals coupon for $20. It is a diner style place with American and Greek style foods. The menu is old and not updated. I came for lunch but the things I wanted were discontinued or out of stock. So I swiched to breakfast, an omelet with ham, cheddar and shrooms. A side of grits and rye toast. The omelet was ok but the grits were terrible. However, the greek salad that I got to go, was great and it fed both the wife and I. The place is somewhat run down, the seat cushion springs have sprung and the decor feels a couple decades old. I was happy with the service, very friendly and attentive. This is a guess but I would stick to the greek side of the menu.

Went here for breakfast this time. We enjoyed our meal. The restaurant reminds me of an eastern Long Island diner. It's not very big, but it's a good atmosphere and the staff are friendly.

Everyone was super nice and it just felt like such a lively spot. Our table got a bunch of apps to share along with a couple entrees and all of the food was fantastic. The sangria was also incredible and definitely a standout. The only downside was that the service felt a little slow, so in between ordering drinks it felt like a long time. I did not mind too much though because the overall experience was still really fun. Definitely a place I would go back to!

We had a 6:30 PM reservation and the restaurant was fairly empty (about 4-5 tables occupied), yet we were seated at a very small two-top directly next to another couple where we could clearly hear each other's conversations. Several larger tables nearby remained empty the entire evening. When I asked about moving, we were told the tables were reserved and we'd need to leave by 8:30 PM ~ yet we stayed until 9:40 PM and those tables were never used... Service started off slow. No one greeted us for about 20 minutes until we waved someone over. When our server, Briana, arrived, she asked if we had been helped, which made it seem like there was a lack of communication between the host staff and servers. Food was okay: the branzino with grilled vegetables was very good, but the octopus was extremely tough and chewy. My plate was also chipped on both the left and right sides, which was surprising considering how expensive the dinner was. Drinks were fine, just a bit too sweet. What really caught me off guard was the automatic 20% gratuity added to a two-top. The most expensive restaurants in Tampa don't even do it and this is not Miami. Overall, not a terrible experience ~ but not one that makes me eager to return.

The only miss for me was the raw white part of the green onions in the salad, they were a bit too chunky for my taste. The chicken, though? Perfectly grilled...crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. It came with a tzatziki sauce that was more on the liquidy side, which isn't my favorite texture, so I just used it as a dip for the chicken and hummus. Heads-up: the menu on their official site isn't updated, but if you Google "Tasty Mediterranean," it shows accurate prices and lets you order online. It came out to $17.99 plus tax , which is a little pricey for lunch, but the portions were solid and the staff were super friendly so no complaints there!

I was also shocked I had never heard of it. I went yesterday for the first time to have it in person and was blown away at the quality of food in terms of how fresh EVERYTHING was and how efficient the service was. The staff was so so wonderful. Cassie, Clayton, & Joy were all such a pleasure to meet and speak to. I'll be happy to go support them in their new location opening in Largo. Getting into the food - here's what we ordered and thoughts on each: - Trio of Spreads: Pesto Hummus, Roasted Garlic Feta, Tzatziki w/ grilled & fried pita chips. Each dip was INSANE and you could tell by the taste they were not only homemade but made to order. My favorite was the whipped feta but i could genuinely eat each of them everyday. They asked if we wanted the pita grilled or fried and when I asked which was better they gave us both! And I'm so glad they did because I really enjoyed both and had never had fried pita before (delicious of course). I will be getting this every time. I do remember the dips going crazy when we had gotten it catered and they hit just as hard this time around. - Chopped Greek Salad w/ potato salad. I had this infamous dish when we had it catered and I was literally addicted to the potato salad. I remember I had a plate of everything else then went back for a full plate of the potato salad. I definitely recommend getting this salad chopped over the traditional way as it is much easier to eat. So unique they add the pasta salad to it!! - Chicken Souvlaki Pita. I always get gyro pitas so was trying to switch it up here and I was so glad to finally try Chicken Souvlaki (I've had Greek sooo many times but never tried it) and it was SO yum. Definitely a good change of pace for me. - Gyro Pita Platter. Still needed to try out their gyro so got the platter which is basically a deconstructed pita. I love that you're able to add as much or little of each of the ingredients - it reminds me of taco nights! The gyro was fire of course. - Greek Feta Fries. These were seasoned to PERFECTION. I was stuffed but couldn't stop eating them. You gotta order these at every Greek place and constantly compare. These were a wedge vibe and the perfect amount of potato in my opinion (I'm Irish so I prefer a thick steak fry to a skinny mcdonald's fry). The flavor went crazy. EXTRA SAUCES - DONT SLEEP ON THE SPICY TZATZIKI

There was one other couple ahead of me, and only one person working, so I did wait a bit, which was fine since I needed to peruse the menu. There are a few tables inside to eat at, but I chose one of the three outside tables. After conferring with the couple in front of me, I decided to go with the Mezze platter - your choice of 5 items. I thought it was expensive at $24, but it seemed to be the best way to try a wide variety of things. The five items I got, ranked from best to least best: 2 falafels-really good, hummus-very good, cucumber salad-good, cous cous-fine, beet salad-meh. Make sure you ask for the hot sauce - it jazzed everything up. The platter was served with a couple of pieces of pita, but there really needed to be more to dip into all the salads. The only available drinks were to purchase bottled water or bottled soda. I only ate about a third, but I will say it did not travel well. Because three of the salads were placed in the same section, by the next day all three salads were a combined soggy mess, and the only part that was still edible was the hummus. I did enjoy the food, and the worker was incredibly friendly and hospitable, but it was a bit too pricey for one lunch for me.
