My husband and I went for late lunch yesterday and Matt's service was truly appreciated. I even overhead him on another table trying to accommodate someone who is vegan. I enjoyed their prix-fixe lunch with the seasonal winter martini. My only regret is that I didn't realize I had a $10 off reward through December 7th that could have been used. Tonight reality hit - this is a 3-star restaurant. Sometimes a little better, and sometimes a little worse. Starting with cocktails - one was perfect. The other, a premium Whistle Pig old-fashioned was missing a very important ingredient. There was no candied peppered bacon. And that would've made this special. I asked about it and it took about 20 minutes before they finally almost had some bacon, but didn't. And by then the cocktail was gone. No attempt to make it right. And no apology. Next, the main courses. We both had bourbon glazed salmon, which was a little spicy, but very enjoyable, otherwise. However, it seems they ran out of dinner plates as they were both on a salad plates. This made it very uncomfortable/difficult to eat. I mentioned this to our server. His smart ass answer was, "would it have tasted any better on a big plate?" Good response in a comedy club not so much in a restaurant. The first time that I experienced Bonefish Grill was at a location in the Austin, TX area that no longer exists so I was pleased to have the opportunity to relive the great culinary experience that I had in Texas. To get the old palate in gear, I ordered an Old Fashioned that was executed to perfection and did not disappoint. We ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp for an appetizer which was a very good choice and for my main course, I had the Rockefeller Butterfish which was absolutely delicious. Another anniversary visit to Bonefish! That ambience is always great and so was our waiter. Prices are reasonable as well. After all these years I tried the Lily chicken and it was yummy! The chicken was moist and had tons of flavor. Sorry no pictures. We also get the ahi tuna appetizer and it is always amazing. Our family from Europe also loved each dish. The Crab Loaded fries were nicely topped with Lump Crab meat and could of just ate that by itself. The Imperial dip was creamy with chunks of Shrimp through. The side of chips did taste a bit stale. We did takeout and I must say how disappointed I was. I believe the mussels got me sick and I'll leave it at that. There are just some things that don't belong in a closed container. For example, the bang, bang cauliflower and shrimp were no longer crispy and they put the sauce on the side, so when you add the sauce and mix it in you get a mushy mess; the breading starts to come off. The sashimi was dry and tasteless. Close to 20% of the mussels didn't open and I believe, as I mentioned early, made me sick. We also had dumplings which were way overcooked, almost hard. They were also very salty. My dinning experiences in other Bonefish Grill's have been pretty good on average. Maybe not the best place for takeout though. read more

Yum yum yum! We showed up on a Saturday and to our surprise, all appetizers were half off! The bang bang shrimp is a must! Absolutely delicious if you like a kick of spice. Brand new Bonefish building. Independent building with good parking space. Food is fresh. Space also wider in compare to the old one. It is definitely a big improvement. We got the grilled rainbow trout with skin and the sea bass. The trout is slightly grilled with blackened flavor. The fish grill perfectly. It come with rice and mixed veggies. I would said one thing, they could have add more rice rather than on scoop of rice. The restaurant should think every customer should go out fill stomach. The sea bass is good thick piece. I love Bonefish...I always have. This location near the outlet mall on 54 was good...not the best but good. I was seated about 6:30 PM this past Thursday. I was sitting there for about 12 minutes and no one had come to my table so I had to ask someone to send my server. The server was sweet... But he was busy. So we had to ask for a few items more than once....bread and my friend's drink. She got a side salad and bang bang shrimp... Delicious as always. I asked them if they could still make an off-menu item called Saucy Shrimp that has always been my favorite... Happily, they could. It was so so good. I never get sick of that! I also saw the bacon macaroni and cheese and decided we should have that too...great flavor but not overly cheesy...perfect. I just want to say if I was only rating my food I would give this 4 stars because the bang bang shrimp was good and the pork chop was cooked to perfection honestly one of the best pork chops I've ever had. My suggestion is to get the pork chop and put the butter or any other topping on the side. My partner got the pasta with shrimp and it was disgusting I took one bite and couldn't swallow it. This is a great location by the Tampa outlet mall. Located right off the highway, it's relatively new so it's nice and clean. I don't write many reviews but I wanted to take the time to write a review for this particular Bonefish restaurant. The staff here is always so welcoming. We have NEVER had a waiter/waitress who wasn't absolutely top notch. The managers are always visible and concerned that everything about your experience is great. My husband and I go just for the Bang Bang shrimp but like everything we have tried on the menu. I know it's a fish restaurant but the chimichurri filet is really good! We mentioned we were splitting the meal and the kitchen divided it for us and delivered to us beautifully arranged on two plates. Their Brussels sprouts are the best around and the cauliflower side dish is AMAZING. Even the bread and pesto they start the meal off with is really good. I just want to say thank you to Bonefish management for assembling a great team. We've never had a bad meal here. read more

2/25/24 - Our previous visits were wonderful but quite some time ago. So many new places to try in this area that we were definitely overdue for another dinner here. We've eaten at other Bonefish Grill's but this one always seems to have friendly outgoing, yet professional servers. Food portions may be a bit smaller than other restaurants but the presentation, flavors, temperature and quality are factors that matter much more to us that having a plate so full we can't see it. We like the lighting, having booths rather than tables, a good bar and nice wines at a reasonable price. It just feels like dinner in a nice place as opposed to a big open kitchen-like eating area. We were celebrating our 50th anniversary, as well as my husband's 75th birthday. Reservations are required but the restaurant was fairly full so I always make a reservation. Although we've always been greeted warmly, our visit started with a truly gracious one from Nathasha. She escorted us to a booth, asked if the setting sun was a bother, and though it wasn't, she explained how easy it was to adjust the shades if we thought it necessary. In addition, she gave us menus and explained the chef's choice and the dinner for 2 options. However during our visit we also noted her kindness in helping others with walkers, crutches, etc as they got seated. This is far beyond what we've had elsewhere, but speaks volumes about hospitality here. After such a delightful start, our experience got even better with our server Addison. After coming promptly to the table, she asked how we'd like to start, and brought water then gave us a few minutes to review the wine list. She returned and asked if we were ready to make a selection and offered to answer Qs if we had any, which we did. Her comments encouraged consider an "Interesting Red" a Portillo. We weren't familiar with it and she quickly suggested we taste it first. It was earthy but not heavy. We definitely liked it and ordered a bottle. We weren't yet ready to order our meals and she seemed to know exactly when to return to the table, again offering to help with information for us to decide. Addison's explanations made everything we asked about sound exceptional, and our needing a few more minutes to decide. We selected the smoky tomato grouper, sides, and loved every morsel. The cheese cake dessert was cool, creamy and not overly dense. Great to the very last crumb! Can't think of a single thing that could have been better. My family of 3(myself, my husband and 6YO) have visited this establishment numerous times and this was one of the worst experiences we had. We had a reservation set and got there on time but had to wait becuase the server was late... After being seated, the server took our child's order and our drinks-appetizer order. After waiting for a few minutes (ordered food was given promptly) BUT we had to wait 20 minutes to put in our entrees (during this time she never came back to check in us additionally, we had to ask another server to flag her down so we could place our dinner entree orders). Understandably, if she was busy, we would be fine but her station had no other people. After placing the entree order, we waited another 25 minutes for the food to arrive, the waitress did not come once to check up on us. Upon finishing the meal and calling for the check, she hovered over me looking at the tip I was giving her... food was good, no issues there, but the service was horrible and HAS turnED US away from this place in the future. read more

While we have enjoyed Bone Fish Grill on many occasions and different locations this was the first time here. The waiter was Les than present and checked on the table once. They brought the wrong food to our table and for $18 plus dollars a burger that was dry with nothing but the bun. The guy had to be flagged down and the food was cold by the time the onion and rest was brought to complete the burger. The guy simply said, "oh, yeah you were brought the wrong burger let me get you the stuff". We had not enough cutlery and again flagging him down for it was a task. I went to the bar at bonefish grill on Saturday night at 8:22 pm. It took 12 minutes for a bartender to come over to me, and it was not even busy. Ir was a short girl, and a tall curly haired guy. I met a friend there who was already sitting there with a beverage. Getting the bartenders attention was nearly impossible. When I finally ordered my drink from the tall curly haired guy, he took a short glass and filled it over the rim with ice cubes. When I asked him to dump half the ice out, that half a cup of ice in the cup is more than enough, his response in a snarky tone was that i can "say please". I thought both of the bartenders demeaned the entire night was dismissive and rude. We put in one appetizer and the girl walked away before I could finish the order, and I had to call her over again so she can take the whole order. The atmosphere is inviting and really nicely decorated. Our server (can't remember her name) she was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She suggested the Christmas cocktail and I loved it. However the food was mediocre, not bad but not flavorful as I remembered Bonefish to be. My bang bang shrimp was warm not hot like you would expect just coming out of the fryer and it lacked the bang from the sauce. The crab fries was a joke, it's literally fries with tiny pieces of crab sprinkled on top definitely not a lump of crab like the menu states. Don't waste your money ordering that. My Chilean sea bass didn't even taste like Chilean sea bass, I got the sauce on the side because I love the natural flavors of Chilean sea bass. Not sure what they gave me but I don't believe it was Chilean sea bass. I side of if bacon Mac & cheese was good but the garlic mashed potatoes was definitely missing the garlic. My first time in the relocated Bonefish Grill in Wesley Chapel. This place is so much brighter than the North Tampa location. Lots of windows and bright-very nice! My hubby and I came early and had our pick of seats. This is not our first rodeo with Bonefish-always loved this place. Started out with a few glasses and wine and of course, their yummy bread and olive oil. My hubby ordered Mahi and grilled shrimp. Loved it. My server, Veronica, gave a great recommendation-"The Lilly" topping on top of the grilled salmon. Spot On!! I love grilled spinach with artichoke hearts and goat cheese. We stopped here for lunch, and it was okay. The brand new beautiful restaurant added to our experience, as it was fully staffed, and our service was excellent. Our meal started off with warm delicious Ciabatta bread with herbed olive oil dip, and a draft beer. We shared our lunch, which was Skewered Scallops and Shrimp, and your choice of 2 sides, of which we picked coleslaw and French fries. The kitchen unexpectedly plated it for each of us, and that was at no additional charge. I love carbonated water for my beverage, and no extra charge for that either, and yes, I have been charged for that at a few restaurants. Although the shrimp and scallops were smaller than expected, they were cooked perfectly, which is not easy for that size. I would have thought they would serve premium fries, but they were shorts, or what a French fry buyer would refer to as line flows, what falls from the production line because they're too short.
