Cheddars is a solid option when you're in the road. They have a diverse and proteins packed menu which also includes lunch specials. I was excited to see that the classic spasagna was back on the menu as well! I opted for the New Orleans pasta. It was a hearty serving with included garlic bread. My mom didn't know what she wanted, until she did, then there was no changing her mind. She wanted onion rings! Well,they were out of onion. went there on March 26 of 2026. Waited two days to write the review so that I wasn't just angry typing at the screen. Last time I went to this particular location was during the pandemic. I actually got better service during the pandemic I did on this particular visit. The waiter was forgettable. No real personality and came across as lazy. Ordered drinks, three waters with lemon. He says that they are out of lemon wedges and he needs to cut some more never does. The table next to is piled high with half eaten food and trash. It stayed this way for over 20 minutes until we requested somebody clean the table. I ordered the two pieces of boneless fried chicken with country gravy,, loaded, mashed potatoes and green beans. The green beans were canned green beans nothing special no real flavor. The chicken was good and juicy. Had a nice crunch. The country gravy well I can't really tell you I got about 2 tablespoons, and the waiter told me that they were out of gravy and it would take about 15 minutes to make some more. I requested more country gravy as we were packing to leave because I still had a piece of chicken left. no country gravy. The loaded mashed potatoes were very tasty. I actually wish the serving had been bigger. There was also a piece of toast under the fried chicken. It was burned black. Un edible. So between the lack of cleanliness, the lack of the weight staff to do anything to actually improve our experience, i.e. lemon wages, more gravy, completely lacking. The food was hit or miss some parts of it were delicious, i.e. the loaded mashed potatoes, and the butter, honey croissants other parts were completely forgettable, like the green beans or completely un edible like the toast. For the prices that we paid for this meal, you'd expect better quality. Probably won't be back if this is any indication of the quality of service these days. Go somewhere else to celebrate your birthday. read more

Tonight was the second and final time that we come to visit this Cheddars location. The last visit we came here, I ordered chicken pot pie. After placing my order our server came back to inform us that "I'm sorry we are out of the pot pie." So I ordered a different dish. Tonight was an almost identical repeat. Ordered the chicken pot pie and afterwards our server came back and informed us "I'm sorry we're out of the pot pies. It'll be 25 minutes before we have any more." Can someone tell me how in the world you "run out" of chicken pot pies when that is one of your signature meals. Not only once but both times I've come, mysteriously they've been out. Sounds to me like the kitchen manager or location manager isn't doing their job effectively. I definitely WILL NOT be back to this location. Sunday Jan 18 2026, at 4:30pm. Came in to a 20 min wait to be seated and there were atleast 20 tables open. Then they bring 2 rolls out. 1 per person and they were small. If you want more they are 2.00 a piece extra. Very stingy with complimentary bread. Then 5 to 7 min wait on waiter. Immediately ordered and waited 25 min. To get food. With hardly Noone occupying seats. It took me and my girl 45 to 50 min just to get food. Very disappointed. When we received our croissants, they weren't fresh or even hot, but they still tasted good. When our food came, it wasn't fresh at all. The French fries tasted cold and stale. None of the food was hot at all. The penne pasta we ordered was not served with garlic bread like the menu said it would be. We ordered a trio sampler. The spinach dip was basically empty. It was very hard to actually scoop the dip onto the chip. We asked our waitress to have it remade, the "remade" spinach dip came out in the same condition as the original. Spinach dip, or any dip should not be physically hard like our Spinach dip was. Our waitress was nice but she didn't offer us any refills at all. The interior was nice. If they put as much into the food and service as they do the appearance they would be good but, that was not the case for us. We ordered the meatloaf. The first bite was good and nice and soft but the more I ate the less I wanted. I found pink meat in mine and the gravy was good but had no onions or mushrooms and was scarce. The broccoli consisted of 5 pieces boiled with no salt or butter. The loaded baked potato was not loaded. It did not have chives or bacon bits. Only cheese and sour cream and the peeling was hard as if it sat under a heat lamp for too long. Noone showed us how to use the machine to check ourselves out when we tried to pay and they wouldn't check us out any other way. We had to ask for help. And had to ask for a receipt. When the waitress asked "were you impressed" I had a hard time answering and she questioned me on that too. She also inappropriately stood with her arm across the back of my boyfriend's seat standing slumped towards him. I had one medium size glass of tea and he had the same size glass of soda. Here's another one of those reviews that I'm having a hard time providing. I've driven by this place a few times and it always seemed to have a lot of cars in the lot. It has a pretty big parking lot, so parking shouldn't be a problem. Well, I finally decided to stop in and eat an early dinner. The hostess said seating at the bar was at my discretion (with pandemic protocols in place). Being early, there wasn't many people seated inside. Scanning the menu, I quickly noticed they listed a "chicken pot pie"....which is one of my favorites! I was in great anticipation of something absolutely satisfying my taste buds. When it arrived, it looked absolutely delicious. But the ratings go down from there. The crust was a nice, flaky golden brown. Punching through the crust with my spoon, I expected to see a nice, hot steam rising out of it (to indicated it was hot)....but not steam. I also expected to plunge right into the soupy part right below the crust. The filling wasn't even close to the crust top. I estimate the "bowl" was just over half full. Since I'd never been to one of these restaurants from their chain, I assumed that is how they fill them. Well the crust taste was fairly bland. The soupy filling wasn't much better. I definitely needed to add some salt and pepper to give it some flavor. My server (bartender) was very pleasant and refilled my Coke without me even asking. In fact, she asked if I like my drink topped off and in a to-go cup. This is a pretty nice looking place inside and out. But I was sooooo disappointed in the taste of my chicken pot pie. I've had them at numerous places across the country....and as much as I hate to say it, "this was the worst tasting one" I've had. The Marie Calendar frozen one you get from the grocery store put this one to shame....flavor-wise. So I'm puzzled how it could even be on the menu....did I just happen to get a poorly made one? I'd like to give this place another try...but I'll definitely be trying something else off the menu. My best advice about this place is to try and judge for yourself, but do NOT order the chicken pot pie. read more

Cheddar's opened a few years ago in Dothan. I had it once before and it was ok. I chose the shepherd's pie then, which is not on the menu anymore. Cheddar's is conveniently located by the movies in Dothan. The building itself is very up to date and clean with a huge aquarium. Cheddar's prides themselves on making everything from scratch. I believe them. I asked the waiter what was his favorite dish on the menu and he said the Country Fried Chicken. This Country Fried Chicken put Cracker Barrel's to shame. It was all kinds of fried goodness without all the grease that lingers. The batter was really great and the gravy on top made it even better! I usually eat everything with sauce but with the gravy, there was no need. The meal came with mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. You can substitute if you don't like those choices. No denying the mashed potatoes wasn't made from scratch as they had butter and pepper mixed in. The green beans were sweet and really good. I hate green beans that taste like bland beans. My brother had the Monster Cookie. It's a huge chocolate chip cookies that comes on a skillet with ice cream on it. If the chicken wasn't so good, I think I would have been happy with these monster cookie. My 2nd visit to Cheddar's was better than the first and I will consider eating at Cheddar's more often. read more

We were seated in the bar area at 1:05pm, and after waiting over an hour and fifteen minutes we finally got our food. By the time it came, there was almost no one left in the restaurant. There were several items left off of our order, such as ranch for chicken tenders and gravy for mashed potatoes. One staff member finally came and apologized for the error and wait time.
