I was in Cheddar's about an hour ago and our food was amazing everything came out perfect and our server was great! Then... I had ordered croissants to go and I had just sat down to eat one of them and there was a STAPLE inside of the croissant!! Never ever had anything like this happen, my parents own restaurant and when I had told them they had no idea why they would even have staples in their kitchen. If I could give zero stars I would! The whole experience was bad, the manager Kim didn't really take our concerns to heart and gave a very dry apology and very empathetic. The first order of potatoes skins was cold, dry, old and burnt.The second order we ordered was no crispy onions under the steak and for the drink to come out with the food , didn't get the drink but got the onion. The third order the food was cold and the broccoli cheddar rice had very little rice, just broccoli and cheese sauce. The fourth order was dry and no favor the chicken Alfredo pasta I literally couldn't eat it. The house salad was the best part of the meal. I really love cheddars and the prices are amazing. I always get the club with garlic aioli. I also got a grilled chicken sandwich last time I went that was delicious, I can't remember the name unfortunately. The broccoli cheese casserole is so yummy and cheesy. I went to Cheddars today Christmas Eve around 12 noon. Cheddar's is normally a good restaurant. Today not so good. So there was some problems for example I ordered the steak and shrimp and instead of a sirloin and shrimp I ordered ribeye and shrimp I didn't realize that because I ordered a ribeye and shrimp they added as an additional charge of 5.50 for the shrimp, last time I checked a ribeye is a steak. next issue was the waiter I understand although he was doing his best they were issues. first he was kind of loud not sure why he was yelling at us it was not that loud in the restaurant. secondly instead of serving everyone their plate individually he asked us to pass it down and was basically putting his arm constantly in my face. Thirdly a rib-eye steak should normally be tender mine was dry and unpleasant to eat, the remaining sides were extremely small almost like a child's plate. the only good thing that I had there today was the frozen margarita at the end of the service my bill was $35. Service was great, food was great. It was hella busy when I got here but they somehow got me seated in 15 minutes. The staff is very nice and respectful too. The interior is somewhat fancy except for the bar where there is a sport feeling to it, has a good blend though. Reminds me a lot of Chilis. This is my favorite local restaurant; I even like the noise. Cheery wait staff and good food. Very moderate prices. The place is occasionally mobbed, but if you miss the peak hours, you'll always get seated. There always seems to be an air of celebration here. read more

Wow, we had a horrible experience here. One of our party found a live ant in her salad--AND in the one they brought to replace it. There was also an ant I one our glasses of water. And after pointing out ALL of these issues to the waiter and then the manager, they didn't comp even the ant-infested salad until we asked them to. Honestly, they could not have cared less. Our waiter hardly came to our table, we waited for drinks too long, I asked for water 3 times and my friend asked for dressing that we waited for when she was about already half way done with her salad. All the while I notice he is diligently serving another table beside us. Our food comes and everything is there except my husband's fries that was supposed to come with his burger. We wait another at least 10 min before the waiter comes and says he'll check on them, wait again and he comes back still with no fries. So my husband respectfully tells the waiter he doesn't want his burger anymore and to take it back. The manager comes later and does not introduce herself and asks what is wrong with the burger, we explain and so rudely says I can't make you not eat your burger when we already said he eats his burger with fries. You don't go to any restaurant or fast food place to eat your main course and then eat your side later. She never apologized, or asked how they can make it better, nothing. So my husband tells her we'll pay for it but to take it back anyway because he would not be eating it. The waiter comes back finally with our checks and we ask what the manager's name was, he said that she said not to tell us her name. We left peacefully but needless to say my husband was livid. I can't help to think that we got treated that way because we were Hispanic as he was giving excellent service to the other table and may have presumed we wouldn't tip well, which we always tip very well. It's been about two years since I came to Cheddars, and I was excited to try it again but was very disappointed. We ordered what we typically order, the blackened catfish (extra blackened). The first time it came out, the sides were incorrect and they asked us to removed the sides with our hands so that they can throw it away and bring out a new one. Then it came out unblackened and with no taste. We proceeded to tell our server who said he can bring out some seasoning to throw on top of it and when we asked them to just remake it he seemed confused and asked the manager to talk to us. The manager came out with no visible smile on her face and looked annoyed when we explained the situation. She agreed to remake it and the third time it came out it, it honestly did not taste good. This time around we just bit the bullet and ate what we could, payed, and left. To be honest, I'm not sure if Cheddar's is under new management or what's going on but this will probably be the last time we come here for a while. Hope y'all can fix what's going on. read more

We frequently went to the location in Arlington Texas and loved it. We recently moved her to College Station and I had received a coupon for 6 Oz sirloin dinner for $7.99 so we went to this Cheddar's for that reason to get there and the server tell me "we can't accept that coupon we can only do the queso coupons. I'm sorry I don't know why we can't take them." Really??? If you tell a customer you can't take a coupon find out from management why!!! I mean it was only $2 off but this was why we went there! So my husband and I decided we will split the larger steak and add a salad. I tell her we are splitting so you would think she would bring an extra plate or extra bowl. No! Had to ask a different server for it. Thankfully a different person brought the dinner with an extra plate. We ordered steak medium and it came out well. Ate it anyway but probably won't be back! I have to say, I used to love coming here some years ago when it was still fairly new. Sadly, I feel as though the more that time passes, the quality of the food keeps going down. Just for starters....the food is completely homemade....even the hot fudge that goes on the chocolate cake. There are 10 chefs working at any given time, and servers and bartenders work very hard, making drinks from scratch every morning. Also, they don't get to decide on their own uniforms. Waitress was great. Management was terrible. My family and I just arrived in town to visit family and we decided to have lunch at this restaurant. We sat down and ordered drinks, which were unsatisfactory. Once we informed our waitress of our displeasure, she in turn left to get a manager on duty. After explaining the dissatisfaction to the manager, he rudely responded by saying maybe we shouldn't order drinks from there from now on. Ever establishment I've ever been to, if their was a problem with anything in the order it would be remade or removed from the bill. Best Burger in College station!! Great place to eat and hang out with friends!! I wish they had more than one in College station because this one is always busy!! Staff was extremely friendly but make sure you watch out when you get your bill because they have been known to mix that up. It's Cheddars. The food is cheap, the atmosphere is loud, and they are crowded. If you want food that is a little better than Denny's and IHOP this is where you go. I personally really like the chicken pot pie, it's huge, only $7 and comes with a salad. Really good value. Their Caesar chicken pasta is pretty good too. The tilapia isn't that bad either. Man, I love to eat at Cheddar's. Their babybacks are awesome! I always gravitate toward them, but we haven't had a bad meal here. Last trip my wife had the Rib Eye and her grandson had the catfish. Both really enjoyed their meals. Service has always been good here and I like the atmosphere, friendly, but not raucous. If you like babybacks, give these a try. Also, they have a killer kale salad, which has made me a fan of kale. I think their prices are very good given the quality of the food. read more

I love this place. I can not believe I lived in this area for 4 years before I tried it. I love the atmosphere. Some of the waiters could have better attitudes but I know how to handle them so its okay. My husband and I can actuallyy afford to go here with our big family. We were seated very promptly for dinner, but waited 15 minutes for a waitperson to come by. No one ever did, so I asked the hostess. We were greeted and seated without any problem. As we tried to order drinks that is when the problem started. I have allergies to Pineapple and Orange most of the drinks on the menu have one or both in them as far as drinks I would drink so I asked for them to be removed. First they could not make the Pina colada. On the menu it doesn't clearly state pineapple but I know there is in the mix. On the menu it states Appleton Estate V/X, Malibu rum,Cream coconut. So I first asked if they could remove the pineapple part from the drink they stated no. I asked if the could make a coconut mojito they again said no which they have all the ingredient Mojito was a drink on the list. So I then asked if they could make any coconut drink they stated no they did not have anything to make a coconut drink. That is real funny because on the drink menu it clearly list Malibu rum. At this point I was just done I was not going to argue my point. there are many drinks on the menu that have coconut in them. I was more then willing to pay the same price as one of the drink with the removed items I did not want. but they were unwilling to even try. I have never in all my life had such an experience with a bartender. We then ordered our meal when it came my steak was not cook like I asked I specifically stated I wanted a steak that was med to med well Pink but no BLOOD!. I am OCD I can only eat certain foods cooked certain ways or I will not be able to eat so we returned the food to be put back on the fire/grill what ever they cook on. When the steak came back it barely had any pink in it it was drowned in pepper. I could not eat it luckily my husband shared his dinner and eat part of my steak so it was not totally a waste. The chicken tenders were the worst chicken I had ever eaten my husband did not want to eat them either. They were like rubber. It reminded me of raw chicken it just made me sick thinking about it I had to just push it aside. I can say this the ribs were great the mac and cheese was good, the sweet potato casserole was awesome, the broccoli Casserole was good and Broccoli was also good. We also had the cheese bites as an Appetizer they were OK. Other then these few good things that I mentioned my dinner was terrible and I would not visit again. I might think about ordering some food to go like the mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole but other then that I would not waste my time on a place who cares so little for customer service. This place is a joke. Me and my husband went here on Saturday night about 9:30 pm , let's just say the place looked dead. The lady who seated us put us in a corner in the only spot that was very congested, very loud groups that looked like drunk college kids. We then moved to the bar area cause it was more quiet and only other place they would allow us to sit. Then I ordered a alcoholic drink right away. My husband said he would order a drink when he orders so he can look at the menu. The waiter took our full order at 9:45 pm alcohol and all. Then at 10:05 he came back empty handed and said the bar just closed and couldn't get our drinks. The bar said it didn't close till 11 , they closed early for no reason (probably because the young kids wanted off to go be sluts at north gate) then on top of that the waiter should of put the order in right away but waited until the bar closed. Before we even got our food the buss boy started sweeping right next to us , allowing the crap and dirt that people brought in off their shoes fly in people's food, our food was brought right by the buss boy while he was stirring up all the dust and such.
