We have been going to Cheddar's and have always had excellent service and food. We have been going at least one a week since we moved to Beaumont 2 yrs ago. But today the visit was really disappointing. We have always ordered a dinner position and are allowed 2 side orders. So when I ordered double Onion rings for the side which I have been getting every time I have ate here. Was told they no longer do that. Will they just lost a loyal customer now! When our food was brought out, I was informed my choice wasn't available(they were sold out). Really?? You weren't aware of this before you served the other 3 people with me their food?? Cheap food, large portions. Very tasty. I had the steak and ribs combo with a baked potato and broccoli and cheese casserole. The casserole and potato were delicious. The steak was average and the ribs were a tad bit on the dry side but still had a very good taste to them. My wife the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans. It came with two very large chicken breast. A very good value and tasty. Her only complaint was not enough gravy given. The server quickly brought some more upon request. The food here is pretty affordable and tasty. Service is not so bad, but it's a hit and miss. I recommend the spinach dip and fish tacos! Last time I had the salmon, and it was delicious as well. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I was here on a Tuesday night, and was seated at a table that was being cleared (no prob), but no one came back to FINSISH clearing it. So I sat alone, with no menu, no drink, and a dirty table for about the first 10 minutes. When the waiter stopped by all I ordered was a bowl of soup (was feeling a bit under the weather so wanted to keep it light). I sat in the bar, and bc it was almost 8 pm on a Tuesday night, thought this would be the best option for getting out of there quickly. WRONG! After a half hour...nothing. I asked the waiter what was taking so long since it seemed a bowl of sout was easy to prepare, and that 30 mins seemed excessive. He agreed, but did not offer to do anything about it. To his credit, he asked if I wanted to speak to the Manager, which I did. Though THAT took another 5 minutes our of my life that along that I will never get back. The Mgr was about 18 years old and did not apologize. When I told him it was my first (and now last time there), all he could say was "wow." That's it! That's all he said! I told him it would be nice if he could try and fix the situation, and he said I didn't let him speak. He finally went to bring me soup to go. They were out of the Yellow Tail Chardonnay and I was informed that I would just have to buy the more expensive one. Asked to see a manager, waited and waited, he never came. Cheddar is a great place to go if you're looking for a large amount of great food at excellent prices. I have enjoyed almost everything I have tried from the menu, from the tasty food to the well-mixed drinks. Only downside is this place can get seriously PACKED, especially on the weekends. This makes for a very loud and hectic atmosphere and slower, sometimes outright poor, service. I recommend going for lunch or during the early week to avoid the crowds. read more

On June 19th, 2017 My wife, and two daughters went to Cheddar's in Beaumont off I-10 for an early dinner. I can't really say anything either way about the food; I ordered The Original Burger and it was fine. The only thing that was shocking to us was when a server delivered chicken strips to our table to my youngest daughter, before she realized it wasn't what she ordered we'd all grabbed a french fry off her plate. Then the server came by and quickly grabbed the plate and moved to the correct table next to us, leaving the honey mustard dip. We were in shock and afraid to make a sound. A few minutes later the table next to us was asking the server for honey mustard. It was something else! So, yes, it appears service here is hit or miss - food was mid-range to decent with a neutral rating. read more

This is my first 3rd trip here. First 2 excellent. This one? Not do much. Our waiter, Bryant, had the personality of a rock! Not impressed at all. I ordered the Blackened Catfish. No black at all but they might as well have poured the whole salt shaker on it. It was not edible. So I got our waitress that must be pissed at someone or something maybe having to work on Sat on a holiday weekend and when I told her how salty it was she couldn't have cared less, she took it back to the kitchen. When I finally got my plate again my husband had been finished for sometime...at one point she even asked if he was finished and never said one word about my meal before she brought it out. Always the best food that I have come to know.. Everything I have ever ordered from this place is always fabulous... The staff is always friendly and nice... My favorite is the Fried Catfish.. I have eaten a lot of fried catfish in my time and this place has the best. Also the Tarter sauce (which I'm not a fan of tarter sauce) IS THE BEST THING EVER. Its not the mayonnaise bottled junk everyone else serves. I think they make it from scratch because its out of this world... And the prices are always reasonable. By far one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. Staff is very unprofessional. Our server barely mumbled two words to us during our entire visit.
