As always, the restaurant was packed--which is always a great sign that something good is happening in that kitchen! My waitress, Bailey, was sweet, attentive, and very accommodating, making the experience even more enjoyable. I started with a cup of their famous tomato bisque, and let me just say... I simply cannot come here without ordering it. This heartwarming soup, made with slow-roasted tomatoes, shrimp stock, cream, and Creole seasoning, is rich, comforting, and truly soothing to the soul. It remains my absolute favorite--if you haven't tried it yet, I highly recommend it! For my entrée, I ordered the Avocado Multi-Grain Toast. It's a light and satisfying plate featuring mashed avocado spread over thinly sliced multi-grain bread, served with your choice of sausage or bacon, an egg cooked your way, and a fresh tomato and cucumber salad. Everything on the plate was well-prepared and very tasty. If I could make one small personal tweak, I would love to see this served on a thicker slice of buttery toasted sourdough, maybe with a sprinkle of feta on top. That's just my personal preference and how I enjoy my avocado toast--others may find this version just right as is! The search continues for my perfect avocado toast, but this was a delicious and enjoyable stop along the way. Happy Sunday, and keep sharing those amazing finds on Best Bites!

The Caesar salad I had with it had WAYYYY too much dressing, but it wasn't overpowering. The rolls they give you when you're seated as still to die for. And the cheesecake for dessert was great! The service was outstanding. The only caveat I would offer is that we were there in the middle of the afternoon, and it wasn't busy.

I've never had fried catfish before but I thought I'd expand my food horizons during my visit to Beaumont, TX for work. This place was recommended by locals and when I stopped inside it definitely seemed like a local favorite food stop. Located in not the most favorable side of town and unfortunately the shop doesn't show much pride. Wish they'd put more effort into keeping it clean; bathrooms were disgusting. I always fear that when places have dirty bathrooms, who knows how clean the kitchen is. I had already eaten my food when I saw the disgusting bathroom. Either way, I don't have any complaints for the food. The breading was crispy and really tasty! The portions are HUGE. Prices are very affordable. Food is served piping hot. Fried green tomato appetizer was really tasty. The frying is done to perfection! The only reason I took off a start was for the poor cleanliness. Other than that I thought all the food was tasty and perfectly crispy. read more

From the moment we were seated, she was warm, welcoming, attentive, and genuinely made us feel like valued guests. Sade provided exceptional customer service throughout our entire meal. It's not often that you come across someone who takes such pride in making sure her customers have a great experience. Sade is definitely one of those people. She made our visit memorable, and her service is exactly the kind of hospitality that makes you want to come back. Pappadeaux, you have a gem in Sade! My recent order was $29.12, so I presented the card at checkout. The cashier called a manager, who came over, didn't greet me or speak to me, looked at the order, and decided to apply only $20. The issue isn't the money--it's the lack of communication and professionalism. If the gift card had restrictions or wasn't worth the amount I was told, that should have been explained when it was issued. When a restaurant makes a mistake and offers compensation, the least a customer should expect is for that resolution to be honored and handled professionally. The food wasn't the problem. The service was. I won't be back, gift card or not.
