On June 19th, 2017 My wife, and two daughters went to Cheddar's in Beaumont off I-10 for an early dinner. I can't really say anything either way about the food; I ordered The Original Burger and it was fine. The only thing that was shocking to us was when a server delivered chicken strips to our table to my youngest daughter, before she realized it wasn't what she ordered we'd all grabbed a french fry off her plate. Then the server came by and quickly grabbed the plate and moved to the correct table next to us, leaving the honey mustard dip. We were in shock and afraid to make a sound. A few minutes later the table next to us was asking the server for honey mustard. It was something else! Took us 45 minutes to get a table. Got buzzed once and took us to the wrong table so we had to wait again. But once we got our table our waiter was very good. Adam was very courteous and attentive. Ours drinks took a while to fill so he gave us some complementary appetizers. Food was ok but the waiters service was the best I've had anywhere in the past year. My first experience at Cheddars was 3 years ago in Southern Maryland. The food and drinks were amazing. I have been back several times and it has not been the same. Since i was visiting TX I made a point to visit Cheddar's. Wow!!!! the food was delicious. I could not stop eating the baked honey butter croissants. I went with 5 others on a Monday afternoon. It was not crowded but service was extremely slow. I and one other person ordered the chicken tenders. When our food finally came, it was cold. Not even a little bit warm. The food was brought out by someone other than our waiter. He did not show up to check on us for quite a while. Even our drinks ran dry. I took my food home hoping to warm it up later. The chicken reheated fairly well. The fries were terrible. I contacted Cheddar's to complain online. They notified the local restaurant. Someone called while I was not home but they did not bother to leave a message on my recorder or contact me by email. Cheddar's is usually very consistent so I was surprised at this bad luck. Managements failure to try to contact me was the biggest disappointment. I'll go back but not anytime soon. read more

Food is really good but the service sucks. I saw one couple wait 5 minutes before their server greeted them. That's about 4:15 too long in my book. By far one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. Staff is very unprofessional. Our server barely mumbled two words to us during our entire visit. There were no managers to be found which is why I am assuming the staff was more interested in socializing with each other than taking care of customers. I tried ordering to-go from them on Saturday, 15 November. I called TWICE, the giggly girl answered, asked my name, then disconnected or hung up the phone. The first time I gave them the benefit of the doubt. The second time I realized it was an untrained or uncaring girl who has no ability to use the equipment they have to take an order. Her giggly attitude when talking was irritating enough but for her to hang-up or disconnect twice is a sign of a company that truly does not care about its customers. I tried to phone back to complain but that does not work, either, as you can't get a manager. I tried to go to their website to complain to their headquarters but this is also not possible. I am left believing the problem must be corporate wide. An endemic problem with employees is definitely a sign of a company that is too arrogant for its customers. Reading many of the complaints here, I find that my issue is only one of hundreds. Cheddar's has adequate food. They have horrid customer service. read more

Food is definitely not flavorful. I remember eating here couple years ago and the food was actually decent. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and my husband ordered nachos. The pasta sauce was light almost water like and they seem to have used stale tortillas for the nachos. Definitely Not worth my trip tonight. Disappointed. read more

Went to Cheddars the other night, our server lacked personality and really didn't listen to us. I don't know if they have changed management but the quality of the restaurant the last couple of times seems to be lacking. I sure hope they look at their ratings because they are going down. Perfect for girls night! Me and my girls always start a night out with cheddars or end it there after catching a movie(Cheddars is located in the same parking lot as Tinseltown Theater). They serve my favorite Moscato however I will own to it bring far over priced. You can literally by the same bottle of wine at HEB for $9.99 where as its almost $25 per bottle at the restaurant. That aside, the cocktails ate typically perfection. My husband usually sips Jameson and Coke (he swears by it) and I typically start off with a Painkiller. It's a crazy concoction of roasted coconut goodness and is absolutely lethal. So lethal, they will only serve you 2. My menu must haves include the spinach dip, the Idaho nachos, or the New Orleans Pasta...OMG! My niece and I have a tradition of eating dessert before the meal and now our new favorite is the incredibly decadent chocolate cake with a side of vanilla ice cream and fudge icing! It is heaven! The prices are amazing too! My friends and I joke we "ball on a budget." Had I not stumbled on the wine at HEB there would be no complaint about pricing as the quality is ALWAYS there! read more

The only good thing was the wait. 40 minute wait but got seated in 10 minutes. The rest was horrible. Girl training another girl waited on us. Trainer took the drink order, trainee only remember the 2 sweet teas and couldn't remember the two unsweetened. We waited just sitting there looking around for 15 minutes before the trainee came back to take our order. We had finished an appetizer before she took our meal order. And no silverware or napkins during the app. She took our order and didn't prebus (the dirty plates from the app stayed on the table until we left so no pre bussing was done in any form, and all the empty glasses from drink refills were still there too). 10 minutes after we ordered she had to come back and get half the tables order again. She left a house salad off of the order by time it was all said and done. Food comes out and we had to wait another 5 minutes for silverware. Half of one of my chicken strips was apparently either torn off or bitten off and eaten in the kitchen. We asked early for ketchup and a side of gravy but she didn't bring that till we asked again when she brought the silver ware so we had to wait again. Then we had to ask about the Togo order we made when we placed the food order earlier and had to wait on that. While we waited we enjoyed the entertainment of a worker getting the table behind us to get up from their table so they could kill a roach in the corner with a shoe. Then the roach was stuck and they had to get back up in the corner to wipe it away. Major fail on this trip. read more

Took my daughter there for her birthday last night. It was a Tuesday night, and it appeared to be woefully understaffed. I ordered the ribeye it is supposed to come with The nest of onions underneath the steak is in the picture in the menu, but it did not. It was the same for my daughter Who also ordered the ribeye. The steak was quite tough and surprising to be sold as a ribeye. I have gone to this cheddars for many many years and have watched it over the last bit of time seem to decline in service and food quality. The food is very reasonably priced. Cheddar's 2129 University Center Blvd., Charlotte, NC 28262 leaves a lot to be desired. I've always loved Cheddar's in Gastonia, NC but last two times i've dined at the one in Charlotte, NC cannot give you the food you order. Last night I ordered a loaded baked potato and croissants. Was told it would be an hour for potato and croissants were in the back rising. Last time I was at this location, same answer about croissants. I was with 2 others, so I didn't get to eat because they couldn't get it ready in time. Ask me to order something else, but I ordered what I wanted. I ordered water to drink and the other 2 ordered sweet tea. This morning I checked the receipt and we were charged for 3 sweet tea's. Most restaurant's would take a little off bill for bad service. Waitress was fine. Wasn't her fault but why can they not fixed foods that are on menu and not run out. Last time I ordered salad and croissant came with salad and they were out, I didn't get anything off for not getting croissant, except sorry and sorry don't get it. The night I went to Cheddars it was really nice. The restaurant was quite busy. The service was excellent and the food came out nice and hot and was very tasty. I don't understand understand why anyone would give this less than 4 and I will give it five stars. Been to a location in Houston and it was a much better experience. First, not kid friendly. It has been a LONG time since I've been to any established restaurant that didn't offer some kind of kid menu with crayons. That could be dealt with because I have great kids, but when my wife asked, the hostess acted like she was crazy for asking. Second, the food was average. My wife had the ribs and they were dry, but edible. I ate the ribeye which was not. I don't usually talk to a manager but I had to and that brings me to the third mentionable experience here. His name was Chris and he was a totally down-to-earth guy. Very understanding and treated us fairly. Because of him and also the good attitude of our server, I still gave them a three star rating instead of the two that I was going to give them. Cheddars has been sh*t for about 2 years now. The only reason I've been going recently is because my employer gave us all gift cards for Christmas. He spent $2,000 at cheddars and we get crap service everytime. Today I called in my order to-go. Which the 13% increase in price for to-go orders is ridiculous. They guy on the phone was very polite and repeated my order back to me perfectly. I went to go pick up the food, had to wait 5 minutes before anyone even came and helped. She printed out 4 recipets for the 4 different orders and placed them on the table. I put 4 separate gift cards on top of the correct recipets. She swiped all the cards appropriately. Then laid down the 4 recipets that I needed to sign. She was trying to rush and told me to sign them while she showed me the food. Everything seemed correct (but I was also using half my attention on signing the recipets). Then as I finish signing the last one, she just walks off. So I took the 2 bags that she set aside for me and left. When I got back to my job, I was handing out the food. She totally forgot about one of my co-worker's orders. Then one of other co-worker's order was wrong. So then I had to waste more gas to go back and have them correct my order(and let's not forget about the 13% increase in to-go prices). I get there for the second time and don't get helped for 10 minutes. Then they had to go remake the wrong order. That took another 5 minutes. So now by the time I get back to work, my food was cold and also the order that was left on the to-go counter was cold. EVERY single time I go here, it's something new. I don't even know if I want to spend what's left on my gift card. It's a waste of gas read more

The food was great and very large portions. The prices are very good and the service was great. We have eaten there a few times and always pleased. The only negative is their water but I ordered soda so it wasn't a problem. If you want a good meal at a good price then I highly recommend Cheddar's. You can't go wrong. read more

Terrible wait time . Told would be 30 minutes ended up waiting over an hour and finally left. Had a party of 9 and they were unable to seat that many people even though most if the restaurant was empty. Hostess did not care that we were leaving. We were there after 7pm and finally left after 8pm. Would not recommend at all. read more

The food,as usual tonight, was very good for the price. I love their fish tacos. However, I find the service consistently lacking. Tonight, for example, my party had been seated at least 15 minutes, possibly 20, when I had to ask for silverware on my table . Then we sat there at least another 11 or 12 minutes with no silverware. As hungry as we were we literally ate our dinner tonight at Cheddar's with our fingers... salad and all. Very disappointing. Our waitress was good and very sweet except for the fact that she should have noticed that we didn't have silverware 15 or at least 20 minutes into us being seated and requested silverware from the kitchen before I had to ask her for it. I went and found a manager and told her our experience and she did apologize. But I remember the good old days when you might have at least gotten a free dessert for your table for having to eat your dinner with your fingers. I guess nobody's doing that anymore! read more

The only reason I am giving this restaurant 2 stars is because the food was ok. The service on the other hand, was HORRIBLE!! Antonio was our "waiter" and he gave the worst service I've ever had! We were with a large group and were automatically charged a 15% gratuity and I believe he knew he didn't have to work for his tip. Our drinks were never refilled and he actually had the nerve to tell us that the 15% service charge on our checks was for the people cleaning our table....not his tip. I guess he thought we had "dumb@$$" written on our forheads and would believe him and leave him a double tip for doing absolutely nothing! He should be fired and his behavior just disgusted me! I will NEVER eat at another Cheddars again because of my experience here. The food is forgettable and the service is nonexistent! read more

One star is actually too high of a rating,!!! My husband and I were at Cheddar's 3:45 pm on 6-30-14 were seated immediately and waited on promptly. Our order was turned in a little before 4:00 pm and consisted of salad, soup, a wrap and club sandwich. The salad was brought out within 5 minutes. The waitress came by at least 6 times to let us know our food was not ready yet. Finally, the last time she came by which was 4:25 we requested she bring our check for the single salad we had received. There were maybe a dozen customers in the restaurant when we were there. In about 5 minutes the manager came by with the waitress, no food and our check. The manager apologized for the problems in the kitchen, but still gave us the bill for our salad. We will NEVER return to Cheddar's in Port Arthur. We paid for the salad, tipped our waitress and left. The Beaumont location of Cheddar's is wonderful!!!!! read more

The service was surely not up to par, and when my mother ordered the chicken pot pie the waitress came back and said that there was non; she then chose the lasagna and again the waitress came back and said there was none! She then ordered a sirloin 8oz. steak with baked potato; the steak was very tuff and the potato was not even hot; my potato was the same way; by that time we decided not to send it back since she had an appointment within an hour; and it had already taken an hour and one half to get served! just thought you may want to hear feedback, since i was told by someone else right after our experience that the night before she had gone there and it was the same thing with very slow service; although she said the food was fair.; BTW, the website does not allow locations either! read more
