It's been a long time since I've been to Cheddar's and I now know why. It's all good if it's your jam but for me, the food was not good at this location. The kitchen or waiter, not sure which one, messed up our order. Took a while to get the food and once we got it, it was not hot and very bland. Everyone enjoyed the croissants but let's be honest, carbs are always enjoyable. Lol. The waiter did the best he could. He may have been new. But he was the best thing about this visit. It was a family gathering to visit my nephew for his first year of college and since he ears a lot we figure we would go somewhere coat effective. We enjoyed the fun atmosphere. The food was great especially the honey butter croissants. I enjoyed the fried fish and shrimp. Others had the fried shrimp, New Orleans Pasta, Grilled Shrimp Alfredo, Buffalo, the chicken tenders and the Classic Cheeseburger. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The best thing about the entire time was the service. It was spectacular and we were well attended to. We will be back soon. read more

Standard food nothing that wows you. We were seated and found out the beer on tap Was out. We're not given any silverware and had to ask for it after the food was served. Steak was over cooked. I just got one of these by my house and have not gone yet figured I would try it out myself before I took the family. Well the first wine I picked which was by Caymus they didn't have. Then ordered their famous Chicken Pot Pie and they didn't have that. Hmm I'm sitting at the bar and there is a bad smell. I can see that it looks like a cooler is missing but there is a pipe draining into a floor drain and it looks like the floor is sinking. Not what I would expect from a cheddars. Would recommend, amazing food, when I entered and got seated around the first 5-10 minutes we get honey buttered croissants for free, the area is amazing, we got a window seat and my grandpa closed the blinds which weren't an issue for me but apparently were for my grandparents, the elderly gentleman waiter who waited to us was amazing, he's one of the best waiters I've ever had in recent years, more to add on the food experience, I got a buffalo chicken wrap, and the ranch and buffalo chicken wraps were spectacular, I also got fries as a side, and i couldn't have asked for better fries. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Stopped by for dinner yesterday evening and found this restaurant has changed since our many visits. The restaurant did not appear to be as clean or maintained as in the past. We were seated at a table in the bar and though the bartender brought us two buttered croissants immediately, he was not our server. When our server finally arrived we ordered our drinks (2 ice waters), our entrees, and extra napkins. The server stated there may be an issue with my order (chicken pot pie) and suggested I consider ordering a backup entree. I asked him to check with the kitchen before I modified my order. He left and several minutes later he returned and stated the chicken pot pie would take 30 minutes to prepare. I responded that 30 minutes would be okay as I was also getting a house salad. He left...in the meantime we still did not have our water!! More time passed and we began to be concerned we would never receive our drinks (water), so my wife decided to reach out to the bartender for our water. As she got the attention of the bartender and asked about our water our server returned with the water and my salad. Well I finished my salad and more than 30 minutes had passed, plus our server had made a couple of passes by our table to let us know that our meals should be out soon. More time passed and then finally our meals arrived. My wife had ordered the Bourbon Salmon which included a base of rice. The rice was hard and not fully cooked and it appears from the presentation that the kitchen was not too concerned. We finished our meals and had to wait again for our server to appear so we could request our check. Our table did not have a digital payment appliance so when the server finally returned he had a digital payment appliance from the bar and handed it to me to complete the payment. We have stopped here many times on our way to and from Beaumont but I think in the future we will make other arrangements for our meals. The cleanliness and our meal service were severely lacking on this visit. BTW, the bartender was a much more attentive server and his customers who came in after us were served before us, finished their meals, paid, and left before us...all while tending bar. read more

Our server was attentive he came around several times checking on us. The salad was fresh and crisp. My wife really liked her chicken pot pie was delicious full of meat with a tasty cream sauce with peas and carrots. My rack of ribs was pretty good it only cost $5 more for the full rack Taste was ok at best. No smoke flavor at all. The BBQ sauce was too sweet. They were tender but also dry. The red beans and rice lacked flavor tasted straight out of the can with sausage added. The baked potato was a baked potato nothing more nothing less. We sat in the bar area every thing was neat and clean and the fish tank was well kept and was a great thing to look at. read more

I guess everything is not bigger in Texas, as our pot pies were smaller than we were used to. Our salads were good. My youngest son had the cornmeal whitefish. The fish was really good, but the breading was heavy and a bit over cooked. For his sides, the mashed potatoes were good and the broccoli was okay. My oldest son had the country fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and broccoli casserole. He loved it! Our waitress was adequate and the restaurant had the football games on so we could keep up with the scores. It was not too crowded, so overall a pleasant experience. Came for a late lunch before going to the casino. The service was great, the ambiance was casual but I didn't enjoy my meal. I ordered the Cajun chicken and only had two spoonfuls. I didn't like the pineapple taste and I didn't see where it contained pineapple otherwise I would never have ordered that. My friend ordered the chicken sandwich which was huge. I love cheddars!! Most anywhere I go they're pretty consistent even here in Georgia and I tend to sit at the bar for one on one service and that's what I got. Came here alone working looking for something that I don't cook at home the salads here are absolutely wonderful but I wanted something a little more tasty so I went for the fried shrimp because this is not something I make much at home. Bartender was on the ball head as a game and I had a couple of beers, immediately got served when I got to the bar and when I placed my order it only took maybe eight minutes to get my order and I was all set. Reading the reviews I'm not really sure why people aren't understanding this Covid world we live in as restaurants are understaffed but mostly customers have become full of hate and that's what I see in some reviews so I needed to show some love that when you are kind to people, treat them with respect the service you get will be to the level in which you treat them. Complaining that it took too long to get food when you bring 15 people in or to say the portions are smaller this is the world we're in. Prices stay the same portions get smaller to show someway to absorb higher cost and higher labor wages to keep the doors open. Even on to go orders it's important to tip. Somebody had to put the order together somebody had to get it right the chef had to cook it so all you're getting that you don't get by eating in is an extra glass of tea or another beer so they deserve to be tipped. We were actually surprised when our tea was brought to us, because it looked nice and strong, and it is usually extremely weak. However, drinking it revealed a taste that my husband described as "mildew." I agreed after tasting my own that it definitely had a very unpleasant taste. The reason our server gave? A water pipe busted in the area. So why would the restaurant serve tea, etc., when they know there's an issue? My husband usually gets the chicken pot pie, but he said it was really dry today. I got a sirloin, which I have gotten multiple times, but today it was not anything resembling what it's been in the past. It was over done what I had requested, the meat had lots of gristle, and the texture was yucky, and had a very weird chewiness. Tori was amazing! She attentive, considerate, and went above and beyond. She was willing to answer all my questions and made sure we were happy. Our food came out at a good time and was hot. This is the best service we have gotten here by far. We ordered the spinach dip, Steak & Buffalo-styled chicken tenders with fries, and Hickory Smoked Ribs & Grilled Shrimp with Mac and cheese. The steak was cooked just right and the ribs were perfect as well. Like I said, best service by far and best server. This place does offer to-go food, but it does take a long time usually because so many people order to-go, so just be prepared to wait if you do order to-go for dinner since a ton of people do. They always make sure your food is accurate before you go, no matter how busy it is. I've never had my to-go order wrong. I love how the manager is always helpful, Mikayla. The food was good and the waiter Wesley was nice. When we sat down we saw the manager ask Wesley to take over our table. Wesley was already overwhelmed and told the manager this. Instead of the manager stepping in and helping Wesley, Wesley had to add another table (large group of 18 to handle by himself) to his area.
