My order was fine except for my ceasar salad. It looked like it was an olsd one. The edges were brown and the coutons were soggy. Tried to call about my carry out order but there is no way anyone is going to answer. check your order before you leave or you're just wasting your time and money. Really good food at an amazing price! My go to's are usually lemon pepper chicken or the buffalo wraps. Both equally delicious. This place is very popular so some days the wait staffs dependability is lacking. Our last visit it took almost 30 minutes before I had to flag a waitress down because no one had bothered coming to our table to even take drink orders. Once our food finally arrived the waitress set the plates down and took off. Didn't ask if everything looked good or if we needed anything (which we did condiments and silverware). Not once did she stop by afterwards to see if we needed anything. The food will never disappoint you, the wait staff on the other hand... we'll just pray it's a good day. read more

I never write bad reviews on here, especially for restaurants because I understand that in the food industry, things can happen from time to time. However, I feel compelled to share my experience today. We are new to the area and live right down the street, so we wanted to try this place out for the first time. 3 of us arrived for lunch at about 12:30 - there was no wait when we got there and were seated promptly. Our server almost immediately took our drink order and returned very quickly with the specialty drinks and Queso appetizer we ordered. That's where the positive review ends.... Fast forward to 1:30 (almost an hour after ordering) - We had still not received our food. We hadn't even been acknowledged by any server except for about 10 minutes prior when we were told "2 more minutes". Finally after looking like confused, hungry idiots trying to look around the restaurant to figure out what is going on, a server who was bussing the table behind us (who were seated after we had arrived, had already paid and left) asked if we needed anything: "Yeah, actually, we haven't gotten our food yet. It's been about an hour" "Oh my gosh, what did you order?" "Steak combos" "Yeah, I think I saw those sitting there, let me go check". Key words: sitting there. He left to "go check" and about 2 minutes later, out walks the manager who we, again, had to explain to that we have not been able to eat and about 5 tables around us had come and gone while we were waiting. He leaves to go check and again, returns 2 minutes later with our food with the explanation "One of the steaks was overcooked and had to be redone". That takes an hour? Whatever you say, buddy. The steaks were room temperature, at best. The chicken was rubbery. The toppings on the baked potato had completely melted (which is a sure fire sign that they had been sitting there for while). The only question we were asked after receiving the food was "are the steaks cooked OK?". The manager never returned. We saw our server once after that - when she asked if we wanted a "to go" box since 2 of us had barely touched our meals. Very nicely, we replied "no, thank you". Moral of the story: Over an hour to receive our meals. Cold food that had OBVIOUSLY been sitting out for awhile. Lackluster service. And 1 comped meal on a $60.00 check ($13.00 discount) when 2 of us didn't even eat. Thanks, but no thanks. 1 star for the drinks that were delicious. read more

This place should not even receive a star. First, the place was filthy. The floors were not kept clean and when the waitress gave me the menu it was sticky and so was the drink menu. Normally, at this point I would leave, but I was with people. It took so long to see a waitress or to even get water. It took 35 minutes and the excuse given was that the restaurant was busy. When our food finally came, the steaks were bloody and unsafe to eat. The food was cold and the waitress rarely I'd ever checked on our table. I will NEVER eat here again. I've been eating at Cheddar's since the early 80's, and each time I return to the DFW area I try to make sure I eat here once. The food is consistently good and the prices are relatively inexpensive for what you receive. My favorite is the chicken fried steak, but my friend ordered the Talapia, which she thought was delicious. Our sides were yummy, and the sweet baby carrots were like eating a healthy dessert!...so sweet and crisp. I haven't had room for their desserts in quite some time, but back in the day they were my favorite. I used to order my dessert FIRST there, just so I made sure I had room to have some. Now that I am a full-fledged adult I order real food and hope I have room for the sweet stuff after. lol! The decor hasn't changed in 20 years, but it still looks warm and inviting. The menu has a nice variety so there is always something for everyone, which makes it a great place for large groups, or diners with varied preferences for dinner. Cheddars also has a full bar, so if you are looking for a place to head out to for a Friday or Saturday night, its a good place for an inexpensive date or even happy hour. Give Cheddars a try, especially for a family, office, or group lunch or dinner. Your kids will love it, too! read more

My family went there at about 5:30 pm. Many people were waiting. After waiting for half an hour, they led to a table surrounded by many people with kids, even though there were other empty tables. We ordered a sweet tea, but we got a tea that wasn't sweet and they added sugar when we asked to change it a sweet tea. The staff asked us about the food before we eating. The food here is extremely good for the price that you're paying. I would compare it to a Chili's, but much cheaper. Cheddar's also has more of a selection compared to Chili's, in the sense that they have more steaks/meat and poultry items available (only $13 for a ribeye steak or a full rack of ribs). However, the service here isn't that great. Sometimes we luck out and get an awesome server, but most times, we get someone that is only there when we order and when we pay for our check. Don't have high expectations for your waiter when you come here. We're most likely never coming back to this Cheddar's location again. My boyfriend and I made a pick up order at the bar recently, and there was such a foul smell inside the restaurant. After a few minutes of sitting in disgust, my boyfriend found out that it was the bar counter that was the cause. It was a dirty mildew smell mixed with sweaty palms. It was terrible. Along with that, you know those straws that they put into your cups? Don't drink out of them. At Cheddar's (I don't know about other locations), all drinks come from the bar. When my boyfriend and I were waiting for our food, we saw the waiters handle dirty money, rags to clean tables, and unclean trays before taking the tip of your straw and putting it into the cup for you. It was such a displeasing sight and was something that could easily be fixed within the restaurant. I have never seen waiters touch unsanitary things and then touch the part of the straw that you put your mouth on. The sole reason why this place isn't out of business is because the food is so cheap and good. But seeing the habits that the waiters show out in the open makes me feel that the chefs in the back are no better. My wife begged me to bring her here and I'm glad she did. Didn't care for waiting outside for a table but I understand why. This place was packed. Our server was swamped but she did her best to keep us happy. Now the food. In one word Terrific. The steak was great and the Cajun pasta was incredible. There was nothing left on the plate. This is a place that I will be returning to. Only fallback were the mixed drinks. Although they tasted fantastic you could tell that they were short poured. Very unprofessional!!!! Laughing and playing in the kitchen being VERY LOUD!!!! I got the chicken tender and shrimp combination and the shrimp was very nasty!!! CHICKEN TENDER WAS GOOD THOUGH!!! Tried to make a reservation for a party of 20. It would be for my wedding rehearsal dinner. The young girl in spoke to on the phone was rude and refused to be of any help. 20 people spending about $50 a piece and you give me no service? That's a big amount of money to be turning down. Arrived at the restaurant at about 11:15 did not have a waitress over to our table for about 15 minutes it was a little after 12:10 before the waitress Marcy finally came over we went ahead and ordered because my family and I already had looked at the menu and knew what we wanted to order. I order took a good 30 minutes before it was brought out to us. We also noticed that our table was the only table that had plastic utensils. Every table in that section other than ours had regular silverware. Once we got our order my husband who ordered a shrimp plate was given a coconut shrimp plate which he did not order coconut not only did they not give him the right shrimp they never brought out his coleslaw. We seldomly ever saw our waitress so we had to wait a while before we could even ask for the coleslaw . We were not able to ask for any refills on our drinks due to our waitress not being in the area.We finally decided to leave .We never received the coleslaw . The customer service was horrible. I really have always had good experiences at other cheddars that I've been to with the exception of this one and I will if ever asked strongly recommend that anybody NOT eat at that location. read more

They don't let me give negative stars. From the minute I walked in from the hostess to the waitstaff it was like me being there was an inconvenience to them. When finally approached by a server, I ordered my beverage and appetizer, he asked if I was ready to order the entree I was not. This did not please him. It took so long to bring out my water, he brought the fried cheese curds at the same time. They were hot, yet needed seasoning but he had disappeared! W 1as had every other employee. There was one other couple in the place that I could see. They ordered the same time I ordered. The next time I saw my server-- literally 12 mins.. he was delivering the other table's entrée. My food now cold and seasonless I was done and asked for my check and a manager. He brought the check and ran it gave it back BEFORE getting the manager. While I was gathering my items the manager showed up and said he would credit my card since it had already been run. I hadnt been to a cheddars in forever.. this could be why. read more

If I could give zero stars I certainly would. If you're thinking about ordering to go from this place, DON'T. I placed an order for an appetizer, that's all, and arrived before my pick up time. I checked in on the link like I was supposed to and sat in the car waiting for about 20 minutes before I decided to call them. I sat on hold for another 7 minutes until I became fed up and went inside. I asked if they had an order for *my name* and the girl goes "yeah probably" and there were at least 5 orders just sitting. The runner was just sitting down talking and I made her aware I had been waiting for 30 minutes and all she had to say was "oh ok". Now my food is cold and I'm more than ticked off. We frequently eat here and have never had a problem. Excellent service, delicious food at a reasonable price. We'll continue to come here for one of my favorite meals - chicken dijon. We eat in the restaurant area which has stone floors which are kept clean. It used to be one of my favorite places to eat years ago. Came back to the same one and MAN has it changed. The staff up front was fantastic. The wait wasn't bad at all; the place was nearly empty. The food and the service explains WHY there was next to no wait... The food had no taste and our waiter was so awkward and inattentive. The Food: I ordered chicken strips with French fries, red beans/rice and cream gravy. The chicken was dry and chewy. Definitely nothing like I remembered. There was no taste--the only taste there was came from the gravy. The fries had no seasonings on them, not even SALT. I get there's some on the table but they were really unappetizing. The beans/rice were the only thing I really enjoyed on my plate. They had a slight kick to them but damn were they good. Wish I could've just gotten a large bowl of that. My mother ordered chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. She said the steak was dry, as well, and there wasn't enough gravy. There was about a spoonful, each, of the mashed potatoes and the green beans. She was also served dinner toast that was cold and looked, literally, just like plain toasted bread. The Service: Wow this dude was awkward. He stumbled telling us his name after making us wait a good 5 minutes to even APPROACH the table after we sat down. He took our orders and our food arrived promptly. My water glass became empty twice and I always had to wait for him to bring more. The most awkward part of the meal was him bringing us fresh drinks and our check then asking if we needed anything else..... Uhhhhh. All in all 2.5/5. well it used to be excellent, now its average with an above average wait time. service is spotty at best usually below average. staff seems to grade customers based on perception of how much tip they will get, I arrive with my family and we don't drink alcohol so they think poor tip so we get poor service. a real shame since my average tip with good service is 20 percent and up to 50 percent for excellent service. Dennys up the street sees me more often and they have figured it out, staff greets and seats us quickly and gives really good service, last trip to chedders I left 15 percent and would have left less if my wife didn't feel sorry for our server, wait and wait for refill on drinks, food slow out of kitchen and restaurant was not full. read more

Just another American style restaurant. I usually stray away from these places just because the food is never satisfying. First, the service could do better. Glasses were not filled and our waiter did the bare minimum. I ordered the Salmon lunch with cheese and broccoli and mashed potato side. It was good. Everything was a little dry but I expected that out of a chain american restaurant. The salmon was cooked well, not at all fresh, but still had some flake to it. I had to give an additional star because I ordered and Tortilla soup and it had a great taste to it! The portions are quite big here and most people end up packing their foods to-go. This place is like one of those typical chain restaurants that you go out to on a day date or whatever you just want to go out for a dressier occasion. I will say that the outside looks pretty nice and that the inside is the same. The service is also pretty good. We were quickly greeted and lead toward tables. I ordered a lasagna spaghetti (I forget the actual name) and it was okay but really not memorable. We had not eaten here in at least 4 years and had kind of forgotten about it. We were in the area today. We rarely end up ordering the exact same thing, but this time we both ordered the Cajun Pasta. It had shrimp, chicken, and sausage. Oh my gosh! It was SO yummy! I am not a fan of really hot and spicy food and had already checked with the waitress to see if she could tell me how spicy it would be. She had no idea, so I chanced it. I'm glad I did. It was very good. It does have a kick to it, but I ate it and loved it! There seems to be more waitstaff than customers at times, which was odd because it didn't make my tea glass stay any more full. LOL. The waitress was sweet, prompt with the food, and she did a fine job. My husband doesn't like it when his water or tea glass is empty before they notice it, but he will never say anything....he just complains to me. She let our glasses get empty, which I think can be quite important if you are eating something with a little spice to it. It wasn't terrible service, and it wasn't perfect service. It was GOOD service. I'm giving our experience a 4 out of 5. read more

This place is hopping on a Friday-Sunday night, so be prepared for a wait. But it's worth it! The servers during the day don't seem to be as good and fast as the evening servers. The food is great, doesn't usually take too long. I usually choose the chicken alfrado or the chicken pasta salad. Both delicious! The food portion is very nice too, but you always pay for it. The salad is about $11, which isn't too bad, but not cheap either. One complaint is there drinks have doubled in prices, a strawberry margarita once was $3.60ish and is now almost $7!! I was shocked. Things have changed a bit here. We haven't been in awhile because there is usually a wait. Not today - which was probably a sign. Onion stack was not good. Batter had zero taste and was not crunchy in the least. The rings themselves were much smaller than previous visits. We ordered beer battered fried shrimp. That's why we came. These, too, were much smaller than the past and the batter looked like it was slung on. Fries that came with the entree were food but alas, the coke slaw that was a part of the entree was not delivered. When we asked about it, our waiter went to check. He came back to say they were out of cole slaw but we were welcome to substitute any other side. We didn't take advantage on principal. Kitchen should have stated that when we ordered. Ok, so review questionable because I actually work here part-time, BUT I believe it to be fair. I have had just about everything on the menu at least a few times. The menu added a "New Orleans" Pasta recently which is Pene pasta with a thick cajun alfredo sauce. It is tossed with sausage, chicken, and grilled shrimp. I friggin NOMMED the crap out of this dish. So Very Good. The one thing I can say is I am not too impressed with the balckened shrimp. Kinda rubbery. I definitely suggest trading out for the fried shirmp which adds a crispy texture to the dish and gives it a fuller dimension. Now for the good sheesh.... The Om Nom Glug-Glug... A NEW DRINK MENU! If you've had drinks at Cheddar's before, you were probably disenchanted with the whole experience of drinking at a family style resaurant. However, Cheddar's has a new drink menu with like 15 or 16 new drinks including a Spicy Mano Mojito, Texas Sweet Tea (AWESOME!), a Grapish Martini and a Cherry Peach Martini. I name these four because they are by far some of the best creations I have had. The Texas Sweet Teas is Lemonade, Vodka, Sweet Tea Vodka, and Amaretto. Holy freakin goodness. Yes please, by the pitcher. They only allow each customer 2 because they are only $3.50 and Quite large (Served in a giant schooner). Anyway. Definitely worth giving Cheddar's another go if you've been there before and if not give a first round! read more
