The facts are as follows: 1- The boxes are the exact same equipment that I installed & serviced in 2007 and NO ADVANCEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE. 2- The interactive so called features are feeble & pathetic. 3- YES the DVR still incorporates a "copy to VCR" function. The recording space is roughly one third of that offered by Direct TV and Verizon for example. 4- The WIFI is unreliable as well. 5- Ironically Charter is only a few bucks cheaper than their competitors while their product is years behind. 6- AND last but not least Charter does not even offer NBA TV, LEAGUE PASS OR ANY SPORTS PACKAGES WHATSOEVER. I live in West Covina and I am very interested in our city government. Thankfully channel 3 carries the council meetings. That was until we turned in spectrum recorder. Spectrum says because we don't have that (saving us $15 a month) we get the feed from Norwalk and because of this we get Norwalk as our local station. What sense does that make. Their response was basically if you want local West Covina because that's where you live get the box back and you can access your city's feed. So pretty much screw you customers, we don't care. With all the technology there is and with all the money spectrum gets from its customers you mean to tell me there is no way to provide this basic service to customers. read more

So for the Internet spectrum has been rock solid. Not keen on the Meir streaming tv but that's just my opinion. Late 2022 I moved my phone to spectrum mobile (aka Verizon). First let's talk about "nationwide 5G. It's BS. There isn't even city wide coverage in Corona. Especially south of Ontario Blvd. I do a lot of walking for exercise and am without 5G coverage most of the time. And when I say walk I mean 4-6 miles through the area south of Ontario Blvd. I have called the service center and reported the issue a couple of times and it would easily be solved by adding 5G repeaters in the dead zones especially along Green River/Foothill where I can walk for several miles without coverage and even while driving experience many dead zones. As a result I'm taking my 6 lines and moving back to AT&T which isn't much better but better none the less. Oh, as for the rest of nation wide 5G - which is a legal play on words - don't travel to any rural areas west of Texas and expect coverage outside of a major city. This is not against the store but online support. We have a family plan and a year ago we bought an additional phone. Today we found out that they have been charging us for 2 phones all this time. They said they were going to open up a case but that most likely they won't refund us the whole year we've been paying for a phone we don't have! Now how does this make sense!! Unless you plan on sticking with them for life don't start service with charter. We had them for a couple years and service was ok except at peak times the internet would bog down. We switched to another service and mailed our equipment in. We then called and cancelled the service. About 6 months later charter called me stating my bill was 6 months past due, so I transferred to whatever department they sent me to for discrepancies and of course the confirmation code is not valid. I told the lady they were wrong and we cancelled 6 months prior. Now almost 2 years later they've hit my credit report with a delinquency. I moved to the area 3 years ago. Spectrum gave me internet for 49.99 for one year. After the year, it went up to 65 dollars. I asked if I can lower the price and they told me there was no offers for me and 65 was the lowest price they can offer me. Another year went by and it jumped to 84.99 a month for for internet only. We only used Charter Spectrum for internet only. 85 dollars for internet is a bit much! So I called again to lower the price. Nope!!! Told me that's the lowest price! I saw a commercial for T-Mobile Internet and gave them a call and they offer it in my area. Soon as my wireless t-Mobile Internet box came and I had it hooked up and running, I called spectrum to cancel. Then magically they told me they can lower my bill to 50 dollars a month for one year. I told him that I've called before asking about my bill to be lowered and they never do it! Now suddenly they want to lower it. Nah. Im good with the one year scam of I get the good price then it goes up a lot after the year. T-Mobile Internet is price locked and it's just as fast as cable too!!!! I will never go back to spectrum. The absolute worst service ever for a communication company! They do have one of the lowest prices. They manage that by having the no one in service! I was with Spectrum when I purchased a new iPhone 14. I could not activate it. My phone number cannot transfer over to my new phone. I called and they said that I was with another carrier and my phone needed to port and over. Only problem is that my old phone was with Spectrum, so why does Spectrum think that I need to port over. This was 3 days ago. I called today and they told me that their activation specialist don't work on the weekend. Internet is awful, every night around 11:30 it completely cuts off. I've called several times and run every diagnostic you can imagine.

We ended up having a dispute with our bill regarding fraudulent charges. My husband called and talk to someone on the phone and they said they would get back to him but ended up shutting off our service. Of course we have a house full of people here for Christmas including kids that wanted nothing more than to watch elf and other Christmas movies. My husband ended up going into the spectrum in Rancho Cucamonga on foothill thank God he did because he found Rene Escobedo. Rene worked endlessly to resolve our situation which was not easy. He was so friendly and really did everything he could. The best customer service we have had in a really long time. My advice to you is if you need to go in to ask for Rene Escobedo. After a reprovisioning on Thrusday Aug 29th my internet went down. Called tech support they said it was due to the reprovisioning and my modem not being in their system. The person on the support line added it to there system and it came back up. Friday Aug 30th My internet went down at 9am called back and was told it was a problem with my wiring and they said the would have to send a tech out to fix the problem but they would not be there till Sunday at 8am. they said i had signal leakage I got a call back and was told that someone would be out at my house between 1 and 2 pm on Friday Aug 30th we waited and at 2pm the tech showed up he walked into my house stopped then said he was being resigned to another job and that someone else would be coming to fix the issue and then left. I called support and they told me that no one has been reassigned. I had to make 5 trouble tickets before I was able to talk to someone who was willing to help and got someone to come over at 4pm. all the support people who I talked to said that the tech was not supposed to leave until the problem was fixed. The tech came at 4pm and was there till 6pm they found that an out of date box that they attached to my cable network for a phone line I no longer had was awakened during their reprovisioning and was causing all the problems. I had such bad customer service from Spectrum and no one was willing to help if i had the option to go to another internet provider I would but they are the only ones that service my area. I am extremely disappointed with their customer support they dropped the ball big time. read more

I would give them Zero stars if I could. -First off the customer service call center is very rude and pushes products you dont want or need. I just needed TV and Internet and the rep on the phone would not place the order for just TV and Internet and told me I had to get a phone. I finally gave up and ordered on line with out a phone (for less then she was quoting all three for ) - Customer service at the local office are not knowledgeable about cable service and offer little to no help with questions or concerns. - The cable service is a complete JOKE. HD channels are limited and the equipment provided was Extremely old. They advertise an advanced HD interface DVR and what I got looked like the user interface of a VCR from 1998 (I am not joking see the attached pictures) - Internet service is not as advertised, I am paying for 60 Mbps and I understand I wont always get that speed but i have NEVER reached 60, my most recent was less then 5 MB. Over an hour and a half on the phone with Spectrum just to get a streaming account set up! Spectrum's customer service bungled this so poorly that I spoke with SEVEN customer service representatives. The final representative even tried to upsell me into a package that would cost me $40 more a month! After they sent an installer to my house to install a streaming package(?), I realized that Spectrum is just another gigantic corporation that insulates themselves with incompetent people. Their installers confirmed that the customer service reps were trying to take advantage by installing a cable box (including a $50 install fee and an additional monthly service charge) against my will. The only thing they have going for them is Sportsnet LA where I can watch the Dodgers, but all this is not worth it. Avoid Spectrum. read more

Worst customer service in store. I've been returning devices from business and I've visited multiple locations and everyone was super helpful and patient answering any questions. This location unfortunately would not help at all, apparently their return policy changed from 11am at a different location to 3pm at this location where they couldn't take my devices and I could only return to a UPS location. I also tried to make a payment to close out the account and they wouldn't do that either I had to call customer care. It would be great if all locations had the same policies and not just the ones that benefit the reps. read more

They did not come out to hook up my cable boxes and finally sent some one out because he had to go up the pole in order to get service. I ordered ONE additional apple box, I was sent two additional boxes and because I did not send the additional boxes back in 14 days they sent me a bill for 529.00 and told me that their mistake was, in fact mine. Did not want to give me a bill adjustment. I can't wait until my (so called not contract) is up and I will get another cable company. I don't recommend them to anyone EVER. read more
