Christian our technician was very knowledgeable. I originally asked for an Ethernet cable to be run through our 2 story house to help with an internet connection problem for a desktop. He quickly realized the real issue that needed fixing. He cleaned up the desktop, updated software and had it connected to the WiFi which it had not done in months. He also recommended another solution which has left the whole household with stronger internet connectivity. It was amazing to have his help and experience. These guys are awful. I had scheduled them through Amazon. Side note - they must be cheating on their amazon ratings because the reviews on yelp are much more in line with what I experienced. I had them scheduled for Friday. They rescheduled for Saturday (they don't ask if the time slot will work they just tell you they are coming during a 3 hour window). Then they rescheduled the first 3 hour window on Saturday, then again, and then a third time. I spoke to Christian (who couldn't care less and is extremely condescending). Christian promised they would be here between 8am and 11am am today (Sunday). Then the tech cancelled again. The funny thing is I've been an amazon customer for 10+ years and I think I've only complained about 4 orders. I get boxes regularly throughout the week. They will be getting an earful about these guys and I'm telling them that they are rigging the amazon reviews. I also want this done for free because Text4Tech is so incompetent. I don't buy the 4 star reviews - yelp is much more accurate. Case in point - you can see through Christian's comment below how much he "cares". He is the business owner. Waited 6 hours on Saturday and they finally showed up. 3 hours after the appointment window with only tools, no wall mount and no cord concealer. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR ANY REASON!!! I would give negative stars if I could. I paid $120 via Amazon for assembly of a new basketball hoop for my 5-year old's birthday. Everything was going fine, the installer called me to set up a time and we were all set. That is until the owner of this company called me and tried to BS me that the specific hoop I ordered required an additional $150 to assemble, and if I didn't pay it he would cancel the appointment. He also wasn't able to give me any specifics as to why such a large upcharge was needed, when the parameters of what his installer needed to do were clearly within what I had already paid for. He had no specific answers, he just wanted more money. I absolutely lost my mind on this guy, told him this was a classic bait and switch and he should be ashamed. I then called Amazon to complain, and apparently this guy tries to do this all the time. He calls customers the day of the assembly with massive up-charges, tries to negotiate for more money, and Amazon actually gets a commission on his upcharges. Just terrible. read more

Great job done by Christian . Did a wall mount install with hidden cables, it came out perfect. I am a bit demanding in general, because I usually need things to be done exactly the way I want them, and It was really great at accommodating all my requests (like, for example, running all the extra cables I needed). STOP!! THESE GUYS ARE CROOKS!!! I've been waiting years for these bastards to make a Yelp page, and now here it is, and now here I am. Hey Text4Tech--this is wonderful that we get to meet again like this! I'm so happy that I get to warn people about your janky fucking joke of a business, ruin your sham of a highly-rated Amazon service, and possibly save people from the goddamn nightmare you put me through. Are you ready? HERE'S THE STORY: It's the dead of summer in Los Angeles, and I bought my grandmother an air conditioner on Amazon to combat the heatwave. I'm a busy guy who doesn't even get weekends off, so I was delighted to see that Amazon offered installation services as well, in this case Text4Tech. They had good reviews, Amazon is a stand-up company, so I naively thought, "Hey, if Amazon is vouching for them, what could possibly go wrong?" I happily paid $460 for the air conditioner, plus $125 for the installation service, and high-fived myself for being a great son. The air conditioner arrived a couple days later, Text4Tech went out to install it, and the bullshit started almost at once. I got a call at work from Christian hitting me up for an ADDITIONAL $125 ON TOP OF THE $125 I ALREADY PAID AMAZON, claiming it was for "custom retrofitting" i.e. a piece of plexiglass since the window opened vertically, not horizontally. It was hot as balls outside, I didn't want my grandmother stroking out in the heat, so I grudgingly paid it. Just so we're keeping tabs, this installation job is now $250. At last the job was finished, and Christian sent me an invoice FOR AN ADDITIONAL $90 FOR SUPPLIES, claiming they had to pay out of pocket--what kind of fucked-up handyman doesn't bring their own tools and supplies to a job? Didn't that additional $125 that you call "custom retrofitting" cover that? I basically told him to go fuck himself, that I wasn't paying that, and he turned into Monty Hall on "Let's Make a Deal", knocking twenty bucks off the total like he was a good guy or something. I reported them to Amazon, who covered the $90 AND gave me $20 credit for my troubles, and I bought Conan the Barbarian on DVD and wrote a scathing review on Text4Tech's Amazon page, which was immediately removed. Shame on Amazon for still employing these scam artists--clearly this is a money grab, and Text4Tech doesn't care about doing a legit job. I have no idea how they ingratiated themselves with Amazon to still have an affiliation with them, but the fact they are still affiliated is ludicrous verging on insanity. Oh, and the icing on the cake? They did a shiteous job with that "custom retrofitting" for my grandmother, the cool air leaking through poorly-sealed cracks around that magic plexiglass. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!! Would give 0 stars. Ordered a printer install through Amazon. Set up appointment for a Monday. No one showed. The tech called & said he would come Tuesday at 10. No one showed although I got an email with a 5-8 install time later that day. No opportunity to choose a time that would work for me. Again...no show. This time no one contacted me. On Wednesday left multiple messages trying to get this install done - no response. Called the original tech & was told he was sick but he would get someone out by 1:30 on Wednesday. One more time - no show. I asked for a phone number so I could talk to a person. No direct contact was ever provided. Finally called Amazon who could not contact anyone at this company. Cancelled order but Amazon could not find a back up vendor who could provide the service. Ended up call Aegis Computer Tech who took care of the service right away. I asked Amazon to stop using this vendor & I'll follow up as long as necessary to get them removed. Sounds like lots of other people got screwed by Tect4Tech. read more
