I was very pleased with the technician's skill and how quick she was doing my nails. I was disappointed at the end that I did not receive a quick shoulder massage because every other salon I have ever been to has offered that as a complement. Maybe I've just gotten lucky in the past. Charming Nails is my favorite nail salon in DC - they always do a quality job. Recently I tried their newest nail technique: SNS. SNS uses mineral-infused powder on your natural nail, and it is supposed to last longer than both gel and acrylic without the harmful chemicals or UV light. It has been 3 weeks and not ONE nail has chipped or broken off - they still look like new. I am super happy with SNS and it is my new go-to technique. I recommend trying it! You wouldn't think much seeing the entrance from the street, but it is a very nice little salon that is much calmer and relaxing than your average salon, complete with classical music playing. Went here 2 weeks with a friend excited to find a reasonably priced nail place in Georgetown! My experience since has been horrible. Got taupe colored nails that turned green within a week and the tips of those turned purple. The soft gel CRACKED (which has never happened to me anywhere else before). Now multiple nails are bleeding and have broken off of my flesh. Never coming here again and telling of my friends to do the same. read more

It was clean but i felt like I was in someone's studio apartment. The paint on the walls is chipped. The towels they use look like rags. I sat on what was basically a folding chair. After reading many positive Yelp reviews, I'm so glad to have tried this little gem! During my first visit, I got my standard gel mani and regular pedicure with the owner, Kevin. He was careful and patient--I could tell how much he loves his craft and salon; during the appointment, he gave quick tips and tricks to his apprentice who was shadowing him. Very disappointed with my gel manicure that I received today. My nails are not filed evenly and the edges are jagged. My pointer finger is completely crooked with one edge very noticeably higher so my entire nail looks messed up. The polish is also not painted evenly to the tips so it makes the uneven shape of all of my nails more obvious. I was very excited to try this nail salon given all of the positive reviews, but this is the most sloppy gel manicure that I have ever received. The two week guarantee is nice, but I will have to have them redone before that since they look so bad. I wanted to love this place but unfortunately cannot recommend it. read more

I went to charming nails last Wednesday for the first time, i was a bit suspicious about the salon when walking up the old stairs however when i entered the salon it is really clean and i was so much impressed by the cleanliness and the high hi-gene. At first i had a pedicure with kelly and i was so much impressed she is very meticulous and professional she is amazing. Also, i loved the scrub and the hot towel thing, so much pampering. I am always very meticulous when it comes to my nails but with kelly i did not say a word she rocks!!!! Then i had a manicure with another technician and it was good too. They offer good cash deals.
