Best nail salon I've been to in the DMV area. Good location in Georgetown. Maybe a 5-10 min walk after you're done shopping on M street. Called in the morning of to book an afternoon appointment. When I arrived they were ready for me- no wait time at all. They don't overbook so the wait if there is any is super manageable. The service was exceptional and I will DEFINITELY be returning. I got a regular manicure (taking a break from gel which I've had for several manicures in a row). I usually hate getting regular manis because before I even leave the salon there's chips and imperfections but for the first time ever my nails are absolutely perfect!!!! I can't wait to get my gel done here in the future. Price is reasonable too and they play mainstream pop music in the salon. I def recommend but I almost didn't post this because they seem so popular and busy I hope they'll have a spot for me next time haha. I got my nails done at Charming Nails once last summer. That was before I moved back to DC last Nov. I was on my way there this evening and the traffic bad. I checked the web and it says open until 8pm today. I called to check and was told they are closing at 6:45. I am not sure if it was that they could I am a black girl or what. I called and was able to walk in five minutes later and get dipping powder done on my nails (in under an hour too)! Sophia was wonderful, she did a great job on my nails and I loved that she used the gel topcoat to finish. For a Georgetown salon they were not too expensive for Dip. I frequented here for nearly 4 years until I moved and back then it was Kims Nails. They provided excellent waxing and gel nail services. Parrafin hand treatment was the standard! Anyways I continued to go once it became charming nails because of Kevin's meticulous expertise. He's definitely the perfectionist. He's not a big talker but staff is accommodating and professional. I was very pleased with the technician's skill and how quick she was doing my nails. You wouldn't think much seeing the entrance from the street, but it is a very nice little salon that is much calmer and relaxing than your average salon, complete with classical music playing. After reading many positive Yelp reviews, I'm so glad to have tried this little gem! During my first visit, I got my standard gel mani and regular pedicure with the owner, Kevin. He was careful and patient--I could tell how much he loves his craft and salon; during the appointment, he gave quick tips and tricks to his apprentice who was shadowing him. After getting to know me and my taste (sparkles and funky, long nails), Kevin advised that I come see Kelly next time. After my appointment with Kelly last night, I know this will be my new nail salon home. I received a relaxing pedicure from another employee (Brian I think) and then got to Kelly for my gel manicure. Charming Nails is my favorite nail salon in DC - they always do a quality job. Recently I tried their newest nail technique: SNS. SNS uses mineral-infused powder on your natural nail, and it is supposed to last longer than both gel and acrylic without the harmful chemicals or UV light. It has been 3 weeks and not ONE nail has chipped or broken off - they still look like new. I am super happy with SNS and it is my new go-to technique. I recommend trying it! Went here 2 weeks with a friend excited to find a reasonably priced nail place in Georgetown! My experience since has been horrible. Got taupe colored nails that turned green within a week and the tips of those turned purple. The soft gel CRACKED (which has never happened to me anywhere else before). Now multiple nails are bleeding and have broken off of my flesh. Never coming here again and telling of my friends to do the same. read more

Very disappointed with my gel manicure that I received today. My nails are not filed evenly and the edges are jagged. My pointer finger is completely crooked with one edge very noticeably higher so my entire nail looks messed up. The polish is also not painted evenly to the tips so it makes the uneven shape of all of my nails more obvious. I was very excited to try this nail salon given all of the positive reviews, but this is the most sloppy gel manicure that I have ever received. The two week guarantee is nice, but I will have to have them redone before that since they look so bad. I wanted to love this place but unfortunately cannot recommend it. read more

I went to charming nails last Wednesday for the first time, i was a bit suspicious about the salon when walking up the old stairs however when i entered the salon it is really clean and i was so much impressed by the cleanliness and the high hi-gene. At first i had a pedicure with kelly and i was so much impressed she is very meticulous and professional she is amazing. Also, i loved the scrub and the hot towel thing, so much pampering. I am always very meticulous when it comes to my nails but with kelly i did not say a word she rocks!!!! Then i had a manicure with another technician and it was good too. They offer good cash deals.
