We randomly stopped in traveling from out of town. Came on Friday night at peak time and had a 25 min wait as expected for something special. Based on parking lot I was afraid it would be much worse. It's gone downhill. I went for dinner last night. I did like that we could waitlist on Yelp because the wait was around an hour. We had no problem checking in when we arrived. We went to the bar to wait for our table and friends that were joining us. We ordered two perfect margaritas- our favorite there. Strangely, they're no longer on the menu. The bartender accommodated no problem though. They're not as good as they used to be. Recipe doesn't taste the same. Much more sweet and sour. No longer my favorite margarita in town. Our table was ready 25 minutes sooner than expected and we almost missed out! Hubs and I ordered the chicken fried steak to share and each a side salad. $12 to upgrade to two side salads! They don't mention that part. I asked for the dressing on the side and she brought it out drowning in dressing. I couldn't eat much of it. Hubs said his Caesar just tasted "wet". The croissant roll also had no flavor. Chicken fried steak came out and the first bite and each after tasted like dirty old oil. I couldn't even taste the gravy. There are a lot of great things to say about Charleston's, so I'll summarize here: 1. WAITLIST::: This is obviously a popular and busy restaurant, so sometimes there is a wait to be seated. I really appreciate that they take your name and your phone number so that they can text you when your table is ready. Gone are the days of holding that germy little buzzer that many restaurants use. (I have even used the Yelp app to sign in here, and it gives you an estimate of when your table will be ready with live updates! Very cool.) 2. ATMOSPHERE::: The atmosphere is very appealing. The lights are on the dimmer side, which I appreciate, and there are candles at each table. Though the restaurant is busy and therefore "noisy", the separation of rooms and the overall layout of the dining room is designed to minimize that noise, so it actually feels quite cozy and not overly loud. I definitely add points for clean and spacious restrooms here, too. Additionally, they have outdoor seating, which I have yet to try (Oklahoma doesn't really cooperate on too many days out of the year) but the view of the pond is a very pretty setting. 3. APPS/SALADS::: I don't typically order appetizers at restaurants, but the menu here for starters has many nice options. As far as salads go, the Walt's Champagne Chicken Salad, (I think formerly waldorf chicken salad?) is sooo delicious. 4. ENTREE::: I've been to C's 3 times in the last several months and each time I have yet to stray from the always spot-on Chicken Piccata. The artichoke caper sauce is addictive. I tend to sub the seasonal veggie for fried okra (I love that they have fried okra??!) My husband is a little more adventurous than me, and he is a big fan of the baby back ribs (fall off the bone!) and the burgundy mushrooms. The menu has a wide variety of plates that appeal to all eaters and wallets. A meal here can add up for sure, but let's be honest, they could charge a lot more and I'd still be a customer. 5. DESSERT/DRINKS::: again, I'm not really an "order-dessert-at-restaurants" type of person, but they had plenty of delicious-sounding options. Last two visits we have enjoyed the Blackberry Mule and the Peach Old Fashioned. Overall, 10/10 on experiences so far here at Charleston's in BA. read more

Have eaten it at Charleston's for a long time. The absolute worst service I have ever had. My pork chops had blood coming out of them my mother's champagne chicken salad had hair in it and no chicken. All the manager could do was say he's sorry didn't particularly seem to care. Didn't offer us anything but say he can take it off the tab. Our appetizer was cold when it arrived. Thankfully, when we complained the manager removed the charge from the bill. However, the waitress didn't get the message so it was still on the bill and we had to ask her to remove it. I got the chicken tenders and the batter wasn't fried as well as usual. While in Tulsa, on business, I had the chance to catch-up with some dear friends who live there. They suggested we meet at Charleston's. We scheduled dinner for at 6:00 pm on a Tuesday and when we arrived the place was already packed. The food was outstanding and the service was superb. Man, today I was craving a good hamburger. My absolute favorite burger, is the Hickory Burger they serve at Charleston's. It is a thick, large, perfectly cooked, juicy burger, loaded with cheddar, onion, Canadian bacon and a delicious smokey BBQ sauce. It is delicious. Charleston's has many great items on their menu and I have tried most of them, but I keep coming back for this burger. My wife had her favorite too: WALT'S CHAMPAGNE CHICKEN SALAD. Great place for a romantic night out with your honey. We went on our 25th wedding anniversary. I ordered the prime rib, but the sold out, so I had the Hawaiian Ribeye, which was the special. It was damn good; juicy with hints of soy sauce and pineapple. Dessert consisted of Key Lime Pie, which is always a winner here, and the not always available, Banana Cream Pie. My wife said it was the best she had ever had, and when she finally shared - I'd have to agree I want to shout out to our waitress, but can't remember her name she did a fantastic job. We checked in through yelp and when we got there, even though the lobby was full, we got right in. Our waitress was delightful! She made us feel right at home and gave us suggestions based on our interests. I chose the oven roasted chicken and my husband chose the fish special. They were both delicious and plenty of food! I especially enjoyed chatting with our waitress, who was VERY pregnant but still working her booty off, yet took the time to realize we were not from the area. She gave us ideas of things to do in the area, what to avoid due to a huge storm that rolled through the previous weekend. She was so helpful!! I met an old friend at Charleston's for lunch and it was a very nice experience. I hadn't eaten at this location. As I waited for my friend at the entrance, there was an intermittent stream of people arriving for lunch at 11:30. I was a little concerned, but the hostess was able to seat us promptly once my friend arrived. Soft drink service was prompt, and they kept serving us well throughout the meal. Service seemed to slow down once we paid, and we continued visiting for some time. We were offered to-go drinks as we prepared to leave. I had the catfish dinner, and the fish, coleslaw, and tartar sauce were all tasty. I substituted mushrooms for fries and they were good. My friend had Parmesan-crusted chicken, which looked a little overcooked around the edges but he seemed to enjoy it. All portions were good-sized. We were able to hold a conversation without raising our voices, so the noise level was reasonable. Overall, food, ambiance, and service made for a nice experience. read more

The potato and salad were very good but my steak came well. If I'm spending $30 on a sirloin medium I expect it medium. The steak was completely dry. I love that this restaurant has a good selection of items for everyone. I've been able to eat where when I was eating meat, and when I wasn't. The staff has been consistently friendly and helpful here and the food is delicious. Really clean tables and waiting area with nice mood lighting. Makes a regular meal feel special.
