POPULAR OPINION: New Orleans has some of the best food in the world. I wanted to get to @chapterivnola for grand opening but my schedule wouldn't allow it but, the time was still right. I visited for lunch and love the cozy vibe. I love the location Gravier street for lunch when I am in the CBD. There's paid parking on the street near the restaurant. Music, drinks flowing at bar, food served quickly, quaint restrooms and a beautiful display of Black art. Great service and great food I am a fan. Sitting at the bar or table are great options; depends on your mood. The menu has elevated creole food but also has some traditional dishes. For instance, the BBQ shrimp are served in an omelette. Gumbo is a traditional choice on the menu. Really enjoyed the BBQ shrimp omelette. I also enjoyed the sweet chili wings and I am not a pork eater but those ribs were givin it honey. I can't wait to visit for Sunday Brunch when they get Live music. I recommend visiting with a lunch date during the week or some people are off on weekdays- go have a self care day and enjoy yourself alone. My family and I went to Chapter IV for lunch and ordered the Oyster Rockefeller as a starter, and then shared the Grilled Redfish and the Oyster BLT entrees. All dishes were excellent. The Oyster Rockefeller had slices of pickled red onion and jalapeno with each oyster. The BLT had a "house made" sweet mayo on the toasted bread with lots of golden fried oysters. The Redfish was a large fresh piece that had a delicious glazed topping. A great meal with service that was fast and personable. Will be back soon! read more

A great addition downtown! Chapter IV is a great lunch spot before the Saints play, a work lunch spot, or a Sunday brunch. Located within walking distance of the hospital, Superdome, and numerous office buildings, it's perfect for lunch. Note - they are only open from 8am-3:pm Sunday - Friday. Saturdays they are closed. The artwork and decor really paid homage to the city, the location, and the icon that is the Chase family. Very classily decorated, but trendy and fresh. Service was excellent! We started with the BBQ shrimp, with some of the best garlic sauce I've ever had. I had the burger for lunch, which the only way to describe it was JUICY! My colleague had the Chapter IV salad with salmon, which looked delicious. I had lunch there on a rainy afternoon when I first arrived in NOLA for business conference. Interior decoration is pleasant. I sat at the bar area where many were having drinks with their meal. I elected to stick with food which was tasty. I ordered a sandwich + side of grits. All in all flavorful meal and good service. I would recommend people to try it if in the area. read more

I'm a fan and so will you! Chapter IV is full of light, spacious, and airy. But less about the atmosphere and more about the food. I typically order Oyster Rockefeller to experience the chef's variations on a classic half shell appetizer. To my surprise and delight, there was no half shell, and the flavor was slightly different bolder, sweeter, and spicier than I've ever tasted before. We had the creole grits and it was everything BJ said it would be, the gumbo was delicious, my husbands red beans and rice omgosh his omelette so tasty, our daughters chicken and pancakes so good and wait don't forget the crab fried rice, explosive with taste! Yeah we're definitely coming back. We didn't have reservations but we were accommodated in less the wait time given. Thank you for an awesome time enjoying our trip and food. Red Fish was cooked to perfection. The drink presentation was appealing to look at and the drinks were delicious. The server was very attentive and kind. I have not had dessert at lunch in a long time but everything else was so good I figured why not and the bread pudding and cheese cake did not disappoint. This place was absolutely amazing! A great way to end a weekend girls' trip, celebrating 35 years of friendship! It was bright and inviting, with some of the most beautiful artwork I've seen in a restaurant, well...ever! The service was excellent, the atmosphere, perfect. My food was delicious--the redfish was seasoned just so, the yellow squash and zucchini cooked to just the right consistency. The crab-fried rice was something I could have eaten all by itself, with zero complaints. My girlfriends ordered the fish and grits, and it looked delicious--if I could have dairy, i would have taken a deep dive into that dish! The ambiance is inviting and warm. It isn't very loud, good for a group dinner or afternoon brunch. The service can be drastically improved. The employees should be proactive when addressing patron's needs. I had several individuals pass me up with not one asking if I need assistance or if I'd been served. I literally had to track one person down to get assistance at the bar. The service was a total turn off. After waiting longer than what was told at the host stand, we were seated.Upon being seated,the server was very rude.My party and I ended up telling the server that we were going to finish our drinks and leave in which the server responded "if you're not going to stay, I need this table". While we understand the place might have been busy for reservations, we ended up having to take our drinks to go . I've been trying to get to Chapter IV since they opened a few months back, but time was never on my side. Finally, the stars aligned and my schedule was clear, and Thursday was the day that I finally got to pay Chapter IV a visit. If you've been keeping up with my reviews for quite some time, then you know I made a reservation and took myself on a breakfast date. When I got there, I was able to park right in front of the restaurant, which was a huge plus because parking downtown can be and is beyond stressful! Note: there is metered parking along Gravier St., so plan accordingly. I am so glad I came at the time I did because aside from the awesome crew that was working, it was myself and two other people in the entire space. I was greeted and seated by my server, Ms. Lisa and she was the sweetest server and offered up some amazing suggestions. Just about everything on the menu sounded delightful, but I wouldn't expect anything less than that coming from Leah Chase's bloodline. Before I get into the order, I have to let you all know that this restaurant was the absolute cutest. It was spotless and there was so much natural light it made the space feel even more open. The next time I come, I plan on sitting at the bar because it is simply stunning. The photos of the restaurant really doesn't do it any justice. Since it was 10am, I didn't want to do lunch, so I ordered the Fish & Grits..YALL, if I could go back there everyday and get the fish & grits, I would. The beautiful catfish filet was seasoned and friend golden brown to perfection and topped with crawfish & andouille maque choux and laid on a bed of some of the creamiest grits I've ever tasted. I took my time with this mean because I wanted to savor every delicious morsel that was presented on my plate. When I did finish the dish, I was sad because there was nothing left for me to savor. To accompany my dish, I ordered an espresso martini, Calm in the Morn. Now, I've had my fair share of espresso martinis, some good and some downright awful, but THIS ONE, was a 10/10, hands down. I didn't get the bartender's name, but I remember her face and I don't want anyone else making this drink for me, but her! It was *chef's kiss* very tasty. I appreciated it because although there was vodka in it, I wasn't slapped in the face with it. It was perfectly mixed in with the coffee liqueur and cold brew. When I was done with my meal, Ms. Lisa did suggest dessert, but I was so full, that I had to pass on the bread pudding, which she ranked as her favorite, followed by the apple cobbler then the cheesecake. She checked on me frequently and made sure I had everything I needed and was comfortable during my time there. Although I passed on the dessert, I told her that I would be back and I would make sure to try the bread pudding because she gave it such high reviews. If you haven't been to Chapter IV yet, please plan to get there sooner rather than later. You will not be disappointed. read more

This was the first real chance I had to try Chapter IV since the grand opening. Contrary to what the other reviewer said, I had fantastic service. I went for lunch around 1 pm, and it wasn't very crowded. The hostess asked me my seating preference and sat me right away; the waitress quickly came out and introduced herself and took my order when I was ready. Everyone was super friendly (with service exactly what you expect for a restaurant), and the atmosphere is bright and cheerful; the art is gorgeous and there's nice music playing. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, and it was hands down one of the best ones I've ever eaten. The sauce was just right, the pickling flavor and toppings were fantastic, and the chicken was perfectly battered and fried. Definitely not too dense but very juicy and the perfect crispiness. The fries were good--they are the thin and crispy style, which personally isn't my favorite, but they were still yummy. I'm just so gassed about the sandwich. All in all, I'm glad the restaurant is open and here! Super accessible spot and fantastic food so far. I wish the prices were a little more accessible so I could justify coming more often, but the portion and quality definitely justify the cost. I imagine the Sunday brunch will be fun--my waitress said that's when live bands will be playing music. All in all, I'm quite satisfied! read more

I flew into town and was looking for some authentic New cuisine and stumbled upon this hidden gem. Upscale ambiance, but comfy enough to show up in a T-shirt and jeans. Definitely date worthy. I had the BBQ shrimp omelette - huge and fluffy with large shrimp; the sauce was amazing! The crab fried rice, which I shared with my mom and daughter, was tasty with lumps of crabmeat and was a perfect compliment to my omelette. Our waitress was lovely; very pleasant and attentive. My husband and I were in town last week. We went to several restaurants but Chapter IV was the best. The food was absolutely delicious! The drinks were creative, had a good amount of alcohol and were right on point. We went for lunch and came out full and extremely pleased. The fish and grits were amazing. But the oysters were as well! I don't think you can order a bad meal. It was all excellent. The service was great as well. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch.
