Monday's was easily one of my favorite food stops in New Orleans. The sweet potato beignets were honestly the best dessert I've ever had. The catfish & grits were phenomenal too -- perfectly seasoned, crispy, crunchy and fresh. Everything came out hot and flavorful. Customer service was excellent from start to finish. It actually started raining during our visit and the staff immediately sprang into action to make sure everyone was accommodated indoors comfortably. Monday gets really busy so I would suggest you make a reservation. Even though we did, we did still have to wait a little bit for our table to be cleared. Very lively restaurant and perfectly suits a nicer brunch vibe. I really enjoyed the frozen margarita flight I got. The flavors were fantastic. Favorite may have been the blueberry. Sweet potato beignets are actually not sweet at all - without the sauce. I think that's what carries most of the dish. The number of times I've been here, can't believe this is my first review! The atmosphere is different, and I love it! It gives some type of garden oasis, but it's a really nice outdoor patio concept. The food is amazing, and service is great. I've had a number of items on the menu, but the salmon burger is definitely a top choice. Boudin eggrolls are soooo good, and the drinks are always just right. My favorite is the pineapple sage julep. The only thing I would drop a star for is the amount of flies. Had such a great time and the sister restaurant we decided to visit here as well. We were able to make a reservation in advance so that was nice. Short wait time upon arrival to be seated. There was an option for patio or inside, and we chose inside. Seemed to be a little short staffed as server was covering many tables. Unfortunately, we chose to dine there that evening for the oyster special, but was told they were sold out. We also wee unable to order any frozen cocktails on the menu as well. Ended up getting Gumbo as I rewlly wanted oysters. Out server was MIA was a good 10mins and we couldnt locate her and had to ask another server let her know we neded assistance. The drinks and the wings were tasty and the happy hour deals were good but that was about all this place could accomplish. They were understaffed so even though it wasn't packed it took very much too long for drinks to come out. They made us wait for our entire party to arrive to be seated but there were open seats everywhere so it felt super unnecessary to just make 6 people stand until 2 people showed up. It was very clear that the waitstaff was required to fight for their life to work there. She tried to upsell us every chance she got; if we weren't ordering a drink, are we sure we didn't want one, or another one? If we did order a drink, did we want to add another shot to it? If we had a burger, did we want to add extra toppings? Could we have room for dessert? Could we pretty please leave her a good google review? It was a lot. We felt like she was being required to ask these things. The length she wanted us to stay and drink and eat contradicted the menu's notice that we were only allowed to be there for 2 hours. The expensive truffle parmesan fries tasted like cardboard and not like truffle in any way. The shrimp tacos were inedible-- rubbery and overcooked, 2 shrimp in one and 10 in the other, shrimp thickly coated in some kind of chili powder, so few toppings that i couldn't even tell they were there on purpose at first. After a medium drive from Houston I wanted to unwind and enjoy a happy hour, and it only felt right to try Monday for my first time on a Monday. This was my first food stop for the night so I kept it light so I had room for a beignet later. I ended up going with the boudin egg rolls and pineapple sage julep to sip on while I watched the game at the bar. The egg rolls were nice and crispy and their house made viet sauce really elevated them! I enjoyed the flavor of the pineapple sage cocktail, I should've had two. My bartender was friendly and attentive throughout my time. Monday has a variety of seating to choose from, a charming outdoor patio as well as indoor and bar seating. It's a nice place to catch a vibe, watch a game, hangout with friends or just people watch. I caught an Uber to avoid the headache of finding legal parking. I really do not want to leave a 2 star but it took 3 hours but the food is a 5 star once you get it! We ordered dang near the entire menu. Table for 18 of us and everything once it came out was on point- fresh - hot and good! We did make a reservation so not sure about what was goin on the back of the kitchen. Comes with one piece of fried catfish that was perfectly seasoned and fried to perfection. The crawfish etoufee that came with it was also delicious and seasoned very well. Initially, I thought the portion size could've been bigger (maybe I was just being greedy because I had heard such great things about the dish lol) but after finishing, I realized it was the perfect amount of food. Not too heavy, and I left feeling satisfied. We also ordered a few sweet potato beignets for the table and yes yes and YES! Sweeter than most of course because of the sweet potato, so I only ate one, but man was it delicious! Tasted like a sweet potato pie and a beignet mixed into one. I had the caramel apple lemon drop which was gorgeous and I recommend because the sugar caramel rim was lickable. It was a tad pricey for me, and a friend ordered the mimosa flight for a few more $$ --it was a rainbow of colors and seemed like you get more bang for you bucks with 4 drinks. I had the catfish and grits. Fish was fresh and hot, grits were creamy and smooth. Everyone agreed the grits were some of the best we've ever had. And the best part of the morning, in my opinion, the sweet potato beignets for dessert. They tasted somewhat like a funnel cake and seemed to be made with flaky layers of dough. Mmmm. This was honestly the best restaurant I went to during my state in New Orleans. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and everything was 10 out of 10. I was so full from the appetizers that could not even order an entrée, but I did get to sample the lamb chops & mashed potatoes, which were both good. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection. But the star of the show was the sweet potato beignets. I was super excited for these and they did not disappoint. We booked for a hookah experience, but did not see any hookah. I was so excited to finally make it into Monday, but the service from both of the bartenders on Monday evening was pretty bad. Between them and the wait, I don't think I'll be returning soon. I was quoted a wait of at least 35 minutes from the nice host. I decided to grab a drink while I waited so I approached the bar. The bartender asked what I wanted and I politely let her know that I'd like to order one of the frozen drinks. There were two, unmarked drinks spinning in their frozen drink machines. She starts to pull on the lever of one of them, when I asked what the two drinks are. Bartender: They're the same Me: What are they? Bartender: Margaritas Me: Okay (even though I usually like salt or Tajín on the rim) Bartender: Do you want a flavor in it? Me: What are the flavors? Bartender: What flavor do you want? Me: I'm not sure. I don't always get flavors. Bartender: Well, I'm not telling you the flavors because you must like yours strong. Me: I don't like my drinks strong. Bartender: *Places my drink in front of me* Me: *sips* What are the flavor options? Bartender: Whatever flavor you want. Me: Bartender: And don't say strawberry. I took my drink to the patio. My friend and I decided to play the giant game of Connect 4. Never mind, it was broken. After over 30 minutes we peaked inside to find seating at the bar where we'd eat our dinner. We ordered food and more drinks from the other bartender. Of everything we ordered, we had to ask for 60% of it more than once because we'd be waiting for a while for it before the bartender would admit that she didn't put the order in. Meanwhile, the riddler bartender would loudly proclaim every 30 minutes that she was ready to go home and couldn't wait to leave. We noticed that the frozen margaritas with flavor added that we ordered while waiting to be sat were $2 more than the frozen margaritas with flavor added that we ordered while dining. The price difference was never acknowledged by either of the bartenders. The truffle fries and wings were fine. There is far more outdoor seating than inside. They have a spacious covered patio where you can wait out your time; it was hot but they have fans posted everywhere to help keep you cool. All reviews said the sweet potato beignets are a must and I see why! They were hot, fluffy and perfectly sweet, for sure the star of the show! Chargrilled oysters on Tuesdays. There are plenty of TVs to watch sports outside. There is a bar cart on the front patio so you can order cocktails while you wait for a table. The food was really good and the prices were reasonable for what you get. Keep in mind you cannot split checks so if you have a large group work that out beforehand. We went to Monday's on the suggestion of several people: all of which suggested the sweet potato beignets. When thinking we needed a reservation, all there was were reservations after 10p. However when we arrived at 730p, the place was not crowded at all. We opted to sit at the bar instead of at a table. The bartender was pleasant but definitely got in the weeds quickly when a lot of drink orders came in and she was the only one working on them until another bartender came over 10 minutes later.
