    10. Triple Delight in Garlic Sauce Special 20. Dim Sum Roast Pork Bun
    Darren G.

Service here is very speedy, let me tell you, the guy at counter was to the point and made sure he got your order right, asked if you needed utensils and sauces, plus was sure to thank you. The dim sum roast pork buns were delicious, pillowy buns, filled with savory BBQ pork, very rare to find a place that makes them, only the second place I know that does. For the daily specials menu section I like the concept since I know not everything can be on the lunch menu, but that section fills in the gaps. For triple delight in garlic sauce, all proteins, were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed there was even amount of meats, between the shrimp , chicken and beef. Veggies got treated well in the menu, plus plenty of garlic sauce. Now the pork fried rice, let me tell you, definitely will not order again and do white rice, I mean the rice was pretty bland and just overall it felt like a afterthought to them when making it and you can tell taste-wise. Otherwise this place is pretty solid and treats the community well. Definitely will have grab another pork bun when am over that way.

    57. Singapore Rice Noodles

The food from this spot was actually pretty good! I don't like Chinese food from just every where. Some of it tastes super greasy and makes my stomach turn. This was not the case here. The chicken and mixed veggies had a cleaner taste. It wasn't drowning in greasy sauce that usually saturates everything. There was a light coating and that was just perfect. The Singapore rice noodles were just so delish! They were nice and spicy, just like I like them. All of the spices were perfect and the serving is just massive. The noodles were nice and tender and the meat and shrimp was exactly as I'd hoped. Everything was really good and this will likely be a go-to spot. The prices are pretty average but the quality tastes a lot better. I really enjoyed my meal!

    4. Scallion Pancake

Delicious Chinese spot. A hometown favorite for good reason. All our staples are delicious here: fried rice, lo mein, seasame, kung pao, scallian pancake. I will say the last time we ordered fried vegetarian dumplings and they were sooooo off- definetly not fried and they were very bready/doughy almost like buns? Skip those but otherwise you've got a whole menu to chose from!

Quite a lot of well made and tasty items tonight.

Many years ago, there were several Chan's Peking restaurants in the Poughkeepsie area. I recall having lunch frequently at one which billed itself as "Chan's Peking V." Looks like there's only this one in the area now. I don't if they downsized, consolidated, or had some sort of "Last Chan Standing" contest. I could see this one having won that. We ordered quite a lot for this first order, including 2 soups, steamed vegetable dumplings, "dim sum," an orange chicken combo platter, and moo shu pork. It came with all the expected extras such as rice, dumpling and plum sauce, fortune cookies, fried noodles, and enough packets of soy sauce, duck sauce, and mustard to handle three times this much food. The food arrived still warm and ready to eat. The hot and spicy soup is simply billed as "hot," and it does have a small but not overwhelming kick. The steamed vegetable dumplings have a much thicker batter and are good but better with the dumpling sauce. The orange chicken was also slightly doughy and could have had a bit stronger orange flavor but also had some kick due to what looked like small amounts of hot pepper mixed in - enough to add flavor, not overwhelm. The best part of the meal was the "dim sum" appetizer, which was actually pork shumai. I'm not sure why they don't just call it that, unless what they serve for this appetizer changes from time to time. The moo shu pork was great, but the pancakes were too dry and fell apart on assembly. While I didn't have it this time, one of the other things that I recall always being good were their noodle bowls. As I recall, it's just different enough from traditional pho to need to be called something different, but still just as tasty. All in all, everything I've ever had at any Chan's has been quite good - it's too bad this is the only remaining one, but I'm glad it's still around.

1 Star I am…read moreextremely disappointed with how my daughter was treated here. My daughter attempted to pay for her food using Apple Pay, and the payment was processed twice on her end, with the money being deducted/held from her card. The employee told her that neither transaction had gone through on the restaurant's end. Instead of recognizing that this could clearly be a payment processing or technical issue, this woman proceeded to treat my daughter as though she was intentionally trying to avoid paying for her food. What makes this even more unacceptable is that my daughter never took the food and left with it. She handed the food back, remained there, and patiently waited while trying to figure out what happened with the transactions. She then waited for me to come back into the restaurant with cash to pay for the food. Despite all of that, the woman actually made a comment along the lines of how "crazy" it was that my daughter supposedly "didn't want to pay for the food" and accused her of trying to steal. That accusation was completely unnecessary and inappropriate. There is a huge difference between someone refusing to pay and a customer attempting to pay twice, having the transactions show against their card, and the merchant's system apparently not receiving them. That is a PAYMENT ISSUE that needed to be investigated--not an excuse to accuse a child of stealing. My daughter did exactly what she should have done: she did not leave with unpaid food, she returned the food, she waited for the situation to be resolved, and she waited for me to return with another form of payment. After the way she was spoken to and accused, I no longer wanted the food at all. I am not comfortable accepting food from an establishment after an interaction like that. Payment systems malfunction. Transactions fail. Authorization holds happen. Those situations can be resolved professionally. Accusing a child of stealing when she remained there trying to resolve the payment issue was completely unacceptable. Would have given a zero star if it was an option!!!!

Wow. Pretty bad/lazy food…read more Dingy waiting room, even though they seem takeout only. Ordered sweet & sour chicken. What I'm used to is tender chunks of white and dark meat chicken stir-fried with green peppers, red peppers, sliced onions, spices, and a zesty sauce. What I got was packaged breaded chicken from a freezer, warmed up, and a small container of sweet-and-sour sauce to pour over it. No vegetables or anything else. The included "pork fried rice" was just yellow rice with about a thimbleful of pork and no vegetables or egg visible in it. My wife's dinner was similarly bad. A Panda Express would have been a huge upgrade from this. So sad that a small burb like Hyde Park with its excellent Culinary Institute down the road, can't expect better Chinese food from a place this.

Seriously... the service was pretty fast to order and waited less than the usual 15 for my meal. I give them credit definitely the best chicken teriyaki skewers ever, other places you barely get any meat and it's dried out like jerky consistency wise, nope here you get big juicy pieces of tender and well seasoned chicken, eat more like a meal than appetizer. For the shrimp with garlic sauce, could been way more spicer since it was very mild to say the least. The shrimp was cooked well and very large and plump, the veggies were okay, fresh and bathed in a generous amount sauce which is another plus, sometimes place get cheap on sauce. Worth coming back here when they had electricity to get lunch.

They answered the phone , "Yes we are open to 10pm" so we make a bee line to Yeungs Kitchen. This place was packed with people picking up orders and more coming in as we waited for our food. Super busy spot off Dutchess Turnpike just past Adams. We ordered Fried Dumplings, Shrimp Toast, boneless spare ribs, General Tso with veggie lomein and Sweet Sour chicken. So far hands down best Chinese food since moving to Dutchess County. It's a bit of a drive from Hyde Park and we pass 3 other Chinese restaurants but I honestly think the food was amazing and not greasy. I will Definitely try them again and hope to make this my go to Chinese take out place. PS they are open Christmas and New Years.

Plus thanked for my order as well. So for the food, shrimp were cooked perfectly same with broccoli and bathed in plenty of sauce, so glad they were not cheap with it, skewers were tender and flavorful. Even though it took a shorter than usual time to it, there was no loss in quality. I did notice this first place I found not to offer a soup with lunch specials, was bummed about that, but on the flip side their lunch specials were cheaper overall price point.
