This large open space has various pieces of historical info about the Darwin Martin House, but it also provides a venue for a cocktail party (up to 150), a formal sit down dinner (up to 100) or a lecture space. I like this space because it is long, open and has unobstructed views throughout. You can really see what is happening from anywhere in the space. You will overlook the Darwin Martin House from this (mostly windows) space. Its an unobstructed view. Gorgeous day or night. The restrooms are modern and functional. There is a space for coatracks, or you can have a coat check. I'm not sure if there is a choice of caterers, but the food I have had at a few events has been good. The service professional and unobtrusive. Its available 7 days a week for rentals. While they don't do weddings or wedding receptions here, they are open for anything else, including the rehearsal dinner. It unique and beautiful. You can decorate to make it "your own" too. I was a little wary about the immediate surrounding area, since the streets immediately around the venue were cobblestone. This made it kind of hard to walk, when it wasn't super well lit. I was also confused by the parking arrangement in the area, since it seemed like the garage had some access restriction and the parking around the backside of the building also had confusing signage. This is not a criticism of the business whatsoever, just an important note for the other aspects of your visit.

Amanda, the event coordinator, was amazing to work with from start to finish. She was incredibly helpful, met with us multiple times to make sure all the details were worked out, and went above and beyond to make our event exactly what we wanted. We loved that we were able to customize so much of the space and make it feel like our own. Amanda also worked closely with our wedding coordinator to handle setup, which made the entire process so easy for us. We were even able to borrow some of Iron Works'/Amanda's personal décor, which saved us money and the headache of having to purchase everything ourselves. She also helped us design an image for the video wall, which was such a cool feature to have displayed on the stage! The vibe of the venue was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted more of a fun wedding celebration/party rather than a traditional wedding reception, and Iron Works was perfect for that. We did not have a sit-down dinner, and instead had plenty of food, drinks, dancing, and time for everyone to hang out. The vast majority of our guests really seemed to love this style of celebration. We also found that we spent less than we would have at a more traditional wedding venue, while still having an amazing and memorable event. The audio was another huge highlight. Props to the audio team! It was so cool having our wedding at a venue that is designed for music. We had a DJ, and the sound was incredible. I think Iron Works would be especially awesome for anyone considering a live band. The bar staff was also fantastic -- super attentive, quick with drinks, and just had great vibes throughout the night. We did a consumption bar, which was a really nice option and gave us some additional flexibility. Setup and breakdown were also incredibly easy for us. Amanda and our wedding coordinator handled everything, so we really didn't have to worry about the logistics. We were also able to leave some things behind and pick them up the next day, which was a huge help after a long night of celebrating. Overall, we are thrilled that we chose Iron Works for our reception. The flexibility, atmosphere, staff, and ability to customize everything made it such a great fit for the type of celebration we wanted. We would absolutely recommend Iron Works to anyone looking for a wedding venue that feels a little less traditional and a lot more like a party. We're already looking for reasons to plan another event there!

The thing I loved the most is the virtual tour that you can choose instead of a physical walk. What you see on that screen is EXACTLY what is in that building. The room was spacious. The owner and property manager were fantastic. We had a slight issue regarding the AC circulation and it was handled quickly and efficiently. The communication and customer service was impeccable. I highly recommend this center, and look forward to doing more business with these ladies.

It was nice to be able to sit and enjoy the show free from the crowds. The sound quality was mostly good but at times I found it was very loud and hard to hear what the musician was saying. Didn't get any drinks or use the bathroom, so I can't comment on this aspect. Overall, I thought this was a great venue.

My estimate is a capacity of 400-500 chairs, in rows of 14 the floor, plus the balcony. I was there to see Judy Collins, who still has a wonderful voice. (She is 87). A friend asked why she was not performing in the Mary Seton room at Kleinhans Music Hall. I think the acoustics are better here, as are the slightly padded chairs. It is certainly more intimate.

Everyone raved about it and everything was absolutely delicious! I could have eaten those lemon bars all weekend. The thing that put everything over the top was the courtyard. Everyone did not see it as soon as they came in but once they did venture outside, no one wanted to come back in. Good thing the program part of the banquet was already over. We took wonderful pictures. The fire pit was lit, and everyone just wanted to stay for as long as possible. I only wish we could have stayed past 10. The only downside was the A/V. But i think if you are bringing your own speakers and things, it would be fine. All in all, I would absolutely, unquestionably refer this space to anyone looking to have an event.
