Best restaurant in Brooklyn probably nyc great food and great environment and get the pork chop with the cherry pepper sauce

Dinner for 4 on a Sunday night. Crab cake appetizer was half cold, obviously reheated, and not well. Calamari and zucchini appy was standard, but good. You can't ruin a spinach salad. I had the 1/2 paperdelle w/braised ragu and the sauce had way too much wine vinegar, way too heavy for the pasta. Crusted salmon overcooked and dry. Pork Osso Bucco, again, was overcooked, tasted burnt, and the sauce was bitter with a burnt taste. Maybe their steaks are better, but I can make that at home. Not going back. read more

When I first went to Chadwicks for my birthday. I thought it was going to be pricey because everything looks fancy and beautiful. Prices was very reasonable compared to other steak restaurants I've been to. Me and my boyfriend order porterhouse steak for 2 and let me tell you OMG it was delicious!!!! Their steak definitely became my top 3 of restaurant to go to. The straks were cooked perfectly and came with two sides which a lot of steak places don't really do. It was just amazing. read more

The service was great. The waiter Joe explained the menu and the special dishes patiently. The food was delicious. We all love it. Two thumbs up! The children wanted to go back again for more steak next time. The deserts were fantastic, the Peach Melba is the bomb! The environment was fantastic. The gentleman who walked us in was very polite. Had a good not great experience tonight. The ribeye special was really not good. The fat on this steak was really terrible. Filet Mignon we had was good but that's a given. What's with the driest most tasteless mashed potatoes I've ever had why put them on the plate & that weird bacon jam if the meat is good no sauce should be needed. Salad and fried calamari appetizers were really good. Peach melba was sick and that's in a good way. Service was good. I might go back hope they find some cream and butter to put in their potatoes. read more

I started going to Chadwick's a few years back, after looking for a steakhouse in Brooklyn, and one I could get a reservation. It definitely is a favorite of the local residents, waiters talk with regulars at the bar and tables like old friends. The interior decor can't compete with Keen's in the city, but then again the casual, homey feeling at Chadwick's is mostly absent at Keen's. Steaks can't be beat here! Black & blue is what you get, the kind of char that invites you to take the bones home, so you can naw on them in the privacy of your home! I always love a wedge salad and Chadwick's has a good one, and hands down their fried calamari is the best around. We always get both and something else to start with. For steaks, I like the porterhouse for 2, which my daughter I got and my son always gets the T-bone. The waitstaff is top notch! White glove service. read more

I love me a good filet mignon, but if that's what you're looking for, DO NOT GO HERE! The most chewy, bland piece of filet I've ever had. LET ME INTRODUCE YOU TO MY FRIENDS, SALT AND PEPPER!!!!! I literally chewed it and couldn't swallow so my napkin was full of chewed up expensive filet. The Octopus was rubbery, the chicken wings tasted like fish?????? The worse $200 I ever spent in my life. If you want a good Filet, go to Outbacks in Bayridge, it is flavorful and perfectly cooked every time. The only good thing about this place was our server, Patrick. He was so polite, attentive and good spirited. This is an excellent spot for steak in Bay-ridge. I've been coming here for many years, and the food is always fantastic. The service is also very attentive and on point. I came here last night. For an appetizer, I had the Chadwick's Crab Cakes with Wasabi Aioli, Sweet Thai Chili Mango Slaw, and Micro Greens, delicious. The entrée was perfect FILET MIGNON w/BLEU CHEESE Whipped Potatoes, Green Beans, Ale Battered Onion Ring, and Bacon Jam were cooked to what I asked. Probably my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn. Never had a bad experience here--from the amazing, quality T-Bones to the friendly and attentive waitstaff. Quality is also very consistent. We were not impressed with the food. Drinks were good though. I ordered one of the specials- I think it was bass. The fish was so thick. This place is a tried-and-true gem. I've never had a bad meal. Actually, I did have a bad meal there. One time I had the orrrechiete with broccoli rabe and sausage. It was totally undercooked. Really enjoyed tonight. Great steak, great service. Both me and husb ordered ourselves T bone steaks. They were yuuuge. Perfectly well done and delicious. The place got extremely packed and super loud but it didn't deter us from having a good time. We'll definitely be back in the future. We originally meant to go to Ho Brah Taco two streets down but it was extremely packed and I really didn't feel like squeezing myself into a can of sardines only to sit by the bar and eat tacos. If I wanted to just go to some hole in the wall or get some regular food I'd just stay in the neighborhood and not go out of my way to Bay Ridge. So I figured we'd be better off with some nice place to sit down and eat properly. And we love ourselves some steak. Luckily, I looked up on Yelp that Chadwicks was only two blocks away. It's my go to place in Bay Ridge. Start at the Bar with Roy the bartender and have a delicious well made cocktail. It's true that I currently reside in Brooklyn's equivalent to Siberia. It's also true that many of my reviews of restaurants and bars draw parallels to past relationships and women in general. So as the chronicles continue, I decided I couldn't buck the trend. So do you remember when you were in high school? Do you remember when you scrambled to find a hot date that was guaranteed to put out on Prom Night? After weeks of this mating ritual (and countless cock-blocks from your friends) you settled on the perfect combination of elegance, intelligence, attractiveness, with just a pinch of sluttiness. That's what Chadwick's was. She was that girl. She dressed up well, she appeared refined and sophisticated, and her service was spectacular. We danced all night together and flirted via her Caesar salad and chicken in a sweet rue, with spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. She was fine throughout the evening and then we get to the after party where I'm banking on her to avoid false advertising, and really focus in on her sluttiness. She has a few drinks and goes off with another of my friends. The sting of that crappy feeling is what I ultimately felt eating here. It's a decent place, and you can come to expect the quality (which is edible) and good service. It's fairly pricey, especially for Siberia. It just left me wanting more. I wanted to be hooking up with the slut, not my friends. Walked in and were greeted by a lovely staff... Sat down and server came right over. Bread and some house made pepper cream jam (it seemed like), yum. Ordered a Guinness- very fresh. Drinks came right away. Calamari w/zucchini as an app- super tender calamari and exotic crispy, thinly sliced fried zucchini on top. Great app. Very unique and the sauces were so fresh and tasted like homemade marinara. They gave us more when we asked- such great staff and owner. I order filet mignon- cooked perfectly. Asked for jam and blue cheese dressing on side, glad I did because the filet was so tasty didn't even need the extra sauces. Soooooo good and cooked perfectly!!! I asked for med-well to well I like cooked well meat but still tender and they managed to cook it perfectly. I'm impressed. Doesn't happen easily. Husband ordered t bone which he said was cooked perfect for him, too. As for sides- incredible, crispy, yet smooth on the inside home fries. Wow. Also spinach tossed with Vidalia onions. They weren't stingy with the sides either. Such a great place. Too full for dessert. 5 stars- if I could give more I would. The owner is doing a great job! Keep it up. Great staff, server was on point and so were the bus boys, great food, great quality, clean, friendly. We will hands down be back soon. The only little annoyance is that they don't take reservations unless it's 5 or more. I would've like to come a little later if they took a reservation. I have been here many times throughout the years and have never been disappointed. Tonight I had dinner at Chadwicks with some relatives and had a spectacular meal. The meal begins with fresh bread on the table, served with a choice of butter, a red pepper dip, or herb infused olive oil. The oil and the pepper dip are amazing but the bread was just OK. Nothing too special, which is surprising because there are some wonderful bakeries in the neighborhood that specialize in awesome bread. Next, we had salad, which made my taste buds sing...spinach drizzled with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing, some kind of delicious granola-like crunch, goat cheese and warm onion rings. I would have never thought to put all of those things together but apparently the head chef (who won on the show Chopped) is a culinary genius. Next, I had the pork chop which came smothered in a hot pepper sauce that was the perfect mix of spicy, sweet, and savory. It came with sautéed spinach that was cooked perfectly and potato wedges that were neither greasy nor dry. I could barely finish. My uncle had the T-bone steak which looked amazing. He asked for a vegetable that was not on the menu and they made it just for him. My aunt had salmon that she enjoyed very much. We were all stuffed, but we shared dessert...key lime pie, which honestly was just average. Service was fine...prompt, professional, friendly but not intrusive. Decor could use a little updating, but judging by the crowd that was in there with us (Sunday afternoon around 5), this place caters to an older crowd. Way over rated in my opinion . I had one of the specials for a Wednesday night a veal chop . The chop was huge but lacked taste and the veggies that came with it were soggy and tasteless . I don't understand how this restaurant got 4 stars. After reading all the glowing reviews I decided to try this place. We arrived on a Sunday with a party of eight and there was no hostess up front. We stood there for a good 5 minutes until a waiter noticed the large party standing there by the entrance. The decor was very dated but that is irrelevant if the food is good. We ordered the clams, scallops and the calamari to start. The clams was 14 dollars for 10 clams. It was the most ridiculous app I have ever seen for that price. The scallops were 16 for three scallops. For that price I expected a bit more sustenance. The calamari was pretty decent so at least that was okay. Onto the entrees now. Two members of the party ordered T-bone steaks and they were charred into oblivion. All you could taste was the disgusting black crust. If you enjoy mediocre steak cooked poorly then this is the place for you. I personally had the duck that was beyond overcooked. It was the driest piece of duck I've had in a long time. It was also a thigh and a wing piece and not a breast. I assumed it would've been a duck breast since that is what is usually served in an American restaurant, but not here! I can live with that since the menu didn't specify if it wasn't cooked so poorly. Overall I don't know if this place is full of fake reviews or people that are friends of the restaurant. This place no where deserves four stars. This is a 2.5 star place at most with the food that they serve. read more

A genuine delight! The T-bone steak is mouth wateringly excellent. The home fries are crispy and perfectly seasoned, with onions and peppers. Everything about this place is top notch, from the napkins to the wait staff. It made for the perfect date night for my fiance and I. It is suitable for someone with a gluten allergy, if you notify your waiter when ordering of course. It was a bit difficult to suffer through the smell of the complementary bread... My fiance says it is the best hes had in a long time. I believe him, from how amazing it smelled. I had lots of leftovers. I'll admit that my girlfriend and I chose to eat here because of the name. Chadwick's--It's hard to say what it implies exacly. It's butler-y; sortof like "Jeeves'" or "Winston's". It's comical. We passed up on it a few times before we finally popped in for a monthiversarry dinner celebration. We treated the dining experience with a fitting sense of mock-elegance. Except for the kid with the large party over in the corner playing his game boy, the place just felt fancy and we did our best to keep up. The service was exceptional. I had the pork chops. They were heavenly. We drank water. I think the check was around $60. I guess I could not have asked for much more from Chadwick's, but something about me didn't feel right. It was just too much. Had dinner here last night for Valentine's Day dinner and from the moment we walked in, the staff was very welcoming. We sat at the bar for a quick drink before dinner, the bartender was very nice and made a great whiskey sour. The food was incredible, I mean beyond. We had pulled pork raviolis...what?? And duck that was freaking amazing! Steak with candid bacon and the lava cake was good. The wait staff was very attentive and had great suggestions on wine pairings. Amazing food and service! We order the spicy mussels and grilled octopus for appetizers. Both were great but the spicy sauce of the mussels were so good I can't stop pairing it with the bread. We had the 24oz rib eye steak and the osso bucco. The steak was mind blowing. I think Chadwick's should deserve more recognition not only because it is a local stable but the excellent food and hospitality. The steak was char grilled and tender. Entering the Chadwick's dining room is both physically and emotionally like taking a trip to a Vermont country inn. The atmosphere is quiet, sophisticated (without being stuffy) and conducive to having a great culinary experience! Because we were there on a work night, we skipped drinks and went right to the breadbasket which was served with flavored olive oil and a roasted pepper dip! We then ordered the 16 oz boneless shell steak and the roasted duck in wild blueberry sauce (and we all know how wild blueberries can get!). Our sides included whipped sweet potatoes, sauteed spinach with caramelized onions and grilled asparagus. For dessert we split an amazing chocolate lovers tort with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream that was so rich and flavorful it actually was a challenge for us to finish it! We also had some of the best decaf coffee I have had in a long time. We thought the food was a 4.5... maybe not the best in NYC, but very, very good. Still I opted for 5 stars for Chadwick's in part because our waiter, Brian, made us feel very welcome and took the time to add a birthday candle to our dessert when he found out it was my girlfriend's birthday! Chadwick's is not inexpensive but it is also not outrageously priced for the quality of their food and service. I went to Chadwick's for a business proposal dinner and I must say I was very impressed with everything I had. I didn't have a mixed cocktail, just Pinot Grigio & water so I can't comment much on beverages but what I had was satisfactory. The pasta course was probably my second favorite, it was in a simple marinara sauce but it was oh so so tasty. Rigatoni noodles, just the right amount. Salad course was basic, Pre dressed salad, creamy vinaigrette dressing on a house salad, simple, good, I only had a few bites. What I was really saving up for was the pork chop, i don't know about you, but I luvvvvz my pork :) Ok so I had the pork with a house made apple sauce and the mashed potato wasn't regular mashed potato, it was a white sweet potato mash and it wasn't anything short of heavenly. The first bite was very powerful on the chop, I felt like I was hit with tons of salt but right after was balance. It must've been because it was on the edge laying in the great jous I haven't the slightest but I savored every bite. Now dessert... There was a choice between chocolate mousse and cheese cake. The only cheese cake I'm getting down on better come from juniors so I opted for the mousse and say whaaaat!!! Man listen, that mousse was killer it was so damn good it didn't make a bit of sense, no really I could t figure out how something so light so small could taste so perfect from beginning to end and to lock eyes with my brother across the table who took a bite of his and his eyes said the sane thing lol I knew there was true success back there with that pastry chef! Can't review the food today. The one star rating is all on the matre'd, Jerry. What makes this more frustrating is that Jerry is one of the owners. Yes, one of the owners. Hard to believe when I found this out. We didn't get too far. Certainly not far enough to eat. Thanks to Jerry, who doesn't give a S--t. A week ago, I made a reservation for a group of 6. As we were entering Chadwick's one of the couples called to tell us that they were having a problem and couldn't join us. It reduced our group to 4. Whenwere greeted by the matre'd/owner, Jerry, I apologized & told him that our group of 6 was now 4 due to a last minute problem. Very coldly, Jerry told me that it's too bad because, "now you'll have to wait for your table". I pointed out to him that there are many tables for 4 that are not occupied and asked if we could be seated at one of them. He told me "they all are reserved. And I'm not seating a party of 4 at a table for 6". I questioned "how can they be reserved when you don't accept reservations for 4?" Have a seat and you'll be seated as donn as possible. We waited 15 minutes and I went to the lectern where he was standing to ask if it would be much longer, and he walked away before I could approach him. Seems Jerry wanted to punish us. Waited another 10 minutes before we left and went to Gino's. Did I mention that the tables for 4 were all unoccupied, all the while we were there. The food may be good at Chadwick's but the matre'd/owner Jerry isn't so good. I hope the other owners, Jerry's partners read this and can see the frustration we experienced. I returned to Chadwick's for their Valentine's Day prix fixe menu. My Italian Wedding Soup was thick, meaty, hearty, and got my stomach prepared for the joy that was osso bucco. The strawberries Grand Marnier dessert was insaaaanely good. A little pricy but you get what you pay for. I've tried steak houses all over NY and I must say the filet mignon at Chadwick's was by far the best piece of steak I've ever had. It was the most juiciest, most perfectly cooked steak. The steak comes topped with blue cheese and an onion ring with a side of bacon jam. I'm not even a fan of blue cheese however every bite created an explosion of fireworks. A must must get.
