Came to Chadwick's for a dinner date with a friend and was blown away. I've tried steak houses all over NY and I must say the filet mignon at Chadwick's was by far the best piece of steak I've ever had. It was the most juiciest, most perfectly cooked steak. The steak comes topped with blue cheese and an onion ring with a side of bacon jam. I'm not even a fan of blue cheese however every bite created an explosion of fireworks. A must must get. Always a great experience at Chadwick's. I was here in August and its no wonder why it is one of Bay Ridge's best restaurants. They treat you like a real guest no matter what size party you're with. Very decent. Bread is served with a roasted red pepper spread. Not bad, but I personally prefer a little seasoned EVOO or butter. Chilled Maine lobster salad with corn relish had great flavors, fresh lobster, nice presentation. Other appetizers ordered by the table were equally well received. Dry aged Porterhouse for 2 with two sides for $72 is a steal. I will say that the steak was served bone dry, no butter, not even in its own juices, and it lacked some flavor I've come to expect. Slightly overcooked too. Home fries and spinach were both very good sides, nice portion sizes too. Pork Chop and Filet Mignon were also ordered by the table, and they looked really tasty. Nice presentation as well. Warm truffle chocolate cake with ice cream was nothing out of the ordinary, but when you're warm truffle chocolate cake with ice cream, being ordinary is still pretty damn good. Creme Brulee was the size of a small village. Service was on point, bunch of classy gentlemen servers. Oh, and there's valet parking, which is so clutch in this area of BK... The serving staff was courteous and knowledgeable. Compliments to the chef: the serving temperature and presentation of our food was perfect. Portions are generous. The wild duck in blueberry sauce is a savory treat, not overshadowing the seared pork chop and steak-for-two fare. The pan-roasted roughy was surprisingly light. My sister from another mister had her bridal shower here and it was so cute. Her mother in law planned the whole thing complete with the most beautiful flowers and cute favors. I can only hope I get a mother in law like that one day. We had the whole side room and waiter open bar service was quick. The food was also pretty yummy. Family Birthday/Early New Years dinner - kik azz stuffed raviolis made daily are so good we had seconds - the Char-grilled Dry Aged Boneless Shell Steak has this crispy coating that is perfect- definitely one of the best steaks ever. The sautéed spinach and whipped potatoes filled out the dish beautifully. Other dinner favs - Roasted Duck & Herb Crusted Atlantic Salmon. Our party finished with a great slab of Tiramisu and Molten chocolate cake. I wandered in here underdressed on a Saturday night about 9 PM. That being said, I didn't feel like we got too many looks. There are two rooms and one was pretty noisy so they placed us in the more quiet (empty) room. We received really great service from a server who was attentive without being intrusive. Everything about this place was very high caliber. Nice white table napkins, bread with infused olive oil on the table. The olive oil is definitely a high-quality. I know it to be a steakhouse so most of us ordered steak and did not regret it. I had the fillet mignon which was cooked to perfection. It came with a blue cheese sauce on top, bacon jam and asparagus. While I am not a fan of blue cheese I decided I wanted to order it the way the chef intended right off of the menu. Next time I probably would not get the blue cheese because it was a bit salty. For appetizer we had the crab cakes and I was really impressed. The waiter said an order usually has 2, but he gave us a third on the house since we were 3 people. Although I could barely finish my steak we were tempted to try dessert. The option sounded amazing and we opted for the lava cake which was an amazing option. All in all I had a great time and really affordable compared to the steakhouse in Manhattan. For about $35 it was a really high-quality steak. I also like that they have wine that comes in what they call a "split" which is 375 mill, A perfect size for two people - it is about a half of a bottle. A warm and friendly neighborhood steakhouse that has been here forever. The prices are not as high as the other 'more popular' steakhouses in Manhattan or other boroughs. And for the portion sizes, the prices may even seem reasonable. Aside from the usual olive oil for bread dipping, they also have a roasted red pepper dip. We have been here in the past so we sorta know what we want but after being told the specials, a few of us were sold. For appetizers, we had the chilled lobster salad and the pan seared scallops. Lobster salad was fresh and the scallops were seasoned and seared to perfection. For the mains, we had the Porterhouse for two, Wild Boar with roasted potatoes and string beans (special), filet of sole stuffed with crabmeat (special) and the Rigatoni with carbonara sauce with peas and bacon. Everything we ordered were delicious. There were no complaints of too much salt or grease. Everything was spot on. Definitely the place for good quality steak and freindly, attentive service. I stopped by here on a Friday night on a whim and it was busy and bustling, but the wait for a table for two was only about 15 mins. Right away we felt so welcomed with the wonderful service and people greeted us as if we were regulars. I went in with no expectations and I was surprised by how amazing the food was. We had lobster bisque which was delicious and had huge chunks of lobster. I forgot what the other appetizer we got was but I recall it being great as well, although the lobster bisque did outshine it. For entrees, we got a pasta with crab sauce and the tilapia. The pasta was amazing, honestly one of the best seafood pastas I've ever had. The tilapia was wonderful too. Our waiter was great and helpful the entire time. The steaks were 95% as good as Lugers with way better sides and an ambiance and staff which were 400% better. We went here last night for my birthday because all the other places we wanted to go were closed on Monday nights! Why I can't say, May 2nd is no holiday, but was I glad the universe led me here! The Char-Grilled Dry Aged T-Bone was perfectly charred and crispy on the outside while it was medium rare and juicy on the inside. The flavor was everywhere throughout the steak and it is one of the best steaks I have eaten in years. My mom, daughter & daughter's boyfriend all thought the meal was excellent. The atmoshphere was warm and unlike Lugers they DO have tablecloths, very kind staff and soothing music. I will never forget Lugers Portehouse but I won't fantasize about it exclusively anymore. My mom had a Grilled Filet Mignon which came with Goat Cheese Risotto Cake, Grilled Asparagus, Wild Mushroom, Peppercorn Demi-Glaze. She was raving about it for an hour after we left saying how juicy it was; thats surprising because she likes her steaks double well done. My daughter had a Char Grilled Double Cut Pork Chop Bordelaise With Whipped Garlic Potatoes, and Sautéed Spinach Served with Hot Cherry Peppers (or you can substiture the peppers for Homemade Apple Sauce, if you're not into them). It was so thick that it was hard for her to cut, but she said it was very tasty. When we warmed up her leftovers today, I had a bite and all I can say is I know I've never tasted a pork chop as juicy as that. Ever! it was as tender as pernil. Her BF had the Roasted Rack of Colorado Lamb with Ratatouille and Crispy fried potato, Fresh Mint and Walnut Pesto. He said it was very good and full of flavor. I know he loves what he's eating when he closes his eyes savoring the flavors, which he did for the first several minutes.While he did say it was a little bit fatty, I think lamb is known to be a little fatty, he did feel it added to the flavor. The Cheese Cake, Creme Brûlée, Peach Melba, Cappuccino and Coffee were 4/5 stars and made a wondlerful compliment to the dinner. We'll definitely be back again and again! Went there again in October 2011, and they changed the whole menu. They took off the steak choices we loved, and the cook(s) lacked sufficient skill. This is a great restaurant! We came here on a random Friday night with a small group of 6 people. The place has a casual atmosphere, white linen table cloths, and leather bound menus. Portions are pretty big (hungry man big) so I shared all my plates! Everything was very delicious. It was all cooked to perfection, and every request was honored perfectly. The bread at the table as nice and warm and help satiate our hunger as we could smell the aromas of the delicious entrees passing us by. Amazing food and service! We order the spicy mussels and grilled octopus for appetizers. Both were great but the spicy sauce of the mussels were so good I can't stop pairing it with the bread. We had the 24oz rib eye steak and the osso bucco. The steak was mind blowing. I think Chadwick's should deserve more recognition not only because it is a local stable but the excellent food and hospitality. The steak was char grilled and tender. Monday night was such an incredible experience at Chadwick's! We went for dinner and were warmly welcomed. The dining room was not overly loud or crowded. The host alerted us that it was the last night of restaurant week. 3 courses for $28? I said why not and am so glad I did! Watermelon and feta salad with balsamic drizzle for app. Chicken Paillard for entree and white chocolate mouse w berries for dessert. The meal was fantastic. The chefs knocked my taste buds out of the park! Presentation was beautiful. Taste was perfect, satisfying and delightful with every bite. Cocktails were spot on. Can't review the food today. The one star rating is all on the matre'd, Jerry. What makes this more frustrating is that Jerry is one of the owners. Yes, one of the owners. Hard to believe when I found this out. We didn't get too far. Certainly not far enough to eat. Thanks to Jerry, who doesn't give a S--t. A week ago, I made a reservation for a group of 6. As we were entering Chadwick's one of the couples called to tell us that they were having a problem and couldn't join us. It reduced our group to 4. Whenwere greeted by the matre'd/owner, Jerry, I apologized & told him that our group of 6 was now 4 due to a last minute problem. Very coldly, Jerry told me that it's too bad because, "now you'll have to wait for your table". I pointed out to him that there are many tables for 4 that are not occupied and asked if we could be seated at one of them. He told me "they all are reserved. And I'm not seating a party of 4 at a table for 6". I questioned "how can they be reserved when you don't accept reservations for 4?" Have a seat and you'll be seated as donn as possible. We waited 15 minutes and I went to the lectern where he was standing to ask if it would be much longer, and he walked away before I could approach him. Seems Jerry wanted to punish us. Waited another 10 minutes before we left and went to Gino's. Did I mention that the tables for 4 were all unoccupied, all the while we were there. The food may be good at Chadwick's but the matre'd/owner Jerry isn't so good. I hope the other owners, Jerry's partners read this and can see the frustration we experienced. I'm with my wife gone to Chadwicks last night for dinner. We had special occasion and try to choose some quiet and cozy restaurant and I'm happy that don't miss. My wife in love with seafood and I'm crazy about steaks this place was really good for both of us. Servers are very polite and almost immediately after ordering we got our wine. Caesar and Lobster Salads came shortly. Steak was nicely grilled and juicy, portion was big; I was totally satisfied with it. As well as my wife was pleased with scallops. The ambience is refined casual, and the restaurant itself gives off a warm ambience. Service is amazing you get greeted at the door and as you are walking your way past the bar into the dinner table section there are waiters greeting you left and right and making sure to let you know to watch your step. You are served ice cold water as soon as you sit and there is bread with olive oil and a spicy(not quite sure what it was.. it looked like vodka sauce) i didnt particularly like the bread because it was too hard. We started off with appetizers, i HIGHLY recommend the Seafood sampler tower.. that was the HIGHLIGHT of our meal. it comes with raw oysters and clam, a whole lobster, GIANT (note i said GIANT instead of jumbo cause its BIGGER than jumbo) shrimp cocktail that was SO SWEET JUICY and GOOD! and Lobster claws all cut and ready for you to just take a bite out of... and it comes with all the sauces you can ever imagine using with it. It is an A/P item so the price is not listed and i believes it varies. AP stands for (as priced) incase you were wondering like i was. the calimari was okay.. grilled asparagus i would pass on (lacked flavor) the scallop risoto was okay.. (i would probably pass on this next time) - a little bland for me.. as you can tell i love flavors. Oh we also got the duck.. but it was too gamey.. i believe that is the correct term for it.. and when the waiter asked we told them truthfully since im not sure if it is just our taste bud or just for their future reference and i guess he let the owner know and the owner was so nice he came over and said sorry it wasnt to our liking and waived it for us... our table told him no its okay since we were going to pay for it anyways he still offered to waive it for us. I find this amazing because this is the above and beyond type of service you dont always see at restaurants in brooklyn that just makes your dinner THAT much better. For my entree i had the baramundi as recommended by my server.. i had wanted the Atlantic salmon to begin with but since my friend was getting it i was just going to steal some from her and try something different... and i am glad i did because i enjoyed my baramundi a lot more than her salmon (which was a little dry and over cooked if you asked me) she agreed and liked my baramundi more too. i didn't particularly like the orange/reddish paste like thing under my baramundi (couldnt figure out what it was) and the greens were a little salty but we were too full from the appetizers to really care at that point and we didnt want to say anything to the waiter cause we felt bad that they had waived the duck for us already. Overall We had a great time, our service was amazing, water was constantly refilled, table was cleared as needed, we were never rushed. I would definitely be back for the Seafood Tower alone. We had Brushetta for the appetizer which was tasty. I really liked the pasta which was a Ziti in sweet tomato sauce with pieces of onion. The Ziti was cooked well, I don't like al dente. No problem, said the gentleman making the reservation by telephone; either could be accommodated. I've only been here twice but I am a BIG fan. Everything I've tried here was absolutely delicious! Baked clams are out of this world! (not on menu but they sell them by the 1/2 dozen.) Steak was delicious, my friend LOVED his duck. Service was great. Side note, we had to wait a little bit longer than I think anyone anticipated. Fresh ripe tomato and red onion salad was great with the unique garlic cream dressing instead of the heavier traditional blu cheese. Nice twist on peach cobbler for dessert was delicious. All in all good service, well mixed drinks, ample but reasonable portions and great traditional food with a little unique twist made for a very enjoyable dinner. Excellent food, excellent service, but wow the noise.... I don't quite get it either. This place is elegant and has a romantic atmosphere. At first glance it seems perfect for a quiet date night. But everyone is so loud! Painfully loud. Can't hear the person next to you loud. Despite the fact nothing about the place invites you to be loud. I learned the table of dudes behind me were boob guys, and that the table across were school teachers, and the other table across the way was someones 33rd birthday. Go be loud at Cebu! I don't understand. That said the food was marvelous. I had a groupon, and they were happy to take it. The best part about these sort of restaurants is how they manage to make the vegetable side dishes so delicious. Mahi Mahi special was spot on. Wine was good. I got the creme brule for dessert and it was the size of my head. The owner walks around and makes sure everything is going smoothly. I always like to see someone taking active interest in their business. Good sign. I will definitely be going back here, but the ambiance was so out control if I go again, will not go with expectation of quiet romantic evening. I would give them 5 stars if not for that. Very old school feeling when you are here but I didn't mind since you come here for the food and the service. I ordered the filet mignon and my wife had t bine steak. Both were excellent and cooked exactly the way we asked and wanted. We went on a Saturday night close to 6:30 pm and waiting 30 minutes which I think is fair enough.
