Chada thai has the best thai food in whatcom county! Their prices are fair and affordable, and the service is always fast and friendly. My husband and I recently visited Thailand, and even there, few restaurants compared to Chada Thai. read more

Super solid Thai food, great prompt service, very impressed for such a small town. They're a staple that's been here for a long time for a reason. You won't be disappointed! read more

We were so disappointed. The food was super bland and greasy. We're new to the area and this restaurant has a relatively high rating. We ordered fried rice, pad Thai, and the appetizer combo. The appetizer combo was a good start. We enjoyed the spring rolls and Rangoon. The satay was underwhelming. The peanut sauce that accompanied is thick and less than appealing. The fried rice was barely fried and the beef was really unappetizing. We didn't even end up eating it. The pad Thai was so greasy and flavorless - edible but not enjoyable. We ordered tofu in the pad Thai and the flavor was off - I'd never tasted tofu like that. Needless to say, we will not be returning. It's disappointing as there are so few quality food options this far north. read more

We decided to eat here yesterday. This our first time here. We were not disappointed although I found it somewhat pricy for the amount of food served. The service was rather slow for the number of folks in the restaurant. There were two other couples, but while waiting for our order, we were able to watch the boat launching antics in the nearby marina. The meal was excellent, I cleaned my plate. My lovely companion ate only half of what she ordered and took it home to heat up and make a second meal out of it later. Next time, yes, there will be a next time I going to get more adventuress and order a different item. Looking forward to it. read more

Unfortunately, there's not much to choose from. Our first time here, as we walked in there was an unpleasant odor, just old wet carpet maybe. I ordered the Tom Ka soup, it was ok. I wish they would use the small shoot mushrooms instead of the fresh whole ones. My veggie pad Thai was also just ok. It was cooked to my specifications which was good. The server/owner walks away in the middle of our order to grab my husband's beer. The other couple we were with tried to order a second dish and he's almost arguing with them about what they had already ordered. Awkward! We still haven't decided if we'll be returning. It was just an odd experience. read more

We've had the yellow curry several times, it's always delicious with great portions. Service is great!

Loved food especially Tom Ka soup! Food was ready when I arrived and hot enough for return drive to Birch Bay to enjoy without heating again. Yummy good! read more

A GREAT Thai place in Blaine. My fiancé and I came to eat here and will definitely be frequenting on our stay here. The service is prompt, the food is so good, and I've never had to wait. The view of the bay is amazing as well! Keep up the great work Chada Thai. Pictured is the halfway eaten mussaman curry with pork and beef mixed with the side of rice provided. The price is also very affordable! read more

Finally a place with some Pad Thai in the area that is the right flavor! The consistency is still a bit slimy versus sticky like it should be, but it's good! Pros? Lovely view Fast service Simple atmosphere Large menu Typical entrees (not trying to do any fusion) Cons? It's so hard to find good Thai in the area Spice level (highest spice is still low) read more

terrible service, waiter was rude and told me that if i didnt like it so much why dont i go eat other food, management doesnt care

Three stars because my husband loved his soup, but my food was barely edible. His only "qualm" was that he ordered 4 stars heat and it was barely spicy. He did enjoy his noodles, however, and thought his Tom Kah soup was delicious. The "crispy" coating on my orange sauce chicken was soggy and falling off, the house made sauce was flavorless - I had to add ground chilies and soy sauce to make it edible, even still I stopped after a few bites. My fried rice with pork was edible but boring. I should have ordered basil for some flavor, I suppose. The pork in the fried rice was rather tough, but I worked around it. Overall it was simply underwhelming and although it's close, we probably wont order food here again. read more

Another new food spot in the new 'hood. We headed up the road a bit, about 15 minutes, to Blaine and found this little jewel with a great view of the harbor. We ordered the Combo and Sapporos to start. I got the Bangkok Boat with 4 heat stars and Hubs got the Yellow Curry with chicken at 5 star heat. It was a respectable wait time for the starter and it was good except for the chicken satay which was a bit on the bland side. It came with two dipping sauces, a peanut one and a sweet duck style to go with the spring rolls, crab rangoon, chicken satay and fried pork dumplings. I was hoping that it was not a bad omen for the entrees. We didn't have to wait long to find out. Large portions of the entrees with a small bowl of steamed rice hit the table steaming hot and smelling good. The dishes were so tasty. The service is OK but friendly. We will definitely be back for some great Thai food. read more

I love this place. I tend to judge thai restaurants by their red curry because it's my favorite thai dish, and theirs is amaze-balls. My favorite dish here is the yakisoba noodles, though. I like to order extra to eat as cold leftovers! Also noteably delicious is their lemongrass chicken. The staff is friendly and fast and they have a wonderful view of the marina and Semiahmoo. read more

Updating my review because my coworkers and I get take out from here frequently. The food is consistent, delicious and comes in large portions. I've tried numerous menu items and have never been disappointed! read more

Went for dinner a couple weeks ago, and I was very impressed. We ordered a small Tom Kha soup, one plate of Thai green curry with chicken and one plate of Pad Ginger with pork, to be shared among 2 people, but it turns out we ordered enough for 3! The food was intensely flavorful, ranging from salty and gingery (Pad Ginger) to slightly sweet and creamy with coconut milk (Tom Kha). My favorites were the soup and the green curry, only because the pad Ginger was a touch too salty for my taste. The green curry had generous portions of bamboo shoots and had a lovely lemongrass flavor. Both mains came with a side of rice, but it was too little compared to the enormous amounts of everything else. Ideally, 2-3 people can share one dish if you just order more rice on the side. If the food was fabulous, the view was even better: at 8 PM, we had a view of the gorgeous sunset over the marina from our booth. It was simply amazing and made for a perfect end to the day. The cherry on top is the friendly and fairly quick service. read more

I ordered take out from Chada Thai, I got the yellow curry minus the potatoes and I thought it was mediocre compared to other Thai restaurants that I have eaten at. The curry lacked flavour. I cannot quite figure out what was missing, but something definitely was. The curry was quite runny too, I usually find that it is thicker at other restaurants. The food was piping hot when I received it, which was appreciated. The portion size was fairly large, the amount of food I received could've definitely fed two people (They did not cheap out on the vegetables for sure). I would give this restaurant another shot, but next time I would try the Pad Thai instead. It's not a bad restaurant, it just could use a little improvement, that's all. read more

While traveling from Vancouver to Seattle we stopped here at this Thai restaurant in the oddest of places. Thank goodness. The food was really good quite unexpectedly the Tom Kha was on point not to watery and the lemongrass wasn't overwhelming, plenty of straw mushrooms and very filling. The entree portions were generous sizes and equally tasty. We had the vegetarian Jungle Noodles, red curry base, and can't complain. The service was quick and attentive. Food came out in expected timeframes. The establishment itself is a bit wonky, it looks like it used to be an old fish and chips building, so don't let that throw you off. Ir could stand a remodel, but I'll take clean setting s and good food over a new brick and mortar building. That aside it is set on a gorgeous view of the bay and was a joy to sit and eat and enjoy the waterfront view. Solid Thai food in an unexpected place. If you are in the mood I've it a try. read more

Very friendly staff and amazing food!! I'm no food expert by any means but for sure the best Thai food I've had! Has a beautiful view outside where you can eat. We got the shrimp fried rice, tum yum soup, and beef yum salad. All of it was really good, but the salad was especially delicious! read more

So good! I've eaten in this restaurant (pre-COVID) and I've had their take out a few times. Each meal (Swimming Rama, Tom Kha, Pad Basil, and Pad Cashew Nut) has been delicious! Service is solid. Restaurant is clean. View is amazing and I'm looking forward to being able to enjoy it all again one day, until then, I'm supporting Chada Thai staying open in my community by ordering their delicious take out! read more

I know good Thai food traveling to Asia many times. This restaurant had decent food, but certainly nothing outside the ordinary. My Tum Yum soup with shrimp had a good flavor broth but that was about it. No green spices, cilantro or anything that made it special. I ordered a Laab salad (Chicken). The chicken was good but the overall dish lacked most of the spices that you would expect (Mint, and other spices that make these dishes special). Very average would be rating, (Not bad, but not great). Service was fair at the take out window (No seated dining yet). read more

Delicious food! Never fails. & The staff is super friendly. Definitely a repeating customer.

We come here often when we are in Birch bay. Fair prices. Everything we have had has been good. Service is fine. It seems to be a small family run place. We've never had service issue. But it hasn't been real busy. Great view! Very dated decor but we don't care. Very much a blaine/Birch bay place. We love it. read more

I will say that this was a nice clean establishment to eat in. We came right before closing, so we couldn't enjoy the harbor view out of the windows. Friendly service, food arrived all at once, hot and cooked to order. The food was very good, they were very accommodating as to what items were not cooked with Oyster or Lobster sauce. The last place our friend saw her purse was in this establishment. We were the last to leave... they said they never found a purse there... I'll leave it at that... read more

Every year on December 26th I pick a different restaurant for dinner. This year I picked Chada Thai, mostly because of the view and because I love Thai food. This place is located in downtown Blaine and it overlooks the marina. It looks rundown from the outside and just as bad on the inside. Tonight the furnace wasn't working and there were guys working on the ducts in the dining room during service, (I sure hope that they resolved the issue because it was freezing in there) So much for the ambience... The service was prompt and excellent. We ordered beverages and appetizers which were delivered quickly. The combo appetizer plate had a nice assortment of fried goodies and a couple chicken satay skewers with peanut sauce. Everything was fairly much like what you get elsewhere. Nothing special. Next time I'll try the fresh shrimp spring rolls. For mains I picked the most interesting dish on the menu- Evil Jungle Noodles. What a name! It was surprisingly good though, noodles with your choice of protein and sprouts, basil, green onion in a red curry sauce. Delicious! Their red curry had lemongrass undertones and even though I stayed at a relatively low level of heat, 2 was plenty hot. My husband had sweet and sour pork, unbreaded pork in a slightly sweet and spicy sauce. It wasn't bad. I'll be back in the summer to try out more but until they fix the heater I'm eating elsewhere. read more

We've been coming here since they opened. Amazing customer service, wonderful food, fantastic people! Even after moving 45 minutes away we still make the drive to enjoy their cooking! I'd suggest trying their Pad See Ew, Pad Kee Mao, and Crab Rangoon. read more

This place deserves 5 stars. I was worried based on reviews but kiddo was hungry. We had a great meal- spring rolls( not oily at all), Tom yum soup ( lots of flavor), yakisoba noodles ( decent),salmon with green curry ( loaded with veggies). Lot of vegetarian options, great view and good service. read more

95% of the time the food here is fabulous. And it's quite acceptable the other 5%. There seems to be some variability in how the cook interprets the spice star system. I've only ever been there for lunch, and service is fine when the restaurant isn't crowded. The decor is basic, but the view is good. The washroom needs a face lift. read more

A decent authentic Thai restaurant just south of the border. The combo appetizer is always a good start. First time visitors wife & daughter enjoyed their eggplant dish & chicken teriyaki, respectively. And mom with her usual pad sweet&sour. Thai BBQ chicken is awesome with the skin done well perfectly but not burnt. Good for 2-3 ppl. read more

I ordered the massaman and panang curries and the fried rice at four stars, and they weren't spicy at all. I liked the carrots in the massaman. The spring rolls were crispy, even after taking them home. The Thai salad was surprisingly good. After the horrible service elsewhere, decided to give Chada Thai a chance. The location has a great panoramic view of the ocean. The decor inside is slightly tacky, i.e. plastic flowers and dirty fast food style furniture. Although we were seated quickly, the staff appeared apathetic and careless about our patronizing their establishment. Looking at the old menus, I felt the food was a little overpriced for Thai cuisine; but figured I'd be in for a diamond in the rough. Not... The satay and spring rolls tasted frozen, and sauce tasted pre-packaged and frozen as well. I had the Tom-Yum soup which tasted pretty good, and the pork fried rice which was fair and plentiful. Recommend skipping the meat because it just tasted frozen and rubbery. It's not horrible, but far from some of the chain Asian cuisine places. read more

We were looking for something different to eat and discovered this place. The serving size were nice, pics included, a nice view of the harbor and our server was friendly and helpful with the menu. After a recommendation from a local, we were delighted to find fresh, delicious entrees! My daughter enjoyed the pad thai while we loved the Salmon Green Curry! Fresh rolls were also fresh and plump. Presentation also was at a high level. Service was prompt and not pushy. Highly recommend if in the area and taking a break from area seafood! read more

Although the food was delicious the service was horrendous. As I was ordering the server just walked away from the table. When I asked for chopsticks he whispered something in a different language and walked away! I'm a very generous tipper but in this case it was hard for me to even leave 10% . The sad thing is I think he was the owner. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find a Thai place in Blaine. The staff was very very nice and although they were busy, we never felt we were forgotten. The view of the Blaine harbor was nice at sunset and the booth was comfortable. The food was good, not out of this world but very good. A million times better than what I would think to find in a small town like Blaine. I've seen some construction going on there and it looks like they are expanding their building. I will go here again. It seems they grade their spice chart on a lower level, so if you usually like 3 stars, maybe get 4 or 5 instead. read more

The food her is amazing. I love the red curry. The service however can be a crap shoot. It's almost a game getting menus, finding a server and ordering drinks.
