I was not impressed this time around, they didn't have the fried fish cakes, so we ordered garlic delight w/pork and pad Thai w/chicken along with one bow of white rice. White rice was only lukewarm. the lean pork in the garlic delight was dry. The chicken in the Pad. Thai was also dry. Not sure if I will return, but if I do return, those are two items I would not order again. read more

This restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Ferndale. They do not have a parking lot, so the only option is street parking. The inside is really dated, with cheap tables and chairs that make the place seem like a fast food establishment but with sit-down prices. I tried their lunch special red curry combo and was really disappointed. The curry portion was tiny and the taste was extremely bland. There was absolutely no flavor to the entrees. This is why Yelp needs half stars...or category stars. Service is very good - it was the owner, who is a little old lady, and she was happy to see three ladies out for lunch, bonding and having a great time. The food is just fair. It's your normal Americanized Thai food, but one thing I have noticed about many of the Thai places around here is that they're not well seasoned and there's not a ton of depth to the dishes. It's not inedible, but could have benefitted from more spices and spicy. I'm glad it exists in Ferndale - I can't wait to see how Main Street changes over the years, and this is going to be the OG place. A few months ago I would have given Luxe Thai 5 stars. We order take-out regularly and our entire family has their favorite dishes. My favorite WAS the Teriyaki Chicken, but something changed...recipe? chef? variation? It was not an improvement. I don't know what changed exactly, but the sauce is watery and tasteless and the chicken is sloppy, not sliced properly and bitter (over charred). It is packaged separately from the rice now, which is fine, but makes it harder to eat as take-out. It is always so disappointing when a dish that you absolutely love is changed into a dish that you won't eat. This isn't based on one experience, but two, because I do like to give a restaurant a second chance. We still like the noodle dishes, and the staff is great. read more

We frequently enjoy quality takeout food from Luxe Thai, so last night's meal was a huge disappointment. Ordered Raad Nah looking forward to the yummy wide noodles. They were in a separate container from the meat and vegetables, but were a gelatinous, mushy mass. No individual noodles and very doughy. The rest of the meal also lacked the usual flavor. Hopefully, this was just a bad day for them, but I'm not sure we'll go back. (PS: Staff has always been great and the spring rolls were excellent!) read more

I did not know this Thai restaurant existed in Ferndale. I like to stick to a gluten free diet and was overjoyed this restaurant served true rice noodles in their Pad Thai. I ordered my chicken Pad Thai for pick'up. There is NO street parking what-so-ever! And no lot to park either The! The hostess was extremely delightful and friendly. The food was excellent and ALOT of it! I was only disappointed that my Pad Thai was not garnished with green onion as stated on the menu. I asked for the level five spicy and they did not deliver on heat... So the spice level is definitely not there. but overall, a decent option for lunch. Fresh, basic, healthy and tasty food that is prepared lightning fast. It's pretty hard to find good healthy food anywhere when eating out or taking out, and here it is, right in Ferndale. What more do you want? I've had their green curry with tofu several times and I think I will have it many times more. The vegetables are always fresh, the rice is tasty and the curry is wonderful. Solid three star Thai food. The only choice if you are too lazy to drive 5 or so miles to a good restaurant. They seem to be open when they feel like it, which is a bit irritating to say the least. They are nice, though, which keeps me open to eating there every so often. read more

Masked employees BUT not all were gloved which was noticeable & commented on by another person waiting for their order. The Larb is & always has been outstanding, a Thai fav of mine for the fullness/depth of flavor. I order takeout from here at least once a month, and I always order the same item, since they do a great job with the dish's flavor. I can also feel reassured that my order will be correct and will taste great! The only issues that I have ever had with their food was inconsistencies with the level of spiciness pertaining to stars, which is why I now just stick to one star only. I always order the Garlic Fried Rice with Chicken and I add extra cilantro (my fav herb). I order it one star due to explanation above! The portion is generous for the price...in my opinion, and since I can never finish it all in one sitting, I always have leftovers for lunch the next day. So win/win!! read more

We have many Thai restaurants in Seattle and were pleasantly surprised at the taste, quality, and overall dining experience. The food was fantastic...this is a gem and the people here in Ferndale are very lucky. The food was so good that we will make a point of stopping here for a meal anytime we are in the area. We ordered three entrees (one to share) as we are not big on ordering appetizers and both my wife and I finished them all off....not used to having no left overs. Granted, I hadn't been to Lux Thai in a few years. So when I looked at the menu I noticed the prices, like everything, had skyrocketed. Knowing how outstanding the food was during all of my prior visits, over the years, I was willing to pay the price. I was so disappointed. The friends who joined me told me their meals were hardly what I had raved about. Pushing aside my embarrassment, since going there was my idea, I admitted to them that I too was disappointed. The calamari which came with other fish could have bounced against the wall. There were plenty of shrimp but my order was 'seafood'. Besides the rubber calamari I saw two scallops. The best pad thai in Whatcom County. If you're eating pad thai covered in peanut sauce, then your pad thai is not authentic/tasty. I'm so glad I found pad thai in Whatcom County that doesn't warrant a trip to the garbage can. It is flavorful, juicy, and very well seasoned. I got the lunch combo of red chicken curry that comes with pad thai and steamed rice. The curry is delicious with the perfect amount of richness and chicken that's pretty tender. Steamed rice was a little watery but that's fine. I recommend to get this with 2/5 stars in spicyness. I can't eat spicy food but this amount is very tolerable and enhances the flavors. The local Chamber of Commerce has voted this the "Best Thai" food restaurant for at least the past 6 years. While the food was indeed tasty, I couldn't help wondering if it was voted the best in this category because it's probably the only Thai restaurant in this quaint, podunk town. There is a lunch and dinner menu. Since my go-to favorites, the red and green curries, only appeared on the dinner menu, I decided to try the Sweet and Sour dish off the lunch menu. This dish really reminded me of Cantonese cooking. The dish came with steamed white rice, so no need to order a side bowl. You have an option of beef, pork, chicken, shrimp and tofu. I threw them a wild card and asked for vegetarian, and they pleasently surprised me with a piping hot dish of mixed vegetables in a succulent sweet and sour sauce that was neutral in color instead of nuclear, bright red that you often find at other places. Bring cash, a Mastercard or Visa to pay. This place doesn't accept AMEX or personal checks. Service staff are polite, quick and efficient. Street parking is free and easy to find night and day.
