After looking for suggestions on a good thai place in town, I stumbled upon Thai Mason. I ended up ordering a choo chee curry with beef. The quantity of food for the price was great. I was most pleased with the quantity of meat in the dish. They did not skimp on it at all! The flavor was mostly good, very similar yet different from a Panang Curry. However, the entire time I was eating, it felt like it was missing something, like it just needed one or two more spices. Overall, it wasn't bad, it was good, just not great. Though this was a to go order, I still had a great interaction with the staff. They were all smiles and very friendly. The overall ambiance of the restaurant was clean and neat. Plenty of seating and plenty of table were filled! This is a restaurant that I will give another chance and try something else next time as their menu was very unique and different from a normal Thai restaurant. read more

1st time here and already love it. The restaurant is so cute and clean with adorable decor and comfortable seating. The wait staff were very nice and attentive. We tried soft shell crab for appetizer and it was fresh and well battered. The sriracha sauce served with it was perfect compliment. We had the Tom Kha soup with a delicious broth. It had many varieties of mushrooms in it and they were generous with the chicken. We tried the lamb curry, wow! I would say this is a must do at least once since its somewhat unique dish. It had a nicely developed curry with onions, potato's and lamb and served with roti bread (very croissant like) and homemade quick asian pickles. Very delightful! read more

We just went here for the first time and we did take out so I can't comment a lot on ambience or in-restaurant dining experience BUT what I can tell you is that our take-out order was ready when they said it would be and they were very kind when I went to pick it up. The crab-fried rice was awesome. We also got a couple of curries and be careful with the stars of heat! I thought I was tougher than I really am. Definitely a solid take-out option. read more

Food and service was amazing! The flowers and chandeliers were gorgeous so ambiance was also amazing!! Server was helpful and told me about different spots I could visit while in town. The mango sorbet was top tier! And I had level 2 spice which wasn't overly spicy but would have appreciated a bit of a stronger soy flavor on my phad see lew but otherwise it was perfect and adding there sweet and sour sauce made up for that lack of soy quite easily!! Come here at the wrong day/time, and you'll spend a lot of time trying to find a parking space, due to Trader Joe's. Parking was next to impossible on a Sunday evening. The person who took our takeout order was very nice, and gave a time estimate of 15-20 minutes. Our food was ready in about that time, so not bad for a Sunday dinner. We shared a Tea Leaf salad, and a Mango salad. I couldn't mix the tea leaf salad (not enough room in the takeout container), so I feel like I didn't get the "full" experience, but it was pretty good. There was a lot of lettuce, though, and we weren't thrilled with the fried peanuts; wished they were fresh. The Mango salad was both our favorites. The salad was sweet, but also spicy. We ordered spice level of 1. Their online ordering system is very well designed. Tried it for lunch the next day. I had another salad (Papaya salad this time), with my husband opting for Pad Prik Khing (with mixed veggie as the "meat" choice), plus brown rice. Their brown rice was a very good blend of brown, and others (wild and sticky?). Pad Prik Khing seemed to be a garlic sauce. The extra veggies were decent; it was a filling meal. I had a final meal here later in the week. I had a Papaya salad again because it was so good the first time. My husband had a Tofu Larb salad (but requested soft instead of fried tofu). This time, my husband felt the 1* spice level was nearly non-existent, so a bit of a discrepancy. Also, soft tofu doesn't absorb any of the sauce/dressing (it's not cooked with it, of course, just added later), so he felt it wasn't a smart pairing with Tofu Larb. His fault! read more

Really enjoyed, it might be my favorite Thai so far In The bham area! The red Curry which I got with chicken was thick and delicious and the crispy rolls and sauce were the best rolls iv had in a long time not over filled and fried to perfection. the sweat snd sour sauce was thick and almost honey like. Hubs really enjoyed his spice lvl 2 beef pad Thai no peanuts and can't wait for the left overs for lunch tomorrow! Our little had almost 2 full spring rolls loved the red curry chicken and brown rice! We got as a side one fried chicken thigh and we will be absolutely ording that as a side every time it was that good! Staff was great, and loved the tables and chairs reminded me of my nanas breakfast table and Thai was her favorite she would have loved this place! read more

The food wasn't bad. I had the crispy pork belly with Chinese broccoli. It was not bad. They didn't give much crispy pork belly for a $20 dish. My teammate that ordered the pad kee mao wanted it with pork but got it with chicken instead. I asked him to let the waiter know but he didn't want to wait for another dish to be ready as we've got so much time alotted fit dinner. If the price is like in Seattle, I do have a level of expectation that should be met. I did love the indoor decorations of the restaurant and its ambience. I've been here weekly since we first tried it a month ago and everything has been amazing so far!!! Tom yum soup seafood is our favorite! Beware their spices are spicy for level 3. Holy buckets! This was one of the best meals we've had in a long time; I'd give it 6 out of 5 stars if I could. My wife had the house ginger beer, which was very fresh and ginger-y, and reminded her more of a ginger-lemonade than ginger beer. I had the Thai Iced Tea (and later Thai coffee) and both were fantastic. For appetizers we tried the fried brussels sprouts and the pork belly. The fried brussel sprouts also came with some bonus broccoli and garlic, and were deliciously crunchy and fragrant; fresh lemon wedges and a curry aioli were perfect sides. The caramelized pork belly was not crispy (which is the presentation I've normally seen), but was instead beautifully and flavorfully braised with bok choy, green onions, and a delicious sauce. Both apps were 10/10. For the mains, my wife got the Massaman Lamb Curry, and I got the Pad Kra Prao with crispy pork belly, an egg, and rice. Both were revelatory, in different ways. The curry was like a fusion of Thai and Indian flavors, with a generous amount of potatoes and lamb; she said it was one of the best curries she's ever had. Mine leaned much more into traditional Thai flavors, and was also one of the best meals I've ordered in years. Service was prompt and attentive, and the ambiance was bright, welcoming, and nontraditional for a Thai place (made me think of a French-style cafe or something). The prices are a bit higher than some Thai restaurants, but we felt that was more than reflected in the quality of the food. My wife and I were looking for Thai for lunch, and just stumbled across this gem, and boy am I glad we did! It tasted like food prepared by people who love food. I so rarely leave negative reviews but this was really disappointing! Ordered takeout, most dishes were borderline inedible. Pad Thai was a congealed blob with poor flavor and many burnt noodles. Additionally the sauce leaked out of the containers as they were folded cardboard, not locking plastic. Tom Yum soup with beef was so greasy with fat from the meat it was unenjoyable. Had the pork belly and Chinese broccoli which was delicious but a bit salty. Not sure it was exactly Chinese broccoli but it was something similar and so much better than when restaurants use regular broccoli. It was very good. Only complaint is it was so salty that I ran out of the scoop of rice they served. But very tasty and I would eat here again. The purple rice coconut milk dessert was also very good and service was friendly. This was my first time here. I chose it because of the great reviews. I order the Larb Isan with ground chicken. The first few bites tasted very good until I hit pieces of undercooked chicken. I called the waitress and explained and showed why I could not eat anymore of what they had served me. The waitress spoke to the manager then returned and told me the manager said the meal was "comped" and gave me my appetizer in a to-go bag, which came after the meal. I told her I can't eat anything from this restaurant anymore and left. We trust these restaurants to serve us properly cooked food. Undercooked chicken, to me, is an unforgivable sin. Well we went in to get a bite to eat because we were ravenous and didn't want to shop at TJs on an empty stomach. Pad Krow with chicken was delicious, chock full of chicken and crispy basil. Nice selection of crisp veggies. Because I can't give it 10 stars, five will have to do. Is it the cheapest in the area? No. Is it the most expeditious service? Definitely not. But is it hands down the best? Yes, to infinity. While my favorite dishes are the Khao soi and the pad eggplant with pork belly, the massamun and braised beef cheek green curries are definitely worth trying. The massamun is different than any other curry of the same title I've ever had, and this handily blows them all out of the water. Even if you're a spice lover, I would suggest getting it at 2 stars so you can taste the complex layered flavors. Most dishes come with your choice of meat, tofu, or jackfruit. While they only technically go to three stars for spice, you can ask for it extra, or Thai spicy, and they'll bring you more if you want it. Rice doesn't come with most dishes, and I will say that's one of the drawbacks - it's probably the cheapest thing to make and charging several dollars for a cup of it seems a little extortionary. That being said, it is miles above any other Thai place in the area. Like others have said, the service isn't quick, but it's very friendly. The place is always packed with to-go, so I think that's what makes the dine in experience slower than it should be. I've had the food mostly dine in, but have done takeout and it's consistently the same high quality no matter how it's served, which is a huge accomplishment. It's my favorite Thai place in north-of-Seattle, and a frequent stop for dinner. Go and enjoy it! read more

I've eaten many places in Thailand, and it doesn't get better than this. I heard great things about Thai Mason and was eager to try it. Right on! Because I wanted to try a variety of dishes, I ordered enough food to last me and my partner a week. It was wonderful! The Larb Isan was delicious. I like a little more lime, and slices were delivered to me before I could set my fork down. I am not partial to eggplant, but my love adores it--so I ordered the Pad Eggplant mainly for him. I have to say it was a lovely dish replete with lots of lovely silky vegetables and sauce, and he was ecstatic over it. The side of fried chicken thigh was perfect--crispy and moist. The brown rice, nutty and chewy as it should be. I've never had jackfruit meat before, so I chose that for the amazing Tom Yum Soup--ha! I loved it! The caramelized pork belly on the menu was unexpected to me and an irresistible thing to order. As it turns out, it is irresistible to eat too--lovely by its sweet self or atop the rice. Food came almost instantly! Jen was our wonderful, cheerful and amazing server. Luckily, they were able to seat us. Seeing as they have plenty of vegan options, we had plenty to choose from. We got: -Pad Kee Mao with fried tofu ($17.50 plus tax). We ordered this 2/3 spicy, and it was quite spicy indeed. Very rich flavours, with lots of dark soy, light-to-moderate sweetness, and quite a lot of richness. It came with plenty of flat rice noodles, lots of veggies, and a few large pieces of fried tofu. Real nice. 4.5/5 -Pad Prik-Khing with fried tofu ($17.50 plus tax). We also ordered this 2/3 spicy, and it was also quite spicy indeed. Very rich red curry flavours, with plenty of veggies and some fried tofu. Maybe a bit over the top and lacking nuance, but very tasty overall. 4/5 -Choo-chee (yellow) curry with soft tofu ($19). We ordered this 3/3 spicy, and I'd say it was moderately spicy. This was perhaps the least invigorating dish just because it was simple. The curry was nicely spiced and balanced, but only came with 9 pieces of soft tofu, plus some bell peppers. Good, but a bit underwhelming, especially considering the steep price. 3.5/5 Service was extremely kind and reasonably fast. Very solid spot for vegan-friendly Thai in central Bellingham.
