When I was a student at WWU, I frequented this place once or twice a month for take out of their Phad Thai Thai style because it was so flavorful and one of the best phad Thai's I have ever had. Recently while going up to Canada, we made a pit stop at Supon and dined in. The restaurant was relatively quiet as usual with only two other tables and one waiter that's hustling with all of the orders in the restaurant, the take out orders, and checking on the kitchen (oh and bussing the tables). The service was still relatively slow from what I remembered as a student and the cooks did not have a sense of hustling with all of the orders. It took about 30 minutes to get our three dishes. We ordered the Phad Thai, the Penang Curry, and the House Fried Rice. The Phad Thai Thai Style was still tasty and reminded me of my take out days as a student; however it tasted more salty than what I remembered. The Penang curry was just okay, nothing to write home about. The house fried rice was not good. The curry flavor was overpowering, the beef was very chewy and the pineapple was not even edible (we all avoided it) due to it being so chewy and worse than what you would get from a can. Also hours later after eating dinner, our burps still had the taste of the curry flavor from the fried rice Despite the negative things about our dishes, I still enjoyed my phad thai and would still return but I would only get this and do a take out (by calling well ahead). The waiter(s) are always friendly and great at multitasking so be patient when you're dining in waiting for your food! We wanted to try a new restaurant for Pad Thai, and Supon's Thai Kitchen is in our neighborhood, so we went to check it out. The parking lot was packed, but Supon's only had one table, so the Japanese Steakhouse next door must have been busy. We were greeted by a very friendly server, who took our order, which we wanted to take home. She had us sit down, and still offered us water while we were waiting for our dinner. The dining area is really nice, we will go back next time and stay for dinner. Our Pad Thai was outstanding! The tofu was cooked to perfection, and so were the very fresh veggies, which are often overcooked at Thai restaurants. Our spice level was a two, and it had a little kick, and in a good way. The flavor was unique and unlike any other Pad Thai we've tried. Another Yelp reviewer brought up that the website prices and the menu prices are not the same, and that is true, and that should probably be addressed, because the prices aren't even close. So don't expect Pad Thai for under $9, which the website states. We will return for sure, excellent meal and outstanding service. read more

Supon's Thai Kitchen is a small place and you could very easily drive right by without noticing it, located on Samish Way next to Kyoto Steakhouse, it is my new favorite Thai restaurant. This unassuming little place is pleasantly decorated and very clean. We were early and avoided the rush and greeted by a sweet young woman who seated us in a nice alcove that was perfect for social distancing. We ordered Fresh Rolls for starters and unfortunately we ate them before I realized I hadn't taken a picture, but just imagine fresh vegetables, basil, rice noodles and shrimp wrapped tightly in rice paper and served with a sweet garlic vinaigrette. Oh and I forgot to mention that they were HUGE! Like the size of a double stuffed burrito, easily 8 inches long and 3 inches in circumference and there were 2 of them! Ok now to my Pad Thai...I ordered the Thai style and it was DELICIOUS! The best Pad Thai that I have ever eaten, anywhere. I loved the slightly sweet and savory noodles and the abundance of chicken and peanuts. Fantastic stuff! But the star of the show was my husband's Hot Meat Combo stirfry. The freshest vegetables, perfectly stir fried in the tastiest sauce ever, with chicken, pork and beef, unbelievably delicious! Service was fast and courteous. Covid19 protocols were in place. Prices were competitive. Serving size was ample. Atmosphere was quiet and comfortable. The food was spectacular. Great little place! This was my birthday treat from my daughter who was a WWU student and really enjoyed this place and wanted to share it with me. It is located in a strip mall next to a very popular Japanese steak house which was hustling compared to the two tables of diners at Supon. Similar to other reviews, it seemed oddly hectic since there weren't many tables but there was only one server and between takeout and tableside service, she was stretched thin and stressed. We ended up getting takeout so my son could enjoy dinner, as well. He needs to eat gluten free and he ordered Kee Mao while I split Pad Thai with my daughter. We have a 20 minute drive home and it was still piping hot and ready to eat when we arrived. Loved the super-fresh veggies, traditional rice noodles, and care put into each dish. Not correct Panang curry was mediocre. It had way too much coconut cream/ milk and they did not have beef; only chicken. The jasmine white rice was reheated and stale. Their food is amazing. I order a Thai Style Chicken Phad Thai and a Holy Basil Fried Rice with Beef for takeout every other week from Supon's. The portions are hefty and they are always wrapped in a foil bowl for takeout. My first job was in the Thai food industry and I have been a huge fan ever since. I've tried most of the Thai restaurants in Bellingham some of which include; Thai House, Busara, On Rice, and Wanida's. Local friends brought me here today. Wow! It was great! They accommodated our 18-group banquet as we paid separately (we mentioned it while we were ordering). I can't attest to the authenticity or anything, but I liked everything I got to try. + the coconut milk + spiciness + prawn + mushroom soup (spiciness level 2) + garlic stir-fry with chicken (spiciness level 3) + Noodle Delight (spiciness level 1). Had a bit of sweetness to it, but not sweeeeet like those American teriyaki sauces. Yummy. I am not good at spiciness, so I asked for level 1 here, but next time, I think I can do level 3. Tried Supons for the first time and we shared the fried rice, drunken bottle and rama noodle. Rama noodle was supposed to be in peanut sauce but it was very thin and barely trashed like peanut with very thick noodles about the size is celery sticks. The drunken noodle was good but the fried rice was tasteless. Their menu seemed very basic, just the usual staples. Also think it is slightly more expensive than other Thai restaurants in Bellingham. She did not check at all after delivering the food, as should be done 2 minutes after serving In case their is a problem or need, eg missing silverware, etc. (Apparently she knew better than to ask how the food was.) Well, I don't know where to start. So here we go. Having a limited amount of Thai restaurants in Bellingham our friends swear by this place, and we wanted to treat them to a nice anniversary dinner. So we decided to bring them to their favorite. It was anything but great. One server was there to great us. I'm not sure if she was new to food service, but we were very patient with her lack of knowledge of everything; including beverages on the menu. It was a challenge for all of us, but we made the best of the night out. There was one cook in the back trying to keep up with multiple orders. To go and the ones in the restaurant. Which meant a lot of waiting. Definitely wayyyy overpriced for the quality of food. If you want to call it that. My meal came out burnt and completely lumped together. I could actually smell it burning while it was being cooked. Not a great sign. All in all, this is probably one of the worst Thai restaurants I've been to in a long time. I am actually surprised they are open. I didn't even think they were when we walked up. If you love Thai....skip this place. read more

I asked my waitress for her favorite noodle dish and I went for it; their own pad thai made like it is originally in Thailand (more salty than sweet) and I've never had anything like it! (A good thing, it was delicious.) * Mediocre Thai * Popped in for a quick bite on the way down to Seattle. At the exit I hopped off in Bellingham there were not a lot of options other than the usual fast food suspects. I spotted this Thai spot next to a Subway and grabbed lunch. I heard Thai being spoken in the kitchen - a good sign! But it ended there..... I had the pad see ew. It was served with a complimentary cup of soup (which was not very Thai in its flavours - it was more like an Eastern European cabbage soup). There was a slight hint of Thai flavours with a dash of fish sauce. But it was nothing I would need to repeat. The pad see ew itself had a decent char on the noodles, but they were overcooked and falling apart a bit. The beef was the toughest beef I remember having in the past few years! Shoe leather would be considered soft and subtle compared to this beef. It was not edible. The other unique aspect of the meal, was that it was the first time I've been served rice with pad see ew. It was certainly carb overload! Next time I'm passing through Bellingham, I'm going to get off at a different exit! read more

Window seat was COLD, so make sure you have either a warmer area or bring a coat. There is table seating and floor seating available. About $1.50-$3.00 more expensive per dish for comparable Thai restaurants in the area, which can seriously add up.
