Food is excellent, the specials are always fresh. Staff is friendly! We go here all the time to eat.

This is the second time we've ordered from Panasia inside the Silver Reef Casino in Ferndale, WA. It has limited hours and is only available for take-out Thursday-Sunday 4-10. Seems odd for a casino but I don't run the show. We like to get away for a night during the week every month or so and we like the Silver Reef. The take-out policy at Panasia is perfect for us. We order and bring it all back to the room anyway. Their menu is limited but they have some good stuff. I order the Mongolian Beef and we share Sweet and Sour Chicken. Mama gets the Yakisoba and we add their fried rice as well. All that feeds us twice each because we take the leftovers home the next day. Appetizers are limited to egg rolls or bbq pork. I've had both and prefer the pork with the hot mustard. The egg rolls were a little soggy last time. The MB is excellent. The right amount of green onions and the sauce is flavorful. I wanted to mention the sweet and sour chicken. They do it right. It's not just breaded chicken with that sweet red stuff drizzled on it. It's more like I remember from growing up in the SF Bay Area. The sauce was still red but it had red and green bell peppers in it with onion and pineapple chunks. Perfect. The Yakisoba is also excellent. Portions are good size and packed in plastic covered dishes. Prices are decent. At my local Chinese place in Stanwood I pay over $17 for less Mongolian Beef. Here it was less than $12 for more and it's better. When we order at our local place the bill can get over $80 fast for the same amount of food or less. Sorry there are no photos this time around. I recommend Panasia for the food alone. Being take-out only in a casino operation isn't the best concept but maybe they will open up their sit-down dining at some point. I am so glad this place opened back up! They have excellent food! And the service is top notch. Great atmosphere and clean.

The lunch specials are a really good value for the price but selections are kind of limited. I've been dining here for about 12 years or more and almost always found the food to be a good value and friendly and somewhat prompt service. The menu changes occasionally, they dropped my favorite chicken Thai curry a few years ago and I don't think I've ever forgiven them for that. Recently the honey walnut prawns and kung pao chicken have been my favorite go to choices. The pineapple curry fried rice or chicken satay did not disappoint either. Panasia restaurant is close to the gift shop and close to the hotel entrance so you don't have to walk through the smoke-filled sections to dine here. read more

Family sized portions for a great price. I recommend sharing one plate. Sesame chicken was flavorful but the general Tso's was not tasty. Peanut sauce for the Vietnamese spring rolls was very runny. I told the staff that my wife is allergic to seafood, our waiter Stephanie, and the kitchen staff, went out of their way to ensure she would have no problem. Then the food we ate was better than I expected from a casino restaurant, the price was excellent, and the staff were above that. We traveled from Lacey and were about to head back home , and I would do the trip just to eat here. Well worth the experience. read more

Yes, it's American style Chinese but you know this coming in. Tucked away close to the hotel entrance and non-smoking part of casino. Definitely too noisy right off the casino floor. I usually end up ordering something with prawns. Tonight was honey garlic with broccoli. HUGE (enough leftovers for two more meals) portions, bold flavors and I always ask for the extra sauces on the side. This is a good value for the $$$. They also offer a lunch menu and specials. Comfy over-sized booths, good service. The manager came to check on us a few times. Next time I will ask for my rice on the side with the garlic prawns. The sauce soaked up too much of the rice, but otherwise tasty and filling! read more

Why is it that very few Asian restaurants in Whatcom county have bars? My husband and I were craving Chinese food and adult beverages because it was Friday and we both needed a drink. We live in Ferndale where none of the Asian restaurants serve cocktails so we went to the casino (not my favorite choice for dining except for the Steakhouse) and tried Panasia. Aside from the noise of bells and gongs and the pervasive stench of spilled beer and cigarettes and the general ambiance, it was okay. We ordered two rounds of cocktails which came to $32. A little spendy but we ordered a couple fancy schmancy drinks, so that's on us. On to the meal- for starters we had the lobster potstickers. Meh. They were more like a pierogi, soggy like they were boiled, not steamed like a true dumpling or fried like a pot sticker- I'm not really sure what to call them but definitely not a pot sticker. They did have a nice piece of lobster inside but they didn't have any flavor. For entrèes we ordered Shrimp Egg Fu Young and Mu Shu Pork. We got three large Egg Fu Young patties and a nice helping of Mu Shu. No complaints about portions. The Egg Foo Young was cooked perfectly and filled with fresh vegetables and shrimp. The usual heavy gravy was replaced with a light black pepper sauce. Very tasty. The Mu Shu was a bit bland and lacked appetizing color as well. It was just sort of grey and flavorless. The service was exceptional but the ambience was tired looking. Torn seat cushions, dirty floors, dingy walls, crowded tables and the lighting was too bright. (Hint to management-if you turn down the lights people might not notice some of the above deficiencies) Basically it is what it is, a Chinese restaurant inside a casino. The food and staff were just as good as before unfortunately the cleanliness left something to be desired. We were seated right away and I noticed what looked like a noodle on the seat, okay easily missed no big deal. Then after we get the menu and order drinks I look closer and the table has crumbs on it and looks like it was wiped with a dirty rag. The food however was amazing all perfectly cooked and seasoned. We started with the lobster pot stickers. They were cooked well and perfect with a little chili oil and/or sauce. I had the coconut prawns with sauce which were also cooked perfectly and the sauce was great. It was topped with just a little cilantro and a lime wedge which blended well with the coconut on the shrimp and sauce. There were so many!! My husband got the pho bowl and added scallops. It was huge! And flavored well he really enjoyed it so much I had to try it and also thought it was good. Everything was well priced and the server was pleasant. read more

Unless you've got a huge craving to eat Chinese while playing slots, I wouldn't be back. Don't expect authenticity anyways inside the Silver Reef, but the food's just alright. Service was great but the current business model and most of the food quality was outright poor. The menu is extremely limited and take out only now. There were no drinks available, so you have to forage across the casino to find anything. The Egg rolls were very disappointing. They were absolutely soaking in dripping oil amd grease and not properly prepared before serving. Also their sweet sauce suspiciously resembles the unimaginative generic out of the bottle sweet chili sauce you can buy in most Asian grocery stores and some main stream grocery stores. The filling was too unbalanced with meat but it was a good try to use a more crispy wrapper, if it would have been fried correctly. The Mongolian Beef was a huge disappointment and a big hot mess in a take out container. I believe the dish could have had high potential if not absolutely drowned in salt and/msg which was unbearable, as the excessive sodium masked any other taste in the dish. It tasted toxic with so much sodium. That dish and the egg rolls went straight to the garbage can. The sesame chicken on the other hand was a pleasant surprise prepared very well, and it used large pieces of white meat chicken breast with a reasonable amount of light breading on it. This dish was fried well and did taste good in the sauce. Everything else except the nice individually wrapped fortune cookies went into the garbage can, being a big waste and disappointment. American style Chinese food is a great idea tgat I want to patronize, but only if you offer enough selection, create great unique qualty dishes, and prepare them properly. read more

Used to be a great place to get take out the last 3 times have sucked , no rice with my entree, asked for and was charged for extra shrimp got not only no extra but less than the normal amount and the ultimate fried rice entree has shrunk to half the amount it used to be . We started going to Panasia when it first opened and came back because it was good. After about 6 months, it was suddenly terrible. Thinking it was a one time thing, we tried it again, still bad. It was so bad, we have avoided it for the last year, or so. Tonight, we tried to get into the buffet, but there was a 2 hour wait. After waiting 45 minutes, we decided to give Panasia another try. BAD MOVE. It was just as bad as we remembered and will never try it again. The chicken was SO dry, it was almost inedible. We ordered Mandarin Chicken, Cashew chicken and fried rice. Can not recommend these, or anything else. Don't waste your money. read more

One of our favorites by far. Close to home and also great food. Never been disappointed here. My wife and I shared a meal and lettuce wraps and still took leftovers home. And left for $25 including tip. Delicious as always and waitress was great and very personable too. read more

Panasia to the rescue on Christmas! Chinese food on Christmas is a thing. This being our first Christmas back in Washington state, in a very long time, we planned very poorly and didn't research who would be open and who wouldn't. We even went so far as to look into whether (gasp) fast food Chinese options were open. Luckily, I stumbled on an old article that said Panasia was open last Christmas, and so here we are. Located inside the casino, it is not too far a drive from us (Birch Bay). The portions are huge, we ordered 3 entrees, fried rice, and soup - this fed 3 adults, two kids, and we had leftovers for lunch and dinner the next day. Seeing as how the Cantina and Steakhouse at Silver Reef are our 2 favorite local restaurants, I had great expectations for Pan Asia. We each ordered a 2 item combo. My broccoli beef was the only redeeming item among the orders. The sweet and sour chicken was meh, at best. My husband got the honey chicken (substituted chicken for prawn). Either their sauce is awful/non-existent, or they forgot the sauce, put some garnish on top and served it as a normal item. The chicken looked absolutely plain/dry. His General Tso chicken was quite spicy (he asked, and they said it wasn't). The included egg roll was decent. All in all, this is very generic Chinese fare - the kind you'd expect to find at a budget all you can eat buffet. I've had much better at the Haggen deli counter. The only pro for this particular restaurant is that it's the only one at Silver Reef in the smoke free section. read more

The service was good. Friendly. I think the poor thing was a little embarrassed to bring out the food. We ordered singapore noodles, pot stickers, won ton soup and rice. It was awful. Mushy like frozen-then-microwaved food, noodles slimy with ketchup, won ton filling like watery paste. I get it. I didn't expect great or even good. This was just barely edible. Eaten here a couple times now. All good. The sesame chicken is huge ! Enough for 4 . We had the sweet and sour this time, and the pad thai noodles. Very good service. Fast on the food. This place has a decent atmosphere. The food is sub par at best. We ordered broccoli beef and Kung Pao Chicken with brown rice. The rice was mushy. The beef broccoli was okay at best. The Kung Pao chicken was bland... The veggies in it were mushy like it had been made a while ago and was just sitting there. The service was fine, not bad, not great. We went with our kids and some friends because there was an hour wait at Red River Cafe. The service was good and attentive. It was not long before we got our food. The portions were generous and filling. They have a good menu and all of our dishes were good. read more

So disappointing, we were there for my birthday a year ago and it was so good we had to go back this year. What a disappointment!! Coconut prawn appetizer was fried to the point you could barely bite into them, so hard and chewy, they were disgusting. Mu Shu pork was okay but the wrappers were torn and disintegrating so you ended up wearing most of your food. My favourite was the honey garlic prawns, this time they were just so-so. Vegetables not as advertised, no water chestnuts, one piece of carrot, zucchini so over-cooked it was mush, snap peas were okay. The broccoli was steamed, but to the point of being mushy as well. Save your money and eat elsewhere because if they think this is quality food I hate to think how down hill the other restaurants have gone. Will never return to this restaurant. read more

Horrible! Tasteless Mandarin chicken and my wife ordered honey walnut chicken and it was very skimpy. Decided to try the hot and sour soup, it wasn't bad but it didn't come until our food arrived. Table of 9 and 1 person trying to wait on us while others stood sound. Definitely not the same restaurant it was when it first opened. They should focus more on food quality then presentation. I stopped in because I felt like eating noodles before I had a session at the blackjack table. I had edamame for an appetizer and beef chow mein. The edamame was quite good, although the extra rock salt sprinkled on for serving was a bit much. Next time I will just tell my server to skip the extra salt. The chow mein was quite good and they even had brown rice instead of just plain old white rice. My server was good. All in all, a good meal. read more

This was the most horrendous attempt at Chinese food I've ever had. We got the calamari appetizer and the batter was some weird doughy grossness that wasn't all the way cooked. The honey walnut prawns were like none I've ever had before, and not in a good way. The broccoli beef tasted like a salt lick. My friend got the general Tso's chicken and it was sweet and sour with some pepper flakes. Do yourself a favor and eat anywhere but here when visiting silver reef. read more

Amazing food! This has become my girlfriend and I's favorite restaurant! It is a must visit, and if you like semi-spicy food you must try their General Tsos chicken! So good.. definitively check this out and you will not be disappointed! The service is ok but could be better however the food is worth it alone! We have eaten at the Panasia on three different occasions. The quantity of food is huge. Two people could share one dish. The quality has been excellent - tasty and warm. Service has always been fast. There is room for some improvement on watress attitudes. Some are smiling and interact with the customers in a welcoming manner. We have been in the area for 6 months now and have struggled to find any decent Chinese food. We had been to Silver Reef several times but kept forgetting about Pan Asia as it is some-what tucked out of the way. Went for lunch and we both ordered the two-combo meal with honey walnut prawns and sesame chicken. Both were EXCELLENT! We are big fans of "wok'd" food and not a lot of breading so we were very pleased as our food was both. The honey walnut prawns were fantastic. The prawns were lightly breaded (really dusted) and did not have a big wad of sweet "goop" as is the norm but instead had a "crumble" of deliciousness on top. The sesame chicken was also lightly breaded with fantastic sauce. We ordered fried rice (up-charge) and it was some of the best fried rice we have eaten. The egg roll that came with the meal was superb. Last but not least..we had great service. The restaurant was packed but everyone was pleasant and attentive. We'll be returning.....SOON! read more

I spent years in the Far East, know good Asian cooking and have been pleasantly surprised by some fine Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants in Colorado. But I cannot say the same for the Bellingham area. Every "Asian" restaurant I have visited so far has disappointed and Panasia in the Silver Reef Casino is particularly vile. My wife and I went there for an early July 2 dinner and left nauseated. Lobster potstickers were obviously frozen, thawed in a microwave and served wet and mushy. The Mongolian beef had enough salt to kill any self-respecting Mongolian. My wife couldn't eat it. And the Singapore Noodles bore no relation to any Singapore noodles I've ever eaten. The real deal are yellow, thinner-than-spaghetti egg noodles, wok-fried with a mixture of shrimp, twice-cooked pork, tofu, onions and hot peppers in a mild Malayan curry sauce. What I got was a bland, gluey mess of overcooked glass noodles hiding chunks of chicken, corn, green onion and small slices of something resembling a sausage. I could not recognize the sauce, nor want to ever again. My move to the Pacific Northwest has convinced me not to expect authentic Asian food north of Seattle or south of Vancouver. But restaurants that profess to serve it should at least try harder. read more
