Chat Bhavan has been one of my favorite restaurants in Dublin for the past seven years, and the quality has remained consistently exceptional. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and very well prepared, and the service is equally impressive. What stands out the most for me is their lunch menu. It is very reasonably priced, the portions are generous, and the overall value is excellent. Maintaining the same high standards of food quality, service, and consistency for so many years is not easy, but Chat Bhavan continues to do it exceptionally well. After seven years of visiting, I can confidently say their standards have always been up to the mark. The original chaat place that still hits the mark. I remember driving 20+ miles to Fremont just for the wraps back in the day, before there was a plethora of chaat/Indian cafe style food choices available. I still go here for the wraps when the craving strikes. I mostly order takeout style and mostly the paneer and the chicken wraps. I enjoy the paneer wrap more than the paneer tikka one, because the latter is basically just paneer tikka and naan. The paneer wrap on the other hand has an aloo tikki (usually a bit spicy) and a slab of pan fried paneer. I like that they don't skimp on the paneer and provide the extra chutneys for you to add per your taste. Placing the order over the phone is super easy and I have never had a negative experience. The staff works efficiently and are friendly. Parking can be a bit of a problem in this complex but nothing that can't be worked out. read more

I am so so extremely disappointed. I ordered dahi batata sev puri TO GO. Typically, the wet and dry contents would be packed separately but in this case, buyer beware, it is assembled and will be soggy trash by the time you get home. Don't even get me started on the LACK of any actual dahi (yogurt) in this item... barely any chutney... basically, even if it had not been soggy, it would have been a fail. I called Chaat Cafe to inquire and hope they could make this right and "Melvin" (if that was his real name) said that this is how it is and there is nothing they can or will do. "Melvin" said I should have ASKED for it to be packaged separately. Sigh. After being a longtime customer who stuck by despite the quality of this place slowly diminishing, this dahi batata sogfest marks the end for me. read more

The food reminds me of Brampton Indian food - it's flavourful and properly marinated. The spice can be built up. The mint/coriander chutney is ready by the counter for anyone to help themselves. Ended up here by chance, and happy I did! Staff was welcoming upon entering and the menu was full of options that had my eyes much bigger than my tummy. I went with the samosa chaat and butter chicken. The samosa chaat was perfectly seasoned and I loved that the pastry was light and flaky. It also had a nice kick on the back end for the spice level. The dish was bigger than I had anticipated and I could have gotten away with just ordering that... note to self for next time (as there WILL be a next time.) The cucumber salad I can do without. I can't quite identify what it was about it, but I didn't care for it. The butter chicken was on the lighter said than what I'm used to in terms of flavor profile, but good nonetheless. Randomly ended up here after watching a movie in the area, and it didn't disappoint! I ordered the Veggie Wrap and samosas. Both were delicious. The veggie wrap is not heavy at all. It has just the right amount of flavor, and almost reminds me of the refreshing taste of mediterranean food. The samosas were really good as well. You can't really go wrong with samosas, in my opinion. Service was super quick. They brought out the food within 15 min or so from the time the waiter took our order. Friendly staff too! I had the hugest craving for authentic Indian food, and Chaat Café satisfied my stomach adequately. The restaurant is open for dine-in, and has plenty of booths and tables to eat at. We ordered takeout, however, a rather recent and well-written review by another Yelper had sparked my concern. She expressed how the kitchen staff would stare and make her uncomfortable every time she dined in the restaurant, which in my opinion, is unacceptable. The food itself is delicious, I must say. We ordered a butter naan, a garlic naan, and a paneer tikka masala. The naan was soft, scrumptious, and the perfect complement to the savory nature of the paneer tikka masala. The garlic naan is my personal favorite. I'm a fan of all things garlic flavored, and their naan wasn't too overpowering in regards to flavor strength. I was in the area and from the menu the Papri Chaat looked like a tasty change from the typical lunch, sort of an Indian style nachos. Instead, what I got was super drenched chip pieces that tasted like the outside of a samosa, garbanzo beans and cold pieces of boiled potato. Food: 3 My husband and I wanted Indian food so we came here to try their food for the first time and it was good. We ordered samosa, chicken tikka masala, lamb curry, and a side of garlic naan. I thought the samosa was delicious. I really liked the fact that you can grab your own tamarind sauce so you can grab as many as you want. I thought the filling in the samosa was nicely seasoned and they were a good size. The chicken tikka masala was good and more enjoyable than the lamb curry. My husband and I thought the lamb curry was just okay because it felt like it was missing something. The garlic naan was good and my husband really enjoyed how much garlic was put on the naan. Service: 4 Overall I think they were pretty fast on their service. We ordered our food and maybe sat down for 10 min or less before our food started coming out. I liked that you can grab your own utensils. The workers were friendly. Overall: 3.5 I would definitely come back and try the other food on their menu. I think that if you want Indian food for lunch this place is definitely worth a try. They give you plenty of sauces and more than enough rice for your entrees. Not only is the food fresh & flavorful but the staff is so friendly. That makes me want to go there even more. The food tastes delicious at this location, I prefer it over most other Indian restaurants in the area. Their fish options are outstanding such as Salmon Tandoori and Fish Curry (Swai). Their daily specials are a great compliment to the main entrees. I particularly like the eggplant on Wednesdays and Aloo Gobi on Mondays. You know I lived in Hawaii most my life but moved to the Bay Area a few years back. One thing that's not very popular in Hawaii is Indian food, so I really had no experience when I moved here. Those are my two go two dishes if I need something quick and guaranteed to be good. I tried getting my uncultured brother to eat here, but he would have not of it. What a shame. This place is real good, from an Asian tastes, anyway. And the people here are friendly. Oh and here's the kicker....they have beer! Before the 'rona, we would actually sit here and eat and drink. Now that I'm working in Livermore, I am so happy I'm able to grab my regular lunches here!!! I had no idea they even offered lunch specials, but I am so happy. The flavor that the food has here is so superb. They really do put love in their cooking. I got the Desi Chicken Wrap spicy level. It was mouthwatering. Delicious. Perfect. I'm filled up from my lunch! I asked for lemon on the side and it made the flavor POP more.
