Highly recommend for the dessert alone. Melts in your mouth and the flavors are spot on. Moist and delicious not too sweet it's simply perfection. I enjoyed the chicken and lamb Kebobs and the shrimp biryani was really good as well. They have a large dining area and self service for water which is very convenient. Highly recommend. read more

Food is top notch. Their goat ghee roast biryani is up there with some of the best I've had and other dishes I've tried have been very good. Indian eatery in Dublin-San Ramon area that serves excellent biryani. I met an old friend and colleague here for lunch today and we ordered the Goat Ghee Roast Biryani ($15.99) which is one of their specialties. We also ordered the saag paneer (usually mild) with naan to hedge our bets and get some healthy veggies into our system! The place is quite bare bones from a décor perspective as it is mostly a takeout joint, but we seated ourselves at one of the few tables and my friend grabbed a pitcher of water and a couple of plastic cups. The food arrived quickly - served in compostable serving ware, and the plates were also compostable. But the serving spoons and forks were plastic, strangely enough. The food was spicier than I expected. The saag paneer was flavorful and enjoyable once I learned to fish out the large chili peppers from it. The biryani was excellent (thankfully it was not as spicy as the saag paneer), with big chunks of goat curry, but it was a bit on the oily side. We discarded the plastic-ware, compostable plates and food scraps, and other waste in the SINGLE waste bin, hoping they would sort this out later. They need to have separate plastic waste, green waste, and landfill waste bins as a minimum. Will likely do takeout in the future if I feel like having some biryani. Stopped by specifically for takeaway without any previous recommendations or any idea about this venue beforehand, purely chosen for its convenience to where I happened to be .... and the efficiency, value and flavors did not disappoint! It is located in an outdoor mall, no outdoor seating but ample space ... somewhat generic non-decored space inside. Free chai tea sample while waiting! The interior is very commercial and practical, presenting items in standard and family sizes, including curries, biryani and other goodies. Based on elaborate displays, apparently cakes and other eggless treats were on offer too! On a Friday night, lots of patrons, each waiting their turn... We ordered takeaway.... butter chicken, saag paneer and best of all lamb biryani. We also had garlic and butter naans and condiments. My 3 item order was prompt... and ready to take home. We ordered food from Biryani Junction last week and got 10 naans to take home for dinner with guests. Unfortunately, the naans were very hard, dry, and almost impossible to break by hand. They felt stale rather than fresh and soft. It was honestly embarrassing to serve them to our guests. Naan should be warm and fluffy, but these were tough and unappetizing. To the business owner: Running a food business involves serving people who are hungry, and they pay for the food to satisfy their hunger. I understand that you need to make a profit. However, do not compromise by serving old food, as this can lead to negative consequences for your business. All I had was the lentil dish, and I experienced stomach upset throughout the night. I did not eat anything else outside or at home, so I am confident that the issue was with the food from this establishment. Cook fresh and do not serve crap. Even this restaurant needs health inspection and you freezer needs to be examined to know when you cook and how long you store, heat up the crap to serve your customers. Also do not serve hot food on plastic. What could have gone wrong? The naan bread was freshly made, so it seems unlikely to be the cause. It appears that they might have used old lentils that were frozen for several days and then used to cook. I will not be returning. I advise others to be cautious about what they pay for. read more

Everything they said on Yelp is mostly true in regards to the negative ratings. This place is extremely slow and they also got our order incorrect, swapping in tandoori chicken when it was supposed to be an order of chicken tikka masala. The tandoori chicken was extremely dry. The butter chicken was greasy and the saltiest butter chicken I've ever had and it didn't have chunks but rather shredded chicken which was interesting. The vegetable pakora didn't have veggies at all, like barely because it felt like 98% batter. The naan was not pillowy and was flat and chewy. All I can remember and take away from this experience was how salty and dry everything was. I guess that's what you get when you order Indian food from a pastry shop though lol The cakes were the standout for me, the pistachio cake is really moist and delicious and so was the mango. Their cakes are definitely most on the dense side but more so on the cream and less on the actual sponge cake. Still good. Stick to their cakes and avoid the food is my bet. read more

I walked in yesterday on my way to Lucky's to order lunch. There was only one other person at the counter who had picked up his food. I would have been next but I was ignored. I waited while the person at the counter saw me, turned his back to me to do something else, ignored me, without as much an acknowledgement. I gave him plenty of time to at least acknowledge that he would be right with me. Nothing. And so, I left. There are too many places that are actually happy to have customers. The quality here has gone way down. I used to enjoy their biryani a few months ago, but yesterday's order was terrible. I got the Mutton Roast Biryani and Special Chicken Biryani--both were just plain white rice with some masala on top. You could literally see chunks of unflavored rice. Google took me to this restaurant, and probably they're on demand for the same, so when I called em up they were out of Lollipop and I had to place the order the following evening. The butter chicken at Biryani Junction is awesome. I hope they don't change this dish. I ordered it as is, no changes. The sauce was rich and yummy. The cooks are very skilled. They have adjusted the spices to appeal to a wider customer base without diluting the flavor. Note there is still spice in the dish but the heat is more warming than aggressive. The sauce has depth and umami with a hint of sweetness. The spice level was only mildly spicy for me. But my mom, who doesn't even like ground pepper in her food, found it too spicy. Eaten with rice or naan toned down the heat considerably. An FYI, the reheated leftovers tasted spicier the next day. A last FYI, take your pills if you are lactose intolerant. My takeout order was well packaged. While I normally abhor plastic takeout containers, in this case, it was necessary to prevent spillage. The chicken had a lot of sauce. It came in a 16 ounce deli container with a tight seal. A round of soft, pillowy naan was also included in the price. I had to order the rice as an add on. With a 5% discount for paying in cash, I was charged $15.48, a fair price at today's prices. One caveat, while the restaurant is currently giving a discount for paying in cash, bring exact change. Or pay digitally. They don't seem to have coins in the till. I got back my change in bills but I was shorted about 52 cents. Also, be prepared to wait. While kitchen staff are great cooks, I don't think they are necessarily experienced cooking for a restaurant. Only 2 tables were occupied when I walked in but there were lots of takeout orders. My stated wait time was off by about 15 minutes. I was apparently lucky. A lady before me was upset that she had been waiting over 30 minutes for her takeout order. Another caveat, the front of the house needs work. While not necessarily rude, the stoic expression on the cashier was off-putting. I went up to the register and he just stared at me. No smile, greeting or offer of help. I had to initiate conversation myself, otherwise I think it would have devolved into a staring contest. Positively, the atmosphere is simple and clean. The ceilings are high. The space isn't crowded. Dummy cakes, beautifully decorated, line the back walls and serve as the main decoration. Shelves with cookies and bread and a refrigerated case with single serving pastries further showcase the restaurant's offerings. A self-service counter not only has the usual water, napkins, etc. but also has complimentary hot chai. So despite the buts I mentioned above, the tasty food will bring me back. If the caveats persist, I may have to reevaluate but for now this rates a repeat visit. read more

I order 65$ worth of food and they give me two tiny half filled chutney cups. When I ask if I can buy more they say no?!? Like really why can't I even buy more if I want it? Cashier didn't know if I could use a coupon we got from the back of grocery store receipt, after consultation and a phone call, it was determined we could use it. Then didn't apply the $5 off.
