Since the Haleem was so good, I decided to try more items and ordered biryani, garlic naan, rumali roti, and chicken 65 on a weekday. I know ordering from an Indian restaurant on a weekday can be a bit of a gamble. Unfortunately, the biryani was very stale and had no flavor at all. I never had any Indian biryani this tasteless. The chicken 65 was not fresh either it looks like they mixed old pieces with new ones, and the difference in taste was so obvious. The rumali roti and garlic naan were packed well and tasted decent, best part of the whole order. I am not planning to dine in anytime soon because of inconsistency. read more

And Biryani Bistro - Dublin certainly earned their two star rating. Which is a shame, because I really wanted to like this local establishment. I specifically asked for food to be made mild. And repeated it two more times to make sure it sunk in. The receipt indicates they did. Unfortunately, they ignored my request. The daal makhani was ridiculously spicy with an over abundance of red chili. The saag paneer was only a notch below that. Which meant neither my wife nor our kids could eat these two dishes. The butter chicken was tolerable (though closer to medium spicy than mild) and they ended up eating mostly this, with lots of naan. Won't be coming back. read more

We have ordered the paneer biriyani (family pack) and Gobi 65! Overall I am amazed by the quantity. The family pack comes with pakoras, Gulab Jamun in addition to raita. The serving is enough for a family of 3-4. Now coming to the taste, the biriyani is Hyderabad style, gravy soaked rice on the bottom and white rice on the top. Didn't like the raw onion in biriyani but other than that, overall I like the biriyani. The paneer tastes and looks like tofu, not a paneer. But this happened to me many times from "Indian" restaurants so I just let it slide. Overall taste wise the biriyani is a 4 out of 5. I chose mild and we got mild as well. Gobi 65 is a bit dry for my taste but there are plenty of cauliflower seasoned and cooked perfectly. Overall taste wise both of the dishes are good. The pakoras on the side are very crunchy, so an unexpected surprise! I would highly recommend this place and looking forward to trying other biriyanis as well. I got a massive stomach ache eating here. I can't tell if it's just my body not used to this amount of spices and whatnot so I don't want to grade on that. I will write base on taste alone for takeout. The butter chicken was more tomato based than I've had before, it's slightly sweet. The tandoori chicken (dry) was just that, it was really dry! The fish biryani was interesting, the fish fry got a little soggy underneath the rice and it was super spicy for having chosen mild. We checked out their menu and decided to order the chicken briyani and channa masala with garlic naan. Since we cannot consume dairy we asked if there was something non dairy or similar to aloo gobi. Whole chickpeas in a tomato base. Full of flavor and was perfect with the garlic naan. Must try! Chicken Biryani 4/5 The biryani was ok. The rice was pretty good however the chicken was more lukewarm. The texture of the chicken was off and I am not sure if it was dark meat or overcooked. The flavor was good and I will definitely return but maybe try the mutton biryani or the chicken fried biryani. Also wish the naan portion was bigger. One piece of naan wasn't enough for two people. Tried this restaurant for the first time, and came across the reviews on family pack that comes with appetizers and desserts. Took a to go, and was quite impressed with the quantity. The appetizers of course is not sufficient for a family, it was about 7-8 pieces of chicken Manchurian, and I wasn't expecting too much. Same with the dessert, you could expect 1 gulab jamun. Now back to the biriyani. .while I liked the flavor of the Hyderabadi biriyanis, the pieces in this one were extraordinarily big. There were about 6-7 REALLY big pieces, so definitely felt like chicken was more than the rice, and that's not really the way I prefer it. If you like spice and carbs, then Biryani Bowl is definitely the place for you! This restaurant occupies a small shop just a few doors down from Boba Bliss. I came here for some takeout on 09/05/2021. There were no dine-in customers when I walked in at around 5:30 pm. The interior was decently clean but a bit cluttered. None of the staff had gloves on. The cashier had a mask on, but it wasn't worn properly. The same was observed with the cooks working in the kitchen. That was a concern to me because of all the virus variants that are circulating. It took a few minutes before I was greeted by the cashier. Since I had a chance to check out their menu while I was waiting, I quickly ordered the following: - Fish Biryani Family Pack ($26.92) - Chicken Tikka ($11.91) - Chicken Tikka Masala ($10.41) - Palak Paneer ($4.94) - Butter Naan x2 ($2.42 each) The fish biryani was garnished with halved eggs, lime wedges, and fried shallots and served with raita (yogurt sauce) and a gravy on the side. The portion was very generous (enough for four people). The fish was spicy and delicious. The raita was a great accompaniment to offset the heat from the spices. The chicken tikka was flavorful but dry. Judging from the amount juice that came out from the meat, the dryness was likely caused by the fact that I live 20 minutes away and the meat dried out during the drive home. The chicken tikka masala was good. The chicken was tender and the masala was robust with a hint of sweetness. The butter naans were the perfect vessels to mop up each drop of sauce. The palak paneer, made with spinach and Indian cheese, was so-so. Nothing too special. Service was good. Everything was neatly packed and ready at the time promised. The cashier was a friendly fellow. He even gave me a few items on the house (soda, small container of chili chicken, and gulab jamun). Overall, I liked the food but their COVID-19 safety practices were concerning. As such, I think for this experience a 3-star rating is a fair assessment. We've ordered take out from here for years and cut was always fantastic. I'm not sure if they changed owners or chefs but our last order was subpar. I always get the chicken vindaloo which came with big chunks of potato and chicken. This order had tiny little potatoes and the chicken was mostly bones. Not a single piece of chicken without bone. I came here because I was craving biriyani and this place is called Biriyani Bowl, so I came here, hence the name. I ordered and waited about 15-20 minutes for my food which is pretty standard. I got the Goat Biriyani. Goat Biriyani- The meat to rice ratio was off. There weren't many pieces of goat, and most of the goat pieces were just bone. Also, there wasn't much flavor in the dish so I recommend using the sauces they give. It was just like eating spicy rice with goat shreds. We used to be a good fans of Biryani Bistro. The Hyderabad special dum biryani was really good however for the past 2 times they mix stale previous day's rice with current day's rice and serve you. Happened with Vijaywada Egg Biryani too. It's not fresh at all. Within the first bite you can make out it is stale. I wrote this review so that the owners are aware of this. We are utterly disappointed. I hope they don't get caught doing this when the health inspectors eat their food. read more

Biryani Bowl satisfied my family's craving for Indian food. Takeout was packaged well, plentiful and a good price. We enjoyed having a variety of dishes to sample. Tandoori Mix Platter-variety of meats including chicken, shrimp and ground beef seasoned and grilled to perfection. Chicken Biryani-I've been disappointed by many biryanis. They are often loaded with too many ingredients, oily and lacking in flavor. However, this biryani was delicious! The chicken was tender and coated in a delicious sauce. The rice was light and fluffy. The container was completely filled with rice and a generous amount of chicken. So good! Curries and dishes-we tried a variety Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, Vindaloo, and Chicken Chettinad. All the sauces tasted different and were full of flavor. Nothing was too spicy and even my youngest son was able to try everything. Our favorites were the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Vindaloo. The one mistake with our order was the vindaloo. We ordered it with goat, but given chicken. Naan-plain, garlic and onion were all delicious and perfect for all the sauces!! What a great find! We enjoyed our dinner and had leftovers for lunch. I ordered online and was told it will be ready in about 25mins. After 1hour and later waiting at the restaurant for more than 15mins, i am told it will take another 10mins. And my order was a mutton dum biryani and veg noodles. Now coming to the food. There were literally 4 small pieces of meat and absolutely no flavor to even consider it average. And the veg noodles was a BIG joke. Literally, plain noodles mixed with soy sauce and a tiny sprinkling of scallions as garnish. Never seen veg noodles with literally zero veggies. My sister and I have never had biryani bowls and so we were willing to be adventurous today. When your Asian all you do is crave rice and this was literally the closest spot next to the boba Bliss so it was convenient. We walked in totally clueless. I asked if I can order a butter chicken biryani and the lady looked at me like crazy. Lol We admittedly told her that of course we have never tried biryani bowls. So she recommended either the chicken or lamb. Therefore we ordered one of each so we can try both. Once we brought the rice home our mouths were not ready for such an explosion of spice in our mouths. It was hot AF and it burned painfully our tongues. I do like spicy food but this was a whole nother level. But that's probably normal level spicy for other people. Our boxes were packed full like literally it felt like a brick it was so heavy I could do bicep curls with them cuz they put so much rice. I do appreciate the portions. But the rice to meat ratio was off. I felt like there was not enough meat. I ate it again the next day and it was a little more tolerable in terms of spice. I have no reference for what good biryani should taste like but for me overall although larger portions are great it doesn't make it better. The spiciness is good but maybe too spicy for me I didn't know better granted the yogurt sauce it came with did help a little bit. I tried pani puri last week and it was live pani puri stall . The taste was WORST and experience/ behavior/ attitude of the server also WORST. The ragada ( yellow peas) was hard to chew and semi cooked. They had sweet, tangy and spicy water. However, even after requesting they did not offer all three mixture of water but RUDELY giving only one of the water... which is really shocking and irritating. They had sev to add as garnishing over a puri but after requesting only they provided. Usually sev , onions , cilantro are provided beforehand. Overall experience was worst and never seen this attitude of a server in live pani puri stall. read more

This was my first time coming here and it was busy inside and out. We came here for pani puri and it was unlimited that was very good. In my opinion I haven't tried the biryani but I know it must have been good because pick ups were so long and all we wanted was pani puri. The spinach is very creamy in texture with big pieces of paneer. My daughter is a fan of the chili paneer. We have been trying different items each time we order. Tonight we had the biryani gongura chicken. There was lots of rice and a very tasty gravy on the chicken. We also had the gobi Manchuria. It reminded me a little of sweet and sour. When YouTube'r Khalid Al Ameri sought out the best Biryani in Dubai, I grew found of the interesting South Asian dish. I have tried a bunch of Indian food, but never a biryani. Again, a few clicks in Yelp and I found Biryani Bowl not far form work; Work lunch is now planned. I decided to pick up the biryani and eat at work. Biryani Bowl is in the small center, corner Alcosta Blvd and San Ramon Rd. (as a matter of fact, the same location might be the former Lumpia House) There is a lot of Indian dish offerings served, which quite frankly looks very delicious. But I am on a mission to get one and one dish only: (boneless) Chicken Dum Biryani. I did not have to wait a long while and my biryani was ready. The restaurant looks fairly standard, but I like that each table has its own pitcher of water for patrons, nice. Came back to work quickly and opened up my aromatic lunch, its ginormous! An order of biryani is legitimately good to feed two grown men, big thumbs up. The biryani is full of flavor. I love how the different shades of basmati rice make up for such harmonious taste. Lest we forget the chicken buried beneath the mound of rice. It was pipping hot yet it was tender is delicious as well. Best part is the spice; it's interesting because the spice level does not wane even if your take a break from chowing down, and I love it. This is my first biryani.
