Good South Indian food in the east Bay Area with amazing varieties of fish/chicken/lamb. Recently ordered to go the Vanjaram king fish and the Chennai style chicken biryani and both were delicious! Highly recommended!

Sigh, not a keeper. Watery dals. Hair in the food. Even the biryani was a disappointment. Off the keeper list.

A South Indian eatery that's kinda different with unique flavors going by the spicy but extremely tasty mutton masala kari thosai (dosa)...have to come back and try their thali next time which seemed to be popular with other patrons seated nearby.

So good!! Nethili fish , celone paratha, Madurai chicken and faluda... just delicious. Weekends are often crowded. Join the waitlist and you get a notification once the table is ready. Service was quick and the ambiance was nice.

Didn't know about this restaurant chain being so close to my place. We wanted fish, some good biriyani and this one had a good variety of options. The bibiriyani tasted delicious, the strong aroma makes you think it might be loaded with cinnamon n cloves, but that isn't the case once you start eating. The balance of flavor is just right. I can say I've had better Kerala parotta elsewhere. The blend with chicken curry was great.

We visited this place based on a friend's suggestion and were warmly welcomed by a very cheerful hostess, Shirisha. She took our order with a smile, which is not very common in such Indian restaurants. We were a party of seven and had to wait for about 10 minutes. This is a cozy place with nice decor--we especially liked the copper plates and cups that were set up. We ordered the mutton thali, veg thali, chicken curry and paratha, seeraga samba natu koli biryani, and the seafood 65. All dishes were very flavorful and on point. We especially loved the chicken biryani, which was the best we've had in a while.

Good find - my family have been to this place more than me and wanted to go there this lunch afternoon. We tried; 1) appetizers; seafood platter 2) main; fish thali, parotta with chicken masala, Chennai dum biryani 3) payasam with coconut and vanilla icecream This cuisine comes from southern part of India Great place for non veg items with fewer options for vegetarians. Service is pleasant and quick and nice ambiance overall. Enjoyed all the items including the seafood platter- included crab, fish, shrimp and calamari. The deep fried crab was surprisingly soft and tasty. Definitely coming back again to explore few other items.

I don't know why the reviews are poor. We dined in. Ordered egg dosai, pomfrate fry, and egg kothu paratha. All the dishes taste like authentic South Indian dishes. Egg dosai is amazing, so is kothu paratha. The egg dosai has an inside layer or egg, comes with different chutneys. Kothu paratha comes with a chicken curry filling on the side. The curry tastes very coconut-y. The reason I still think it's five star is because this is someone can ignore if they want. The paratha is delicious by itself. Definitely worth a try. And this is coming from a North Indian person if that motivates someone to try!

Authentic South Indian food! Only thing that was a miss was the fish fry but otherwise great! The mutton was nice and soft. The prawns were fresh and spicy. The parotta was yum! It's a smaller spot so you may have to wait but the turn around is pretty quick. Love the South Indian vibe all around felt home like.

Nice ambience with traditional interior decor. Service was good except some delays ( well it's understandable) Food was above average but nothing great. We enjoyed the mutton thali, vanjaram fish fry and parotta. They have few combo deals going on we tried egg dosa combo it was okayish but not as expected. We felt it wasn't fresh especially the chicken curry and idiyappam. They replaced the idly though after we complained about how dry it was. Overall it was good but Milpitas branch has great food (We always overeat there :P )

Very nice and clean ambiance, food came quick and the service was responsive. Very mild kick, great for those who want just a bit of spice but not too much.

Walked around the building looking for the entrance. Tripped at least once on uneven payment. Upon entering I was greeted, given a menu, assigned a seat at the bar. Seeing it was a drink menu, I asked for a food menu. After consultation with bartender, I ordered. He gave order to waitress. Never saw him again. 5ish minutes later, waitress came over to inquire what I wanted to drink. "Water" i replied. Water came 12 minutes later with my food. Offerings: South India fare: soup, entrees, salads, entrees, vegetarian, non-vegetarian. Also pasta, India habachi. Bites: Dakshin Chicken Chettinad (18.99) med. Spicy. Small bowl with big spoon -boneless chicken pieces slowly braised in a savory with many spices (garlic, cumin, black pepper, star anise, funnel seeds, kok slaps...), south curry leaves, and coconut. Every bite deliz. -very condensed savory mix with plentiful Unami. Hotness from peppers not chilis. Tandoori garlic naan (3.99) ordered this. Got plain. Tasted plain. Not spiciness. Desired garlic not to repel vampires but to lower my cholesterol. Didn't discover discrepancy till I checked receipt. When finished, I asked the new bartender for bill. He called waitress. She came over and asked can she clear plates? "Ok" I said. She did and disappeared. Asked bartender again for my bill. Decor is lots of bright lites, big dining area, 2 flatscreens tuned to sports. A fish tank with no fish, lots of hanging faux leaves from ceiling & the left wall. 3.5 stars Food wonderful. Service & decor underwhelming. Doubtful repeat.

The service was good but they were refilling the Naans on request. But they cleared our plates and filled water promptly. The food was a good mix and all of us liked it. There were some issues and we pointed it out to the manager and he was appreciative of the feedback. He even offered to give us some samplers to take home. We were already full and so declined. From a service standpoint, hands down the worst service I've ever had in a restaurant. Forget about the food at the buffet section, even our water was not getting refilled. When I asked the lead host/waiter if the food was getting refilled at the buffet section, he gestured with his hands asking us to wait in a very rude way. I lost all appetite before the food was refilled. There were no desserts as well. While paying the bill , I tried to have a polite conversation with the lead host , to tell him what I experienced, he said too many people came at the same time , so food was getting finished quickly, while the reality was half the restaurant was empty.
