Samosa Chaat / kadai chicken / Garlic Naan

We recently ordered the samosa chaat and kadai chicken with garlic naan and white rice from bandiwala/tabla and both were amazing. . Hoping to visit bandiwala for the on site chaat soon! Highly recommended!!

We came by on a Sunday to try their thali lunch special. There's plenty of parking since it's part of a complex, which was nice. When we arrived, there wasn't anyone to greet us. After waiting about 15 minutes, we went inside to ask the only server if we could be seated. Another 15 minutes and a few check-ins later, we were finally shown to a table. They use a QR code for the menu, but you can't order through it. You still have to wait for someone to take your order, which took a while. We eventually got someone's attention and ordered two thalis, one egg biryani, and one dahi vada. We asked a few times to make everything mild, but it all came out closer to medium spice. The flavors were great, but it was too spicy for us to really enjoy most of the food. The chai at the end was a highlight. It's free and self-serve, and was delicious. We'd be open to coming back at a quieter time and hoping for better service and a better handle on the spice level.

There's definitely room for improvement here. We entered through the side entrance of the restaurant and didn't see a host or anyone to greet us, which was a confusing start. It took about 30 minutes to get seated, and there seemed to be only one waiter covering the entire dining area, so we had to flag them down each time we needed something. We ordered two thalis and an egg biryani, which we were told would be mild, but all the dishes turned out to be much spicier than expected. Unfortunately, it was too overwhelming for us to enjoy fully. That said, the flavors themselves were excellent, and it's clear the kitchen knows how to cook well. If we return, we'll be sure to ask in advance which dishes are truly mild. One thoughtful touch we appreciated: the self-serve chai station at the front. It added a nice, homey feel to the experience.

Delicious Indian food in a casual atmosphere with friendly service! I was in the mood for Indian food and wanted to try a new place. What a find! Our friendly server Pankah gave us some great recommendations. The Banjara Chicken was incredible. Boneless pieces of chicken thighs marinated in yogurt and spices then grilled were very flavorful and juicy. The mildly spicy herby mint chutney complimented the chicken well. I liked the Dal fry-yellow lentils were spiced and creamy. I wanted a curry and the recommended Chicken Chettinadu was delicious. Tender morsels of chicken thighs in a spicy savory sauce was delicious with the garlic naan we ordered. I can't wait to come back to try more dishes!

Looks like they opened it recently. There used to be another Indian restaurant. They have digital menu. We waited for sometime for the server to take our order. But the food arrived quickly. The grilled masala fish was good so was the chicken 65. However want to clear, the picture in the menu showed two whole fishes but they served just one fillet. The naans were fresh, dal fry was yummy and chicken tikka masala was good too. The ambiance could have been better. I feel they are still setting up. The seating arrangement is bit odd . But will give them some slack. Overall good food

Been to tabla multiple times and the breakfast buffet during the weekends is a hit with our kids, I love the thali on the weekdays and it's very reasonable. They have digital menu and service is usually quick on the weekdays however I felt it gets a little bit crowded for the breakfast buffet which might result in longer lines

We visited Tabla Restaurant for the first time to celebrate my mom's birthday and were pleasantly surprised--it used to be Amaravathi the last time we came to this location. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. They even offered to bring out a dessert (Apricot Shahi Tukda) with candles at the end of our meal to help us celebrate, which was such a thoughtful gesture--and to our delight, it was complimentary! As for the food and service--we were thoroughly impressed. We ordered Gobi 65 (dry), Chicken 65 (dry), Masala Fish, Garlic Cheese Naan, Masala Dosa, Chicken Fried Rice, Pav Bhaji, Goat Biryani, Banjara Chicken, Rose Milk, and Mango Lassi. Portion sizes were generous, and everything we tried tasted great--most dishes were a solid 8/10 or better. Pankaj (I believe he's the manager) was incredibly courteous, checked in on us several times, and offered spot-on recommendations. A special shout-out to the wonderful lady at the front who seated us and quietly made sure the birthday dessert--with candles and even a "Happy Birthday" song on the TV's was brought out at just the right moment. That really made our evening extra special. To top it all off, although we didn't ask for it, Pankaj generously gave us a 10% discount as a kind gesture from the restaurant. Truly epic hospitality. 10/10 experience--can't wait to come back!

I was cruising around looking for a place for lunch and Indian popped up. It is new to me, this Indian place. It has a large oddly configured dinning room. An QR code brought up the menu, so I ordered my garlic naan, butter chicken with rice and mango lassi. Little that I knew, that was for to order and I should have reviewed the online menu but provide my order to service person. They were able to transit it to dine order. The lassi and naan came out quickly. When the butter chicken was delivered, it was inviting to dip the naan into it. That was very satisfying. The chicken in sauce and rice made everything good. Whereas the a little heat from the sauce was making me sweet, the lassi cool me down but wish it was sweeter. All together I finished everything. It was a nice experience.

Tabla replaced old amaravati restaurant. Ordered non veg thali and egg noodles. Both tastes great and the staff were friendly. They are still making few renovations but overall a good place

We have been to Tabla quite a few times and used to enjoy their weekend thali (great value for money). This time, we went for Sunday dinner and were surprised to see how busy it was! We tried their papad appetizer, bread basket (which had 12 pieces), butter chicken, banjara chicken, and Andhra chicken curry. The papad appetizer could have had more sides--it only came with one. The banjara chicken and the breads were really good and fresh. Overall, it's a great place for delicious Indian food with good service!

Great food, for the kebab lovers…read more I like the combo shish plate. Their meats are so good. It's nicely charred and still tender. The beef and chicken were both excellent. Great flavors. I enjoyed both. With it comes a lot of things- the pita was soft and fluffy. It paired nicely with the creamy and garlicy hummus. So smooth. Like butter. The salad had a nice burst of acidity to it and was very refreshing to eat. Good seasoning/dressing. There was also a yogurt sauce on the side which was delicious. Tangy. The rice was fluffy and soft. It was so much food! Great deal imo.

I've been meaning to try the one in Pleasanton forever ago, but I stumbled onto this newer location…read morein Livermore so here we are. Looks like it took over the old Harry's Hofbrau space except they turned that massive space into 2 units now, as the days of massive dining halls are starting to become a rarity. Order at a counter and food gets brought to your table. There's a full bar (which I thought was strange for this type of food) but this is also Livermore where it still tends to have a stronger drinking culture than most other suburban towns. Most of the seating is in their 'outdoor' patio which is pretty well enclosed with one of those catering tents. Babaghanoush ($8/2.5*) Looked great with warm pita and an olive oil drizzle on top. Texture was spot on creamy and soft but they overloaded this usually delicate dip/mezze with enough raw garlic to kill a horse. Now I usually love garlic but this was to the point where you couldn't taste anything else so main ingredient which is roasted eggplant, you couldn't even tell what it was. And your mouth was tingling with that harsh garlic taste for minutes after chewing it down. Instead of wasting it, I packed it home and used it like Toum to spread onto other things. I've actually had Toums less potent than this. Adana Kabob ($19/4.5*) This a ground lamb kabob Turkish style. Similar to a Lule, Koobideh, Shami kabobs from other cultures. Turkish has pretty bold spicing but not as strong as Afghan or Pakistani. And definitely more assertive than Persian or Armenian. So kind of in the middle of the spectrum. I loved the texture and the flavor, just maybe a tad ambitious on the charring. Now that char did add an awesome grill flavor but a couple degrees more than burnt qualities may then be perceived. Combo Beef/Lamb Kabob $20/4*) For combos you can actually pick from several kabobs. They use smaller chunks like half inch cubes small. It is very natural tasting, no heavy marinades or spicing. Tasted like just salt to me so you can really taste the protein. But very well done but not really dry. I just prefer larger chunks like at least 1 inch cubes, so the meat stays juicy and succulent. Afghan and Persian kabobs usually have bigger pieces on those skewers. And these plates have a side of salted plain rice (not basmati) a green salad, some pita and a nice dollop of hummus which was top notch. Decent food, efficient service is going to make them a solid option for me in this town. Iskender, lamb shanks still in the zone for me to try.

Flavor was all over the place -- a couple pieces had no salt at all, while others were way too salty. And the spicyness wasnt(aka chilli flakes) in the potato mixture wasnt spread well either. I got the triple kabob plate and the rice portion was surprisingly small compared to other Afghan spots. Chicken kabobs were inconsistent: some pieces were super salty, others were fine. The beef was tender, but not every bite had the same flavor. Chicken was tender though, cut well. Could have been flavored a bit more Plates overall felt smaller than what I'm used to at similar restaurants. Also worth mentioning -- they serve alcohol here, so if you're strict about halal, that might be a consideration. Since a place selling wine- not sure how strict they are on sourcing halal meat (hand slaughter for example). Also very pricey location compared to others maybe since they serve wine they catering to folks that drink who may spend more without caring All in all, not terrible, but definitely inconsistent and portion sizes could be better. Worth mentioning that all these de afghanans are not same - they have diff owners etc. Not bad seating, was empty for a sunday lunch at noon .
