Chat Bhavan has been one of my favorite restaurants in Dublin for the past seven years, and the quality has remained consistently exceptional. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and very well prepared, and the service is equally impressive. What stands out the most for me is their lunch menu. It is very reasonably priced, the portions are generous, and the overall value is excellent. Maintaining the same high standards of food quality, service, and consistency for so many years is not easy, but Chat Bhavan continues to do it exceptionally well. After seven years of visiting, I can confidently say their standards have always been up to the mark. This place is amazing! Probably one of the best, if not the best, pure vegetarian places around. Everything I've tried here has been really good. Some dishes are nice and spicy, others have a little sweet and salty flavor, and a lot of the food is just really flavorful and savory. Whenever I'm in a vegetarian mood, I love stopping by Chaat Bhavan or picking up food to go. One thing I really like is that after eating here, I feel satisfied but not heavy or overly full. What I like about this place is that on the menu, it has different icons for people who are vegan, vegetarian, spiciness and those who can't have garlic and onions. Although I personally don't have a restrictive diet, some of the people in my group did and I appreciate those little details. Since my aunt and cousin had been there before, they helped order our food. Everything they had ordered was flavorful, delicious and healthy. I went to this place again after recommendation from someone that it's very good now and insisted on trying July menu. But, unfortunately the food was pathetic than previous time. From the July special I ordered Lotus root chaat which was peanut masala with onion and tomato with literally three soggy lotus chips on top for decoration. Then coming to Delhi style matar kulcha, worst ever matar with no salt even forgot the spices, just some green onions on top. And another torture was besan moringa paratha which was thin chewy besan crepe with moringa to be found by lens. Just had butter over it. Waste of money totally. Service, no one was interested even to visit us for order that also during lunch times. Ambience is as it is usual. Totally off my list. Wish could give zero stars read more

I had lunch at the restaurant this afternoon, and unfortunately, this was a very unpleasant experience. I have always enjoyed coming here whenever I'm in Livermore, so I was especially disappointed with the service this time. I ordered the Veg Manchurian, naan, a paneer dish, and dal makhani. The Veg Manchurian arrived on time, but unfortunately, it was cold. After that, we waited approximately 45 minutes for the main course to arrive. I also ordered additional naan, but it never came to our table. After asking about it, we were told that the naan had already been prepared but was accidentally given to another table. It then took another 30 minutes for us to receive our two orders of naan. By the time they arrived, the rest of our food was already cold, so there was really no point in waiting any longer and we ended up packing our food to take home. At the end, I also ordered bhel, which took another 30 minutes to arrive, even though it was just an appetizer. What was most frustrating was seeing customers who arrived after us receive their meals and finish eating while we were still waiting for ours. I completely understand that restaurants can get busy, but the delays, cold food, and mix-up with our order made this visit extremely disappointing. I've visited this restaurant many times in the past and have always had a good experience, which is why this particular visit was so frustrating. I hope the management can look into what happened and improve the service so that other customers don't have the same experience. read more

I wish I could give 6 stars. Food is consistently delicious. Our kids love malai paneer here. My wife enjoys the Thali. I love the chat - pani puri and dahi papadi chat. Today especially, the service was top-notch. One of the guys working here was extremely frendly and went above and beyond to make us and the kids feel welcomed. This shining star is Yuvraj Singh. My beloved and I went here recently after going to the Shiva Vishnu Temple in nearby Livermore that is excellent reminding me of my over three years in India. Chaat Bhavan is pure veg. All vegetarian restaurant with no eggs. Only dairy. Jain options. Chef Paul Singh dishes up goodness here. Plenty of clearly marked vegan options on the menu. We ordered family style. We split the Aloo Baigan- eggplant + potatoes. Chana Masala- Chickpea Curry. Both were great. Five stars. We had it with cumin rice. No cumin. Only rice. That was 4 stars. Some tandoor whole wheat roti. Didn't seem as fresh from the oven so just 4 stars. Friendly service. Nice atmosphere. All in all four stars. Solid spot for vegetarian food and excellent service! Our waiter routinely checked up on us to see if things were going well and we were delighted! I got the Bombay Pav Bhaji and it was near immaculate. The buns that it was served with were light, fluffy, and super buttery. The masala when mixed with the veggies made me want to add a side of rice just to eat it all. It was rich and loaded with various different spices. Absolutely no miss of flavors at all. Had a great experience at Chaat Bhavan. Yuvi stood out for being especially kind and thoughtful with my daughter. He encouraged her to eat, celebrated when she finished, and even brought out a small surprise for her. He also included her teddy bear in the interaction, which she loved. Had a birthday dinner for my son. Yuvi who attended us entertained the boys and was very attentive. The food was ok, our usual aloo paratha and gobi Manchurian dry were spot on. Garlic Naans were meh, paneer tikka masala was a little runny and underspiced. Kashmiri dum aloo was bad, not doing that again. Overall decent but our expectations were higher. Our server, Arsh, who also took our order, was kind and professional throughout. We ordered the saag and makki roti -- both were delicious! We used to be regulars at Chat Bhavan in Fremont, but hadn't visited in the past couple of years in Pleasanton. We finally decided to stop by again and this time we ordered chole batura, garlic naan, and kofta curry. The chole batura was fresh and delicious. Although we had asked for a spicy kofta curry, it initially came mildly spiced. Upon request, they kindly prepared a fresh, spicier version. Garlic nan was hot, soft and fluffy. The restaurant was spacious with a pleasant ambiance. Despite the bustling crowd, the service was quick and attentive. Imo, the quantity of curries can be improved for the price. Came here during lunchtime today and, unfortunately, it turned into a bit of a comedy show (not the good kind). I ordered their monthly special -- the Thecha Paneer Vada Pav -- mainly because, you know... paneer. What I got instead was a philosophical interpretation of paneer. After a few confused bites and a mild treasure hunt inside the bread, I asked the server where the paneer was hiding. Turns out, it had transcended physical form and was now "a spread"... lol. So essentially, I paid about $12 for bread with a hint of paneer's distant memory. If you're into abstract cuisine where ingredients exist more in spirit than reality, this might be your spot. Otherwise, maybe keep expectations (and cravings for actual paneer) in check. read more

We got catering and the food was really delicious. The garlic naan was a big portion and it was devoured and sopped up all the sauce from the paneer tikki masala and Chana masala. Both of these were extremely flavorful. I used up so many naan for my dishes. The samosa is also well balanced with the mint chutney. Also, nothing leaked from traveling with our food. Check-in with Yelp and you get a free masala tea, so tasty with milk and sugar. The male staff that helped us was so friendly and kind. The interior is spacey and clean. read more

Chaat Bhavan is an Indian-inspired, pure vegetarian restaurant offering an extensive menu of chaats, entrees, and breads. We started with the Chaat Samosa, made of a crispy broken samosa with a spiced potato and pea filling, topped with chana masala (curried chickpeas) and chutneys. This was an excellent combination of flavors and textures, but would've been even better with some tangy yogurt and crunchy sev on top. The Bhel Thali was a nice sampler of many different dishes including paneer bhurji, a black chickpea soup, yellow lentil soup, kadhi (a sour yogurt-based curry), raita, rice, rotis, papad, kheer, and semolina halwa, served with a drink of chaas (spiced buttermilk). But my favorite component of the thali was the bhel, a side of puffed rice tossed in a savory, tangy dressing and mixed with pomegranate seeds, black chickpeas, chopped tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and spices. According to the menu, the restaurant's signature dish was Malai Paneer, made of homemade cottage cheese cubes in a creamy tomato sauce, which was more liquidy than I expected. The Aloo Gobi was an oily mixture of cauliflower and potatoes cooked with onions and spices, but my favorite entree was Makki di Roti & Saag, two thick corn flour flatbreads served with spiced, puréed spinach and mustard greens--an earthy and flavorful Punjabi winter dish! Overall, the flavors of the food were all on point, and the service was super friendly and attentive for a relatively casual place.
