Intrigued by the long waiting list while dining at Anjappar next doors, we found ourselves at KP this weekend. I'd say this is the only vegetarian restaurant that I'm excited to eat at considering my preference towards meat options when dining. KP has an amazing feel to it, and the food meets the expectations. It's a Mumbai chain and the food is authentically delicious. Excitement induced by the thought of finally eating at Kailash Parbat fell a bit short of the promise. While the service was great, above average for a restaurant of its ilk, and the ambiance was also a bit above average, the food itself was a combination of hits and misses. Pani Puri (3.5/5) - when I think Kailash Parbat, I think Pani Puri, and for me this fell a bit short for a signature dish. Note it was still one of the better dishes but it lacked the oomph. Mixed Platter (2.5/5) - this totally missed the mark for me on several fronts. First off, it was too spicy. Secondly at some point the bhel, the sev puri and corn basket tasted not very different from each other. Can't speak for the dahi puri as I couldn't have that due to being vegan. Vada Paav (3/5) again waaayy spicy such that the spice overpowered the garlic and all other flavors We ordered a bunch of curries that scored a 3.5 but overall I came to the conclusion I didn't miss much by waiting to visiting this place till I was in the neighborhood read more

I've been meaning to try some authentic Punjabi Cuisine and I just happened to be in the Dublin area so I decided to give this place a try. The reviews were good and this restaurant actually started in India back in the 1950's so I was sold. I was seated the second I walked in the door. It's larger than it looks from the outside with a high ceiling and decorated with the history of the restaurant. The choices were plentiful and the menu was a novel. All four dishes I tried were indeed on another level in every aspect of cuisine. Even the Mango Lassi was on another level. I've been to this restaurant twice now. The first time was a great experience customer service wise, and the chaat and falooda were really good. We also tried the chole bhature, which was just okay, so I figured this would be more of a chaat and falooda spot for me. I went back recently and unfortunately had a completely different experience. The restaurant was only about half full and there were 4 to 5 workers standing around, yet no one greeted us when we walked in. No welcome, no "we'll be right with you," nothing. We stood there for over 5 minutes before someone finally came to seat us. After that, the customer service continued to disappoint. We constantly had to look around and flag someone down just to place our order, ask questions, or order additional items. The service inconsistency really stood out to me and made a big impact on the overall experience. The two lady servers seemed very untrained and unsure of how to properly serve customers. The food itself was still good. We ordered the chaat platter, but one complaint was that they added way too much of the puffed rice chaat, which was dry. If you're in the area, it may still be worth trying, just know the service can be very hit or miss. read more

Kailash Parbat is the new restaurant from a famous chain back in Bombay, India and has opened in Dublin. 1. The Ambience is well designed. If you are born and brought in Bombay or love Mumbai (Bombay), you will like all the paintings and the nostalgic phones that are hung. 2. The Dabbawala paintings and Kaali - Pili Taxi are my favorite thing to observe. 3. Ordered a Paneer Lababdaar and with Garlic Naan. It was decent and creamy with more cheese on the top. 4. Asked for slice onions and Lemon and they gave diced onions. The staff is very very kind and prompt. There were like two college going girls and a manager and all were very respectful and prompt. 5. Naan are not super with Maida and seemed light. Portions are smaller overall but still very tasty food. 6. Garlic Naan was a 5 but Paneer Lababdaar was a 3 rating. We asked for spicy but they got it mild only. Maybe cook cant make lababdaar spicy. 7. The place has the best Malai Kulfi I have tasted in Bay Area. Out of this world, 10 out of 5 but it is sweet so watch that sugar and order 1 for entire table. 8. Dont bother to give Tips in Indian Restaurants. We originally went on grand opening week but it was so crazy busy! So now that things have slowed down, we decided to give it a try! Service was prompt and friendly. Modern venue. Overall, dishes had great presentation and taste was great and well balanced! The appetizer was delicious. The sandwich was good. The masala was delicious, and the sauce was well made, not too spicy! We had Pav bhaji - well done and spiced and just like you would find it in Mumbai. Pav was not sweet which is a big plus in US. All breads tend to be sweetish in taste but not here. Paani puri was well presented. Comes with a side of sweet chutney and minty spicy green paani (mint flavored spicy watery sauce). You can mix and match according to your taste, easily customisable. Again taste matches mumbai paani puri taste. Dabeli was good but too sweet in my opinion and lacked on tangy, spicy taste profile. This is a great spot for North Indian street food lovers! The restaurant has a lively and vibrant vibe, with walls covered in fun Bollywood-themed collages that really set the mood. What stood out most to us was the exceptional cleanliness and the freshness of the food -- truly impressive. Funny enough, I first tried their food as leftovers and was so impressed that I had to visit the place with my mom. The waitlist is managed through Toast, and it moved pretty quickly for us. We ordered the Papri Chaat, Mumbai Sandwich, Hakka Noodles, and the Spicy Guava drink -- every dish was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. The restaurant doesn't have a place to wait for a table - it is either out in the parking lot or at the front of someone who is eating. After about an hour of waiting my party of 5 people got a place to sit. The seating area is small and for large parties (6 or more people) the restaurant doesn't have good seating arrangements. This is the most authentic sev poori I have had in the US that comes close to the taste I remember from Bombay. Vada Pav is another Bombay fav. Dahi chaat is another good option here.
