NGL. This place was good. DD had this BM'd and felt like chicken tenders. The place had so many take out orders during the time we arrived and ate. The staff were friendly and helpful. I saw the seasoned ruffled fries and had to have it with a slider #4 meal. The sando was like a soft brioche roll with coleslaw and sliced crunchy pickled. Fries were well seasoned a crispy. You literally get a chicken tender strip inside your slider. I got Non Spicy which meant the breading wasn't seasoned. Added some Dave's sauce and drizzled some honey. It was yummy. Had a fantastic meal here! The store itself is very clean and well lit, and you can order via a touchscreen kiosk or at the counter. On to the food! I've only had Dave's one other time, at a different location (North Bay), so I had a level of expectation. That location was great, but this one was even better! This place did get busy, but there is both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was friendly and quick with ordering. They give you a buzzer that lets you know when your food is ready for pickup at the counter. Food: I ordered the mini sliders with fries and the strawberry lemonade slushie. After all the hype i heard, I personally felt it was just too much dry seasoning on this chicken. Beware: the serving portions are pretty large if you order one of the main menu items, so i would recommend sharing. Many in my group could not finish all their food and even agreed they should have just shared. There's different spice flavors to the chicken. I ordered medium for my mini slides and felt it wasn't even that spicy for my taste buds. If you don't want to eat a ton of food or take a to-go box, I'd say the 4 Mini-sliders with fries is the perfect amount of food for one person, but don't expect large pieces of chicken in the sliders. All in all, this is a convenient lunch spot to stop into. Do I need to go out of my way to eat it? Probably not. The first issue happened when my daughter asked for an extra sauce and was met with unnecessary attitude. I wasn't there at the time, but when I showed up shortly after and heard what happened, I wasn't happy. Fast forward about three weeks, and I ran into the same assistant manager again. Today, I asked her if she was the same person who had that issue with my daughter, and she said clearly -- "Yes, I am," like she remembered it perfectly. Whether there's a new policy or if certain "rules" are only enforced with certain customers, I don't know -- but the energy from her feels off. It's enough to make me reconsider how often I come here, especially when it's clear not all guests are treated the same. I hope this gets addressed, because the food is great and the store manager deserves better support around her. This was my first time trying Dave's Hot Chicken and it did not disappoint. A couple months prior to this I tried another chicken spot that everyone was raving about their sauce and bread roll. If you know, you know. I left there disappointed because everything was just average. So stepping in here my expectations was not super high. My first impression is thank god I don't have to wait 45 minutes to an hour for some fried chicken. The restaurant had 2 easy self order kiosk and the employees are there to take your order as well. That's the easy part. I recommend getting the slider and tender combo if you're indecisive about what to get. The wait time for our order wasn't too bad either. Perhaps around 10 minutes. I must say out of all the fast food chicken spots I've been to, this one's got the best seasoning. The medium spice level for both the tender and slider was not that hot. But the seasoning on the chicken was perfect even without the sauce. It's got a nice sweetness, tang and tinnie tiny kick at the end. It taste even better with the sauce and even the honey. Came on Drake's birthday where you get a free chicken slider. I love free food but it's not a quick service. It is pretty chaotic on this day. I arrived a little before 12pm, the line was out the door. It was very crowded and busy. I think I waited a total of 40 minutes (20 minutes in line and 20 minutes for food to be ready). I recalled coming here in the past when it was NOT Drake's birthday. The chicken slider is not an actual slider but more like a sandwich. I think the chicken slider is pretty good. It has different spice level for the sauce to choose from. Overall, I do think the chicken sliders aren't too bad, the price is reasonable too. I can't recall what my opinions were in the past of the fries but when I return, I will report back. I have ate at this location in the past and found it to be your typical casual-fast dining style place. I did not eat here on Drake's building, it was just so busy inside. However, the wait in line was brief and my food came out within 10 minutes of waiting! I ordered a strawberry vanilla shake and a #4. I was not disappointed whatsoever. I got the #4 medium heat , add cheese, sub with Mac, and man, solid chicken sandwich. The daves sauce with it tasted fire and if you add honey to it, it's a freaking game changer. The sandwich can get a little messy so have extra napkins. I should have gotten hot heat instead of medium but medium has a nice kick to it. The Mac was hella fire too. Well the name is certainly appropriate. My lips are still burning while writing this review! This review is for those of us who can't take any real heat... I ordered the MILD flavor because I was worried no spice would be bland (it's my first visit!) and I'd say it was definitely hotter than I expected (but hey Dave didn't call this place hot chicken for no reason!). I got the 2 piece tenders, it came with 2 GIANT tenders, some pickles, 2 slices of bread and a side of crinkle cut fries. Love the crinkle cut fries, can't wait to try more of the sides, like the mac and kale slaw next time. I prefer Popeyes' tenders more myself because of the crispy breading but they are tiny in comparison to the tenders I got here - great value. It comes Dave's sauce which was like tangy sweet creamy sauce, which helped with the spice. Restaurant is brightly lit and plenty of indoor/outdoor seating options. Decor is funky fun. Whenever I crave spicy fried chicken, Dave's is usually a top contender. Often times, places that offer spicy chicken sandwiches never make them hot enough, but Dave's hot chicken has spice levels that bring me joy. The chicken sandwiches are always flavorful and always bring the heat. The chicken in the chicken sandwiches are always fried to perfection, have a nice red color to it, and large enough to stick out of the bun. On top of the great sandwiches, customer service at this particular location is very good. My only complain is that I get the 'no spice' option for my son and it's always flavorless and just tastes like fryer oil. Overall though, it's a great choice for hot chicken. The price in a previous review that showed the signage for their meals stated, the 2 sliders with fries was $14.49, upon arrival the updated price currently is $15.49. A bit much and no drink included and small to medium basket of fries. The meal is perfect for two. The slider has sauce, pickles, and a tiny bit of cole slaw (advertised is kale slaw). I didn't notice that it was kale slaw. The chicken was slightly moist, crispy, and there were packets of Dave's medium sauce and honey. I blended the two together to add to my sandwich and it was good, but not crazy good where I would be coming back for more. The sandwich could have been more flavorful, for my taste buds.
