Tried this boba spot yesterday and I have mixed feelings. The drinks themselves were really good. The cups are nice! I got the summer pink drink. The watermelon flavor was refreshing but my drink had blended watermelon seeds in it. I personally can not handle drinking seeds so that took away from the experience. The customer service also needs some improvement. We walked right up but there was no acknowledgement or a "be right with you". There was no other customers before us. When we finally got to order the drinks took quite some time to receive. The lack of customer service and seeds in my drink was disappointing. I would come back to try something else on the menu and I hope they improve on their customer service. read more

"Another Day, Another Cha Tea" I've been to Cha Tea many times now, and I still pass by and think about stopping in for another round. This place has become one of my go-to spots, and honestly, it never disappoints. The vibe in here is really sweet and welcoming, one of those boba shops that just feels good to hang out in. Not trying too hard, but definitely put together in a way that makes you want to stay a bit longer than just grabbing your drink and leaving. I went with the brown sugar creme brulee milk tea with double boba and wow--this drink was actually delicious. The brown sugar flavor came through without being overwhelming, and that creme brulee twist gave it this almost caramelized richness that made the whole thing feel a little fancy. The boba was perfectly chewy, and getting double was absolutely the right call. My hubby got the Oreo creme brulee with boba which was also really good, leaning into that cookies and cream situation with the same smooth, decadent quality. I know my boba teas well and this place just didn't do it for me. I ordered a Hokkaido milk tea with boba and it essentially was watered down and boba was so-so and my drink was about $7. My mom tried it too and agreed. She kept trying to get me to go inside to return it but I just didn't want to bother. My mom got the plain fresh sugarcane drink and that was close to $9! She said it was good but not worth that much. I had a try also, it was tasty but I can't justify paying close to $9 for it. I think for the price point and what you get, not that great value or taste wise. Also, the outdoor tables were in bad shape and super wobbly and could not place anything on them and they were filthy. Doubt I'll come back here again, unless something changes. read more

I've been going to Cha Tea for years, but finally getting around to reviewing it since it still seems to be so underrated! Conveniently located in the H-Mart lot, this shop offers perfectly chewy boba every time. It's nothing fancy, but the drinks are so reliable -- never too milky or too sweet. And the menu is pretty huge. I've even been able to order a coffee milk tea (not on their current menu) since they have the ingredients for it. My latest obsession has been the sea salt Vietnamese coffee. Nice and strong, with a very light saltiness balance the sweetness. The snacks menu is ever-evolving, so there are often nice surprises when returning. They've recently updated the space with comfy chairs and new tables, too. Stopped by Cha Tea while running errands in the area. Though I love bubble tea, especially milk teas, I was in the mood for something else. Something light and refreshing. The staff was pleasant and patient as I asked lots of questions. I was intrigued by their sugarcane drinks, and decided to go with the durian sugarcane since I love durian. It was ready within minutes and exactly what I was looking for. It was fresh, sweet, and had great durian flavor. As much as I wanted to devour the drink, my son also likes durian and I knew he would enjoy it so I saved about half for him. He loved it. This is my favorite boba spot in the valley for a fruity tea. On a day where I really crave it, I'll drive from midtown Phoenix to here just for the passionfruit green tea. That drink is my Roman Empire. The actual passionfruit, the perfect balance of sweet and sour and a tinge of herbal from the tea... I would cross the rubicon for it any day. The Brown Sugar Teas are always big sellers. The Thai Royal Tea is one of my favorites and is loaded with all sorts of little chunks of fruit. Parking is plentiful, I had no trouble finding a spot near the storefront in the evening. They have a handful of tables inside and out. Besides tea, you can also order shaved snow, bubble waffles, ice cream, and cheese coin cakes. There's also a small business that operates inside called Lina's Macarons. The Thai Tea had an unpleasant grainy texture, and the sugar pretty much masked any tea flavor it might've had. Just a very one dimensional drink. The ice level was adequate. On the other hand, the raspberry lychee macaron from Lina's was enjoyable. The crisp outer shells paired well with the inner filling. Don't think i've ever left a review. However this calls for one. Went yesterday and ordered sugar cane juice. All the cashier did was take our order so we didn't leave a tip, which is pretty normal (i'm from food service too so what service did the cashier provide to receive a tip?? lol) Anyway after putting the no tip option, the cashier made a dirty look toward us that my fiancée caught. Fiancée joked that they may have spit in our drinks cause we didn't tip, but jokes aside we actually saw some residue that looked like saliva in the drink. Not even 24 hours later we are just sick.
