    11. Taro Rolls
    Joe L.

Very nice spot for tea and ice cream, but you definitely have to try the ice cream. It's the rolled ice cream and entertaining to watch them make it. We tried the taro and chocolate. Both were very good. The staff is very friendly and have lots of patience as you try to decide a flavor!

I can't buy happiness, but I absolutely can buy Milk Tea. Great thing there is the latter. From my list of bookmarked milk tea and boba shops in the valley, I finally checked out Tea Avenue, a cute and vibey milk tea spot at Mekong Plaza. This time, instead of my usual go-to flavor, Matcha, I decided to try their newest addition: the Red Bean Milk Tea. I have always enjoyed red beans in refreshing beverages. I enjoyed the creamy milk tea combined with the subtle sweetness of the red beans. Tea Avenue offers a variety of equally flavorful milk tea options. I will definitely try other menu options on my next visit. The prices are budget-friendly without compromising its taste. As a Yelper, I keenly observed not only to the taste but also to the service. Being a first-time customer, I like the friendly and welcoming service. Also, I appreciated the server's effort to ensure my cup was sealed properly to prevent any spills. Tea Avenue shares its space with an ice cream shop. Well, if you are not into drinking teas, you can opt to scooping some ice creams.

Usually this place is mobbed with people. Only two customers today and I was able to make my order immediately. I studied the menu and ordered the Sapphire Blue Raspberry Gemstone soda. It comes with 80% sugar. Staff asked if that was ok. I asked for less and he dropped it to 50%. It is a fizzy drink. It was perfect. It quenched my thirst; not too sweet. There are different sizes as well. I had a nice sit down in the empty store. Shared parking lot with WiFi.

I ordered a a honey milk tea with brown sugar gelatin boba-like things. (I don't remember the exact name of them). I typically prefer tapioca boba, which is what I was hoping to order, but they were out. I did not care for them, the texture was very strange and not similar to tapioca boba. The service was good - it was easy to order. My cup had a hole in it but thankfully I noticed before I left, and the guy working put it in a new cup. The vibe of the shop is cool, it's inside the Asian market in Mesa so it was fun to order then walk around the little mall. There weren't many people, so we got our order pretty quickly.

I love the Thai mango smoothie drink. I have never had anything like this anywhere. It's basically a mango smoothie with coconut milk and tapioca. It's amazing, rich, and delicious! Get this and you will not be disappointed!

I really ought to get a badge made that says, "Boba AuthoriTEA." Get it? Get it!?! Tea Avenue is inside of Roll Avenue. Having just had dinner at Mekong Palace, we were going to stop off at our usual boba place next door when half the group decided that they wanted ice cream. Not being a stick-in-the-mud, we decided to stay with the group and was pleasantly surprised to find that they turned one of their counters to a boba counter. Aw yis! A Ruby Red Strawberry and Strawberry Roselle Tea were ordered. We got our drinks at 30% sweetness and it was suuuuper sweet. I felt like I gained three cavities on that first sip alone. I can't imagine what 100% sweetness would be like! The Ruby Red Strawberry was okay but the Strawberry Roselle Tea was pretty good. They just need to work on their sugar levels. Not bad, Tea Avenue. I see you.

Just another boba shop The tea was very expensive. I got pea tea with lemon for $4.95. That didn't include any toppings. I usually make pea tea at home and was wonder if it'd taste different from another shop. The lemon taste in their drink overshadows any pea flower flavor (which is light). But what I was annoyed is the cost. I would expect something like this to cost $3 or less because of how effortless and cheap the making and supplies are. In fact, it took them a while to make this tea

Good boba place! At first, I was having hard time finding this place since there's no sign, but actually Tea Avenue is Ice cream Avenue. So, if you are not sure where this place is at, Ice cream Avenue is actually Tea Avenue! (Next to Tasty Pot) I tried Lychee Mango and House milk tea here, they are pretty good. Also you get to choose your own sweet level and ice level for your drink! They even have HK egg puff, but hmm... that was just ok to me. But drink is good :)

I saw this place as I was walking in Mekong Plaza and I thought I'd go give it a shot. I love the orange drink at Dayung so I thought I'd give their Ragin' Orange drink a try. I was a bit disappointed because I got 100% sweetness but the drink tasted like it was watered down. Their employees are all friendly though, and the place is pretty cute. I'd go back and try other drinks next time, and hopefully update my review depending on how my next drink is..

I don't think a visit to Mesa is complete unless you get some tea. I might be one of the few who doesn't like the tapioca on boba tea so I go for very traditional flavors. I got the strawberry and it was just right. This place was pretty busy and it's one of the reasons I decided to try it. It ended up being an excellent choice. They also have waffle ice creams and other interesting sweets that I would love to order next time I visit Mesa.

They are reasonably priced although I felt like the price difference for the matcha Thai vs Thai milk tea wasn't worth it. We showed up late and the person who served us was very kind, patient, and welcoming despite it being close to closing. We were apologetic and grateful. (Thank you to her!). Otherwise, beware of limited parking like everywhere else in Mesa. This location also has an added bonus in that it's open later than a lot of other boba places so you can still fit in that boba run after dinner! The interior was not very clean- the inside is white with beautiful furniture, but most of it was sticky or messy, and the floor had smudge marks. There were straw wrappers from previous customers also strewn about on a few tables. The employees, too, were curt, unprofessional (half were sitting at a table on their phones, and half were roughhousing behind the counter, one employee even slapped the other? NOT a good look.) and did not greet us when we came in. We tried to order about 3 different drinks, but they were out of half of the toppings on the menu. The female employee who took our order looked annoyed that we dared try to order drinks that were on the menu- it was unsettling and not a great customer service experience. Finally, we got our drinks, and they were pretty much all ice in a fancy cup. The tea portion that we did receive was fine, but almost 20 dollars for bad service, and mostly ice is unacceptable. The flavors were nothing to write home about- and the dragon tea refresher my boyfriend got was not particularly unique. I've heard and seen good things about Xing Fu Tang locations in other states, but if they want to survive in Mesa, AZ, they may want to start actually carrying the ingredients advertised on the menu, as well as training their employees on professionalism. Jeez.

The Fresh Taro Milk is made with real taro, and you can actually taste the difference. It has that fresh, earthy flavor instead of the artificial powder taste a lot of places use. The texture was everything, and the drink size felt just right. Not too much, not too little. The Brown Sugar Earl Grey Milk was creamy, smooth, and perfectly balanced. You still get that floral Earl Grey flavor while the brown sugar adds just enough sweetness. The boba in both drinks was soft, fresh, and had the perfect chewy texture. The shop itself is adorable. I loved all of the capybara-themed artwork, and they also have pieces from local artists available to purchase, which makes the space feel really unique. My favorite part was the sticky note art wall where everyone leaves little doodles and messages. It's such a fun way to bring the community together and adds so much personality. It had the perfect amount of people when I visited. Busy enough that you know it's a good spot, but still relaxed enough to hang out and enjoy your drink. Well, it's not there so I'll just have to give them 5 stars again :) This is my favorite tea cafe in the valley. The vibe is very much Lofi Girl, iykyk. Super chill and a bright, open space to enjoy some delicious drinks. The staff here are friendly and welcoming. When I come here I usually get iced fruit tea, milk tea, or matcha. They have unique and well flavored drinks. On my most recent trip I ordered from the current seasonal menu. They also have fruit teas, hojicha tea, and espresso drinks. It can be helpful to check their website and see the pictures and descriptions if you're trying to decide what to choose. I had the iced jasmine matcha with oat milk and Mont Blanc foam. This is the best flavored matcha drink I've had compared to matcha drinks I've had in Japan. I watched her hand whisk the ceremonial grade powder, making it well blended and smooth. The delicate jasmine sweetness and the very citrus forward Mont Blanc foam really paired well together. The jasmine version doesn't come with that foam so I paid extra to add it, but well worth it. So delicious! In the past I used to get the earl grey milk tea and strawberry lemon green tea. I'll definitely be back, continuing to try out other drinks. I've liked everything so far from Crafti, and that's saying a lot because many boba or tea places are just too syrupy sweet for me, here it's nice flavors and sweetness.
