Cha Cheng literally means tea city in Chinese and the tea flavoured gelatos here are fragrant and unique. We sampled a few flavours - - Olong tea which was the lightest but very refreshing and you can certainly taste the Olong tea without the sweetness - Hojicha everything has been my obsession lately and the gelato has a strong earthy tone but the taste was rather flat for me - Jasmine green tea was probably their best selling flavour and I can see why. It's the most flavourful flavour out of the 3 that I sampled and you can taste the jasmine tea with a hint of green tea I chose the Olong tea for a lighter refreshing taste while my friend chose the jasmine green tea. The staff was super friendly and patient with us as we struggled to pick a flavour. I liked the extra touch with the charcoal waffle that was thin and crunchy. There's also a Kaya toast and Viet coffee combo for $9.99 that my friend tried. It's perfect for a snack and the coffee was delicious. There are about 5 round tables for seating that's shared with Rolltation. Note that it can get oily in the space as we went around dinner time so Rolltation was cooking up a storm in the shared space. I would definitely go back to try more gelato flavours and their drinks next time!

A nice little stop for gelato and drinks! The flavors were varied, a good amount to choose from without being overwhelming. The gelato itself tasted bright and refreshing, but the drinks were loaded with ice so the flavor was a bit watered down. The interior is small-- tables fill up fast, so best to grab and go. Kind staff who let us take our time deciding!

Jasmine tea gelato & Thai tea gelato served on a charcoal bowl cup

Came here within their first few weeks of opening on a very hot day. I love tea and thought this was the perfect treat to try. They serve tea-based gelato and bubble tea. I tried the gelato and ordered the Thai tea and Jasmine tea. I liked that the jasmine wasn't too sweet. The Thai tea was actually a little too sweet for me, but knowing what goes in the drink usually to create its signature flavour, it makes sense. The texture was very creamy and satisfying. For me, it was one of the best unique ones I've had in Toronto so far, alongside 00 Gelato. I loved the charcoal bowl but thought it was kind of weird that the structure isn't actually thick/durable enough to hold the gelato and still needed a cup as a vessel. I felt the overall price is fair and worth it knowing that everything is house made which takes a lot of time and effort. The staff were really friendly and let me sample all the flavours. The space is shared with another food spot and rolltation. They have circle-table seating inside and a washroom (that wasn't really that clean but not sure who I'd blame for that). It's a very casual atmosphere with a food court/hall style. I ended up bringing friends here a week after my first visit! I highly recommend this spot to everyone.

This Asian tea flavour inspired ice cream place is located in Rolltation! There is a decent amount of seating available. I got the lychee and Thai milk tea which are their two most popular flavours. The flavours are so light and delicious. It is expensive for the amount but worth it if you like desserts that aren't too sweet.

This little gelato shop specializes in tea flavours and shares a location with Rolltation. We sampled a few flavours and decided to go with Jasmine green tea and hojicha. The jasmine green tea was really refreshing and both flavours were yummy. Not many places offer tea flavour gelato so this is a special shop. If it wasn't downtown I think I would be there all the time!

The best I've ever had!! Hands down. I was blown away at the quality of the tea infused gelato. It was soooo goood. Mindblowingly good. It's a good thing they are not close to me I would be there everyday. High quality ingredients. Welll made. Fresh tasting. Perfect treat all year round. I hope they do well and will expand. Sending good vibes!!

So the bear itself in the affogato was a solid icy chunk of milk (coz we chose the milk flavour) that just frozen. We added the affogato on top of it and while it looked aesthetic, the dessert didn't make sense at all. We were unable to break the frozen chunk or be able to mix it with the coffee and the coffee mixed with that frozen chunk submerged tasted really bad. Paying $16 for that wasn't worth it at all. The bingsu was good though. We got the mango bingsu bowl and it came loaded with mangoes and a marshmallow and an oreo cookie to make it look pretty! I don't think I'd come back to try anything else here. Was a little disappointed.

Delicious desserts, waffles ice cream, smoothies, and more. We ordered: Medium Mango Smoothie - $7.95 Simple Pleasures Waffle - $15.50 The waffle was light and fluffy and the toppings of fruit and chocolate were a great combination. I requested to be lighter on the chocolate but there was still a LOT of chocolate on our waffle. The mango smoothie was refreshing and sweet. I started going to Holy Choco when they first opened and their service was really good from some of the owner. Super attentive and caring staff. Unfortunately, it's since gone downhill since they've hired new staff and we had a number of small problems when visiting this time (dirty tables, dirty cutlery, requested if our food could be put in to go containers because they didn't want to do dishes, unfriendly, etc.) I hope they improve upon these staffing issues soon. Their seating area is good for friends and groups to loiter. Also, if you plan on bringing a laptop, they have MANY OUTLETS!!

For items: we chose strawberry, banana, halal marshmallow, waffle bites, brownie bites, and Oreo with a round of cappuccino's ($5.50 each). The interior is nicely decorated with a cute angel photo op in the back, and window bar seats and couches to choose from. Great spot for 2-4 people. The only criticism I could have was it took a while to get our order. So, it's not one of those places you can be dipping into expecting to be done in 20mins! We stayed for nearly 3 hours and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

We ordered the Bananarama and Coco Vanil. They are both awesome, although if I could only choose one, I'd go with Bananarama. It was amazing. I'll be coming back for more in the days to come. I got the Avalanche (Skor,Cheesecake, and Caramel) and I loved that they stretched the dough when we ordered and then start frying it right there. It really ensures that we get freshly fried Beaver Tails at the peak of their deliciousness. After I got mine slathered with the toppings I ordered, I dug in and as expected, it's really hot but SOOOOO good. It's like the concept of a donut only thinner and crispier, thus resulting in a much better texture and crunch throughout which I very much prefer over a donut actually. The cheesecake spread mingling with the sweet caramel, crunchy toffee bits, and crispy hot dough is just such a perfect combination. It's a bit of a mess to eat but sooooo worth it. It really is such a shame that there isn't an establishment like this in NYC because it could seriously do some REALLY good numbers over here I reckon. I HAVE to get this again when I come back up to Canada (unless ya'll want to build a place down across the border haha).

I stopped by Kream after seeing all the hype on Instagram about the famous Korean "Dubai…read morechocolate." When I saw the price was $9.90 per chocolate, I was honestly a little surprised, bc it's sold under 7 per chocolate in Korea. But they were running a promotion until the 15th -- 5 for $30 -- which made it much more reasonable. I've never had the original version sold in Korea, so I can't compare it directly, but from what I've seen and heard, it seems pretty similar to what's trending there. Korean reviews are overwhelmingly positive, and people say it tastes just like the viral version. The texture is definitely chewy, just like the name suggests, and it's very sweet. Personally, it was a bit too sweet for my taste, but that's just my preference. That being said, I gave some as gifts and they absolutely loved it. So if you enjoy rich, sweet desserts -- or you're looking for something trendy and fun to share -- this would be a great choice. The shop itself is small and cozy, but very welcoming. The staff were friendly and made the experience pleasant. Overall, even though it's not exactly my personal favorite flavor-wise, I can understand the hype. It's a fun treat to try at least once, especially if you've been curious about the viral Korean Dubai chocolate trend. I'd recommend stopping by and taking advantage of the promo while it lasts!
