Been wanting to try this place for a long time and finally got to it. There weren't many pastries left so I didn't try any. Barburu is located in the food court of the Yuan Ming supermarket (you can either access it from the door at the back or right from the supermarket). Wait time to get the order wasn't long at it. I got a mango matcha latte and it was everything I expected and more. The matcha was foamy and creamy, thicker than I expected. The drink wasn't too sweet and the mango added at the bottom was also good. I like that the ice used is not big chunks, but small pieces of ice. I really enjoyed the drink and would come back for some pastries and drinks. They've also got a loyalty program where you can get points with every order. read more

I came across Barburu when I was looking online to see what stores were in the food court in Yuan Ming. I dropped by on Saturday when I was in the area to try out a matcha drink. The shop was busy indicating it must be good. The line was long but it kept moving and drinks were made pretty fast for a busy shop. When I was next in line I was deciding between two matcha coconut drinks. I asked the cashier which one she recommended. She recommended the matcha cold foam coconut as it's refreshing. I didn't realize the drink is literally coconut water with matcha cold foam until I received my order. The drink was refreshing and good but it's quite pricey. It was $8.33 for a regular sized drink. I doubt I would come back unless I'm in the supermarket, which is never. The price tag is a bit high for me to justify trying something else. read more

I love this spot so much!! I come here pretty often and it's easily my favourite place for matcha. It's a lowkey spot, kind of tucked inside a food court, but don't let that draw you away The drinks here are actually so good and super high quality. Every time I go, it's busy but in a good way. People are always coming in and out grabbing drinks, so you know it's popular. The setup is pretty simple, not a full sit-down cafe vibe, but more of a grab and go kind of place. Still, it has its own charm and feels very clean and organized. Now for the drinks, I've tried a few but my go to is the strawberry matcha!! this time we also tried the banana matcha, which was delicious too. I don't love a strong banana flavour and this was such a little subtle flavour which I loved. The strawberry one is super refreshing with a nice balance, and the banana matcha is so creamy and different. Honestly, this spot has the best matcha I've had in the city. The flavour is so smooth and not overly sweet, and you can really taste the matcha itself. You can tell they actually care about how they make their drinks, everything tastes consistent and well done. They also have a bunch of other matcha-based drinks and pastries, which I definitely want to try more of. I've heard really good things about their croissants too. Service has always been good whenever I go. They're quick, efficient, and friendly, even when it's busy. You usually don't have to wait too long, which is nice. Overall, I'd 100% recommend this spot if you like matcha or want to try something new. Definitely one of my favourite spots in Mississauga. read more

Heard a lot of hype about this place for their matcha so had to try! They have a huge selection of very epic looking pastries and wide selection of matcha and coffees. Their matcha menu was very extensive and they had a few flavours I've never seen at other matcha places. I got the Matcha Earl Grey which grew on me. The earl grey flavour came across strongly initially but after mixing, the drink was more balanced. Not the strongest matcha flavour in this drink but tasty. Desserts were all very pretty and the 2 I got were delicious (pistachio raspberry and chestnut croissants). They definitely didn't skim out on the filling. Service was quick despite the long line. They had one person taking pastry orders, one cashing people out and 2-3 making drinks in the back. This place is located in a Chinese food court so no fancy seating or designated cafe space. Despite that, it's quite popular and you could see most people were here for the matcha. I get the hype. read more

Finally a good matcha place in Mississauga. Didn't have high hopes before because all the places in Toronto blew other options out of the water. Thankfully barburu opened. It was unexpected to see it in a grocery store i've frequented but a pleasant surprise. Quality and strong matcha at reasonable prices. I get the matcha latte at 50% sweet and it works well for me. The matcha mochi flan is absolutely delicious. Rich flavour and properly flakey with just the right amount of mochi in it. I usually order on fantuan so service is quick for the pick up. I originally thought it's located inside a supermarket, but actually it's located just outside the supermarket, in the food court area of the plaza. Upon arriving around 1PM, there were 3 people in front of me lining up to place their orders already. Line moved quickly, there was a variety of matcha flavoured drinks to choose from. Pastries looked good but I didn't get any to try myself. Got their strawberry matcha and I thought it was good and creamy! I prefer a stronger, richer matcha taste which this lacked a bit of. We were in this small food court grabbing some lunch when I noticed Barburu. I wasn't necessarily in the mood for a coffee but I figured I'd check out their offerings. I noticed something called a Dalgona Latte, and after a little googling, I learned that Dalgona is a Korean candy. How could I not try something that unique? I'm so glad I did because this is one delicious concoction. Dalgona turns out to be a honeycomb type candy and it's really good. There are big chunks in the drink, and they're a really fantastic treat after you've finished gulping it down. I really enjoyed this coffee. This was my first time visiting here with my sister as she saw a TikTok video of Barburu stating that it had one of the best matcha drinks in town and when we tried it we can confirm that they have some really good matcha! They also have multiple matcha options for you to choose from as seen in the pictures. I tried the guava matcha latte and it was soooo good. This is a review for their Lunar New Year pop-up at Square One -- not their regular store. Their gift box of baked goods was beautifully packaged. We were there near the end of day, and so the box which was originally set at $30, was sold to us at $20! It was an incredible deal, considering the time that must've gone into crafting each of the 6 baked treats. Really could've been sold for $40-50 each box. I hope they have made enough to cover costs! And know that their work/art deserves more! Anyway, onto the box -- it had a lovely variety of goodies, with terrific ingredients and beautiful presentation. I think some of the items could have more stronger flavours, but overall was quite a nice box to share. My favourite item was the Pineapple Almond Cookie! My partner and I got the Earl Grey matcha latte and dalgona matcha latte. We both agreed that it is one of the best matchas we've had in the GTA! The matcha itself is pretty strong but umami. The milk doesn't overpower the matcha. You can really taste the Earl Grey in the matcha latte which I've never been able to re-create when I make matcha at home. My partner really enjoyed the sweetness of the dalgona matcha latte. We went here on a Saturday afternoon and there was quite a bit of a line. We also got the matcha mochi flan. By like 3:00pm, they had like one line of these flans left so we got there just in time. We really enjoyed the flan! The matcha taste was strong and the mochi layer was a nice touch. It could be a bit thicker but this was also one of our favourite matcha desserts we've ever tried! Newly opened Barburu sells asian-french-danish pastries. Located in the center of Yuan Ming's newly reno'd food court. Excellent croissants. My fave asian treat is the wife cake, made with gewy winter melon. However the website has more interesting flavors that I didn't see displayed. Hope to see those soon! Convenient meal spot when out grocery shopping, or when you might need to binge eat after traffic court next door. Lots of free parking. Easy to find. The food court has its own accessible exit on the east end of the building. You can cut through Yuan ming too, but leave ur shopping cart on that side. I should add that this is a soft opening. We went back for drinks and the raspberry pastry (which is phenomenal*****). The ruby grapefruit fruit tea was surprisingly bitter but refreshing in a flowery herbal way. Great little gem of a cafe within the supermarket! I got to try the strawberry matcha & dalgona latte drinks with a crookie (croissant and cookie combo)! The matcha was very high quality and definitely one of the better places for a good matcha drink! The dalgona latte was slightly underwhelming, but still delicious and worth to try nonetheless. One of my favourite places in Mississauga to get a good espresso based drink or matcha! They're located in a food court area inside Yuan Ming supermarket (which is pretty convenient because you can grab a drink/snack while grocery shopping or vice versa). My favourite drink is the coco-matcha (coconut water with matcha foam and it is DIVINE). Staff are very friendly and are always helpful when describing their different menu items. Service can be slow some times but I've watched them make their drinks and the amount of detail and precision that goes into them, makes it all worth it! While they do have a wide range of pastries, I've only tried their croissants and Biscoff cookie. They taste great and have lots of layers, but I found them to be a TAD bit over-baked. The cookie wasn't too sweet which is a bonus for me. Matcha is ceremonial grade and I believe they source their coffee beans from Pirates of Coffee in Mississauga (don't quote me on that).
