Nothing really stood out to me on the menu for drinks but I tried the Hojicha smoothie with cheese milk foam and pearls. It had a very strong flavour and the pearls were perfectly cooked! The drinks it self was good but I don't think I would crave it. They had a variety of wheel cakes flavour, if you get 6 no tax! My favourite flavour has to be the Oreo Custard. This is a sought after bubbletea place. I discovered them years ago and always thought it totally sucked their location was a trainride away. I guess if Formocha were any closer my money may be spent far more quicker than it currently is. So, this is a treat place, I like to visit when I am in the area. This last visit was a nice one, accompanied by my mom we got a wheel cake each and she got a ginger tea which she was over the moon happy with. I purchased a taro milk tea, I think, although the memory escapes me. Service, is usually good. Albeit a bit backed up at times because of how busy they often get. This last visit, I saw one of the staff behind the counter take a sip of their bubbletea and it appeared like a small sip. This is not at all being mentioned to get anyone in trouble**1.) Lucky, I thought to work in a bubbletea shop & have access to bubbletea, seemingly at your fingertips. 2.) How people are able to have enough self discipline to only small sip at their bubbletea beverages, I will not understand. I know they are a specialty drink and deserve to be savoured, yet that just aint me, I drink mine like water. That is to say, pretty quickly. The space inside is always warm. Depending on when you go seating may be full or may be empty. I judge a place often times by their washroom. This may be odd, yet if your washroom is properly up kept and cleaned, chances are the rest of the establishment is pretty top notch too. Their washroom is pretty orderly. I like Formocha I do, yet for whatever reason I do not like their washroom. It feels kinda neglected and much like a Tim Hortons washroom to me, the ones that are deemed public. My friend and I shared a box of 5 wheel cakes ($13). The flavours we chose were vanilla custard, oreo & custard, double chocolate, matcha, and bubble tea. I love coming here once in a while when ever I'm around the area. Due to the construction happening around yonge and eglinton it is a bit difficult to come by and I miss their yonge and finch location! I love coming here for their wheel cakes and I'm glad they have it on ritual cause I love to order a head as it does get a bit busy during the day at certain hours and plus they do take around 15 mins so it's best to order a head and no need to wait. They have a total of 6 flavors and sometimes they do special flavors but the general ones are custard, oreo, matcha, cheesecake, chocolate lava and early grey bubble tea (my favorite). It's best to enjoy them while their fresh and still hot (be careful of the hot filling inside) a must try when coming here. They have a wide range of bubble teas from milk teas to fruit teas and one of my favorites I usually get it the assam milk tea. Ordered a slice of cheesecake and it was completely frozen, rock hard, and when we asked for a fork, the barista quite literally THREW one at us. I saw the wheel cakes on a TikTok video and I had stumbled on this tea shop a while back but didn't have the chance to try it out. I pre-ordered on ritual because the wheel cakes take 15 minutes to make as they're made to order. I got 5 different flavors: vanilla, matcha, bbt (Earl grey with tapioca balls), chocolate and cheese. We also ordered the formocha milk tea. The wheel cakes reminded me of giant bubble waffles with flavors inside. The box it came in was a tad flimsy and I didn't notice that it was unraveling until I got the the car so carry from the bottom just in case. Our favorite flavors were vanilla and bbt. Great bubble tea place on Eglinton. I had the espresso bubble tea. They did not skimp om the espresso, i was alert for the next 12 hours. I also had the matcha wheelcake. This taiwanese bubble tea shop is the only one offering wheel cakes and was something I always wanted to try. The teashop is located on Eglinton close to Yonge street. With the LRT construction in the area, it's really a challenge to get here by car. I'm happy I finally got to try it. They have several flavours and sell individual pieces of your can buy a pack of 5. The flavours they offer include: cheesecake, chocolate lava, earl grey, matcha, oreo and custard and vanilla custard. I was torn between earl grey and matcha. I ended up getting earl grey since two pieces will be too many as a snack. They made my order fresh and it was nice and warm when i ate it. The earl grey filling is nice and warm, it was a nice creamy texture that wasn't too runny and there's pieces of soft tapioca inside too. The cake part wasn't too thick and doughy. I was craving some milk tea while in Toronto, so I decided to give this place a try and I am very glad I did. I was happy to find that they also served a little dessert called wheelcakes! This sounded pretty tempting so I made my way over hoping to get a little dessert and a drink. The cafe was surrounded by construction unfortunately but the cafe itself inside seemed very nice and new and bright. The counter is set in the middle and there are 2 sides of the cafe where you can sit. I ordered a cheesecake flavored wheelcake as well as a jasmine milk tea. The jasmine milk tea was okay but not great, so I probably wouldn't order that again. The wheelcake however was interesting and it was my first time trying it. It was a lot smaller than I expected, like the size of my palm. Inside, it was stuffed with cheesecake flavored custard-like filling, and outside, it was sort of like the shell of eggettes. It was yummy but the filling was a bit overwhelming considering the small size of the wheelcake. Great spot for dessert after dinner! I was happy to bring two locals to this place. I'd found it on Yelp and was excited to try their bubble tea and the wheel cakes. Personally, I always get Oolong milk tea with tapioca because I can measure how good a place is by always having the same favorite beverage. The Oolong was good (maybe a little weak), and the tapioca had good consistency. Warning: The wheel cakes are NOT good as leftovers/ next day/ reheated. So, if you're buying the 5-pack, prepare to eat them all same-day. They get a little rubbery and you can't get the crispness back that the griddle creates when they're made. My favorite flavor was the vanilla cream. Cheesecake was good, too. I did not care for the chocolate one - it had a too strong a cocoa flavor in the batter. As these are Japanese desserts, they will be less sweet than you might expect. read more

But it's not like I eat out a lot and may be a while before I circle back to the store. It is essentially a bubble tea store. But, I had a Caramel Latte with quat sugar. My husband had a mocha with half sugar. No add-ons. With that we took a vanilla wheel cake. Coffee - our coffee was fantastic. Probably didn't even need that quat sugar with my caramel. It's a little pricey but the coffee (both of them) was good if you are treating yourself. Also the quantity of the regular cup is almost double of what you get at Tim's which would then justify the price. Vanilla wheel cake - pretty reasonable price wise. the outer portion is not sweet but the inner custurdy (or whatever it was) was sweet. This was quite a nice balance, especially when we had our coffee. In a nutshell, while I am going to try other stuff from the store, I would suggest, grab a wheel cake with your coffee when you visit the place. It's a perfect combo! read more

Just like most bubble tea shops, you can also customize your drink with your preferred sweetness and ice levels. They have an afternoon tea special which I think is $6.99 for drink and dessert. What a deal! There are 5 wheelcake flavours, and they are priced 1 for $2.80 or 5 for $12. My boyfriend and I ordered 5 - one of each flavour except for vanilla custard and two choco lavas. We were told they take about 15 mins to make, so we went to Loblaws in the meantime. Wheelcake review: the packaging is the cutest! The only flavour that really wowed me was Oreo and custard. My least favourite was matcha; this was disappointing because I love matcha, but I found the matcha flavour a little strong and overpowering. Bubble tea is my Starbucks latte. It's what I'd like to have every day, if my pocket allows me to..and there has been moments when I had two in one day. That said, I like bubble tea, but not particularly a good critique when it comes to it. Basically all bubble tea is good to me. This location is my go to after work, because it's the closest bubble tea location to me. I've gotten drinks from them more than a few times. I have a stamp card, now anticipating for my free bubble tea. I'm giving this place a five star because of all the times I go to here, the staff has been super friendly, their tiny shop is clean and they have free WiFi. They also have some desserts available, but last time I stopped by, they didn't have any out. I'm not sure if they stopped or it was too early... As they didn't even have the tapiocas ready when I came in that one time. Their seating is about 5 tiny tables for 2 people, each. If you're in a group, you can put it together. It's a really, really small shop. If you want bubble here in Yonge and Eglinton, this is the place to go. There's construction about the time I'm doing this review and you will not see the shop because the street sidewalk is closed off on this corner. I jumped on the bandwagon and discovered how good Formocha boba tea and their freshly made wagon wheels can be! I have to warn you that the Eglinton st construction is an absolute mess and a half BUT dont let that stop you too hard. There is a green P parking garage within a 3 minute walk and it's only a quick walk from the subway station... within a moments notice, you can get your hands on some really nice BBT and delicious treats. Another nice thing about this place... it's cute and clean with relaxed sitting cubes for groups. So what is a wheel cake you ask? Imagine light pancake batter freshly grilled up in a shape of a hockey puck (yeaaaah I'm Canadian) and filled with the smoothiest delicious custard. That's a wheel cake. The amazing thing is that is freshly made right in front of you in 12 minutes (a bit of a wait) and it only costs you $2.40 each or if you're super hungry (or with friends) ... just a little over $2 when you buy 2 or 10. For the same price, you can get terrible coffee that has been sitting there for 20 minutes. I'll take the delicious 'just made for me' wheel cake thank you very much! Formocha pearl tea - I got mine half sweet with no ice and honestly, I really enjoyed this. It was nice and creamy with a good strong tea flavour. At half sweet, it was perfect to not hide the tea flavour but it wasn't too bitter. The boba was nice and chewy as well and they gave a decent amount. 4/5 Coconut pearl tea - A strong coconut flavour was in this with the tea flavour being a subtle note. I found this one to be a bit sweeter than my Formocha but I did enjoy it for a different flavour. The half sweetness was the right touch as well. 4/5 Cheesecake wheel cake - Ok... my first bite was just a meh because it mostly was only the cake part. It was barely sweet and though fluffy... nothing great. The cheesecake custard... OH WOW. Imagine the best creamiest New York cheese cake and then heat it up and make it molten... THAT'S THE CUSTARD! So if you love cheesecake, this is for you. 4.5/5 Cappuccino wheel cake - I found the cappuccino a bit of the opposite of the cheesecake one. I found the cake part to be more flavoured (it had a touch of coffee note) and more crispier edges (which I liked). The centre was good and had a nice creamy texture. The flavour though wasn't as strong or as delicious as the cheesecake one. Still a great treat to have! 4/5 My dream wheel cake would be the cappuccino cake with the cheesecake custard. omg. I've tried many bbt places around Toronto, Waterloo, Mississauga etc and I've never come across this one until a friend suggested it to me since I was around the area. Holy, I can only say I wish this was in downtown core because I would frequent this place, hands down. The moment I stepped in, I got a whiff of the milk tea, and being a lover of strong tea, I immediately got good vibes. It was a cold, rainy evening when my friend and I stopped by for a hot drink. The menu is simple, but definitely satisfying. We both got the oolong milk tea w/ tapoica. Our first sip as we left the store was pure euphoria. I really really love oolong milk tea and so far, I am confident to say this is my favourite place for that. I havent been able to go back and try their other teas, but if I get the chance, I will for sure. The tapoica was done nicely, I got regular sugar and it was too sweet for me (but still not as sweet as other major bbt chains) so I will adjust levels next time. Drinks: After drinking the milk teas here at Formocha several times, and today going back and ordering my usual milk tea at Chatime, I don't think I can ever go back to it. Formocha just has a much stronger taste of tea in their drinks, it just makes it seem like other bubble tea shops water their drinks down a lot. My recommendations: I feel you can never go wrong with the red bean milk tea, rose milk tea, and my personal favorite- winter melon milk tea. Wheel Cakes: Their cheesecake wheel cake is BOMB. All their cakes are good, but cheese cake is my go to. You can order it as a combo with your drink for $2.00 + the price of your drink. (For those unfamiliar with the Taiwanese wheel cakes- I'd say it's a cross between a pancake and waffle with delicious custard inside) It's always made fresh by the employees at the store (although it does take 12-15minutes to make) so make sure you place an order for pickup if you're in a hurry!
