My sister arrived before I did, and chose a window side table with 2 very large, very comfy wicker type chairs. There are many options available for seating, including a very wide, purple, upholstered bench with long tables, and pretty windows and chandeliers. My sister ordered a half portion grilled halloumi sandwich, which included sun dried tomato pesto and avocado. She was satisfied and enjoyed it. I don't know about price point as I had already had lunch. We both ordered hazelnut lattes. I found it too sweet. It also came in a paper cup because I ordered a large, and they don't have ceramic cups to accommodate that size, only extra small, small and medium. At least I still got the signature piece of chocolate, which is a very creamy, milk chocolate piece. Overall, it's a nice splurge on an occasional basis for me. I wouldn't go often, not just because of price point, but because the sickly sweet level of sugar in the latte was something I'd expect from McCafe as opposed to a specialty Espresso chain. Instead, he offered his help and talked me through a few of the items that I expressed interest in. I ended up ordering the breakfast sandwich with a kale and mango smoothie. Mmmm! Both were great! I sat near the window - the store had lots of seating and was very clean. I was also impressed by their menu. They seemed to have just about everything and could accommodate vegetarians, or dietary restrictions. Baked goods, meals made to order, you name it! I even noticed their attention to detail like having lemon water in a beautiful glass dispenser for customers to help themselves. I'd say it's a lot like the Panera chain in general, except that there is a lot more variability between locations with Aroma Espresso. (Panera also offers a lot more as a bakery for takeaway breads and pastries but since I only do dine-in, neither here nor there in terms of my rating.) On the whole, AE is pricier than your average takeout coffee/food place, especially when you consider that, when it comes to food, it's a cafeteria style setup where you have to wait for your order and bring it to your table. The ingredients are fresh and the quality is pretty good, but it's a lot of money for a lunch option when you consider that it's that style of service. The portions are decent, at least. Having said that, I was a regular at this location for over about a 2 year period and I always loved my experience here. The location in the corner of the building afforded a large indoor area AND outdoor patio space as well. The selection of seats indoors ranged from basic tables and chairs to comfier booths, which always made it nicer for the extended stays on weekend afternoons when a friend and I would come in for a game of Scrabble. I never, ever won .. but I won't take that out on the venue :) Although I found the prices a bit on the premium end, I did appreciate that the staff were always efficient. I never got a rude or dismissive attitude and the condiments area was always well maintained. In spite of the fact that I had to pay extra for flavour shots, which I don't even really enjoy more than when you have the brewed flavour offerings at other places, I found the range of coffee condiments i.e. everything from skim to 18% milk, raw sugar, honey, etc., and the piece of chocolate, to be a fair offset. Previously, I have tried their waffles, crepes, and standard bacon and eggs breakfasts. All were delicious. They have a great selection of flavored coffees and a variety of creams/milks.
