Asian fusion joint, forsure! Browsed on yelp to find some food to take home and I came across this place. Never heard of Cha Cafe but the ramen burger image lured me in. Once I got there, the girl who was taking my order was very helpful and patient.. I couldn't decide what I wanted. It sucked that they didn't offer the ramen burger at that time. She said that it was a dinner item and served after 4pm, bummer. If you want the ramen burger folks, come after 4pm! Here is what I ordered to-go for 2! *Rainbow Ahi Poke bowl- They offer one side for you to choose. I got a side of broccoli salad which was pretty good. The ahi-bowl was a bit of a letdown. It wasn't as delicious as I thought. There was a distinct taste that tasted off to me but who knows, probably depends on the person's tastebud. *Cha Cheesesteak fries- It was good! Ordered it to-go! I asked them to put this pickled radish/carrot topping that they put on lee's sandwich on top! Once I brought it home, I cooked sunny-side egg and put it on top. So good! I feel my review isnt even nessacary because there are plenty BUT oh well. I had a hula performance and we decided we wanted hawaiin food but instead found this asian fusion gem! I LOVE THE NINJA(PUMPKIN) FRIES! Anyone not sure about them, who cares, get them! Sister got Chicken Wong. Adored it. I got Beef wang. So much flavor! We LOVED the size of the mushrooms. I used to come here probably 5 or 6 years ago and ALWAYS tried their new stuff. I remember getting the beef wang box as my go to, their pumpkin fries (not sure if they still got them), their like beef wang fries.. it was always a good time with friends, the place was brand new, and the food was AWESOME. Fast forward to last week and I ordered beef wang boxes for the company for lunch, and I'm happy to say from the last time I was there YEARS ago, the quality and portions haven't changed. I still can't finish my food. That cha sauce is STILL fire, and the food is awesome. If they still have the kabocha fries, GET THEM. If you can eat beef, get the beef wang box. I haven't disliked anything I tried there. Small businesses need your support in these trying times, and I'm very thankful this little hole in the wall is still around. CARNITAS NACHOS: generous portions of carnitas with mango and onions over fried wonton skins ("nachos"). BEEF CHEESESTEAK FRIES: The amount of fries gets overwhelming, but the meat is delish. BEEF WANG BOX: I love mushrooms and this box has your 3-4 different types for you to enjoy + beef + egg + rice. One order is enough for a serving and a half! my favorite thing in the world is french fries, so when i went here and had kabocha fries i almost died of pure happiness. it's probably my favorite thing to eat here but everything is pretty awesome. the edamame is good but i am yet to try bad edamame anywhere. the pork gyoza were tasty and a lot cheaper on their monday (i believe) happy hr menu. the spam and egg cheese fries are delicious! combining spam and fries definitely puts a smile on my face. the ssam bap are interesting and really light if you're not in the mood for their heavier items. and if you want more of a balanced meal, the beef wang box with brown rice is filing and delicious. the one thing i've had here that i wasn't to crazy about the kalbi cheesesteak sandwich. i found it pretty dry and there was a little too much bread. i also really like the staff here. one over heard that i work in education and gave me a discount that they give to teachers and i believe other civil servants. i will definitely be going back soon! read more

Though I love SPF (sweet potato fries), Cha Cafe's pumpkin fries are a close second. Delicious! Private lot with a decent amount of parking. Their service is good, but it might take them a bit of time to acknowledge you because they don't have a dedicated hostess. Prompt and genuine service. Our waitress was happy to explain the menu in detail and offered us some good suggestions. The beef wang is very popular, and my friend seemed to enjoy it! I love their saam bahp (the lettuce wrap), but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw rice on top of the lettuce. It was filling, but I wish there were more meat and less rice filler. CONS: - SERVICE: My friend ordered through the phone and the kitchen lacked some ingredients to take one of the orders. We only realized that when we arrived and had to wait for our order. This place is cray busy! Price: Very reasonable. I got a lunch special and it was like $7-8. It was like a mini bento box which came with rice, a protein, a side salad, and a drink. Parking: Sucky. Their lot is tiny. Service: Pretty bad. When we came in, there were a lot of uncleaned tables and a lot of people waiting to be seated. They were definitely understaffed. They also gave me the wrong order. Food & Drinks: The portions weren't huge but they weren't small either. I'd say it was almost the perfect size for me... I was definitely stuffed afterwards. I came here since there weren't that many places open late at night. It was around 10:30 and I was glad to have a place to eat some comfort food. I was seated down very quickly and given a menu. I ordered some chicken tenders and it was supposed to come with fries, but I opted to switch it out for some broccoli instead. The food tasted good and enjoyable It definitely hit the spot. The rest of the menu seemed very promising as well so I will come back to try some others things and also some drinks. Yum! The location of this place is pretty...odd? It's located on the corner of Arden and Lower Azusa in this small plaza with like 4 other places. Walking in around 12 and they greet you and let you seat yourself. The place was more than half full. What we got: Cha Fruta ($4): it seemed interesting and I wanted to try something new. It looked similar to a chamango and I've been wanting to try that so cha fruta it is! It comes with pieces of pineapple, mango and strawberries. It was an interesting experience, but I don't think I'd get this again... Frozen Horchata ($4): very cinnamon-y to me. I'm not a cinnamon person, but my BF wanted me to try it anyway...tasted like the sugar of a churro. Beef Wang Box ($9): my BF's sister shared some with me and it was pretty good. It was rice with beef, mushrooms and eggs. She enjoyed and it comes with a lot. Cha Cheesesteak Fries ($9): it had beef, onions, peppers and other stuff. This was pretty good as well. BF loved it. Beef wasn't chewy or soggy from all the stuff in it. Fries weren't that soggy either, but wasn't crunchy either. Yelp really hyped this place up for me.....and it was somewhat of a disappointment. :( I'm not really big on giving 3 stars, since it doesn't really give you an idea on if the place was good or bad......but this place rightfully fits the 3 star category. It was just meh. We had the ninja fries (pumpkin fries) and it was good...but had too much batter, in my opinion. Wasn't overly greasy though, which is a good thing. We had the poke bowl and beef wang bowl. Beef wang bowl was cool..not phenomenal, but some sort of yums. Poke bowl tasted like it consisted of not fresh fish. Maybe because the fish was marinated, but my palette didn't like it. I also think I might have gotten sick from having the poke bowl. :\ BUT, the reason I was here was for the frozen horchata frappe which I ordered as a dessert. This was a complete let down. Not sure what we were thinking when we decided to drive a bit out of way to check this place out. I had seen reviews for this place while looking up other things and decided, "why not? Let's just try it out." As we pulled in, it was in a dingy strip mall with a water refill station next door. The restaurant itself was a bit "greasy" feeling as we walked in. Counter tops and tables did not seem clean. As soon as we walked in, two teen boys were waiting for their food. We took a look around and saw a majority of teens hanging out inside... An indicator to us ol' foagies that this place is not for us. And that they might be a bit loud for our super sensitive hearing. We decided to order the chicken wings, the Beef Wang plate, and the cubed steak & eggs special. I will be honest, I was skeptical about what to expect. When we went to find a seat, the bench was heavily crumb and food particle-laden. Gross. Got our food. The beef Wang (not sure what Wang refers to... Testicles? ...Beef testicles?) was basically strips of beef with strips of fried egg and mushrooms over rice. Nothing fancy. It's a soy sauce based dish and you have the option to add their Cha sauce to flavor it up. As others have mentioned, the Cha sauce is essentially Sriracha and Mayo. The chicken wings were surprisingly tasty, Had a good crisp to it, and was also moist. Comes with a choice of buffalo or ranch sauce. The cubed steak and eggs came with a salad. Good dressing on the salad, decent portion and not overly dressed. The steak was cooked well done. Not sure what cut of steak it was but it was quite fatty. Decent flavor but nothing to write home about. The eggs.... Overcooked. Would have been best if they were runny but they were not. Prices are a little steep for what you get. My cubed steak and eggs was $13 and the beef "Wang" was $9. Our chicken wings were $8. The wings, not too bad. The other two dishes.... We felt like we could have gotten a better meal for less, elsewhere. Sadly, we will probably not be back. Ordered two things here: the Beef Wang Rice Box and the Poke Nachos. First off, the Poke Nachos come with a decent portion of poke and it was pretty fresh. I was half expecting to be disappointed by the dish since it was $10 and usually places are stingy with their fish and the taste would just be subpar. However, this was not the case. I actually really enjoyed the poke nachos. I'd probably order this again! The other dish I ordered was the Beef Wang Box. It's basically a type of teriyaki rice bowl type dish, served with white rice and beef on top with several types of mushrooms. I think the flavor by itself is just ok, but it goes really well with the spicy mayo sauce. It can feel a little dense to eat the whole thing by itself since it's a little greasy and the mayo...but it tasted pretty good. This is a place you order as you enter and then sit down with a number to place on your table. They bring out your food, but water and sauces are self-served. I was kind of unsure whether or not you are supposed to clear your own table since everything is served in disposable plates/bowls/utensils. This location is in a small strip mall with maybe 15 parking spaces, but I never have trouble finding parking here. Overall, liked this place. There is no way I would have ever expected to get the best burger I ever had here. It looks like a regular little hole in the wall place. You would never be able to tell this place is that awesome! Coming in, I knew that their food was going to be good based on the Yelp reviews-- and it was! I got the Kalbi Beef Skewers with the added steamed rice and zucchini combination. The kalbi was nicely cooked and so flavorful, the rice was nice and chewy, and the zucchini was nicely pickled. The drink I got, however, wasn't that great. I got the fresh lemon green tea with half sugar thinking that it would be similar in taste to Happy Lemon. I received a very watery iced tea that doesn't taste like lemon at all. Maybe I shouldn't have assumed that it would be similar to Happy Lemon's Freshly Squeezed Teas, but I was pretty disappointed with the drink. I came around dinner time, so it was quite busy and loud. Plug in some earphones, and you're good to study. Their WiFi is a bit spotty, so just keep that in mind. I'll definitely come back and try more of their foods next time... their drinks... may take some more courage on my part to try again. read more

I don't really understand what the hype is all about. I've been told by a few people that this place has good food, and was pretty disappointed. Parking: There is a small, private lot. It looked like most of the stores in the plaza was closed at night, so most of the spots are for Cha Cafe customers. Service: HORRIBLE. The staff was so INCOMPETENT. First, it took forever to get someone to take our order. Second, it took forever to flag someone down to get my Yelp check-in dessert. Third, I tried to get a waitress's attention. She said she would "be right there" but never came back. So then, I flagged a waiter down, and I showed him the check-in offer and told him that I wanted a cheesecake. He responded with "ok" and never brought me my cheesecake. I thought he was busy handling other customers, but then I realized he was just sitting behind the bar. Afterward, I had to ask the waitress who never returned for my dessert. Food: The food was decent. I think I ordered the wrong thing. Should've stuck to the fries/nachos since that seemed to be the more popular items. I ordered the Poke box. It lacked sauce and the fish wasn't too fresh. The ramen burger was definitely a good, tasty burger. Almost resembled the taste of In-n-Out in my opinion. Some yelpers didn't like the cheese, but I personally really loved the cheesy gooeyness mixed with the sauce! But for $9, I'm not sure it was worth it. The ramen kind of gets lost once you bite into it and it also makes the burger kind of heavy, which fills you really fast. My boyfriend and I each ate half and it was enough to make us too full for the free dessert :( Overall, it's definitely worth a try, it's a solid burger, but for $9 I'd rather go get 3 In-n-Out burgers! We also got the ninja (pumpkin) fries and beef wang box. The fries were pretty good with the spicy mayo sauce, but it was too battered and didn't use enough pumpkin. We also ordered the beef wang box because it seemed popular among yelpers and also because my boyfriends last name is wang haha so we just had to! It was definitely a step up from yoshinoya beef bowls, but I wouldn't order it again. After a few bites, I just got over the flavor of it. I'm not normally a fan of fusion food, but this place isn't too crazy with it's fusion that I can do. I had the Beef wang bowl, it's pretty good. It's a mix of anything and everything. It also has sauce mixed in. I also had the ninja fries, which is pumpkin fries. It was a little greasy and salty at spots, but it's a nice alternative to potato fries. Overall, the food tastes like one of those Asian cafe, it's decent. I'm going to want to come back to try the ramen burger (which they start serving at 4pm). read more
