I bought a groupon deal and came here. This restaurant is in oak cliff. When we arrived, we were surprised that there were no seats inside because we came here without reading anything. We got excited for the variety of foods this place offered! We quickly ordered pastor torta, pastor tacos and barbacoa tacos. Whenever we got there, we did not see many people waiting around, and because the cashier told us it was not a busy time at that time, we waited at the table for the food. After about 20 minutes, we went back to the car because it was really windy. We saw that many people were actually waiting in the car too. After over 30 minutes the cashier called our name, and we finally got the food!! One recommendation, order before you come...Most of people seem to do that. We tried the food...and was it worth the wait? Yesss...!! Except for the barbacoa tacos, which were missing some salt. Also, although I told the cashier I wanted avocados on the torta, there were no avocados. :( I did not want to bother telling them because I was so hungry by then. I ordered off Uber eats and I can say this is the worst carne asada I have ever ordered hands down. The meat was extremely thin and absurdly chewy. It was thinner than my plastic fork. The refried beans were like refried bean soup. I put some steak and onions on a torta with a little salsa. After the first bite I picked the steak out of my teeth and reluctantly went down to the overpriced bar/grill in my hotel. My favorite place for gorditas! We pick up two gordita platters with lengua and omg, so damn good. Picking up is easy as you can order from door dash or just call ahead. They are wearing masks like preparing your food and wrap your food tightly in saran wrap so there are no worries. I never have issues when I pick up my order and love supporting them. read more

While the food here was good, it was really the service that puts Cesar's over the top. We had ordered a LARGE to-go order (think for 40 people). We were first amazed by the low price of the order, and then we were blown away by Judy and how she took care of us. She made sure we had plenty of everything and nearly refused to take a tip (which was incredibly deserved). We had a taco bar with carnitas, beans, rice, chicken, and all the fixings. Everything was still hot and delicious, even after a 30 minute car ride. The two salsas (red and green) were definitely hotter than we anticipated, but were still good. This authentic Mexican spot is a must try. The food is rich with flavor. We came to pick up a good post basketball game meal aka late night Grubb. We got about 12 tacos, many different kinds. We got tripa, which we highly recommend. The barbacoa is good also , and so is fajita. The picadillo was one of my favorites and so was chicharron. The salsa you get with it has a nice flavorful kick. We ordered a side of rice and beans , enough to feed two. The beans had a great taste to them . We also got a small side of sopa de fideo. It reminded me of the sopas back at home. It was simple yet tasty. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but I feel like if you have it on the menu that everything on the menu should be good. I didn't think people can mess up a taco but apparently it can be done. And after reading all the reviews the positive ones have to be fake. Because who write they bought tripe and found l feces in it, or the fajitas meat was rotten and etc. A complete waste of $10. I want to love this place. Allison's review of the place is pretty funny and she brings up a lot of good points. This could be a potential gem for the adventurous folk cruising down West Davis. Similar to what I was hoping for. But when it comes down to it I think anyone who considers this place really good is more based on the fact that its a random, funky Mexican joint in the middle of Oak Cliff and has very rarely any yuppie clientele so it could be slightly intimidating. I had to be honest with myself, and here are my feelings... The menu is pretty sweet. As you walk in you order at a counter and the walls surrounding it are covered with pictures of all the entrees. There's a lot, A LOT of things on the menu I haven't gotten. And I think this place is much more of a torta, gordita, and taco place. They straight up have some cheap entrees that look great. But as far as the tacos, tortas, and gorditas I really can't give them more than 3 stars. The tacos are larger than the typical $1.30 small tacos. These have some size and actually come with beans and onions and they definitely do have some substance to them. Super, super greasy but whatevs. And it's decent, but decent don't warrant 4 or 5 stars. The gorditas filled with pastor had a nice, slightly crispy, homemade shell (can't think of what to call it? it's not a hard shell, it's still soft). But that's about where the goodines ends. I have, without a doubt, never eaten anything so greasy in all my life. And please don't get the wrong impression, I'm not one to shy away from some grease. But believe me! The grease literally shot out like water shooting out of a fire hydrant. If it was good that'd be okay, but it really wasn't so it was a turnoff. Tortas, along with the previous two items, were nothing to write about. What I do like from this place is the big menu. And they serve Pambazos (like a torta, but dipped in red chili sauce and is accompanied by things like beans, potatos, and meant). But like most places if you order three things, two of which are on the sign out front, and they fail to satisfy...then the desire to go back ain't very high. read more

I eat here really often because its close by, the prices are great, the food is even better, and the portion size is what seals the deal. Always friendly staff, that speak both Spanish and English. The food is super fresh and flavorful, have never had a bad experience even though I eat here twice a week if not more. Been going here for a while. Service has went down hill. Takes 45 minutes for something as simple as hotdogs is outrageous and they tend to not give you the correct quantity or your food is not prepared properly. Do not send folks off with all the toppings in odd containers, and short them on food they buy. I don't get paid to make my food- it's your job. Do NOT send me out with containers to prep my own food I paid you to do. I will not. Happened again tonight- went right back and told them to make it again, correctly, with the correct amount- or refund my money. Not going to drive back here anymore or be shorted. Points for being open 24 hrs and having some cheap and filling options. Nacho plate can feed 2 for 6.50, great for dates. Not points for dishes lacking decent depth of flavor (tried a few dishes and they were fairly bland), bums asking for money at your table and weird menu that wraps along wall If you're drunk and want a taco at 3 am this place is an option. I use to get these taco's in the morning before i went to work. Probably the cheapest taco's you'll find in the area. They usually have a Morning - 11am 2 for $1 tacos. The price may have went up but still pretty good. There plates usually come with 2 miniature cups of salsa (which is good!), cut limes, salt, & napkins. Taco's de fajita, pastor, and chorizo are good. They have other dishes too at reasonable prices, not just tacos. By the way, these are good beer tacos! read more

I've never eaten here but with the reviews I read, I ordered dinner for a coworker who's in the UT Southwestern hospital, & his family there with him. I ordered the full order of Camaron, Pollo and Salchicha Parillada, hopefully it was as good as the other menu items reviewed. The Grub Hub driver was really nice & calm when he called to let me know my coworker wasn't in the right room & my notes hadn't transferred to his delivery ticket to know his name but he was able to find the right room & make the delivery for me. Not bad but not great. The Barbacoa was flavorful and has the right consistency but man, my taco was 40% all fat so I had to take it out by hand as not to gag when eating it. The Gordita was good but they got my order wrong. I ordered with the yellow and the crumbly white cheese (both cheeses, I know, I know) and they only gave me the white even though the cashier assured me I could get both. Sad day. The lemonade was super good. Pure sugar, lemon juice, and water lol. Almost 0 seating so get there ASAP. All around, would probably go again and try the enchiladas instead.
