Chicken street taco... they even have better deals when you buy in bulk.
Frank S.

Great quality and value for this chicken street taco. Loaded with an ample serving of hot, tender, moist (boiled?) chicken, drizzled with fresh squeezed lime, sweet onions and cilantro on a warm flour tortilla... for $2.50?!? Where can you buy lunch for $2.50? Used to frequent the Mexican restaurant next door, but this is the place I should have been coming to all along. Much friendlier service too. I'll be back!

Fajita (Beef) Tacos Combo.... Not plate.

I saw this place while on the way to the post office. I was craving tacos and noticed there was a line at the drive thru during lunch. I figured I'd join in since the menu was pretty cheap. I got the fajita beef taco combo. It came with rice, beans, and cilantro and onions of course. The rice was okay. It could go with some more flavor but it wasn't bad. The beans were my favorite. They weren't completely mushed and they were seasoned well. The tacos were pretty good. The meat was a bit tough but I'm not mad. It cost about $7.40 total. Don't let the outside fool you. I was skeptical but I'm glad I stopped. Also, the lady that took my order in the drive thru spoke english but the one who gave me my at the window didn't. I still got the correct order and was charged correctly. A lot of the restaurants seem to only speak Spanish in the area and sometimes there's a language barrier but everything was good here.

Dear God in Heaven....My mother has worked in high end spots like the Mansion Hotel, Magnolia, Savor, Lakewood Country Club, but these gorditas shocked her. She doesn't like restaurant food because she's had the best/worst of it, but she was speechless after eating the food from this spot. The food here is so amazing. AMAZING!!! Gorditas are FILLED. Every filling is amazing, but barbacoa, desebrada, chorizo, guisado, picadillo are our goto's. Beans and rice are good. Aguas frescas are perfect. Please check it out. You will not be disappointed. My only complaint is that they do not carry queso fresco, but we bring the food home and load it up. The food here is so good! One of my top 5 restaurants in Dallas for sure.

A drive thru for your authentic Mexican craving is always a positive. That being said, as a whole, this place was.. okay. Drive thru was kind of slow but I do believe they make your main dishes fresh to order.. The woman at the window only spoke Spanish and she wasn't very friendly for a first time english speaking customer. They do allow you to check your food before they take your money which is awesome but I wasn't aware that's what I was supposed to do so it was an awkward kind of moment The food itself was also.. okay. Beans were really good, rice not too memorable and the asada itself needed some additional seasoning. It was my first time trying gorditas and I wasn't too impressed. They were overall kind of dry just neat, bread lettuce and tomato.

Pastor and barbecoa gorditas combo

It resembles a hole in the wall off of Harry Hines and it is one of my absolute new favorites in Dallas! There's adequate parking and inside looks nice and clean. All of the prices are extremely reasonable. I got the pastor and barbecoa gorditas and they are among the tastiest Mexican foods I've had. The gordita shells are nice and crisp and the meats were full of flavor. The salsas that they gave you are super spicy but I couldn't stop adding them to my food. A+++ food and I'm so glad to have found this place and can't wait to visit again!!

I really wanted to like this place. The traditional Mexican food hole in the wall. However my experience was not that great. Lady taking orders seemed pissed at me cuz I didn't speak Spanish. I ask if they were still serving breakfast burritos and she raised her voice and said YA, why are you asking me this? ... wow 1st time here maybe. So I waited got my food and here I am. Breakfast Burrito was like a cheap gas station. Tons of butter, grease and fat dripping, soaked the the whole thing. Tacos had very chewy steak, I ordered carnitas but they changed it up on me. Steak it is. this sucks .. I didn't finish my lunch just felt alitlle greasy.

A staple of Uptown, Las Palmas is often referred to as the best Tex-Mex in Dallas. While I may be…read morebiased as it's my local spot, I do think Las Palmas is excellent. The location is super cute and always packed. You definitely need a reservation or have to go super early to get a spot. There is valet parking as well as street parking, which can get a bit crowded. I've had a ton of different food items the years, but their fajitas are their signature dish for a reason! It comes out sizzling, fresh, and delicious. Do not pass up on the bone marrow sauce, it transforms the dish to beyond a 10/10! The salsas are always good and then tortilla chips salty and fresh. I start with a skinny margarita w a salt rim, which was good. Our waiter, Abraham, was great! He was very attentive and was very knowledgeable about the menu. We also order the ceviche to start, which was yummy! The crackers were a bit of an odd pairing for me and I stuck with tortilla chips, but overall delicious!! My friend ordered the steak quesadilla and thought it was tasty too.

I wished it came with more than 3 tortillas or at least 4 since I don't put too much meat in my fajitas. I also tried the hickory grilled ribs. It was kinda salty, but the barbecue sauce was ok. The meat was very tender & falls off the bone. The fries that it comes with were alright. There was a little of wait, but I didn't mind since the food was good. Our food did take a while. Our waitress was very attentive & filled our water. There was seating inside & outside on the patio. I was glad that we were sat outside since it was a beautiful day today. Besides inside was kinda dark. Overall, the food is a little pricey, but totally worth it. A must are their fajitas.

The food is amazing!! Obviously every dish is meat based here and it's cooked to perfection. Seasoned deliciously and very tender. The garlic mashed potatoes were smooth and tasty. We also ordered Chicharrónes and guac. I'll admit I was very skeptical about The Chicharrónes because they're either cooked right or they're not. They got it down here. Everything was cooked exceptionally well and delicious. 10/10 recommend. Food and drinks are great!

Here in Texas, chips and salsa are such a commonplace experience it's off-putting to pay for them. We ordered the guacamole and the chips and salsa come with it, so that was, I guess, better...but the guacamole was $16, so there's that. The salsa was tasty as was the guacamole, but again, for the portion it's really not worth it. We had the queso flameado, which was yummy and the flour tortillas are good! We split the sirloin and were underwhelmed. For a grilled meats place the steak was very under seasoned and wasn't giving us fresh hot grilled vibes. Meh at best, as were the rice and beans. We ordered elote as a side and it was really the best thing we ate. Service was friendly and efficient! Cocktails average $16ish. Again, for the prices we expected better.

Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. We cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu.

I was genuinely excited to bring my friend here for her birthday after such an incredible…read moreexperience back in December. That visit checked every box -- the food, service, ambiance, and overall hospitality were all exceptional. What really stood out to me then was the attention to detail. I had casually mentioned that one of my cocktails wasn't quite my taste, and Harry personally reached out afterward to say they'd gladly adjust it next time. That kind of thoughtful follow-up leaves a lasting impression and is exactly the sort of hospitality that elevates a restaurant experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit felt like a completely different restaurant. We decided to do a combination of à la carte dishes along with the Experience menu after being told this version would feature entirely off-menu items, which genuinely intrigued us since Ihad also done the Experience previously. At the start of dinner, we were asked about allergies and dietary restrictions. I clearly explained that I have a mango allergy and do not eat beef. Our server then asked whether I ate other meats, and I clarified yes -- and even specifically mentioned that if the machete dish was beef, please still include it because my friend could enjoy it and I really wanted her to try it. He confirmed it would be the sirloin version, so we happily agreed not to modify that course. So imagine our surprise when one of the first dishes arrived dressed with a mango vinaigrette. Thankfully, we barely caught him quietly mentioning "mango" as he set it down. We immediately looked at each other thinking, "Didn't we just discuss the allergy?" It was disappointing, but unfortunately also representative of the overall service throughout the evening. Our server seemed disengaged, inattentive, and often not fully listening. Empty glasses sat untouched, opportunities to order additional items were missed, and at one point we were simply handed the check without even being asked if we wanted anything else. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and ended up pouring it ourselves for most of the evening because our glasses were rarely refilled. I completely understand not leaving the bottle tableside if walkway space is limited, but repeatedly needing to get up ourselves to retrieve it felt out of sync with the level of service one expects from a Michelin-recommended restaurant -- especially at this price point. Then came the machete dish. Instead of the sirloin version we specifically discussed, we received the vegetarian potato version. When the server asked how it looked, I politely explained that we were disappointed because he had specifically told us it would be the sirloin preparation. At minimum, I would have expected another protein substitution given the earlier conversation about what I could eat. I'm also still unclear whether the Experience menu was truly "off-menu" as described, since several dishes -- including the halibut -- appeared familiar. Had that been communicated differently, we likely would have skipped the Experience altogether and simply curated our own meal. At the end of the night, spending over $500 while pouring our own wine, nearly being served an allergen we explicitly disclosed, and receiving dishes different from what was promised made for a deeply disappointing experience -- especially after such a phenomenal first visit. It honestly felt sad more than anything because I know how wonderful this restaurant can be. I'm not sure what changed in the last five months, but the difference was significant.
