This swanky, hip place…read moreoffers up elevated tasty food and superb service in an exquisitely decorated, albeit small, cafe. We braved negative degree weather for the roughly 10 minute walk from our hotel. We walked in at a good time. This is the type of place where a reservation for breakfast would be required. We were sat immediately. The dining area is tight. A green velvet bench, marble tables, metal chairs, all packed into a small area. You could very well have your butt brush over the table of the patrons next to you if you have to get up for any reason. It's tight. Our server was around quickly. He was super friendly and kept things conversational, light and sophisticated. My wife ordered an iced latte, I had their hot drip coffee. For a starter, we had to try the cinnamon knot bread. While it wasn't what we were expecting, it was good. Although, we wouldn't order again. The bread is presented as a small loaf, room temperature with a cold cream cheese icing drizzled over top. The bread had a mild cinnamon flavor and was dry. It lacked the sweet, moist dough you expect from a cinnamon bread. My wife ordered the French style omelet. This had gruyere cheese and chives. Beautifully plated, perfectly cooked and the taste was spot on. It was good enough to forget that she paid $21 for just an omelet, no meat, no sides. I ordered the Eggs Benedict. Pretty standard here. The eggs had bright orange yolks which is common for farm fresh eggs. The "coffee" hollandaise didn't come across with a coffee flavor but it was rich and went well with the ham and English muffins. One thing that stuck with me was their drip coffee. Not sure if it has been a while since I had a light roast but the Rival Bros. Revolver coffee was so good, I got a bag of whole beans to bring back home with me. I may even order it again online. Enswell succeeded on all fronts. The ambiance and service was great. The decor, impeccable. The food, thoughtful and tasty. The details from the silverware to the plates added to the experience. We would come back.

I felt like I ordered the wrong combination. I was able to do an egg sandwich and swap for sourdough bread vs eng muffin. Love that. Didn't love the copper sharp cheese that was a bit messy and tangy. I kept thinking they must have added some type of sauce on it. I'd much rather come back for a simple fried egg combo and chedda cheese. I was also offered sparkling water, but I do wish it had more fizz. The service start to finish was superb in friendly and fast service. I'd come back for mimosa/bar for sure.

Making a reservation online was quick and easy, though I've know it gets very busy on weekends and during the summer. Even though we had reserved a table, we grabbed a sit at the bar (our favorite way to do it). Great decision! Our waitress, Alex, was fantastic. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and went beyond just listing items, she shared her personal favorites and honest perspectives, which really helped us make our decisions. We started with a bottle of Super Tuscan, which was just what we were looking for (and at a great price id say). Their wine list is great, and they have a full bar too. I've heard they're known for their focaccia, but we didn't try it this time... definitely on the list for next visit. For food, we had the Bufala Mozzarella with zucchini/mint on sourdough toast to start. So fresh and flavorful. Then we shared the Crab Pasta and the NY Strip. Both were delicious. The portions aren't huge, but they were perfect for us to share and left us totally satisfied. We were way too full for dessert, but everything we saw coming out looked amazing, next time for sure. They also have a $56 per person family-style option (2 appetizers, a pasta, a secondi, and a contorni), which honestly sounds like a great deal. Definitely something we want to try next time. The space is modern and fits perfectly in Rittenhouse. So happy to finally check this one off my list... and definitely a spot I'll keep coming back to whenever I'm in Philly.

The atmosphere is fun and funky, the diners all seemed to be enjoying themselves. The inside is gorgeous however right at the front door is terribly uneven brick and I almost turned my ankle. We started to order the Chefs Table but realized that would be too much food. I tried the carrots as an appetizer and I just couldn't get enough. I could have eaten two plates. I also ordered the fig ravioli and, sadly, I wasn't as I had hoped. The balance of fig to Gorgonzola cheese wasn't quite there. It need a bit more sweet and less oil. The ravioli looked very oily and overcooked. The taste wasn't great, I bit into large peppercorns many times and it was overpowering and changed the taste of the dish. Service was impeccable however friendliness and being in the weeds doesn't go together. I will say everyone seemed to be working very well together and expediting dishes out of the kitchen. I would definitely recommend Via Locusta to anyone visiting Philly however I would also suggest they try somewhere else first.

I am vegetarian, so here are my thoughts on the new items. Ensalade Verde: is the absolute best salad in the city. in the country even. absolute must get. it's big, however me and my sister still refuse to split it. definitely shareable though if you're not as greedy. Patatas Bravas: slightly different iteration than their past one. I think it's actually better. you get more potato's, more sauce, and the sauce just tastes slightly better but who knows. always ordered when we go Brussels Catalana: technically there is blue cheese in this, however, I am a certified blue cheese hater and I had no idea. so don't be turned off by that. first time having this dish and it was solid. good portion, well coated, right texture. will get again Pimientos De Pardon: shishito peppers were good, decent amount of them. I think everyone had three and we had 4 people. wouldn't get again just because there are other things more worth it but still great. Unknown Cauliflower dish: i'm not seeing it on the menu, so maybe it was just removed, but it was essentially a cauliflower gratin dish. I wouldn't get again. it was good, but lacked salt and was basically just a cauliflower in some heavy cream with a tiny amount of bread crumbs. Valenciana Paella: this has meat in it obviously, but I did eat around the pieces. if you're vegetarian and don't mind your food touching the meat, it's very easy to pick around. all the meat pieces are medium sized. This was very good, the rice was amazing, the watercress was so good. presentation was great. worth the time and money especially if you eat meat Ganache de Chocolate: pretty good. honestly interested in trying the rice pudding next. or just ordering another patatas bravas for dessert. shareable between two people. Passion fruit mocktail: MUST GET for all non drinkers! expensive? yes. worth it? yes. taste is great and it's also a nice thing to have if you're with others who drink and don't want to be left out. it's set up just like an alcoholic drink would be.

From the moment you step inside, the ambiance wraps around you like a gentle welcome. Soft lighting, warm wood tones, and a subtle hum of conversation create an atmosphere that feels both intimate and effortlessly comfortable. It's the kind of space where you can settle in immediately, whether you're meeting a friend or savoring a quiet moment alone. The most recent time, I enjoyed the short bread sandwich--DELICIOUS horseradish cream. They have GREAT N/A drink options. I love their cheesecake. The service is consistently gracious without ever feeling over-rehearsed. Staff members greet you with genuine warmth, offering thoughtful recommendations and an easy attentiveness that enhances the experience without intruding on it. There's a natural flow to the way they interact--always available when you need them, never hovering--and it reflects a team that clearly takes pride in making guests feel at home. What truly elevates Tria Rittenhouse, though, is its beautiful design. Every detail seems considered: the artful arrangement of tables, the textures of the furnishings, even the way the bar anchors the room with understated elegance. The design strikes a balance between sophistication and approachability, creating a space that feels curated yet never pretentious. It's visually inviting in a way that encourages lingering, whether you're enjoying a glass of wine or simply taking in the surroundings. All together, the warm ambiance, gracious service, and thoughtfully crafted design make Tria Rittenhouse a place that's easy to return to again and again. While on my short hop over to Philly I was in the mood for a restaurant with character /flavor and ran across Bolo on Google. I read the article about how it came to be & I was sold immediately. I made the reservation within an hour and the check in was seamless. I love that you are transported into a cafe you would fall into on the island. Staff was all wecoming and friendly which is a great 1st impression. Yaay Bolo. I scan over the menu & realize they have a prefix menu which I wanted to opt for. However I also see that the skewers that I had my eye set on was not a part of the snack portion. However I ask the waitress can she ask the manager if I can have one of the $9 skewers instead of one of the $20 starters to accommodate that portion of the meal. Unfortunately she came bk with news that broke my heart. The answer was no. I respect that. Confused but respect. Now I opt to just do a la carte. I decided to order 2 skewers & the Imperial Chicken rice & my friend ordered the Vica Frita. The moment of truth arrived and the shrimp & chicken skewers were everything I hoped for! I was equally excited about my chicken & rice because I just know im gonna be blown away by a flavorful marinated chicken breast. Mmmmm. The food arrives & it looks phenomenal. Im going in fast for my 1st bite and womp womp womp, it was simply eye candy. The chicken portion was a bit dry & flavorless unfortunately. However the dish redeemed itself with the saffron rice. That was delicious although I only had a few bites. My friend's steak was EVERYTHING! Presentation, spice, juicy and simply gives you a foodgasm. Bunuelos dessert was on point and the puuuurfect size for sharing. Now that the meal is about over this is where confusion comes into play. The waitress comes over & asks "How is everything?". I look at her & say the chicken dish is very underwhelming, just wrap it up I will figure out what to do with it at home. She didn't even attempt to offer the manager to come over to smooth things over or ask would I like something else instead especially seeing that the entire chicken is still sitting pretty on my plate. Lol. She then asked did we like anything else, I said just the check. She then confirmed she is going to go wrap this dish to go & handed us the check. Lol I do not complain much & never do so to get anything free. I do however love feeling like my opinion matters & you will attempt to make my experience the best. So in closing I will come back for the live Thursday music & happy hour.

The tasting menu had three tiers you could choose from- $35, $45, and $55/person. We chose the $55/person option which included the full menu of tapas as well as dessert. They pick the most popular dishes to bring out to the table but also allow you to request any specifically that you'd like. By the end of night, we had a TON of food, even more than we could finish, and ended up trying at least 15 different dishes. All the food was great, with some of my favorites being the eggplant caponata (cold, very flavorful), scallops a la plancha, jamon & manchego croquetas, spiced beef empanadas, and the paellas. Favorite dessert was the chocolate cake, but we were received all the desserts other than the ice cream and sorbet. I may have liked the food experience less if I had ordered off the regular menu and only tried a few small plate, but I loved the option of trying so many dishes. By the time we finished everything, we had been there for over 3 hours (including lots of wine of course), which was really fun! The place gets packed on a Saturday night so we would not have gotten in without a reservation.

Ended up here by accident because I was window shopping with my 3 year old and he suddenly shouted…read more"I need to potty"...most establishments do not have restrooms available to the public so I figured our best bet was a restaurant and popped in here. The staff were immediately sympathetic, super friendly and helpful. Of course, as if I wasn't embarrassed enough, as soon as the 3 year old washed his hands, he shouted "I'm hungry" (is this sort of human I'm raising?). We were already in a restaurant so why not. Before being seated or looking at the menu, I asked for some fries to be put in and the waitress offered some chicken tenders. After finally looking over the menu, I don't think these are regular offerings so I appreciated them trying to be accommodating to a frazzled parent at dinner time. My vegan mother in law joined us and we were pleased that there were so many options for her. My absolute favourite (such that I had to order another round) was the eggplant caponata - perfectly sweet with a little bit of spice. It was so warm and comforting - exactly what I want at the end of a long cold day. My MIL's fav were the Brussels sprouts - they had a tang reminiscent of buffalo sauce and were crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, textured heaven (extra bonus points for the 3 year old absolutely LOVING them - he redeemed himself). If you like hummus, try the spinach and chick pea cazuela. Squash is in season so I knew it was going to be delightful - the pomegranate was a combination that was new to me, but it didn't disappoint. We didn't try the roasted carrots (because my household is all carroted out for the moment) but someone one table over was gushing over them. As a meat eater, I have to say that the non meat tapas were standouts - I tried the empanadas, they were fine; I didn't enjoy the meatballs and I just wanted to order more of the eggplant caponata. All in all, I would definitely come back, maybe for drinks with friends or date night. The drink list looked inviting and nothing says intimacy like mood lighting and shared plates. The price (without alcohol) was very approachable - for $80 a vegan, a 3 year old and a frazzled mom left satiated.

We were planning to go the tapas/family style route, but the waiter seemed a bit pressed to persuade us to choose the tasting (we were being a bit indecisive). It was initially off-putting, but decided to go in on the chef's tasting ($64), and wow were so glad we did. There was SO MUCH FOOD - it seriously kept coming. For our group size, we got 2-3 servings of "small plates", 1-2 servings of "medium plates", and options of 2 mains from steak, lamb, and eggplant (opted for the former two). To start, we got the trio of spreads, olives, French fries and baked cheese. The spreads were ok but the portion size was tiny and none of them were particularly memorable. The flatbread they were served with was excessively oily. The French fries were good but once you finish the top layer they became soggy and unseasoned. The olives were warm which is a fun twist but the texture was mushy and unpleasant. The baked cheese was delicious, however, it was comically small compared to the dish it was served in. For my main, I ordered the king salmon. It was a great portion size. However, it was overcooked, dry, and overpowered by a very bitter garlic flavor. My friend's steak (which she asked for medium) was also overcooked and tough, without a steak knife she was really struggling to eat this. My other friends ordered the swordfish, cauliflower, and halloumi salad - all were ok. The desserts really saved the day. The tahini brownie was incredible! The lemon cardamom bun was also tasty but a little dry. The ambience here is very nice and the bar is beautiful but the bathrooms are filthy. The service was fast but unfriendly. Overall, we were underwhelmed especially considering the prices.
