Went for brunch on Sunday. Wonderful atmosphere and service was great. I had the chicken and waffles which was enough for two meals.
I placed a reservation for 5 PM on a Friday, and as SOON as I walked in until I finished my meal, I said countless times that I would def be back. The food that I had at this restaurant and the entire dining experience has got to be the best I've ever had in Philly. It's funny how many times I passed this place and never even noticed. It's semi in the cut, especially if you're only ever driving past, like I usually am. This restaurant is farm to table dining, which I absolutely love. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I prefer & appreciate fresh food. The menu runs on seasonal basis (which is the best way to eat) and they source from local farms both in the Philadelphia and New Jersey area! I simply could not decide what I wanted to eat since the appetizers, entrees and sides all looked so yummy. During this dine in I didn't get any appetizers (which is ironic actually) but I ordered the branzino that came with fried cauliflower and white bean purée, the slow braised spiced lamb bolognese, and the cornbread. The lamb bolognese was absolutely delicious. This was one of the things where the photo of the food matches EXACTLY how delicious you think it would be. I am not someone who generally opts for pasta at a restaurant (cuz ehhh boring) but it was delicious and the pasta is made fresh daily (my partner ordered this dish) and I will need to make my way to have it all for myself (soon)! The branzino. Fish is a scary one for me to order because I have been let down to many times. I make a post semi recently about the awful branzino I had at "Cry baby pasta" so I was nervous to see how well this played out (if at all). The dish was great! There's this caper salad that tasted just like chimichurri that paired amazingly well with the fish, there were slices of both orange and grapefruit on the dish, and the white beans and cauliflower together were great! Everything on the dish was extremely flavorful, fresh and paired well together. I ordered a gimlet or as it's called on the menu "Sicilian" which is a gin based drink that I had just heard of for the first time a few days prior and I was doing some research and saw that the drink should pair well with the dish. I was doing my own food and drink pairing if you will! When I went to order the server even said it would pair well together, she really knew her stuff! The cornbread was okay- I am a huge fan of cornbread and this one just wasn't my fav. It also was semi rough around the edges. It wasn't bad at all, I've just had much much better tender & softer cornbreads which are my preference. In terms of costing, which I generally don't speak much about in my reviews- for a farm to table dining experience I thought the cost was good! Usually, farm to table prices are quite expensive and experiences you wanna put aside for a "special occasion". I'm really glad I stumbled upon a farm to table restaurant, with a seasonal menu that was affordable- making me feel that I can indulge more frequently than compared to others. I really look forward to trying other items on the menu as everything really was up to my speed. The dessert menu also featured seasonal items but, I decided to close my eyes and be a good girl when it came to desert this day and didn't really pay attention, but I would love to indulge my next time around. Our server was also great! It's a bummer that I didn't catch her name. The hospitality was amazing! From both our server, the manager and all others we spoke to during our visit. My partner recently read "Unreasonable Hospitality" and now every dining experience is met with our internal agenda and standards now due to this book of how things should be and the way we wanna "feel" while dining. I mean, cmon, how many times have you been out to eat, paid your hard earned money and felt awful afterwards due to how you've been treated? (Or ignored). Solid spot! I would recommend~
My partner and I had a Starr gift card to use and we had heard good things about brunch at Talula's Garden so we made a reservation. We had been hoping to get outdoor seating, but OpenTable doesn't specify indoor or outdoor seating with your reservation and unfortunately only indoor seating was available when we arrived at our reservation time. I find the indoor lighting to be a bit dim for brunch and it feels more suited to dinner, but it's still quite pretty and spacious inside. We ordered a mimosa (strangely not on the menu but they're there!) and the mini chocolate croissants to start, which came in a set of three and were quite mini as described, but they were delicious with the whipped Nutella spread! I got the eggs royale entree, which was perhaps one of the best eggs benedicts I've had. Great balance of flavors and a huge portion of side potatoes seasoned with paprika that left me very full even with my partner helping. My partner got the chicken and waffle which I also tried. Also a very generous portion, and the waffle was fluffy and buttery and the chicken was nicely moist. We didn't love the apple topping though which we found quite tart. Overall we had a very nice and filling brunch, but between the rather high prices for brunch (and I'm not personally a huge brunch person) and the inability to guarantee seating in the eponymous garden, I'm not sure how soon we'd be back without a gift card. But definitely a must-visit for brunch enthusiasts in Philly!
We enjoyed a wonderful brunch at Talula's Garden today. Our waiter, Kenny, provided exceptional service making my daughter's birthday even more special. We sat in the outdoor garden on an unusually pleasant July afternoon (by Philly standards). It was very comfortable, even though the restaurant was full. We enjoyed several of the brunch entrees, to include the salmon eggs Benedict and Huevos Rancheros. The food was fresh, hot and perfectly prepared. Finishing with a sampling of their wonderful desserts made it a perfect meal on a perfect day. Well done and highly recommended!
Love this restaurant for it's ambience and aesthetic! The bar, indoors, and the garden/outdoor seating were all such a vibe. Went here for brunch and got the Vegan Shakshuka, Farmers Market Fresh Vegetable Frittata, and Brioche French Toast Sticks. The food was good- my favorite my was the French Toast Sticks. I wouldn't say the food/flavors blew me away but they were pretty decent. The service was amazing- pleasant and helpful staff. I'd probably go back here for their dinner menu which looks very promising. Definitely worth going here!
Dinner outside at Talula's Garden in the late summer is something truly magical. Their little garden courtyard tucked in across from Washington Square provides the most enchanting atmosphere for sipping a cocktail and enjoying several items from their seasonal farm-to-table menu. It was hard to narrow down our choices but we started with the Colorful Beet, Fresh Orange & Whipped Ricotta Salad and Hot Artichoke & Spinach Cast Iron Dip. The portion sizes were generous so we decided to split the Seared Sea Scallops & Fresh Gulf Shrimp with Risotto. The waiter was attentive and paced the meal perfectly. Not only was every dish plated beautifully, but each bite was flavorful and well-balanced. For the quality of food, atmosphere, and service, Talula's is reasonably priced. Highly recommend visiting this place on a late summer night so you can enjoy your meal in their whimsical, candlelit garden.
This is a pretty restaurant and our server was great. We sat in the back of the restaurant and it was lively. I had the hummus and the broccoli and cabbage both were decent. Hummus was really good but the broccoli and cabbage was a different flavor than I was expecting.
Finally! No disappointment either, that's always best. Cherry on top, with my daycare bestie! Who can say that?! And if you can, bless UP! The space is warming, inviting and I love the farmhouse chic vibes. I was t there for the aesthetics, but it was lovely. Staff is super attentive, knowledgeable and sweet! JESS guided us through the lovely menu. I studied it prior, LOL, and she was on point! The experience was chill, love and yummy. Risotto with scallops and shrimp was phenomenal! Next time I'll ask to 86 that brown butter vinaigrette. The biscuits with the sublime butter was a great start along with the strawberry salad my GODSIS got. It was FRESH! We got different desserts to try and I'll be back to try them all. She got the mini donuts and according to her "they are not munchkins"! No these were special, because I tried them. Perfection. We shared the sweets and that butterscotch treat was perfect and here is where the service over stands! Thank you JESS! Can't wait to go back when it's warmer and sit out in the GARDEN! Food-- biscuits were like 0/10. It was advertised like Red Lobster, on some cheddar bay type of thing. They were extremely hard and were not giving that. Red Lobster should take over in that department!! The shrimp & grits were DELICIOUS --10/10. The dessert was really good, too. I'll give it a 9/10 because I didn't get to enjoy much of it bc I left it in the fridge and forgot about it. But from what I tasted when I got it, I love that the lemon cake wasn't too tart considering the raspberry sorbet and lemon curd took on that role. And that mocktail sangria was delicious--OMG 12/10! Service-- the guy was great! No complaints. It was my friend's birthday and they came through with the cute birthday brownies for us to share. Ambiance-- it's a really cute place and I hope to sit in the back one day because it's really dope over there. I took myself on a tour .
2nd time here and another amazing experience! The salmon dish was good but not a lot of food. The cucumber salad was yummy and the cornbread is amazing. Got the same drink as last time, their version of a spicy margarita. My dad got the bolognese like I did last time and said it's the best pasta he's ever had! The staff here is so nice and the ambiance is great. LOVE this place!!!! Incredible, flavorful food, nice staff, pretty interior, and a beautiful garden. I loved their mango margarita cocktail, it was called The Wanderer. Good flavor and they can make it spicy too! Definitely want to go back and try more items on the menu.
This place was so cool! The food and drinks were top notch. We ordered the shrimp and grits and the chicken and waffles, which were both delicious. For drinks, we ordered the frozé connoisseur, the influencer, the happy camper and the dreamer, which were all so good. We sat outside under the tent and it was perfect - not too loud. Really enjoyed our time here. Would definitely come back here.
I had plans to kick it in the city on a Saturday evening because I had tickets to a show. So, I decided to make a reservation at Talula's since I heard many great things about it. Man, I'm soooo glad I did. I had a 5:00 pm reservation when the place first opened. My party was seated promptly. We ordered drinks. I had the "Lover" which was a cherry and chocolate manhattan. My partner had the "Woodsman," which was Talula's play in an "old fashioned." For an appetizer we tried the cornbread skillet and the Master Class aka 6 Artesian Cheeses. We absolutely loved the Master Class and the cheeses that were featured. I wish I could remember them all. Some were smokey, silky, creamy, and sweet. The cornbread skillet was tasty as well. For entrees, we chose the Black Angus Strip and the Harvest Season Salmon. Both entrees arrived in a timely fashion. I had the pleasure of experiencing the Black Angus Strip, which included crisp potatoes, black garlic aioli, and pickled shallots. My entree was FANTASTIC!!!! I couldn't finish it, but had no problem finishing it the next day. My partner scarfed down his salmon and said it was delicious. We simply loved our dinner at Talula's and would absolutely choose to revisit before our next show in the city.
Lovely spot for brunch- the location is nice for a date or friends get together and the food exceeded expectations. The pancakes are massive but I have to say the knockout was the biscuit with this amazing salted honey butter. Some people said they were dry in the reviews but I thought the opposite so wanted to mention. Also the cucumber salad had been recommended a few times and was really light and crisp. We left wanting to figure out how to recreate the recipe. Also a good set of mocktail options which we always appreciate because we don't drink alcohol.

Food Quality & Taste- 3/5 The food was fine. While the frittata was average for me, the waffle was really good! I liked the cornbread feel of the waffle. Service- 5/5 Service was excellent! I received a warm greeting from the hostesses and was quickly seated. My server was also very quick to take my order, kept my water glass full, removed used plates from the table quickly, and was quite responsive to all requests. Really impressed with the service! Atmosphere- 4/5 It's beautiful inside. There's bar seating, outside seating, and a variety of spaces inside to sit. It is also quite "cozy." The pillows, dim lighting, and low floor lamps made for a really nice brunch. I'd go back just for the atmosphere. Value- 4/5 Great value! Nothing too expensive, and there are a variety of options at different price points. The service and atmosphere really make this a great option. Opportunities for Learning- 5/5 There are many learning opportunities! There are different seasonal options/ menus, many different dishes that would teach you something (ex., the Italian frittata vs. the French quiche), and some cool ingredients that would make you Google. read more

This place is just consistently good. I haven't been back in a few years, but last night went with a friend and just yum! All of it! Sat outside, our server was great didn't rush us. Let us chat and take our time! Drinks were fab - mango margaritas + alcohol free sangria (tasted like normal one). Carrot hummus appetizers was one of the best things I've had in a long time! Just sooooooo good and they brought us more pita (no charge). Dinner we got cucumber Thai salad so so so good. Branzino crispy skin and flaky inside and lamb bolognese. Great service and ambiance. Food was very good. Cute garden on the side. We started with soup & goat cheese. Our favorite dish was scallops & shrimp. Next would be the lamb bolognese, then the branzino. Lemon soufflé was better than berry bread pudding. read more

An excellent restaurant to include service, food, & cocktails. We had a party of 4 for dinner in October '25, stating this because the menu changes. We sat outside on the patio under the various heat lamps, nice n toasty. We began with "The Master Class" this is a charcuterie board with six cheeses, nuts, and jam. It was yum yum. Very excellently paired. We all very so happy to have this delightful experience. I split the pear & goat cheese salad and this is something you need to experience. Like the ingredients are paired so well in the salad. My taste bud were living their best life. As a vegetarian I ordered the handmade ricotta ravioli. They added a mushroom gravy which made for a protein addition. The pasta was al debate. Ravioli was covered in Swiss, sage, and breadcrumbs. I felt this was a good size entree. For a cocktail I delighted in The Happy Camper. It's bourbon base which I love. read more
Super cute restaurant and there is a lot of seating! The food prices were super reasonable. The menu is a little hard to read since it's literally lines of words all mashed together. First off, this place is beautiful! The outside is like a magical dream and the inside is a bit fancy but impressive. The service was very nice and accommodating to our needs. We were a big party in town for a business retreat. We shared a few appetizers, including the cheese board, biscuits, and the burrata and tomato salad. All were good, but the biscuits were really a stand out and amazing. For meals I ordered the scallops and shrimp dish while some ordered the chicken, the lamb bolognese, the corvina, and the salmon. All were good but the chicken was wonderful and I wish I had gotten it! By dessert we were so full, but did order the lemon soufflé for us all to have a bite. It was tasty, maybe wouldn't order again, but it had a nice tartness. Would definitely go here again and highly recommend it! read more

We went to Talula's Garden to celebrate our anniversary, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. We started with our drinks. I got the froze. It was perfectly refreshing and fruity! We then got the famous cheddar biscuits, and wow... they live up to the hype. I ordered the chicken and gnocchi, which was rich and comforting without feeling too heavy. everything tasted so fresh and tasty. To celebrate, we shared a cute little dessert (they even wrote "Happy Anniversary" on the plate!) and a they gave us a glass of sparkling wine, which made the night feel extra special. Talula's Garden is probably currently my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia at the moment. My wife and I went here to celebrate our 6-year anniversary, as it's a cute little "date night" spot with both indoor and outdoor seating, and staff went above and beyond to make it truly special. From the moment we sat down, their kindness and attention to detail stood out. They started us off with a delicious sample of their lavash cracker with whipped ricotta, and later surprised us with complimentary mini chocolate chip cookies and glasses of champagne! Our waitress was fantastic! Friendly, knowledgeable, and full of great menu insights. She checked in often and made sure everything was perfect. The Fall-inspired cocktails were delicious and creative, and the food was to die for. I had the seared sea scallops and fresh gulf shrimp over leek risotto. It has been hands down one of the best meals I've had in Philadelphia. Everyone, including our waitress, recommended the cheddar-chive biscuits as an appetizer, so we gave them a try and truly found out what all the hype was about. This was a fantastic experience. It has the cutest decor and comfortable seating. I came with a party of 5 and the server was spot on and attentive. I got the pork chop because believe it or not, that's a go to when I see it in the menu. It was juicy and had a great flavor. The added cookies and ice cream choices were great too. I have been to several Philly restaurants now, but certainly not as many as a local. With that said, this one tops my list. It's really really great. read more
I had a the pleasure of being in Philadelphia for an only a day and a half and Talula's Garden was one of the top places on my list to go visit. I'm happy to say they did not disappoint! The Ambiance: visually the inside and outside of this restaurant is beautiful. They are two different vibes. The outside was almost whimsical like an elevated fairy garden, especially as the sun starts to set. The inside is also cozy but at the same time modern and intimate. I chose outside because I went early September and the weather was perfect. The Service: my server was incredible. Almost everything I ordered came at his suggestion and he did not steer my wrong! He warned me that portion sizes are a bit larger (I was by myself so this was a very welcome warning) and he helped me pick some of the greatest hits, in his opinion. I always had a drink and he was always nearby if I needed anything. One of the managers stopped by to check in which was a nice touch as well. The Food: the star of the show! Overall, I was incredible impressed with all of the flavors that work harmoniously and the lightness for some of the dishes was astounding. I felt like I was being transported through a wonderful food journey. My favorites included the line caught tuna crudo, steak frites, espresso martini, and warm chocolate pudding cake. It was an excellent solo meal. I will return to Philadelphia one day and will make sure I stop by here again for a wonderful meal. read more

What a great dining experience I had here! Recently took a trip to Philly and had the pleasure of being able to dine at Talula's Garden. Firstly, service was amazing. I dined alone and had no issue getting a table to myself. For a weekday, the restaurant was busy which I feel shows how popular this Talula's is. The restaurant overall has a cozy garden feel to it. With the dim lights and the decor, it definitely gives an intimate feeling to your dining experience. The outside of the restaurant looks fantastic as well and if I'm ever able to dine here again, I will definitely be requesting to sit there. Food was amazing! I ordered and dined on the seared salmon. I was pleasantly surprised at the melody of flavors with the beats, kale and orzo but they came together perfectly. I was also given a complimentary dish before hand that was a burst of flavorful even with its size. I highly recommend and will definitely be back! read more

This place is exceptional! Our server, Kenny was so helpful giving suggestions, this being our first visit. Every dish we tried was 10/10. We sat outside in the garden. It's so beautiful and relaxing. If we ever return to Philadelphia, this will be top on our list of places to come back to! read more

Incredible food: elevated, warm and colorful. Attentive wait staff and really cozy vibe on the inside. Must try the pasta dishes (rabiola ravioli was a unique version of the pasta and our favorite) and the fish was cooked wonderfully. The wine was great and dessert was unique and tasty. A few years ago, while visiting Center City, Philadelphia, we stumbled upon Talula's Garden. We had no idea of the magic that awaited us, but fast forward a few years, on a return trip to the area, we were sure to make a reservation at Talula's again for our first night in town. Driven by local ingredients Talula's Garden, is a farm to table experience conceived by award winning chef Aimee Olexy. The restaurant is nestled on a beautiful street just across from a park and offers both luxurious inside dining and fairytale-esque garden seating options. We began our meal with a bright and refreshing cocktail, The Sicilian, Talula's Blood-Orange Gimlet, which is made with gin, Italian blood orange, fresh lime and agave. A super delicious start to a yummy meal! Next we delighted in the Thai Cucumber Salad, which was deliciously marinated in a sesame chili vinaigrette and garnished with red onion, mint and crunchy peanuts We selected the Bronzino and Roasted Bone-In Pork Chops for our entrees. The Branzino was beautifully seared, flaky and flavorful. It topped a creamy, lemony, white bean puree and was accompanied by broccoli, baby kale and a spectacular garlic-anchovie-chili vinaigrette. The Smoke Roasted Bone-in Pork Chop was charred in just the right way and remained super juicy and fork tender. It was accompanied by cheddar grits, roasted shishitos, poblanos, red onions and chipotle beurre fondue. The only suggestion would be to assess the grits to pork chop ratio as we felt the portion of grits was quite substantial. Overall Talula's is a fantastic find and will remain on our Philly Food Faves list for all future visits!! I highly recommend trying this magical little haven in the heart of Center City!! read more
This place reminds me of Anthropologie in a restaurant. It was an excellent meal at Talula's Garden. I had the scallop and gulf shrimp risotto for $38. It was creamy and decadent. I've never been to a restaurant where I wanted to order all 5 desserts. I settled on the warm chocolate cake with the peanut butter ice cream. It was so good. My friends ordered the Apple Tartin and the Carrot cake. They both raved at their desserts. Feels like a date place as I felt like I was in my own little rom com. Service was excellent and I'm glad I went there for dinner. Pro tip - make reservations so that you can secure a table. Eating inside is a better option as it was hot outside. read more

Worth every bit of the hype! One of the best meals I think I've had in the USA and especially Philly (which says a lot in such a foodie city). Everything was absolutely delicious, from the starters to the entree to the dessert. We started with the meatballs; tomato, burrata & peach salad; and the cheddar chive biscuits. All were so good, especially the biscuits - made to perfection & with an excellent salted butter. For our mains, I got the salmon and my boyfriend got the scallops. That salmon dish is one of the best single dishes I've ever had. The salmon was seared and crispy on the outside while tender on the inside, and while the salmon was made perfectly, the dish was compounded by the accompaniments. The farro, beets, pistachios, and golden raisins made it pack such an incredible flavor, and the dressing they were in was delicious. We finished with the lemon soufflé cake which was AMAZING. As it was my birthday dinner, they also brought a small white cake that was so tasty too. I can't wait to go back and try more things! We went to Talula's for brunch on Sunday, and the food was truly outstanding. I can't recommend the Thai cucumber salad, the cheddar and chive biscuit, and the mini chocolate croissants enough. Everything was truly outstanding. The Siracha bacon was a hearty portion, but it wasn't my favorite of the dishes. The service was pretty good, and the outdoor atmosphere is so charming! Cute spot with fast, friendly, and attentive service. But the food was just okay. Don't get me wrong, it's fresh and very high quality, but the flavors were underwhelming. This review is specifically for the brunch, which: I know that people go to brunch expecting something specific, but the smashburger was bland, the cheddar chive biscuit was just kinda salty, the meyer lemon souffle was too sweet. The strawberry goat cheese salad was the best thing, and I have no notes about that other than it was yummy. Again, fresh and high quality, but not memorable. I'd be curious about the regular dinner menu, maybe, but likely won't be back for brunch. read more
My friends made a reservation for brunch a few weeks prior. Thankfully we did as it likely got even more popular after Taylor Swift celebrated Mother's day there. We split the pancakes which were excellent. I got the Local brunch, which was basic but done so well that I would get again. The cheesy scrambled fried eggs had the perfect fluffy texture. The potatoes and bacon were divinely crispy and the biscuit was good as well. My husband and friend got the sausage and gravy. Only recommendation is it needed more biscuits to soak up all the sauce. The fried chicken and waffle looked saucy but delightful as well. I would definitely recommend this place for brunch if you find yourself in Philadelphia! Service was also quick. read more
Thrilled with our dining experience here! Visited on NYE for the first time and everything was exceptional. The drinks, food, service, and ambiance were 5 starts! Loved sharing the biscuits with our appetizers. I wouldn't get the salmon again, so I will most likely try the pork chop or pasta next time. read more
