I was staying at the Loew's last week, so Bank & Bourbon was an easy last stop for an afternoon cocktail before heading off to the train station. It was midday last Friday, and the restaurant was pretty empty; the bar more so. My friend ordered a whiskey flight, which he said was reasonably priced. He's a hardcore craft beer drinker so I was shocked by the beverage choice! I ordered the espresso martini, which was nicely done. Prices were decent and service was pleasant. There are absolutely better spots to visit in this area, but I'm glad to have checked it out.

The food here was very good and service is friendly and the restaurant is comfortable with plenty of seats. We ordered the pork chop which was perfectly cooked. It came with broccoli rabe that were also very tasty. We also got the brussel sprouts salad which was delicious, it had cranberries and blue cheese. I added a salmon filet which was also well cooked and seasoned. Our kids got the kids burger and chicken tenders which were big in size. Would recommend if you're in the area or staying at Loews hotel. They do have happy hour also but it's only at the bar.

Nice restaurant within a hotel in downtown Philly. I came in after a conference around 8PM and it was fairly busy but I was able to grab a seat at the bar. Service was quick and I ordered the Brussel Sprout salad as an appetizer, it was really good a a nice healthy choice to compliment the burger. The burger and truffle fries were good, the Burger was the right size and the truffle fries were worth the upgrade. I wish I would have tried one of the bourbon flights, maybe next time!

My Aunt was staying in the Loews Hotel for a speaking engagement at a conference held there and she asked us to come meet her for dinner. I made reservations for 5 people through the RESY App for 4/6/25. We were seated on time and the service staff was attentive and friendly. We ordered our meals. I ordered the crab soup and Salmon. We had enjoyed our meals until we saw a mouse scurry across the floor in the dining area near our table. This was my first time eating here and I was very surprised that a mouse was present. It made me not want to eat anything else. We didn't notice anything funny about the food or anything but just the thought of there are possibly rodents in the restaurant turned us off. The manager comped what desserts we ordered from our table but honestly we could have caused a more unpleasant scene. It was almost like they know and this is what they do to make up for it. I didn't like that. For the restaurant owners and operators, I wanted to leave a better review but this needs to be addressed immediately. Not sure if this has happened to anyone else but I most likely will not return. And it's unfortunate because the food was delicious.

Irene Grey's Ferry drink

Irene is the best bartender that I've ever encountered, the Grey's Ferry drink that she's the creator of is one of the best I've ever had. Irene's name needs to be added to the name of the drink to credit her accordingly. If you stop here, make sure you to get this game changing drink and I'd also recommend the cheese steak and parmesan rosemary fries.

We visited Bank & Bourbon on a quiet Sunday evening, and when I say quiet, I mean it! Our table was the only occupied one in the restaurant when we arrived. The calm atmosphere and romantic lighting had its charm but also felt a bit strange for such a well-known spot smack in the middle of Center City. The food left us with mixed impressions. I ordered the trout, which was cooked properly but didn't have any standout flavors. My wife had the risotto, and while it was perfectly fine, it was just that, fine. Nothing was bad, but neither dish inspired much excitement. The drinks were definitely the highlight, though. My wife's martini was perfect, and my Rusty Nail was just the right balance of bold and smooth. Neither drink is terribly complicated, but the top-notch ingredients and care in preparation and presentation were obvious. If you're stopping by, the bar is clearly where they shine. Service was friendly but not particularly attentive, which was surprising given how slow the restaurant was. We had to wait longer than expected for drink refills, check-ins and the check. So would I come back for dinner? Certainly not, especially at the prices they charge. I would be happy to drop by the bar to sample from their extensive bourbon, whiskey and scotch collection for a nightcap if I were staying in the area.

The food selection was vibrant and flavorful, and the cocktails were tasty. I was however disappointed in the atmosphere *despite it being below a hotel as I am aware*, it did feel like we were in the middle of a hotel lobby as opposed to a stylish modern industrial whiskey bar as we had anticipated. Our server was kind but inattentive.

Inside Loews first floor hotel, 10:15p on a Thursday kitchen still open. Ordered Burger w blu cheese & fries. Cooked medium, juicy & delicious. Service to lobby area seating was fast & friendly.

I actually really like the food and drink at bank and bourbon. The service is awful. I have been twice and both times had a terrible experience. The first time I went I sat and at the bar and the person behind the bar left. No big deal, but it took a long time for literally anyone to get back behind the bar. And then randomly there were suddenly 4 people behind the bar. When I wanted to pay my check again no one was there. I waited for a while until finally an employee happened to be around me and I flagged him down. I went early for happy hour so it wasn't crowded or anything. The second time I went we were seated at a table. The server gave us water and then didn't come back. We tried waiting but after a long while I flagged down another random employee asking if we could order. Meanwhile it took us a while to flag anyone down because anyone who did happen to appear kept walking past our table fast avoiding looking at us. When we wanted the check again we couldn't find anyone. During this instance there were two bartenders the whole time but since we didn't order from the bar I didn't want to disturb them. I loved the cheese board both times. The drinks were good. I just found it to be extremely difficult to order, close out, or anything similar.

Had eggs benedict with rolled pork (which is supposed to be local.) I don't understand the name because it was flat not rolled. Food and coffee very good. I had tomato juice but too warm. Server Airee was great and got me ice to chill the juice. Excellent choice for breakfast and I am certain other meals should be great. Only negative was after the meal, I looked from someone at the hotel to tell me how to use the lavatory. The front desk was busy and no one was at concierge. It took quite a while. Forgot one egg had a firm yolk and not runny like the other one.

Great experience with a colleague! Secret service was in full force due to a presidential candidate apparently in the building. Food and drinks were spot on. Highly recommended!

The food at Bank and Bourbon was very good. I went with a coworker for lunch during Restaurant Week. It was $20 for an entree and dessert. A good deal! The hostess was welcoming and seated us quickly. Water glasses were filled immediately and bread was brought to the table. The bread was very good. The server also greeted us quickly. The restaurant has modern decor. It is quite busy at lunch but wasn't loud. The menu had 3 entree choices and 2 dessert choices. The arugula salad with asparagus, peas and a mint dressing along with a decent piece of salmon was delicious. The salad was chilled but the salmon was perfectly warmed. My coworker had the steak and fries which were also very good. The portions were a good size without being overwhelmingly large. We had to take our desserts to go so we could get back to work. The chocolate cake was a large piece. It was delicious. The butterscotch cheesecake was extremely small even though the 2 men next to us had pieces that were double the size. The server did exchange the piece for a larger one.

August 10 2023 - 4 for dinner. I am just disappointed to even be posting this review other than to say the hospitality business in Philly is in deep trouble if a flagship hotel like this has staff and management that is this out of touch with the norms and expectations of the general public let along at an 'upscale' hotel chain like Loews. I don't have many 1 star reviews, usually I just delete the pictures and try to forget the whole experience. BUT maybe Bank and Bourbon can take some feedback, make some changes, lead and manage their way out of this?? OR until then another Yelper can avoid my mistake.......its why I post reviews in the first place. The service at the bar and then at the restaurant was simply abysmal. I felt like we were to 'blame' for these folks having to actually come to work and do something? Not chronologically millennials but the attitude and attention to the diners was totally absent. Like govt workers? On a Thursday night it was almost empty to boot except one large group. The costs and resulting wine portions were almost insulting for the labels and cellars being consumed. Same with with the martini and mixed beverages. It was like 4x the cost of the already outrageous PA LCB wholesale costs...... So a double negative - EXPENSIVE and PITFUL service. When the disjointed 4 entrees eventually all arrived the salmon diner was insanely massive (I guess to justify the price) and the Amish Half chicken was also very large. Honestly BOTH meals were well cooked and tasted good mostly. But our experience there was already ruined by tracking down wait staff and getting orders straitened out, trying to order drinks, even have our first drink order taken?? We almost left TWICE and should have gone the FIRST time we thought we should have??? Oddly we had multiple different salads and entrees that had the same mustard style dressing? My wife's TROUT with cipollini onions, haricot verts, baby arugula, caper-brown butter had the same mustard tasting dressing as my BRUSSEL SPROUTS SALAD with cranberries, pecans, held the fog goat cheese, champagne vinaigrette dressing that was also heavily mustard flavered??? I actually did NOT go around the corner to Vedge one of my favorite restaurants in the country up there with PerCe, Bouchon, French Laundry, Le Bec Fin, etc etc. and had friends come to the Lowes for the easy parking and the fact that we were staying there???? I am a Lifetime Titanium Elite with Marriott brands and opted NOT to stay there across the street for LESS money per night because of my status and 40 years of staying with them. This was my second stay with Loews Hotels in my 40 years of travel. I have never eaten at a brand restaurant hotel that was this bad with service? Our guest couple own/have owned multiple/ restaurants in Bucks County and a currently a major Wedding venue as well. They were shocked. What a mistake and disappointment.

Pretty good overall!…read more Considerably big space for Philly. They had an upstairs too but I am not sure why it wasn't open during majority of the night. When the big crowd from the conference left they opened the upstairs. The Mac and cheese is SO GOOD. Very creamy and rich, the bread crumbs were an amazing surprise edition. This fatty finished it before the beer came. Lots of beer choices. I took off a start be size they were under staffed. So we were just waiting around for the check and the waitress kept forgetting what we asked for. Honestly, not her fault. There were like ~100 people and only 3 employees that I saw. So no designated waiter for tables. These poor 3 employees were the bartenders and the table waiters.

My wife had the crispy chicken sandwich which was really good. The crust was crunchy and the chicken was tender and juicy. I had the porchetta sandwich which was recommended by our waiter and was SO DELICIOUS! It is a must! At first my wife was concerned about the limited menu. They may not have an extensive menu but what they do, they do right! Our waiter was really great and very welcoming, especially as we were from out of town. The place has a rustic vibe which fits with its old town location. We loved it! If we ever find ourselves back in Philly, we will definitely visit Glory again!

So unholy for a Mac and cheese lover like myself... but it was too acidic for me. I couldn't keep eating it. So I'm basing this review solely on the food. The service seemed ok? On a whim, I called Butcher Bar and told them I know it's last minute on a Saturday night, but could they accommodate 9 people. They told me if we were there in 30 minutes they could make it work, so we rushed over. We sat at the bar for drinks as they cleaned up a table. They overheard us talking about how The Trough would be nice (feeds 8 for $300, but was more than enough for us 9), and said if we wanted that they could get it started as the table was prepared. We said yes, and were sat a few minutes later with drinks in hand. Jenna (Gema? She had grape earrings) was a fantastic server and just so kind and attentive. She kept the drinks flowing and The Trough arrived sooner than I expected and was everything I wanted for dinner and more. I can't thank Butcher Bar enough for saving the night for my 40th and just providing a fantastic experience. We'll be back, and we promise to give more notice next time! :)
