Veal
Justin B.

Absolutely delicious! Went to this place before a show. Super hard to park in this area. Small menu that makes it easy. My wife got the sausage sandwich. She said it was similar to Gaul's wit wizkowski. I tried a bite and it was so good but I didn't feel the comparison was accurate. I got the veal and man was it good. Veal was $32 but Veal is always pricey. Both got side salads that were delicious but not filling at all. Small for $7. I was surprised it was so good because it really didn't have much on it. I don't think the decor matches the food. Inside just gives you cheap pizza shop vibes. Digital pop art prints on canvas.

Braised Pork Kimchi Risotto

We got here 5:30pm on Labor day Monday and the bar and first floor were already full. We were the only ones seated on the 2nd floor but that also filled up while we were there! You might want a reservation to play it safe on a busier night. We got a couple beers during the happy hour. There was a nice selection of draft beers! For food, I ordered the braised pork kimchi risotto. It was fantastic! Every bite was so flavorful and a mixture of textures with the soft but chewy rice, the shredded tender pork, and the crunchy peanuts. Generous portion too, I ate half there and saved the other half. (I actually ate it while writing this review!) I also had a bite of the italian pulled pork sandwich which was also incredibly flavorful and the fries had the best crunch. This is a can't-miss kind of place! We'll definitely be back soon.

Caesar salad

Undoubtedly the best food in Fairmount (I know there isn't a ton but still, the point stands true). One time I had 3 dirty martinis and each was executed perfectly which is really telling of the consistency & I'll never do that again but it was fun in the moment. Also has great beer selection. Food wise the Caesar salad is amazing, the wings are insane, the bread & butter and the fries are both delish. My boyfriend & I have split that combo more than once and always leave super happy. He also likes the meatloaf which is rogue imo but he wanted me to say that. Sorry this pic is weird

I can't believe it took me so long to check out this establishment! Great restaurant/bar in Fairmount that's walking distance to Eastern State Penitentiary. I highly recommend making reservations. I came here with a group and they were able to accommodate and seat us upstairs. We ordered the Carangi Rustic Bread and Srircha Buffalo Wings for the table. The bread was addicting with the honey butter and sea salt. So simple yet so delicious. The wings were cooked to perfection and had a unique flavor profile especially paired with the bonito umami filled ranch. For entrees, I tried the house salad and cheeseburger. Both deserve a 10/10! The salad was very tasty and I wouldn't change one thing about it. The burger is something I could eat every week if possible. Loved all the condiment pairings with this. Great spot with great service!

For sure want to come back for the sausage roll. That looked like the best thing on the menu, but unfortunately they had run out on the day that I visited. With that being said, I ordered a burger and wings and both hit the spot. The place was pretty crowded, but service was fast regardless and it had a friendly and sociable ambiance

Thursday night Swine chop of the night

One of my favorite local neighborhood spots, and a true gem. What I love most is the rotating menu, which keeps things exciting and gives you something new to look forward to every week: Sunday: Steak Night Monday: Meatloaf & Martinis Tuesday: Pasta Night Wednesday: Wine & Cheese Thursday: Cider & Swine The service at the bar is always top-notch. You'll often find one of the "Bad Brothers" (Nick or CJ) behind the bar, which really adds a personal touch to the experience. The food is consistently fantastic. Every night offers something different, and the quality never disappoints. The ambiance is great as well, though be prepared to wait for a seat at the bar, especially on busy nights--this just speaks to how popular and delicious the food is.

Loved this place The pork was tender and perfectly cooked, the burger was delicious, and the wings were fall-off-the-bone good. The espresso martini was excellent, and the beer selection was on point. Can't wait to come back.

Pretty good overall!…read more Considerably big space for Philly. They had an upstairs too but I am not sure why it wasn't open during majority of the night. When the big crowd from the conference left they opened the upstairs. The Mac and cheese is SO GOOD. Very creamy and rich, the bread crumbs were an amazing surprise edition. This fatty finished it before the beer came. Lots of beer choices. I took off a start be size they were under staffed. So we were just waiting around for the check and the waitress kept forgetting what we asked for. Honestly, not her fault. There were like ~100 people and only 3 employees that I saw. So no designated waiter for tables. These poor 3 employees were the bartenders and the table waiters.

They aren't lying when they say that they have an extensive beer menu! I had a Dancing Gnome Kolsch which was very good and then a Corsendork Christmas Ale which was fantastic! I normally don't like spiced beer, but this one was perfect! My wife and I shared the cheese and salumi plate which was so delicious! My only re is not getting the large! My wife had the crispy chicken sandwich which was really good. The crust was crunchy and the chicken was tender and juicy. I had the porchetta sandwich which was recommended by our waiter and was SO DELICIOUS! It is a must! At first my wife was concerned about the limited menu. They may not have an extensive menu but what they do, they do right! Our waiter was really great and very welcoming, especially as we were from out of town. The place has a rustic vibe which fits with its old town location. We loved it! If we ever find ourselves back in Philly, we will definitely visit Glory again!

Food: 4 Drinks: 5 Service: 4 Value: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Food: Surprisingly good. We shared the chicken quesadilla. It was filled to the filled to the brim and delicious. They cooked it perfectly with the edges getting extra crispy like a tortilla chip. I didn't have high expectations for a place thats primarily a bar, but this blew me away all things considered. Drinks: Best taproom in the city. 20+ premium options. They have an awesome selection of beers, including some local options. They have wine and liquor too, but you should focus on the beer. This is the place to go for a good draught. Service: Servers are friendly and down to earth. They're great at suggesting different beers. Value: Not cheap, but not bad. Beers are $8-10 (pretty much market price in the West Village) and food is a decent bargain given how much food you get. Atmosphere: Its a cross between an old school pub and a sports bar. Its dark and 90% male (my wife always comments on how male heavy it is) but I think it has a good vibe. Good beer, good food options, and friendly servers.

The crowd is pretty young, but as a mid-40s, I don't feel out of place. The bartenders are knowledgable and always helpful in making decisions. Why they didn't get 5-stars: This is actually a 4.5-star place and only gets dinged 1/2 star is that is can be hard to get a table or a spot to be. It's a very small venue, so be prepared to stand around a bit. That's it, great beers, good vibes, still a great spot!!!
