What is up with the raving reviews yet only 4 stars?! My goodness, this is one of the best Italian restaurants that I've ever visited! Mind you, I understand they don't have risotto, ossobucco, and some other exvellent Italian staples, but man do they make up for it with abundance, price, and quality, The linguini with prosciutto is one of the best I've had. The fresh bread to start with garlic confit also paired well with our appetizers of prosciutto and carpaccio. Thankfully this was found on accident as it's walking distance from our hotel, so we're reserving our spot for tomorrow and will come prepared with our bottle of wine. This is a BYOB establishment. They do not have any alcohol on the premises but do not charge a cork fee. It's a true family run business, which is my go to back home so I'm so THRILLED to have stumbled on this wonderful establishment. I'd give 10 stars if I could! Don't walk here, RUN! read more

It's very small and cozy, which gives it a really homey vibe, though it can feel a little cramped when it's full.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We even got to meet Giorgio, who was very kind and welcoming. The bread was delicious (I just wish it had been a little warmer). For appetizers, we ordered the Caprese salad, which was really fresh and tasty. For my main dish, I got the lobster ravioli from the specials menu, and it was absolutely worth it and I highly recommend it! One thing to note is that the food leans a little on the salty side, but overall everything was really flavorful and very filling. I wish I had more room in my stomach to keep eating. Giorgio on Pine might be my favorite Italian restaurant in Philly. Given that the city is FILLED with local authentic Italian spots, this is a huge title to carry. They have a large menu of pasta and poultry dishes, but the magic is in their rotating specials. If you have an opportunity to try the sweet potato gnocchi, take it. We got an order for the table! It's BYOB, and they provide glasses and ice buckets. Everything from the complimentary bread and garlic oil, to the pasta dishes and the desserts a truly perfect. This might be the best italian food I've ever had! It was truly incredible! They started by bringing us complimentary bread and a garlic olive oil to eat with it? The bread had the perfect buttery flavor. Next, we ordered the Grilled Caesar Salad and it was also delicious. It did come warm which was interesting for a salad but makes sense considering it was grilled. I was not expecting it to be wedge style, but no complaints. For the main course, I ordered the Gnocchi and added chicken and LOVED it! I still can't stop thinking about their tomato basil sauce. My mom ordered the Parmesan Cheese Crusted Chicken Breast and liked it, but said my dish was far better. The restaurant seemed like a local, hole-in-the-wall, if you know you know, type spot. As a tourist, I never would have found it on my own without a local friend's recommendation. They got busy for the dinner rush but accommodated us without a recommendation, which was greatly appreciated! They had great service, from being seated to being served. Something that I thought was unique about the restaurant was that it is BYOB. Intimate Italian restaurant not far from the Kimmel Center. We came her for dinner before our show. Great Italian BYOB spot! I had the lobster ravioli which was delicious and came with nice and crisp, not overcooked, vegetables like grape tomatoes and asparagus. The bolognese and veal special were good too. I was also quite tempted by the linguine with clams so that will be for another day! We also really liked the olive oil with garlic and herbs they brought out with the bread at the beginning. Didn't have room for dessert but the tiramisu the table next to us ordered looked fantastic. The ambiance is casual and tables are packed a little tight but not too uncomfortably so. It is quite loud though so it did take a bit of shouting to hear each other even across the table. My friend and I decided to check out this Italian BYOB spot since it seemed popular, but I left the meal wanting more. We came here with a dinner reservation, and upon arrival it was quite busy inside, so would rec reserving vs. walk-ins. On the bright side though, there's also another Giorgio on Pine II that's down the block, if this one is busy. Inside, the ambiance is casual, loud, and cozy - the tables are packed a bit tight. It took us some time to place our order and the food also took a while to come out, but the place was also bustling so it's understandable. The food is where I was disappointed - I wanted more flavor. For appetizer, we ordered the sauteed calamari, which was surprisingly bland. We had to add in black pepper just to get some kind of seasoning. Then we ordered the clam linguine, only for it to be extra salty. We ended with their special, which was a parmesan crusted pork chop in tomato sauce, served with potatoes and spinach, which saved the meal a bit. The pork was tender, and the portion size was generous. Overall, maybe I should've ordered their gnocchi or ravioli, which I later found out that's what they're more known for, but based on these three dishes, I was left wanting more. read more

I can't help myself, but had to post an updated review. I was at Giorgio last night to celebrate my birthday. I wish I knew the waitresses name, I've had her before, she's wonderful. And as mentioned last time - appetizer + 2 pasta entrees + dessert for $72 (before tip). As someone who's gone to many restaurants and spent upwards of $150 for a meal of 2 (that isn't even as good or satisfying or enjoyable), Giorgio BYOB is just unbeatable. Going to start this off with clearing up that we were in Giorgio on Pine II (which is right next door, owned by the same man, and has either a similar or identical menu!) I took my partner here for their birthday since they LOVE the main restaurant, but I honestly prefer the atmosphere of Giorgio on Pine II and they've never been. It's much smaller than the main restaurant, and has a more intimate feel. The server, Giovanni, is a sweetheart and took amazing care of us! The food here is truly out of this world. You get some garlic confit and bread to start, but we also ordered the burrata salad (a special menu item, so if you wanna try get there ASAP!) which was so fresh and delicious. We both got spaghetti dishes, mine had veggies in a vodka sauce. They got pancetta and marinara. The serving sizes are huge! Neither of us finished our dishes, but we were also making sure to leave room for dessert. For dessert we split the best tiramisu I've ever had and a cappuccino. And in true italian fashion we enjoyed our meal over the course of two and a half hours. We did not feel rushed at all, we enjoyed our wine and talked all evening in the beautiful restaurant. Smelling the dishes cooked in the open kitchen and enjoying our night out together. If you have a special occasion or looking for an elevated date night this is the spot to do it. We've been twice with some friends and always leave so full, and a little drunk on our wine lol we've tried a little bit of everything, considering my husband is a vegetarian and I'm not. The food is amazing, will definitely come back again. Finding parking can be a huge pain but we always eventually find something. The restaurant is small, so you're very close to other tables but not that much of a bother. We had a late reservation for our big group, and they have you order all your food at once which is odd but our server was kind of rude about it and we told him we were going to order a bunch of things and share them all and he was defensive saying we all needed at least one entree, then changed his tune a bit when we ordered pretty much the whole menu. The food was all absolutely delicious, but takes a ridiculous amount of time to come out. It was an hour and a half into our reservation and we hadn't received our entrees. I do understand it's a smaller place and everything is likely made from scratch, but I wasn't impressed by the service. Tip is built into the bill which I'm sure is why the waitstaff doesn't care much about being friendly but that's the reason for 4 stars. Were seated upon arrival and immediately gave us wine glasses so we could relax with a glass of wine as we looked at the menu. They had a special menu featuring some of their best dishes and we resisted not to taste everything. The prosciutto plate with mozzarella and melon was very nice which complemented well the burrata with arugula, roasted red peppers and balsamic glaze. We also sampled their lobster bisque (not in the shot) which was delectable with their soft bread. Despite our outrageous appetizer spread, we somehow managed to still find space for the entrees. The lobster ravioli is one of my go-to dishes whenever it's   available so I knew right off I was ordering it. As always the blush sauce was delicious and the portion of lobster in the ravioli was really generous. We also had the veal special with lump crab meat, spinach and potatoes. It was also both our first time to eat veal and it didn't let us down! The cut was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was super tender and the crab meat on top was a great touch to tie it all together. read more

It's a very small space and it's also bring your own wine. I didn't realize that or else, I would've brought some. But the staff was nice enough to give us the rest of a left over bottle of white wine. My pasta was delicious, but the tiramisu was worth bragging about. I would give the service a 0 if I could. Just had a horrible experience at this location. Waited over 30 minutes to even check in for a 6pm reservation and with one man cutting the line and getting sat immediately. Another couple started complaining to the host about their 6:15 reservation and he ran to Giorgio on Pine 1 to find a table for them. When the couple said no they (my party of 2) had a 6:00 reservation give them the table, the host said no I'm helping you out sir and ignored us completely. Actually, our server was celiac and explained that the gf food is cooked separately, so I felt comfortable with the preparation. Ambiance is typical cozy Italian restaurant vibes. It's BYO so would be fun in the future to bring wine! They brought out some gluten free bread slices which were small and kind of lame, but the olive oil was delicious. The caprese was overwhelming to me since the tomatoes were underripe and it came with spinach instead of fresh basil. The gf pasta primavera was standard and tasty. I'd come back for cozy vibes and the knowledge that this place is safe for celiacs but it wasn't a life changing meal by any means. read more

We really loved our meal at Giorgio on Pine. We had two young kids with us, and they were really accommodating and friendly (we went on the early side). They have high chairs and booster seats and brought our toddler cheese and melon while waiting for our entrees. I loved the oil with roasted garlic for the bread, and the burrata was excellent. For entrees, we shared a ravioli and the special of the day - a huge, delicious pork chop with some of the best mushrooms I've ever had. We had my son's rehearsal dinner here a couple weeks ago and it was absolutely fantastic! Giorgio stopped by multiple times to make sure we were happy. Our server was Susan and she took the greatest care of us! Offering up suggestions and sharing special insight to the menu.
