I personally would order this as my meal if I could. room temp, oily, good crunch to soft ratio. Judion Beans: good beans. they are on a similar wavelength as butter beans. honestly I get them for the table for the extra bowl of oil at the bottom to dip the crusts in. Creamy Oregano Salad: very interesting. small shaves of mushroom and fennel. very slight bitter taste. oddly addictive. the olives were my favorite part. i'd consider these friendly olives to those suspicious of olives. and the olives are cut in halves, so easy to pick out. so are the mushrooms. easy split for a table of four. beyond that i'd get two. *ADD ON* pickled chilies: very good. I suggest adding this to the pie. they are green, spicy, delicious, absolutely lovely. Corn Pizza: all together very delicious. my favorite part are the cherry tomatoes on top, which I would really like to be an add on option to other pies. they are the perfect flavor and size. i'm not particularly a tomato fan, especially whole. these are a rare exception. Classic Pizza?: solid, no notes. good as always. My only wish is that they offered a sauce to dip my crust in. they have very good crust, perfect ration of crispy and fluffy. just needs a sauce. Overall, great service, the manager greeted us to check on our meal, our server was attentive, the vibe is great inside. read more

Solid pizza spot that's consistently very good! Pizzeria Beddia has been a Philly staple for years now, and it always hits. The interior is super hip and trendy! Our server was friendly and food came out hot and fast! Apps: Maitake Burrata and the Lettuce Shaved Veg salad - The salad was decent, but nothing to write home about. Would skip. first of all - LOVED this pizza. the corn pizza was incredible and i raved about it to my friends. the employees were all really friendly as well - had great interactions and they were able to guide us in terms of wait times, what to expect, and menu recommendations. my gripe is mostly with the reservation system, and the wait times. there were open reservations available online, but in reality they were running an hour behind. for example if we grabbed a 9:30 reservation, the hosts let us know that we'd be seated around 10:30 which is nuts. seems like something that could use a lot of tweaking. we ended up getting our food as takeout, and it took 30+ min for our two pizzas to come out. i know this is a popular spot, but it gets to a point lol. it was also really stuffy in their waiting area, it was giving cow corral with all the guests waiting for their late reservations or late food. looked nice inside though! next time i'll return if it's at a less popular time! read more

I think Pizzeria Beddia is a perennial 4-star damn good spot. The entire staff is very friendly and super knowledgeable about the menu and wine list and the ambiance is clean and always feels alive. Makes it a great spot for a pizza date night. The pizzas absolutely are the star and they care about the quality that they put out. I've never had a pizza that wasn't within their consistent standard. The corn pizza, when in season, is a stunner and a reason to go on its own. The small plates are all delicious and if you like wine, the list they have is really strong always. All of the above said, every single time I go I see the bill and I say to myself, "oh that was a little more than I thought it was going to be." Has it stopped me from going back? No! And I don't think it should be a deterrent, but good to keep in mind. Like I said, the food is so great and the staff is as well. As a whole package, though? 4-stars! read more

It has been quite a while since I've been to Beddia, but they never disappoint. We walked in without a reservation on a Tuesday night with hopes of being seated (Philly is still covered in snow, so our hopes were high) and got a nice little table in the corner right away. The hostess took our coats (a nice touch!) and then a rotation of two servers explained the specials and we ordered. I love that the menu is on the shorter side and they rotate the pizza offerings, so even if you're visiting on a regular basis, you'll always be able to try something new. Additionally, when a menu is only about 2 pages, you know everything on those two pages is top notch, as was the case at Pizzeria Beddia. This evening we got the meatballs (didn't take a photo, was too excited, but they were HUGE and excellent) and the beef, pork and veal balls with a rich red sauce was outstanding. Came in an order of 2 but one was plenty for each of us. The Pizza we got had potatoes on it, and we added sausage per the servers recommendation, and it was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors blended so well together. I have had this restaurant on my wish list for a while and I'm happy to finally cross it off my list. Unfortunately, this restaurant just did not meet my expectations. Since Philly has a significant amount of pizza restaurants and specifically wood wire pizzerias, this just fell below the bar of the other restaurants like Stina and Pizzeria Stella. While I love a good wood fired pizza, the crust here was a bit too thin for my liking and a bit over cooked. The indoor tables were well spaced and it was clean and modern on the inside. They had covered outdoor seating and were dog friendly. This seems like a fine neighborhood pizza parlor, but I just think there's better options with more interesting selections. As someone who bought Pizzacamp back in 2020, finally stepping foot inside was a long time coming (& had to be during corn pizza season specifically). The corn pizza was even better than I imagined. I'm also not sure how to explain it but some of the most delicious bites were the impatient, burn the roof of your mouth, initial bites. The flavor changed as it cooled but I enjoyed every bite, at every stage along the way. The og pizza, the tried and true, was also delicious. It's a gorgeous space, with the dreamiest lighting in the dining room area. It does however get very loud once it's full, so it did get a bit more difficult to chat as the evening went on. Some of the tables are tiny and closely placed together so I felt like I was a part of the first date happening next to me. While I might choose another place for takeout, when the goal is a night of pizza, wine, great atmosphere, and authentic neighborhood vibes, this is usually where we end up. The space is bright, industrial, airy, and thoughtfully designed but unforced. White walls, warm wood, considered lighting, and a floor plan with real breathing room. The vibe recalls Bucktown, Wicker Park, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint: design-forward but genuinely local. There's a great bar, and booths near the kitchen with glass windows that let you watch the staff. Our three-year-old was mesmerized, and the staff was warm and playful, smiling and waving while they cooked. A small detail, but memorable. The crowd feels local. We usually order the chicories caesar with grana padano and breadcrumbs, and the lettuce salad with shaved vegetables and creamy oregano dressing. A note on bringing kids: I don't think this is a family restaurant, but if your kids are curious and well-behaved, it's absolutely worth bringing them earlier in the evening. We've gone around 4:30 or 5:00 on weekends and always felt comfortable. One time, our daughter had a full meltdown, and we were mortified, but the staff couldn't have been cooler. They packed everything to go, kindly and without any judgment. That kind of grace is hard to fake, and it genuinely stuck with us. Pricing is fair for the quality of the food and the experience. Places like this can seem overrated or overpriced, but this one doesn't. It offers real value for a memorable night out. During our short term stay in Philadelphia before we move into our new house, we have been pelted with social media content about Philly food options and Pizzeria Beddia came up again and again. Since we've been enjoying all of the pizza we've had so far in Philly, we went there tonight and: yes, it absolutely lives up to the hype. We ordered the lettuce salad and the tomato pie and the former was peppery and brine-y and crunchy and the pizza was pretty perfect - the sauce, cheese, and crust were all amazing, they just got everything right. (We got ours with mushrooms.) It's a thin crust pizza with a slightly charred crust, but was not in the least bit soggy like other thin pizzas we've had. The space is light and bright and airy and my only issue is that it's quite loud - like Picnic, it's the type of place for a large lively party, much less suited for a quiet intimate meal. read more

I am usually a pepperoni kinda gal but this time we decided to try the special - a delicious combo of broccoli, smoked paprika and grana creme, lemon preserve, royer mountain. Don't be afraid of the hard looking alley you have to head down to get to this hidden gem. Before I tell ya about the food, let me tell you, Connor made this experience top notch and just a fun, great experience. We went with just a plain old pepperoni pizza but it was a step above a great pepperoni pizza. Great portion size on the pizza and it will easily feed 3-4 people. Large slices and even larger pepperoni to clog your arteries. So good and so worth it! We also tried the tonewood "freshies" pale ale. Very fruit forward and fragrant bouquet finish. Liked it, but wouldn't order another. The ploughman "the birdwatcher" dry cider with peach was fantastic. Not as dry as you would think which was nice because I lean more on the sweet side selection. I came here the other evening as I was visiting Philly for the weekend, and it was so good. I'd highly recommend making a reservation, as this place can get quite packed. The space is really pretty with lots of natural light, warm woods and earth tones. The menu is simple and straightforward with their pizzas being the star of the show. Okay...I love Beddia. I don't know why it took me so long to get here but I am now a complete convert. Delicious pizza, kind service, gorgeous environment with cozy outdoor seating and a posh bar/dining room setup. Tampa Bay CM Sky was in town visiting and we hit this spot prior to heading to a show at the Fillmore. This is a GREAT course of action if you're in the neighborhood for a show! Beddia is the ultimate family friendly, "see someone you haven't seen in awhile" watering hole that still feels chic - a hard combo to master. We went with the vegetable pizza and some caesar veggies. I think we both expected the veg to come warm but it is a cold salad style dish. Not my favorite but an interesting menu addition. The pizza is the shining star here of course. We split one and were unable to finish it - so a little will go a long way here. Perfect thin crust, high quality ingredients, highly creaveable. I am shocked by how amazing everything was from the ambiance of the seating area, which was super clean and bright, to the absolutely phenomenal quality of the pizza ingredients. Their cheese pizza was as perfect as cheese pizza can get having a think crispy crust that provides a good mouth feel while accompanying the cheese and tomato sauce which may be the best pizza sauce I have ever tasted. Their special pizza was a potato pizza with charred scallions and I honestly was very unsuspecting of this one but they immediately loved me wrong.
