The Carla and one happy West Coast customer.

If you are an EddienChooch social media follower you might have seen owner, Angelo give a shout out to PCF in honor of Chooch passing and donated a funeral pizza to Dog Alley doggy care where Chooch went for his own little vacations while Eddie and Fam were away. I knew I was coming to Philly for work so I messaged Angelo to see if there a Chooch pizza and cheesteak and Angelo wrote back and said no but the fact he answered made me want to come more so made it a point to come and give them some business. I got there just before the storms hit. Staff was real nice and i decided on the Carla because I have noticed that sweet and hot peppers are a thing, just not on cheesesteaks but on pizzas. Their menu is not overwhelming and love how they offer pizzas other than with the traditional red sauce. There are 3 options for white. sauce. The pizza is made when you order and it place in an oven to bake and not through some high degree conveyer belt. It came out quick and then just as I was about to head out catch an Lyft it started to down pour. Staff suggested I eat there, but I had somewhere to be by 6. Got back the hotel and chowed down. I'm not a big thin (what I consider to be thin) crust but this was just right and the flavor of the pizza was excellent, not too cheesy over saucy and the hot honey and whole hot pepper made great touch. I couldn't eat the whole thing in one sitting, so i put the left overs in the refrigerator and I ate the rest on my flights home. Go give this small business your business when you are there.

Good pizza shop with options to BYOB. They only offer slices during the week but their 12 inch pie is small enough for a hungry person to devour if need be. I ordered the Carson which comes with fresh portobello mushrooms and vidalia onions on a garlic butter aioli which all paired perfectly. This is a BYOB establishment so think about what your prefect bev would be and bring it along. Anthony was very knowledgeable and helped me solidify my choice and answered all my questions. We also ordered their pepperoni which is actually soppressata and although I didn't try the meat, the red sauce and cheese was great as well. This is a must stop when in Philly

Ordered the Paulie and the Vinny. Extremely good pizza both pizza's are at least a 8/10. Staff and workers were very kind and helpful. Would go again

This is a great pizza venue that represents Philly well. Their pizzas are fresh and made to order. The staff is helpful with providing recommendations and taking orders. Our pizza did not take too long to make considering we were walk-ins. The location is in a lively part of the city, but lacks indoor seating. We managed to get a table outside their front door. But it was August and indoor seating with a/c would have been nice.

Very good! I got a small pepperoni (soppressata), it was exactly what I wanted for a a coal fire/brick oven type of pizza. Very crispy, and a unique (delicious) taste from the sauce and cheese. It's a little pricey, but what I expected for the location. Only thing would've made it better is a fountain soda. I want to try it with ricotta next time.

Was able to get parking right out front at lunchtime and the place is clean, bright and cozy. The host was gracious and helpful. The food was exactly what we were wanting and the portion for two with a light to medium appetite was perfect at 12". The taste amazing - from the toppings to the beautifully crisped edges. Recommend if you're in the area.

Pepperoni pizza

First time here and one of the best pizzas I have ever had. Great customer service and nice and clean environment.

I can only speak about the delivery I received. The pizza had quality ingredients, but I'm not a fan of the burnt crust (even though I know it's the style). I do love how you can create your pizza, and if you need more options, don't worry--they have a bunch of shop creations on the menu. From what I recall, they are cash only unless you're ordering through a delivery service. Great spot just wish the pizzas were larger for the price!

Cool little pizza shop, no frills just pizza! Can create your own or order from menu. Pepperoni is large and thinly sliced. Pesto was AMAZING, best part of the pizza!

FOOD ~Fresh I came in around 12:30 p.m. and ordered the Angelo Pizza, which is basically the classic cheese. The cheese had a good pull and had good browning. The sauce was tangy and flavorful, and I wish there was more of it. The crust crisped up nicely at the rims and the base, and I think there's a brushing of garlic/Italian seasoning oil atop the pie, which added a punch of flavor. Keep in mind that if you are ordering fresh, there is a wait time of at least 15-20 minutes. There was only one other customer when I came in, and I waited about 18 minutes to receive my order, so if it's busy, I would imagine the wait time to be about 30+ minutes. ~Frozen The restaurant sells frozen pizzas of their classic Angelo Pizza at the same cost as their fresh pie ($16.00). DRINKS Bottled drinks are available at the register. AMBIANCE The interior is clean and modern. There are a couple of tables lining the walls of the store and some counter seating at the front. SERVICE The staff here is kind and friendly. The owner actively participates as a cashier and makes pizzas alongside his staff while simultaneously striking up conversations with his customers, so it's quite a cozy atmosphere. The place is an attraction due to the Barstool pizza review, and customers often ask about it. PARKING Street parking is available at a limited capacity.

I really wish they would put garlic bread in their menu because I would be here more often! Maybe something for Paulie to consider? I had the Mootz pizza, it was so immaculate that I had a dream about it today... a whopping 449 days after I had that pizza. I searched through a dozen pizza shops on Yelp and looked through pics of their interiors before I was able to figure out that it was Paulie Gee's that I ate at so I could write this review. I'm not a cheese pizza guy, but I can appreciate a really good one. If you enjoy a quality cheese pull (IYKYK) and garlicky goodness then get the Mootz... in fact get 2 bc that one slice is going to be gone way too fast. If I'm EVER in Philly again I'm bee-lining (or is it v-lining?) straight to Paulie Gee's to get 2 slices of the Mootz.

While I might choose another place for takeout, when the goal is a night of pizza, wine, great atmosphere, and authentic neighborhood vibes, this is usually where we end up. The space is bright, industrial, airy, and thoughtfully designed but unforced. White walls, warm wood, considered lighting, and a floor plan with real breathing room. The vibe recalls Bucktown, Wicker Park, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint: design-forward but genuinely local. There's a great bar, and booths near the kitchen with glass windows that let you watch the staff. Our three-year-old was mesmerized, and the staff was warm and playful, smiling and waving while they cooked. A small detail, but memorable. The crowd feels local. Good music, friendly people, hip but never pretentious. It's just a fun place to be with great service, too. The food is outstanding. We usually order the chicories caesar with grana padano and breadcrumbs, and the lettuce salad with shaved vegetables and creamy oregano dressing. For pizza, we love the arrabbiata (the Angry pie) and tomato pie with sausage and pickled chilies. My wife enjoys the ice cream. A note on bringing kids: I don't think this is a family restaurant, but if your kids are curious and well-behaved, it's absolutely worth bringing them earlier in the evening. We've gone around 4:30 or 5:00 on weekends and always felt comfortable. One time, our daughter had a full meltdown, and we were mortified, but the staff couldn't have been cooler. They packed everything to go, kindly and without any judgment. That kind of grace is hard to fake, and it genuinely stuck with us. Pricing is fair for the quality of the food and the experience. Places like this can seem overrated or overpriced, but this one doesn't. It offers real value for a memorable night out. The whole restaurant feels like a microcosm of Philadelphia's progressive, creative side. There's real ambition behind it, but it still feels human and grounded, nothing sterile, nothing corporate, nothing over-engineered. Just smart people building a cool neighborhood place that others actually want to spend time in. Oh, and make a reservation. Great spot, Joe. We'll be back soon. Thank you!

The hostess took our coats (a nice touch!) and then a rotation of two servers explained the specials and we ordered. I love that the menu is on the shorter side and they rotate the pizza offerings, so even if you're visiting on a regular basis, you'll always be able to try something new. Additionally, when a menu is only about 2 pages, you know everything on those two pages is top notch, as was the case at Pizzeria Beddia. This evening we got the meatballs (didn't take a photo, was too excited, but they were HUGE and excellent) and the beef, pork and veal balls with a rich red sauce was outstanding. Came in an order of 2 but one was plenty for each of us. The Pizza we got had potatoes on it, and we added sausage per the servers recommendation, and it was cooked perfectly and all of the flavors blended so well together. We are so lucky to have an amazing (and nationally recognized!) pizza spot in the neighborhood and it's always nice when you can walk in without a reservation from time to time.

I recommend a party of 3-4 to really maximize your experience. However, this year, we just weren't as hungry, so we did some girl math and decided it would be cheaper to do ala cart. We ordered two of the famous spicy caesar salads (must order!!), a ricotta toast, a White Claw pizza, and a finished off our meal sharing two chocolate budinos. The White Claw is a pretty classic white pizza, mozzarella and swirls of basil pesto; the crust is amazing! It pairs perfectly with the salad. The ricotta toast is decadent and addicting, but a little bit goes a long way. The chocolate budino was outstanding - sweet, with hints of espresso. We won't talk about how I ended up with some of it on my white turtleneck... Service was friendly and QUICK! We ordered, and I swear we had our first dishes in less than 10 minutes. The server was a doll, though I can't recall his name. Downside of Prunella, like anywhere in Center City, is there is no parking. Upside, is you're just a short walk from the 13th St. Septa Station, and you're literally equidistant from Broad and Market streets. Pro-tip: Killer happy hour specials, but only at the bar. Good selection of beverages, if you're into that type of thing. Come hungry, leave happy, and maybe don't wear white.

EXCELLENT LATE-NIGHT STOP! MUST TRY!…read more We walked in about an hour before closing on a Thursday night--never an ideal entrance. You know the look. The polite smile that says "it's fine" while the eyes say "it is absolutely not." Totally understandable. No one loves a near-close order. I even acknowledged it out loud--apologized, explained we weren't from the area, and that we were just trying to grab a quick bite because it was one of the few places still open. She said it was okay. Her face said otherwise. Fair enough. Here's where it turned around. The pizza came out hot, fresh, and legitimately impressive. Not "good for late night" good--just plain good. Every bite was fresh, the ingredients tasted clean, and the pizza clearly hadn't been rushed or phoned in despite the timing. Hunger probably helped, but even factoring that out, this was a standout. Honestly, I was kicking myself for not ordering an extra one to go before leaving the city. That's how good it was. We did try to get drinks, but were told the soda machine was down. The nozzles were off, so I'm guessing it was a cleaning/end-of-night thing. I won't ding them for it--though let's be real, tossing nozzles in sanitizer isn't exactly a marathon. Still, not a deal-breaker. Restaurant was clean, but of course, they were near closing. I tipped her a few bucks for staying late, and left genuinely satisfied. Bottom line: the food carried this experience completely. If you're visiting Philadelphia and need a reliable, fresh, late-night bite, &Pizza is absolutely worth the stop. Sometimes the places you expect the least end up delivering the most. I plan to 100000% return (and it'll probably be near closing time again, too)
