Burger is 10/10. One of the best burgers I can remember recently. I added cooper sharp cheddar and cooked medium - and it came out perfect. I wandered in here while in the area and was a great experience. The bartender was attentive and the food - well, obviously it was incredible! Great experience and highly recommend. read more

I haven't been here since Northern Liberties became a post-hipster ghost town. Back in the day, this restaurant/bar, along with Silk City, were at the vanguard of the bourgeoning Restaurant Rescue scene and passed with flying colors. Now it seemed to be a shell of itself. My waitress spent most the time dancing with the bartender, brought out my friends Moroccan Spiced Lamb Burger about 20 minutes before my own and served me old burnt fries. It seems that when restaurants include automatic gratuities on the check there is little incentive for anyone to try. And the Moroccan Spiced Lamb Burgers were fine, if not nearly as exciting as their name would imply.....just that we were still hungry after our dinners, as the burgers were very small. One expects more than a kids meal and for the staff to behave like children at an establishment like this. read more

Solid. I've only been here twice but both times I enjoyed my meal. The fish was perfectly cooked, as was the risotto. The meal made me feel very warm inside, like that good solid home cooking but elevated at a restaurant level. We went with a party of 4 on a Friday, and the wait was about 40 minutes. We popped over to grab a drink at a local bar and came back. Everyone in my party enjoyed their meal. Definitely a solid neighborhood joint with solid food and drinks , would recommend read more

Meh. Not terrible. The atmosphere is pretty good but the food tends to be average. But the outdoors setting is nice

First of All, THIS Amazing place is Ridiculously Clean and tidy! No worries about being Grossed out! The charm and atmosphere is Very inviting and Lots to Check out. It has many cool Art pieces and some funny things to Appreciate. I knew I wanted to take my husband here even Before we were Married! Such a Cool and relaxing Vibe, we drove into Philly which was close to 35 minutes each direction. All of the Staff were friendly and welcoming. We tried a few appetizers to split since it has been closer to a decade since I've been here. The homemade pierogies, with Caramelized onions ^** chef's Kiss . Omg Spectacular !! We got an order of each of the pound of wings! One pound was Buffalo ((with a Very Nice Kick)) And the Ranch has fresh Dill and carrots and celery were a nice addition. The other pound of wings were their Sweet Thai Chili with chopped Peanuts ontop! No cilantro and both sets of wings, Well done! When I say....... Holy Smokes! I mean, both of these wings knocked our socks Off. delicious!! Compliments to the Chef!! ‍ we have already started planning our Return visit !! We also ordered a side of the Mac n cheese and that just set everything Off. mouthwatering and so flavorful! I was very sad when my ceramic crock was Empty. It has crunchy breadcrumbs ontop and a light garlic taste that's Not overpowering at all. Everything we ate complimented one another. We cannot wait to return and enjoy a full dinner! Today, was just some appetizers and some drinks! Our server was Johnny who was very down to earth and super nice. He encouraged us to walk around and check out the back room and back bar and said they also have a stage! We will definitely be Back Soon! Cannot wait to try more gems from their menu and enjoy our time together! See yall soon! read more

The place feels like a cross between a dive bar and an Irish pub but the food is excellent, which is a thing we're coming to learn about Philly - many of the bars here serve good food. We sat outside with our dog and enjoyed the nonstop dog parade going by. We split the honey apple walnut salad and the fish and chips and both were amazing - fish in particular was tender and flaky with a crispy batter. We also had very good drinks. A lovely dinner on a summer-like evening. read more

It's been awhile since I last returned for a dinner and catch up with friends at north 3rd. Once hard to find parking, now it's pretty easy on a Sunday evening. The neighborhoods have changed! The menu feels a lot smaller but they still offer similar items I ordered before and greatly enjoyed such as the clams or mussels, calamari and steak frites. Atmosphere is still dark, barely able to see your food. The services are excellent and attentive as usual. Highly recommended if you haven't tried yet! read more

Very quaint neighborhood corner restaurant. I've been back a number of times since moving to the neighborhood and I always have a great time. Food/Drinks: The menu is not extremely long and they rotate it with different specials menu on the daily. This restaurant is definitely great for brunch and dinner. I particularly think their brunch is better. Full bar (x2) and can make pretty much any drink you want. Their espresso martini is quite good. Neither expensive or cheap but right in the middle. Environment/Ambience: The interior is larger than it seems with a larger dining area with the bar and a smaller side room with more tables and another bar. The vibe is rustic and moody, especially in the side room, during night but quite festive during the day. They have approximately 4-6 outdoor tables that are slightly covered and heated. Staff is nice and knowledgeable of the menu. Parking can be potentially tough but it's a great spot to walk to if you live nearby! You can also reserve a table! Rating: 7/10 Recommendations: Wings, Espresso Martini read more

4.5 stars here. I wish Yelp would allow fractions. A cute interior. Friendly and laid back space with a handful of booths along the perimeter and tables in the middle. Our server was decent. The menu is not massive but some creative and fresh dishes and a couple daily specials. A handful of craft beer draft options with wine and a full bar. My crab cake sandwich (special) was quite good as was my wife's seasonal salad. Beers were fresh and we were not rushed after finishing our meals. I would gladly return if in the area. read more

I'm so grateful that North Third is my neighborhood spot :) I don't have a single negative thing to say about them. Genuinely good food; every time. Great drinks. Ample space. Awesome employees. I don't go enough honestly. They have good rotating food selection and the muscles , steak , fish , heck everything is good. You really can't go wrong. Dinner and breakfast. I wouldn't steer you wrong. read more

I came here for brunch with my mom, brothers and sister for Mother's Day. The hostess was very kind and helped us with my mom who has trouble walking. Another staff person came over to help us when we were getting into the dining room. Our server, Alyssa, was also very good. She was so pleasant! The food was really good. My sister and I had the apple pie French toast. It was very tasty with a little crunch from the crushed cornflakes. It was dipped in. It had apples, nuts, and whipped cream. I could've used a few more apples because I really like the fruit other than that, it was fantastic. My mom had the breakfast burrito. It was huge and she really enjoyed it. My brother had the apple arugula salad with chicken. That was also very good. I love that they had a couple of choices for mimosas. You could choose from guava, orange juice, peach or mango juice. The guava mimosa was delicious. Some outside seating is available. We sat inside. The decor is unique. The ceiling had bird and butterfly fabric sculptures that were really cool. It had a very relaxed vibe. two gender, neutral bathrooms. read more

Great food and drinks! Happy hour 4-6 with great food specials, and the outdoor seating is awesome when the weather is nice! The Mac and cheese (side) is bomb - usually big enough to split between 2-3 or keep all to yourself! I am not usually a fan of buffalo, but the Buffalo tempura cauliflower is a must. We were a little disappointed with the pierogis and the eggplant fries - both were pretty bland and could've used a little more salt or seasoning. Also a big fan of the fried chicken sandwich! read more

Visited my sister last weekend in Philly. We were looking for brunch options, and based on my Yelp search, this place popped up with great reviews. I made a reservation online, but I'm sure a walk-in would have been fine as well! The hostess was nice. We got seated in the back. Our server, Alyssa, was great. I wanted more lunch food versus breakfast. I got the honey dip chicken sandwich with a generous helping of fries, and it was really good. My sister had the omlette and she enjoyed it. I tried the hibiscus mezcalrita, and it was pretty good. There's a full bar! I like that they change their menu daily! When visiting Philly, I'll come back : ) read more

I had a very OK experience here. The wings were the highlight of the meal. We got both the Thai Chili Wings (7/10) and the Buffalo Wings (7/10) and then it was a bit downhill from there. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles and the chicken as you can see from the pics was mostly breading and on top of that it was burnt to a crisp. The waffle itself was good (7/10) but I was disappointed that I couldn't enjoy them together. Then there was the biscuit debacle. I ordered a side biscuit that never came and when the waiter found out she mentioned she would take it off the bill. Then it finally came and it was burned and borderline inedible. That really was the cherry on top for the meal. I'm not sure that I would be back based on my experience here. read more

North 3rd has been good for two decades. Cocktails are made with care. Fries are excellent. Salads are carefully composed with good ingredients. All those things add up to make a restaurant that is reliably good. Each time I go, I'm reminded of how much I like it and make a note to come more often. I like that they offer outdoor seating. Happy hour deals are good. Beer list is good. I like their burger but I can also go and enjoy a vegetarian meal. The ambience is that of a bustling neighborhood pub. They take reservations but have a lot of seating if you just drop in. It's easy to overlook them for the hot new eatery, but North Third is worth making plans for. read more

I have been to North Third for dinner before (amazing), but this was my first time for brunch - it was equally amazing, maybe even better! I had Bee's Breakfast Croissant. It was amazing. Sometimes a croissant can't hold a sandwich well but this one did. I also didn't realize this came with the gravy fries, which typically at other places I am not a fan of, but here they were delicious. My wife got something else that I can't remember but here's a pic. She liked it too I'm pretty sure since this is on the list for us to return to! The service was very fast and attentive. Never an empty glass waiting for a fresh beer. The ambiance is also one of my favorites. It's the homey bar you've been looking for. As Beyoncé put it - this is "dive bar we always thought was nice", or something of the likes. Love this place. Also this was the first place I have ever had clam chowder that wasn't in a can but that was a couple years ago. Very good stuff. read more

This place is officially a staple and a restaurant I honestly dine at once a week, every week. Food, service, drinks, and ambiance are always consistent and 10/10! I've ordered some new dishes since my last review, including: Traditional French Onion Gratin, Autumn Squash Soup, Old School Salad, Chicken cutlet Parmesan sandwich, Moroccan spiced lamb burger, Seared Jail Island Salmon and Roasted Free Range Chicken Breast. The chicken cutlet parm sandwich and salmon salad were very memorable. You honestly cannot go wrong with any of their food. read more

I stopped in for a quick lil bite and was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. I was told that the Thai wings were really good and opted to try that as well as mussels with red sauce. Let's be clear, I'm a very picky eater when it comes to mussels but these were so good. Even the red sauce, I was so happy it was accompanied with a dinner roll because I was able to dip it in the sauce and enjoy it even more. The wings also didn't disappoint but I was just so shocked at how good the mussels were. The service wasn't bad either. Our waitress was very friendly and even joked around with us a little bit. I really loved the vibe of this restaurant and would totally come back and try it again. read more

I was rejected service as an indigenous American. I presented my tax exemption for which I have consistently used in the past since 2017 at this same location and the new management refused me service. Man, this place was lit when we went for brunch / lunch. I want to go back at nighttime to see what it's like. If I'm thinking of a bar that screams Philly this would be it (I'm sure I haven't been to enough places or been here long enough to say this). Oh also, my chicken and waffles was good, I loved the portion, my date also enjoyed her food! Went back for drinks and it's just great vibes and everyone is super friendly! Note: they charge 20% gratuity so pay attention to your bill, I ended up tipping 40%, my fault not paying attention. I don't think it's fair to give low ratings for that when it's stated on the bill and you just weren't paying attention. read more

If you're looking for a reliable neighborhood spot, North Third is definitely a great option! We've never had a bad experience, and the staff has always been really friendly. Their outdoor seating is super dog-friendly, which is key since we almost always have our dogs with us, and the staff always brings a water bowl immediately. In a time where talent is hard to find in the industry, it's nice to see North Third constantly finding and retaining really nice, outgoing, and attentive staff! The food is consistently tasty, too! Granted, the menu is always changing, so don't fall in love with a single dish if your heart is easily broken by some sexy sandwich special fling that may never return, but we've definitely encountered a few dishes good enough to lure us back in the off chance that one of them will be on that day. Even when a particular craving isn't available, we don't fret, knowing that there's always an excellent alternative on the menu! There's a lot of typical bar food-level offerings, but they also have some unexpected dishes, too. They also have lots of stuff that just hits the spot as the fall and winter weather rolls in. Overall, North Third holds their own with the best of the neighborhood joints. Great staff, tasty food, and perfect for a casual night out! read more

I'll start by saying the service was excellent! Both the host and our server were super nice and professional. I had a wedge salad and it was super good (although it's hard to mess up a wedge salad). The shrimp sandwich was no bueno unfortunately. Too many flavors and they really didn't go together. The fries were great though! The menu is pretty limited (7/2023) so I would check it out beforehand! read more

This is a small but efficient low key spot. I came here in a Sunday afternoon around 4:30pm. They had a mid-day menu which had limited items and a dinner menu which activates at 5pm. I ordered the Cardi P cocktail (yum). I wish it was a larger drinks I felt like I was on a diet drinking it out of a skinny glass. Lol. The burger was perfect. I asked for a well done burger and it came with lettuce, tomato, and red onion. I also asked for a side of Mayo and ketchup. The fries were seasoned just right and everything was served hot. One star was lost due to the limited options on the mid-day menu (only the burger and wings were of interest to me) but otherwise it would have been five stars. Service was really good and the time it took from our order until the time it took for our food to come out was great. read more

I have to start by giving praise to the star of brunch this day which was the crab cake Benedict!!!! WOW!!!! This thing had lump crab cakes and they were not stingy with the crab, spinach, grilled tomatoes (I took them off) , poached eggs, brooch toast, and hollandaise I also had French fries as my side. It was such a delightful plate that I fantasize about it from time to time. My server was great because we had lots of questions about the meal and she answered everything. The other people dining with me got French toast and the verde omelet which had guacamole, 3 eggs, cilantro, scallions, queso fresco, smoked andouille sausage and house fries. This brunch place is a hidden gem and anytime I go back to Philly, I will make it a point to come here! read more

I stopped in for a date night during the week. Uber, lyft or walk if you can. Parking is extremely limited in this area. I made a reservation but there was no wait when we arrived 10 minutes early so we were seated. We sat outside by choice because it was a nice night. Not the best idea because the exhaust from the traffic going by was not that pleasant. Ordering was easy. We choose to skip apps and order drinks and entrees. We ordered the duck and steak and fries. While my steak had a wonderful flavor, it was really chewy and I didn't finish it because I was tire of chewing. The duck and sweet potatoes were a perfect match. My partner really enjoyed the combination. The bill came to about $70 for two which was a little on the high side for the quality of food but understandable for the trendy area. I'd love to return to see what other offerings they have. read more

North third is a favorite of ours in Northern Liberties. We decided to try it out for brunch one day and were shocked at how good all the food was. I got the Roasted Pear Pancakes I think and they were to die for... and my partner got a plain caesar salad with chicken and we were amazed at how good a Caesar salad could be. They put kale and romaine in it and idk something about both greens and the dressing ratio was 10/10. Went back a few weeks later and had the biscuits and gravy and wow were they good. Dinner is great too, the food and drinks are just so damn good and pretty affordable compared to others in the area. Would recommend!!! read more

We visited here for lunch, minus the gentleman that sat us, our experience was great. The hostess was not welcoming at all, he and 2 other staff members saw us waiting and none acknowledged us rather they finished their conversation before coming over. Other than that part, the food and service was great thus still the 5 star rating. We both got the fried chicken sandwich that came with the handcut fries. They use thigh meat for the sandwich, it was juicy and flavorful, complete with the fresh bread and toppings, sooo darn good. And the fries, I tried to retain myself but ate almost all of them. So yummy!!! The margarita was tasty, a refreshing libation for a warm October day. I would definitely come back again. read more
