Fired before they even got started. We needed an inspection on our chimney per our boiler technician. I called this company up and scheduled an inspection. A couple days before the appointment. They had a called and reschedule which things happen that's OK. We made a new inspection date and I told the nice old lady The technician had to be here by 9 AM because I had to be at work at a certain time. The Friday before a gentleman called me from the company confirming the appointment and told me they will be there between 9 and 10 AM. I told them the technician had to be there at 9 AM because I had to go to work at a certain time. He said he would note the account. The morning of 9 AM came and went. 9:2in the morning the nice older lady called me up saying the technician is running a little late. I asked how late and she said she didn't know she would call him. So she had me on hold and called him. He checked his GPS and on speakerphone I heard him say he is still one hour away from me. This company had no intention of being at my house at 9 AM. Hopefully they read this review and correct themselves for future clients. read more

My chimney cap flew off in the wind and the chimney itself was damaged I called certified chimney process they came quickly, gave me a reasonable quote, so I booked their services. On the day of the repair they came on time they were polite careful of my property make sure everything was covered and cleaned up meticulously at the end. I am so happy with their service. This place is a complete waste of money, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. My appointment took 3 weeks for them to fulfill, when they got here they spent about 20min before I found out they needed to come back for a more expensive treatment and still charged me the same amount. I regret ever calling them, heed my warning, keep looking. I partially blame myself for not reading reviews before booking, they have shitty reviews everywhere. These guys must go down. The first appointment with Certified Chimney Pros was great. Matt cleaned my pellet stove and chimney and was very professional. He told me about a deep clean service which would basicaly leave my pellet stove looking like new. So I signed up for this expensive service and made an appointment for 3 months later. A day before the appointment they cancelled and would not give me another appointment until sometime in the next year. I was having a problem with the stove so really needed them to come before the heating season for the repair so they agreed to come in September. This time they confirmed the appointment 2 days before and cancelled it again the day before. I told them again that I did not want the deep clean but just needed them to repair the stove for me. The woman kept insisting I was demanding the deep clean and they did not have any more appointments again until the new year and even then they could not do the deep clean! She was fixated on this deep clean that I did not want) I asked several times that Matt call me and he never did. You can't get service with Certified Chimney Pros! I actually was "begging" the woman to help me out, after all I had waited 9 months to get service. Apparently they don't want my money! They showed up spent all day, didn't complete the job and told me they might be able to come by to finish in 2 months, also tried to charge me for $1000 worth of additional services that they never told us about. The cost was very reasonable and cheaper than some other companies. He may be hard to get a hold of as he is really busy but if you want quality results, keep calling him. Told me I had a major problem in my chimney. Gave me a $5000+ estimate for repair. I got a second opinion from a very reputable chimney company who said there was absolutely no problem with the chimney. He also said that doctor soot didn't clean my chimney and I still had level 1 creosote. However, I paid doctor soot to clean the chimney. So either the doctor did a terrible job, or didn't clean it at all. Either way, they said I needed a major chimney repair that I didn't need, and did not clean my chimney. read more

Napoleon was not interested in doing the right thing, that is, replace the stove. Matt did remove and replace the stove, with no help from Napoleon. His staff is courteous and efficient. In 30+ years as a home owner, I've had many excellent contractors and others who, well, are just terrible. Doctor Soot falls into this latter category. In September we had them come to our home for a chimney inspection and sweep. We knew that we needed repainting, repointing, and repatching. We were told that they would not undertake those services until we installed a new chimney liner and we contracted with them for the installation, an expensive job ($2500 + 400 for cleaning and inspection). When it was completed, the technician told us that we would be hearing from the owner of the business, who had done the original inspection, in a few days to make an appointment for the external work we needed. We were also told we would receive, by email, photographs of the completed job. None of that happened. At the end of November I called to complain and was told somebody would get back to me in a day or two. Didn't happen. In mid-December I called again and the office manager told we that she didn't have our records onsite and she would need to retrieve them from external storage. She swore she would get back to me that day or the next to address my complaint. I told her I would take her at her word and she promised a return call. Never happened. And today, I opened my mailbox to find a Holiday Greetings card from them! I don't think so! My only conclusion is that this firm is only interested in your money. Once they have it, they couldn't care less about you as a customer. Worse, they will lie to your face about following up with "promises." There are many chimney services out there, I suggest you use any one rather than Doctor Soot. read more
